I ve had nothing but bad experiences with the male...
I ve had nothing but bad experiences with the male vets at this clinic. The women, however, are top notch. Sadly male vets aren't open minded, so Dr Halver required the issues I presented weeks earlier to become problems before he would acknowledge them. I took Holstein in on early signs of bladder crystals only to be told by Dr Halver there s nothing medically wrong with him. He needs antidepressants. Two weeks later Holstein is writhing on the floor and we wind up at the 24/7 animal hospital, with, guess what? Bladder crystals.
Combine that with the Dr Bishop telling me to put Felix down immediately because he s FeLV+, might be why I don t trust male vets anymore. Felix has thrived the last four years as the most happy, energetic and playful cat in my brood. Every day he comes and gives me kisses I want to punch Dr Bishop in the face. How dare he deny Felix so many years of living life to its fullest.
Out of respect for Dr Temple, I will not be adopting any more rescue cats anytime soon (at her request due to the FeLV+ condition) I get that we need to contain the spread. But will love my babies up to and long after this insidious disease takes them from me.
Since my feral colony has been fixed (with the help of neighbors), god willing there won t be any cats requiring rescue in the foreseeable future.
I have a rule that if one of the women isn t available, I ll find another clinic. Keep that in mind when booking. The women are above and beyond compassionate. The men are heartless (in my experience). The techs are all brilliant by my standards.
Oh, and the groomer they have working on-site, Jo? She does amazing work! Grooming is never an exact science, so having my family vet on-site in the event of a clipper injury is a major comfort. In four years it hasn t been an issue, but knowing they are they are is a huge comfort. And her prices are exceptionally reasonable!
