Engineer arrived at the time scheduled and was informative and professional about the work required. New parts were ordered and fitted on the date scheduled. We now have a new fully functional compressor unit.

Absolutely HORRIBLE - I never write any reviews for anything but this company is a SCAM.

I wold give minus 5 starts if I could.

Their business model is to intentionally not find your problem so they can keep charging you for visits.

We had numerous engineers come over and do nothing except to inspect whatever was already inspected a million times by their colleagues of the same company, complaining they wouldn't stay to solve our problem because they wouldn't pay for extra time on the parking meter.

And not only that, once we finally got a contractor from another company to find out what was wrong (which was a valve on the pipes, and nothing to do with the boiler) we discover that one of your engineers who changed the part that we didn't need, carried out the procedure so poorly that now we have a boiler with a gas leak - which we didn't have before.

We spent 2 weeks without heat and hot water and all because those guys were telling us they would find our problem.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

The very reason why one would use an emergency plumbing service is to get professional help timely. Regretfully, the service we received from this Company was neither professional nor timely. We booked an emergency plumber for 1pm but engineer only showed up after 3pm. He was unable to fix the problem with our boiler, argued that a replacement part was needed but refused to go to buy it for us (despite his head office advising on the phone that it would be possible). On the top of being unhelpul, engineer was impolite and irritating. He insisted that our boiler must have been down for ages and we were lying by saying it just broke down (and by the way, why would one lie? We own our property, own the boiler, we were the one who called in and paid for the emergency plumber!). Business model must be to get paid for the emergency call, but no willingness or ability to address the issue. Avoid.

This visit by Matthew Adams to my home residence was to carry out the annual service and safety check on my central heating boiler. He came in very good time and explained what he was going to do. He also explained what I needed to do, as well as what I mustn't do for the moment. He got on well with the task and I could see him carrying out various checks and tests. At the end he explained what he had done and anything noteable. He advised me to bring down the carbon monoxide alarm from upstairs and put it next to the boiler because if there ever was a problem, that is where it would come from. Everything was left neat and tidy.

VHL are an average company and have used them every year for a few years, but my most recent interaction with them has left a very sour taste.

After a boiler service in December 2019, they emailed me as below.

I left them a decent review and followed up by email to get my cashback and they went completely silent on me for weeks. Then after chasing, one of their team (Jennifer F.) replied to say a refund had supposedly been processed, but after checking for several days I had not received anything. I have contacted them a couple of times since to ask where this refund is and which account it was sent to, in case it was my oversight (unlikely, but giving benefit of doubt) and it's been total silence throughout.

I cannot in good conscience leave a positive review for VHL after they way they've handled this situation.

Just don't offer your customers something you can't deliver on! These are absolutely BASIC business principles. OR just own up to the fact that you offered too much and have been flooded with customers taking this up, and apologise. Don't just ghost the people who have been loyal.

Very unprofessional. Booked and paid for an engineer to come 2 days ago and have been waiting 3 hours from the time given only to be told that the engineer cannot come now. I even took time out to facilitate the appointment and parking. WASTE OF TIME.. Do not use this company!

After an initially helpful conversation on the telephone, subsequent service has fallen far short of what was expected. Despite two follow-up requests, I am still even waiting to receive proper details of the policy to which I signed up. Calls are not returned. Appointments are not kept. Even basic details such as names and addresses are not being recorded properly. Good engineers are being badly let down by a sloppy and careless back-room culture.

VHL failed to implement the manufacturer 7-year warranty until I eventually after many months forced them to do so. After over a year since installation they have yet to implement the extra year of warranty offered in return for buying their programmer, this despite numerous calls and emails.

The plumber carried out a gas safety check and boiler service on 2 flats. She was efficient, polite, tidy and communicated well. The office however took ages and several phone calls to send over the gas safety certificates. They were helpful but it took a long time and I had paid in advance.

When I looked for a Worcester Bosh trained engenier on Google ,I found "VHL" .When I called them a very friendly &helpfull Receptionist answered my call really,& after I offetold heher my problem with my Bosh Boiler
send offered to send me a Senior Engenier for my first visit! She send the most experienced Engenier to got look at my boiler/ which had a pressure problem!!.She even offered to reduce the charges for the first time..! The Engenier she sent , was really friendly & very knowledge able & he was 100% correct with his report of dedecting what was the problem with my Bosh boiler.!.I was very impressed & decided that I take out a cover for my boiler & Central heating System with VHL./as it was cheaper than British Gas. I can recommend them.

Our engineer Daniel, was an extremely skilled and a very nice guy. He was informative on what needed fixing and why and was able to diagnose the problem very quickly. Our boiler is old and very fiddly but now it's purring like a kitten. Great service all round. The call out fee was reasonable as well especially with the discount for booking online and the part needed was ordered quickly by the helpful phone team.

Plumber arrived in just over an hour and was able to fix the problem within the hour timeframe. He was friendly, knowlegable and professional. Would defintely use this company again and worth paying the bit more for peace of mind that a good job has been done and tidying up afterwards.

Absolute scammers.

Absolute scammers.
They came round to make a simple fix to a toilet in a property I own.
No fix was made and I was given a quote of hundreds and hundreds of pounds and an extensive list of things that 'needed' to be remedied to fix the toilet.
I had another company come and make an emergency fix, couple of bits of wood and everything was secure and the total fix was going to cost me the price of a couple of tiles, some wood for boxing in and the price of a few hours labour.
Be wary of these people. I found through a google search.

Engineer tried to upsell me a new boiler that wasn t needed!
I contacted Village Heating Ltd to fix my boiler as I saw they had a large number of positive reviews online. It turns out they offer a 10% discount for customers that post a review hence why they have such a large number.
They offered me a full refund if I deleted my review. I said I'd delete if after I'd received my refund, so they pretended they'd refunded me. I ended up showing their emails saying they'd refunded my money to my credit card and they refunded the money instead!

I later discovered that while he was looking at my boiler he d disconnected a tube inside of it that meant after he d gone I was stuck with no hot water or heating (it was working sporadically before he came), and when his job report was emailed to me he d listed four things that needed replacing in order to fix the boiler.

I see Village has quite a few positive reviews but based on my personal experience I can only recommend that people steer well clear of them and be suspicious of anything they say.

After the initial booked service took place, an unknown fault was diagnosed which required further work and considerable expense. However, eventually, the fault was tracked down and then it was pertinent to go the whole way and do a strip down rebuild.

The service and rebuild was carried out very professionally, ( myself bring a retired Gas safe engineer), and with the minimum of disruption. My only concern, which is nothing to do with VHL, is the massively high prices of spare parts which tend to push people into going for new boilers rather than repair.

My only criticism would be, that I had to push the office department to get the relevant paperwork sent to me to make the initial decision, and then had to follow up to get the payment receipts sent. The actual engineer was excellent and understood our initial concerns and offered good advice to help make the final decision.

I can sincerely recommend VHL as an excellent professional company for boiler and heating requirements.

**AVOID!** This company completely CONNED me. We were asked to pay before the work would start. I queried this as I have never paid a cost upfront before and this seemed extortionate for the little bit of wiring that needed doing. However I was told that the company policy was to charge for 8 hours in advance and then issue a refund if the work took less than that. This was confirmed by the electrician, who took only 3 hours. After the work was done I phoned to ask about the refund, was told I'd get a call back. Nothing. So I called again, and was told that they had to look at the electrician's log and would call me back. Heard nothing again. 3rd time I called, and spoke to a manager who denied all knowledge that I would ever have been offered this. Tried to fob me off saying he would look into it and call back, I had to call him 3 times as he never did. After in total about an hour of arguing (during which he was inconsistent and appeared to pluck numbers out of the sky) he eventually agreed to 'drop the rate' but it was still nowhere close to what I expected. To top it all off, the manager was rude and condescending. And at the time of writing this, I still haven't received even that small refund. At best these people are unprofessional, at worse they are con artists. The only reason I am giving them any stars at all is because the electrician himself was friendly and did a good job.

I will be reporting to trading standards and I suggest that anyone else who has been ripped off by these people should do the same.

Have used VHL for boiler service over the last few years. Always found the engineers polite and knowledgeable. Usually phoned on the day prior to the appointment. They have a summer discount for the annual service. I have just taken out one of the boiler cover plans with them. Seems a good price so will wait to see if I need to use it. So a positive experience so far.

Technician Jaroslav was very good and efficient. Identified my hot water issue where several other boiler/plumber repairmen had failed, due to my complicated home heating set-up. Only difficulties I had were with head office, who sent engineer to the wrong postcode so had to be rebooked several days later. And then they sent me two invoices. After several discussions with them, they apologised and cancelled the second invoice. Good team in the field. I had spotted one engineer in front of my house which is why I originally used them. He (Dan) made sure that head office contacted me to arrange my appointment, calling me to verify they'd followed through with his contact promise. Impressive!

I took a half day holiday in order that I could get both a Heating Engineer and an Electrician for Village Heating to attend on the same day. At 9:30 I phoned the head office to make sure that the 2 tradesmen would turn up as booked between 10-12 in the morning. I was assured my appointment had been logged. I then phoned at 12:10 when no-one arrived to be told that the heating engineer (no mention of an electrician) was on his first job and that I could expect him between 12-1pm. At 1:15pm I called again and was told that because of an emergency gas leak, the engineer would have to delay attending me until 3-5pm.
As I had already arranged a meeting at work for 3pm (in the centre of London), I said that this would not be acceptable and that I would write a review for others benefit.
An emergency gas leak is an acceptable excuse obviously, but why did it take me to contact the company to be informed of the situation? Why did the company not anticipate that it would be inconvenient and irritating to be left completely in the dark with regards the whereabouts of their staff? Could they not send someone else.
Lesson learned. If you need a quote for work from this company, do not take time off work, but insist they visit in the evenings or at the weekend when it is convenient for you.

I used VHL following a burst water pipe emergency couple of days ago. I thought that the lady who answered the call could have been more understanding after I told her that I had a burst water pipe and my kitchen was flooding. She was more interested in doting the i s Andy crossing the t s in entering information than getting an engineer out. She was very poor.

The engineer turned up within 30mins which was good news. He was very quick and easy going. He must have spent no more than 20min on site. But stopped the leak.
I don t think I would use VHL for normal works if they ask for money up front as you know it s going to end in tears...

AVOID!!! Charged for plumbing repair that wasn't completed properly (broke down 3 days later) - left without hot water and wanted to charge me again to fix. Then they charged me up front for an electrical job, which I promptly cancelled after seeing standard of plumbing expertise. Promised refund for cancelled electrical job that I'm still waiting for 5 weeks later. Told it's being dealt with and I would be contacted - they didn't call back. After seeing other's experiences for refunds, will now be pursuing this through other channels until resolved on principle.

Matt Adams came on Friday at short notice and was very professional. It was nice to meet him again after a previous visit up to a few years ago after he mentioned he recognised the flat. He wore his face mask at all times there was a risk of close contact with me as required, was happy to have windows open for safety reasons, and fitted the new radiator with no issues. He explained the one year fitting workmanship one year warranty and checked with us our radiators were heating up after he fitted the radiator.

He recommended a home care plan with VHL for my boiler which in the long run is going to save me money. All in all I was happy with their service!

The person who answered was incredibly helpful given that I was panicking a lot over the phone and they got a plumber out to me within 20 minutes. The plumber even called on the way to offer me over the phone advice with my problem.
The plumber was helpful, friendly, reassuring and efficient.

the most incompetent company I have ever dealt, with shocking... All the staff are incompetent have no clue what they are doing, we decided to pay the balance of our boiler off in full, to then be charged another 20% vat on top of the VAT they had already charged, took the money out of my account and left me overdrawn, chased for 4 days to get my money whilst I was getting charged daily for this, to date they have not even called me to check if I have received the refund and also have not come back to offer me as a gesture of goodwill any compensation for taking the wrong amount in the first... .DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have used them for boiler installation and few plumbing jobs and have always been impressed by their professionalism and quality of work . However they can be too pricey on some items. For example they charged me double the market price for radiator valves. I do understand a slight premium comes with the quality of service but doubling the price on parts is too much.

We had a dishwasher plumbed in recently. Although the work was done to a good quality and the plumber was friendly and polite, we were told the fairly simple job would take one hour but it took two. We explained when asking for a quote that a new section of pipe would be needed to connect the dishwasher to the mains and waste but the plumber did not bring any parts with him. He had to leave to go buy some which caused the job to run over to the second hour - unnecessarily given as we had explained the requirements beforehand. We were frustrated to be charged for the extra time.

We called these people in a week ago to fix our boiler. They said it was fixed and went. The same issue was present up until now and every time we call them it s excuse after excuse. There is also a fraudulent document that says it has been signed by Mum to say the work was completed which she never signed and will be definetly taking this issue up with my lawyer and checking what my rights are because we need our money back or for someone to come and do the job they were paid for. This isn t over by a long shot.

-After 3 weeks an easy issue still unsolved.
-First engineer worked literaly 1 minute and we were charged one hour. He fixed nothing.
-Second engineer never came. No followup from them.
-They can't send engineers over Easter at normal fee, although they started the job far before. Problem remains in spite of having paid.

Had a boiler put in by VHL in 2014 and I now get it serviced annually by them to keep it in good condition. Service is always easy to book over the phone, professional and quick and unlike some service people there's gives you an AM/PM time window, update it when they are about an hour away and then arrive when they say they will. Engineer broke a clip on the flap which I'm still waiting to be replaced 9 days later and have had to chase up but the boiler works just fine!

I would not recommend their services. Had such stressful experience, from rescheduling to missing tools/equipment. The worst was to be overcharged, which thanks to Megan it was refunded but took about 1 month to give me my money back. I would look somewhere else for better services.

VHL quickly diagnosed the problem with my heating system, and on the follow-up visit installed the replacement equipment very quickly and efficiently.

VHL's engineer was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional - I would recommend VHL, and will be using them again should the need arise.

This is both a one star and a five star review. The first engineer who came wasn't any good as it turns out and the job remained outstanding for nearly two weeks (with no hot water during that time) because apparently he couldn't get hold of parts. I received a call from him first thing this morning to say that he was quitting the company and not bothering to finish the job. I called VHL and at first they weren't going to send anyone today but then after some fuss on my part they sent Nathan late morning. He was excellent - worked out which parts were necessary, went and bought them (no hanging round for parts to be ordered or anything like before), came back, fitted them and now there is hot water. So I guess it depends on the engineer, but I finally have hot water and I am happy.

Village Heating ask me to put a5 star review which I did in good faith but to find out that the repair of my boiler wasn't done (only worked one day). Now they refuse to comeback , I had 2 appointments booked with no one turning up. My pub has been very cold for 2 weeks now, I'm loosing a lot of trade. I will take them to court to claim the loss of earning. The pub is the Fox and Firkin in London.
