Wow, the health insurance industry for individual plans is confusing and overwhelming! I finally was connected to Kalena Taylor at VelaPoint and she was a breath of fresh air. Answered all of my questions, was professional (not pushy like many other health insurance brokers), and she selected the right options that fit my scenario.

First, the person I spoke with was awesome, very nice. But from there it all went down hill. They set you up with a great plan for insurance, than transfer you to the Insurance company to finalize and confirm. When they pick up, they say the numbers I am giving them don't match any don't know what I'm talking about, oh and the first time someone picked up, she had trouble hearing me and I her, so after spelling my name out to her, I got a "well that is what I said" and a comment off speaker, that I heard. So I asked to speak with a different person. With that, she hung up on me. For three days we have tried to set this up , and still no one can help. And the icing on the cake? My money came out of my account! Now I have to get the bank to stop payment etc..
I have used Velapoint for 3 years. My rep is such a nice person and she helped me so much. There was no chance I could have done all this myself. I tried. Whenever I call she knows who I am and what issues I had before.
I worked with Robert Smith. He was more than helpful, patient and informtive in answering all of my questions. He helped me find just the right health plan to accommodate the needs of my husband and I. I would recommend Robert in a heartbeat to anyone whom is seeking health care in what can be an overwhelming and complicated process.

The agent I worked with was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and even made the process enjoyable. I feel I got just what I need for short term coverage at a very reasonable cost.
Fantastic Customer Service and the agents worked hard to resolve any issues. I am not sure I was sold the right policy and I had some issues with National General paying for vaccinations. They wouldn't pay them. Cost me additional money that I was not prepared to pay.
Experience was great until I submitted my application and tried to cancel it the same day due to not being comfortable with the policy. Sent email , rep finally responded day or so later and fees were still taken! Did not like the partial customer service!
Wes provided excellent service. He was informative and helpful, and found a policy for my great-nephew that fit his needs. I enjoyed working with Wes and would recommend him when I have an opportunity.

I was very nervous about shopping for health insurance on my own. I had always had insurance provided by my employer. I was lucky enough to get Bharat "Brad" Patel as my agent. He was amazingly knowledgeable, patient and compassionate. He researched and walked me through all of my options and explained things to me in ways that I could understand. He also patiently and thoroughly answered all of my questions. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Bharat, for helping to calm my nerves and for finding an insurance product that was right for me!
I do not recommend VelaPoint, once you submit your insurance application, aka: once you've given them your money, they turn completely unresponsive. The employee I worked with was Joseph Taylor Little. He was polite during the initial call and when I had a question, pre-application, he responded quickly. After I submitted my insurance application and had a question, I was NEVER able to get ahold of him. All my question was was how long the application would take to process. I called multiple times, left multiple messages and he never once called back or answered the phone. No one else at VelaPoint would assist me either, they all told me when I called the main line that he would have to help me and that they'd pass the message on to him. Honestly, I've had less-than-good customer service before, but I've never had a company completely ignore me. And there's apparently no recourse once you've given your credit card number because no one else you call there will help you either. Definitely stay away. Terrible Terrible Terrible.
Raquel was absolutely excellent. She was patient with as I rambled on about my situation. Raquel was calm and respectful, very kind and assisted me in finding great alternative insurance options. I've consulted with Velapoint for three years now and always was/am happy with the insurance they helped me to choose. Justin is very efficient and thorough and considers your needs to find the right plan.
Should have 0 stars! They don't deserve to have any. When you ask to talk to the person you need to they go around it and then transfer you to the wrong people! Very disappointed......

Chris Driskell was the agent who helped me and it was a great experience. He helped my son and I find the perfect coverage. I didn t think I would be able to afford dental and vision plans but learned it was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this to anyone!
The agent was untruthful and told me things would be cover under the plan he set for me. Come to find out none was covered. And the plan was NOT minimum essential coverage. But the lies he told is what made me upset.

Jesse Mays at VelaPoint was about the 6th person I spoke with regarding insurance for my family. The company I loved went out of business and of course that meant my family was in the market for insurance. Worst experience of my life. Surprisingly, many of the brokers are condescending and one actually told me to eff-off. They all say they'll send you information to consider, but they do not always follow through. By the time I met Jesse and VelaPoint I had a very jaded opinion of Healthcare insurance sales people and the healthcare system in general. Very quickly VelaPoint made a strong positive impression. They did something unique, they listened, kingly and answered my concerns directly and with compassion. I was connected to Jesse Mays after the first person concluded I had called into the wrong department. Jesse listened. Jesse then put together a proactive plan that met my family's needs. I do not have a simple health care situation. There are different needs for my wife and daughter and I. And my company just closed. That means at this moment, I am between jobs. It'll be tight for the short term. Jesse worked it all out and left my wife and I feeling like someone in the health insurance world cares about people. I mention Jesse because he was fantastic, keep in ming that me was not the first VelaPoint representative I spoke with, they were all amazing. Customer care is clearly their top priority. I recommend them highly.
VelaPoint makes a cumbersome process, an easy and simple one when it comes to selecting health insurance. Special mention to Troy Belt, whose attention to personal needs and his organized and fast service, makes it a very effective one.
I am a new member of Vela Point and trying to get customer service is a nightmare!! If it wasn't such a pain to change insurance companies, I would drop my policy in a heartbeat!
Do not sign up with this company, the customer service is non existent.... It's all about getting you into a policy, and taking you money. ASK all your questions upfront before paying because they WILL NOT return your calls. Besides not returning any of my phone calls or emails they charged my credit card not twice, not three but four times for the same policy. They don't even deserve a single star but required to post.

I worked with Diane. In the midst of the busy enrollment period she was very patient, informative and pleasant. We turned over every rock regarding the program I was most interested in. I would have given VelPoint 5 stars based on her performance alone however she could not tell me anything about Kaiser/Group Health plan because they are not contracted with them. A perfect company (5 stars) would be able to help me decide between the major players. Still, Diane said after I had done my own research on Kaiser to please call her back if I chose one of the plans she represented. I was so happy with her I made the effort to do that.

Company is a joke. They try to take on contracts for health care providers and try pushing reps extremely hard, surprised still in business with turn over rate of employees. The prior comment referencing Anna L-- yes, would totally believe that- her husband was/is a manager, but only training words- SELL SELL SELL,, or their 3rd party payroll will call and fire you-oh, which you dont find out about this 3rd party until your first check

If you get Wesley Tucker as your agent, you are lucky! He was extremely helpful throughout the 3 hour timespan, while remaining patient with me as I had many questions regarding the different packages. A couple times we had to call back and forth and even then, he possessed an incredible attitude with me and joked around during the conversation, leaving clients in a positive mood (because it sucks calling other insurance companies ugh). Awesome agent!

It took a very long time for me to enter my password and date of birth. I didn't know what a non alpha numeral was. Then there was no mention of what to do to change the year for your birthday. Put up a message next to the month stating press on month to change the year would have saved me a lot of wasted time.

Charles was the very nice (and extremely patient) man who helped me when I called on the last day of Open Season, frantically trying to find insurance so that I could get OFF my (ACA) BCBS plan, which had gone up to $2600 a month! For ONE person! First of all, I didn't even have to wait on hold for an hour to get a live person! Charles picked up immediately and I was so surprised to hear a live person on the other end of the phone that I thought I must have misdialed the number! My entire conversation with Charles was wonderful! When I hung up the phone, I felt complete RELIEF! And the follow up I got from Charles was seamless! So much so that I could hardly believe it had actually been done. Already! It just seemed WAY too easy! Wow. I'm still stunned, in fact, that not only am I already signed up, but that I will now be paying a FRACTION of what I was paying for the ACA-sponsored plan! THANK YOU, CHARLES!!
