They got back to me when they said they would. I was allocated insurance agent Wendy Herrman. She asked a number of questions to understand my needs. She was knew the insurance products she was selling. She was engaging and friendly, as well as professional. In summary, Wendy was excellent and the service was excellent.

Very mixed emotions are how to review. Initially used VelaPoint in the summer to sign up for short term coverage due to a job change/loss of insurance. In the beginning, the agent who spoke to me was helpful, but it ended at that phone call. Even though he offered to help if we had any questions or concerns regarding our new insurance policy, it was simply IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of him. Two weeks straight of no returned phone calls, no return emails, etc. Some details regarding or policy were not explained properly in our eyes, and we are still being affected by it currently even though our policy is no longer in effect. I was passed around from person to person, and the customer service ladies helped to the best of their ability but were not able to answer my question(s) because it was the agent himself who I needed to speak with. Such POOR follow up. We had to reinstate our short term medical and go with another temporary policy until open enrollment for 2019...and another agent helped me. At the end of the call, I cordially asked him... If I have an actual question, will you actually return an email or call, because my past experience was not a good one.. He assured me we wouldn t have an issue if so, and was helpful during that call. In the future I m not sure I d use VelaPoint moving forward.

perhaps due to my own lack of tech savvy, &/or time issues, I did not easily find comparison info on the 2 lowest cost plans. which had over a one hundred dollar difference between them. also... in this survey about my experience... I must say THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I AM SEEING THE NAME VELA POINT ! while I was offered a "pay now" option, taping that choice sent me on an endless loop of non action. ultmatley I made 3 different calls to the customer service #s offered, ( this took over an hour), ONLY ON THE THIRD PARTY I spoke with was I told my account had not processed yet & so could not accept a payment. WHY then was I offered "PAY NOW"????? Overall, if I had a choice to do it again...I would NOT.

ONLY Major medical. I was led to believe there was rx coverage and there is NOT - you have to join a savings card program. I called my pharmacy and it saved a whole big $5.00

edit: So, I decided to completely change my review after working a bit longer with VelaPoint. As it turns out, the person who had agreed to help me get coverage ended up completely cutting contact with me and didn't respond to my calls/emails. He had said in an email that he would upload my proof of insurance covering ending with my previous insurance company and he never did that, which then led me to not receive the coverage I needed for the only month that I needed it. In the end I 100% regret trusting Jesse because he genuinely seemed like a nice guy, and probably is, but he completely dropped the ball and made my overall experience with VelaPoint extremely negative. I left my original review below so you can contrast how I felt when I originally worked with VelaPoint to where I'm at now.
I had an odd circumstance of only needing health coverage for one month and was unsure if I would be able to find an appropriate plan. I called VelaPoint Insurance and spoke with Jesse who was not only helpful, but kind and informative. I left knowing what coverage I was getting, why I was getting it, why other plans wouldn't have worked, and just a general feeling that someone actually cared. I couldn't recommend VelaPoint enough, as if you couldn't already tell from my review that reads like it was written by a marketing team, and I will be recommending anyone to use their services in the future.

Recently I tried to research a healthcare plan on my own but it became very confusing and stressful. Then I found Mr. Aaron Davis at VelaPoint Insurance. Each representative before him didn t seem to have the same training, making it even more difficult to find a suitable healthcare plan. I did not understand the healthcare options that were available and his expertise was essential. He clearly knows the health insurance field inside and out. He willingly explained everything, at times even twice. He s also super friendly and positive as well. Jesse Mays helped me find a great insurance plan for myself about two years ago. I recently needed to add my son to my insurance plan so I emailed him to see if he could help me find something that would work for our family. He called me within a couple of minutes and had a few plans for me to choose from that were all great. Once we decided which one to go with he called me back right away and got everything going over the phone. The process was quick, easy, and understandable. We had insurance that same day. I'll be calling Jesse with any future health insurance needs!

They do not even deserve one star. Pretty sure this is the worst company out there - everyone passes around the responsibility of taking your call, transfers you until you end up where you started, after a couple of hours of you trying to get things done. Then, when trying to reach a manager --because you've gotten absolutely nowhere except for talking to a bunch of people who don't handle your business or listen to what you need handled in the first place -- you will listen to automated music for a ridiculously long hold time, only to have an automated system ask you to leave a message. When Crystal (the supervisor) calls you back, she has a bunch of apologies and no clear answers other than the fact that she can transfer you again or connect you to the right person - and the whole process starts again.
It is really refreshing when the person you speak to at any insurance company can answer any question that you have without putting you on hold all of the time. Nicole was great to work with and very knowledgeable about all of her products that she provides and delivers it all very professionally. Nicole is getting referrals from me for sure...
