Every once in a while, luck is with you and you find the right people for the right job. This was my experience with United Heating Cooling Plumbing of AZ. I had two air conditioning units, furnaces and ductwork done in a 19 y/o house the same week Phoenix hit it's first 100 degree day. The team was clean, professional, fast and efficient to say the very least about them. They worked in symphony and even helped me move things back in my garage and cleaned up the mess! I cannot tell you the depths of my appreciation for such a job well done. Everyone was just great! Thank you to Kent, Roy, Ernie, Roberto, Eddie and Alex (and others) for such a nice representation of your company. I am a customer for life!

Do not use the company for any service work. My mother in law paid United Heating and Cooling $400 the beginning of this year for them to do service work on both of their AC units since they do live in an town home/condominium. They have yet to come out this year to service the units. It is now May 4th and we turned the AC units on and the main level unit is not blowing cold. So we naturally called them to come out and service the unit today which they agreed to for an additional $125 and any additional parts/Freon needed we have to pay them as well at a 15% discount .

I explained to them that the reason for our call today and why the urgency was my mother in law is taking care of her dyeing husband in her home. He is laid up in a hospital bed in the middle of the living room and it is 80 degrees inside. I explained to both the technician and his manager on call that my father in law is on his last few hours battling dementia and we needed to have this addressed.

They had ZERO sympathy, towards the situation of which my mother in and law was going through. The manager on call said either we pay the $125 or he will just cancel the call for us. I asked him why have you yet to be out here to service the AC since she already paid the $400 in advance for this? In his words were we would have to reschedule an appointment on Monday to have this done that he would not do it today as we needed it to be done since they have not come out to service the unit in 2018. He then stated that my mother in law was suppose to schedule an appointment with them to have this done. I reminded them again that my mother in law has been dealing with my father in law's medical issue and he has been in and out of the hospital. Again not one "Oh I am Sorry" or one ounce of sympathy they just want their money.

Now how can you work with a company that is sitting on $400 of my mother in laws money already and they refuse to do the right thing and come out and repair the AC so my father in law and his family members do not have to deal with this. This company has ZERO HEART along with not a shred of compassion for what my mother in law is going through decency .

It shows the character of the employees at this company tonight and I will make sure that this horrible customer service and true lack of compassion for others gets spread all over the Internet. We will be cancelling out maintenance plan with the company and looking elsewhere to find a company that does not want to try and take care of people in the times of need.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD SO OTHER PEOPLE DO NOT GET TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF LIKE THEY TRIED TO DO TO MY MOTHER IN LAW TODAY!!

He further explained what it would take to add a water softener in our home. He was both courteous and helpful. I was pleased with this service call.

United installed our HVAC during construction, and we have used them for regular maintenance ever since. We have never had any problems with the service, and the technicians that have been to our home have always been very courteous and helpful. I tend to be curious about what is going on during a service call, and I like to be informed about how my system works , so I ask a lot of questions and have always received good responses to them.

After 21 years of service, our heat pump/ac unit finally bit the dust during a very hot & humid period. We waited through several days in order to have reps from several major contractors provide us with new system proposals and costs. Tempting to jump on the first one and just get the darn AC back on, but we're glad we waited.

Only Jeff Davis with United discussed our needs and wants and provided us with FOUR separate options, with a wide range of SEER ratings, brands and costs. And he took a lot of time to explain the differences. He never pushed a system that would have most benefitted United's revenue, rather he helped us decide which ones best met OUR needs, based out lifestyle and expected number of years we will live in our home. Thank you United, for having a great rep like Jeff!

And thank you for sending Joe & Hunter to do the installation-great guys! We could not have been happier with anyone else you would have sent. From the moment they arrived, they were super friendly, courteous and professional! They worked their tails off in miserably hot & humid conditions (both indoors & out!) and stuck with it all day until they were sure everything operated correctly. Then they stayed around even longer to explain the system/thermostat operation, how warranty paper work would be submitted by United and made sure that we were satisfied with their work. They left our site cleaner and neater than they found it-every bit of old components, packaging, trash, etc was removed. We are COMPLETELY satisfied!

Furnace went out and called United. They said they could get there the next afternoon (this was on a cold day when no one else could). Supposed to be there between noon and 5pm. Called frequently to let me know they were running late because of the number of calls. The technician that came out (Donald) was very professional and made the repair quickly. They are VERY professional and would highly recommend.

He came out and took care of my problem that I had for 3 days......I had tried to use my home warranty company to no avail and he was wonderful and it ended up being a simple fix.....the other company failed miserably and I won't use them again. We had a blower fan motor go out in a rental in the early morning hours before the family was moving out. The day of the move we called United and Mike R. came to help about 3:30 pm. He checked the furnace and discovered the problem. He did not have a Trane blower fan motor on his truck and had to drive to KC, MO to get one. He cleaned the squirrel cage fan completely and not without problems with a frozen hose, etc. Mike had such a great attitude through the whole process, finishing about 6:45 pm. We were extremely pleased with the service we received, and the house began warming up quickly.

I have been waiting for almost 7 hours no one called yet and the number that says 24 hours is not answering or calling back within 10min like they say. I would not recommend you to work with them. My house temperature is 90 and I'm still waiting on them to even set up a time.

We were clients of Harris Heating & Cooling. When Rob Harris sold his company to United we didn't know what to expect. We just had an annual on our furnace and Kevin, the service tech was prompt and very polite. He went above and beyond and checked out our humidifier that needed to be cleaned and the filter replaced. My wife said he really cleaned the humidifier well. We were impressed that he wore foot coverings to keep our floors clean. We would definitely recommend United. We are using them on our rental property also.

We called United to check out our leaking hot water heater & dripping washer water valve. Bobby came out and did a thorough assessment & explained our alternatives. We decided to replace the water heater. Bobby did a very professional job in installing the new water heater as well as the new washer valve. He answered all my questions about caring for the hot water heater. We were very happy with Bobby's work & United's bill for the work performed. I would recommend them highly for any plumbing work.

Thermocouple went out on my dad's furnace. I called United to schedule a technician to service it @ 9:30 am. Said they could be out between noon & 5 pm. Thirty minutes later they called and said a technician could be out within the hour. Chad was very professional, stuck with the job. It was a Coleman brand furnace from 1971 in a mobile home. It took a couple of hours, but with some wisdom from myself and holding the flashlight my father is warm again. My only suggestion is that they carry line wrenches. Thank you

They came in fixed the problem with fair pricing, and professionalism! These workers are always working in severe heat conditions, and now they are in masks too! At 1:00am on a Sunday morning, we finally arrived ...

At 1:00am on a Sunday morning, we finally arrived home from our 2 week vacation. Unfortunately, our air conditioner ALSO decided to take a "break" while we were away - our home was hotter INSIDE than it was the whole time we were OUTSIDE in Mexico!

After cranking the A/C to 43 degrees and watching the thermostat remain on 93 degrees for about 30 minutes, we realized we had a problem. So we called it a restless night (morning).

When we got up later that Sunday, we called United Heating and Cooling and spoke with Stephanie who was absolutely professional, friendly, empathetic, and helpful. She dispatched Chad to our house and was there within an hour. Again, Chad was totally professional, friendly - even humorous, which is what we needed right then! It took him maybe 30 minutes to get everything working, explain the problem, and apply our discounts.

Seriously - we got PERFECT no hassle service on a Sunday, and were back to normal in less than a few hours!

Can't be happier with United Heating and Cooling!

I have to edit my posting that I made 2 years ago. I wanted to remain loyal to a company that has done a good job with my heating/cooling needs, but my experiences with their plumbing division have only been 50% positive. The most recent is an issue with their scheduling. I made an appt 2 days ago to get the hot water spigot for my washing machine replaced. Several hours into the time frame when they said that they'd come they said they couldn't be here until significantly later. That there were several more important jobs ahead of mine. I understand that people not having hot water is more significant than me not having a washing machine but they could've just told me 2 days ago that they didn't have sufficient staff to keep their appointments. Even calling me first thing in the morning to let me know that they wouldn't be getting to me today would've been better than me wasting my time waiting for a technician that wasn't going to arrive.

Our A/C has just gone out AGAIN...on this warm eve...

Our A/C has just gone out AGAIN...on this warm evening in our family home of 2 adults & 2 girls of age 2 & 8! - After United installed a new compressor nearly ONE YEAR AGO! That unit went dead on us literally on July 4th, 2018! And the following days until they received the part was horrendous!
However, in this instance...United Heating & Cooling came to our aid fast!
After leaving a message with Joey (the service manager), he called me back this afternoon. We spoke momentarily about our A/C dying on us last night. Joey was very kind, professional, knowledgeable, and willing to take care of us within his ability. He informed me that he d have someone out to our house late this evening, and would be willing to take care of us. We truly appreciated that.
Brad (the field manager) arrived to us within the hour! - Quite early! Brad was very understanding, experienced, and neighbor-next-door friendly! He diagnosed our A/C, and discovered the stock capacitor was bad. He didn t simply replace the capacitor with another stock capacitor from his truck. No, he replaced the stock capacitor with an upgraded turbo capacitor that has a 5 yr. warranty.
They DO care about their clientele!
When I tell you...that United came through for my family...in the hottest month of the year...it s NOT a lie nor exaggeration!

Our garbage disposal sprang a leak, which we discovered on Friday just before noon. We use 'Angie's List' so we checked there for a plumber. United said they'd have someone out that afternoon. They replaced our disposal for a very fair price, and we had our sink back for the weekend!

Kenneth was nice and fixed our AC. I'm mad that I was charged $283 for a dual run capacitor. I'm pretty sure that part is $20 tops. I'm ok with the holiday service charge that was 140. The part shouldn't be 10 times more because of a holiday. Let me be clear; Total was $426. Service $143. Part $283.

They service our furnace and air conditioning systems every spring and fall and we have used them for simple as well as complicated tumbling issues as well. Their staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, clean and efficient while the pricing is reasonable. Service time and response is excellent for us a priority customers!

I just had to have my entire air conditioning system replaced. This is never good news. United Hearing and Air was the second company I called. Dan came out and thoroughly inspected my system; explaining everything as he went. He then gave me several options and consulted me on what was best for my house. Dan was professional and really knew the business. My unit was replaced the very next week by an amazing crew of installers. I will never use anyone but United again. A honest, fair, expert company.

Donald, the service technician, was very professional, identified the problem and told me how he would fix it, and did so quickly. Great service from the initial call to paying the bill - very rare indeed.

First visit by this Company, so not much to give detail on.
We started a Yearly Service contract with this company because our Family members have used this company and liked their service.
The person showed up on tame.
He checked our furnace, checked our AC and our thermostat. He found a refrigerant leak and hopefully fixed the leak. He found nothing wrong with our thermostat at this visit. The thermostat still does not work well. He suggested we call KCP&L to get a Free thermostat if our thermostat continues to malfunction. The thermostats he installed were good but very expensive. We called KCP&L and we are having a free, high tech thermostat installed by KCP&L in September.
He charged us nothing for the AC part that hopefully fixed the leak and did not charge us for the refrigerant he replaced.
Annual fee for Spring and Fall service was reasonable.
We hope not to see them again until our scheduled Fall service.
We hope to have a long term relationship with this Company.

After numerous complaints about an ongoing problem...

After numerous complaints about an ongoing problem with our heater, the company sent out a very young, rude & incompetent service manager, who made it plainly obvious that he did not know what he was doing. After he started lying & trying to talk down to me, I asked him to pack his tools & leave. I will never call this company again. I would not even give this company 1-star, but it is required in order to leave a review.
I got the problem fixed properly the first time, when I called another company.

I just had service from United and had to replace the control board. The technical service was great but the pricing from the company was outrageous. The cost they charged was over ~648 dollars and I can buy the same board, 50A65-475 White Rogers board on Amazon from $106 to $138 dollars. Using the $138 cost that about a 370% markup. Anyone reading this can look up this number for yourself to validate.
I was told by the service technician's supervisor that they compare there pricing to other like companies. I guess they are all criminal. My service call already covers labor rate. Pure Greed.

Since United installed the heating and cooling system in my home when it was new, I've continued to rely on them for service/maintenance for the past 11 years. Their charges are competitive. They make reminder & arrival calls. An added touch is emailing info about the service technician before he arrives. They address any questions I may have, are always polite, and thorough.

I had united replace my entire unit inside and out...

I had united replace my entire unit inside and out last October. Service was good at the time, friendly and seemed to be helpful. We had some issues come up and had a tech come out to look at the unit. The tech informed us that the unit was not fully installed and it was not replaced as I expected. Part of the issue is causing my pilot light to blow out over and over that the tech explained, this issue should have been fixed when the new unit was installed. Another issue is that the humidifier was tossed when they installed the new unit and was not replaced.

With all that said, my reason for one star is we saw the tech at our house over 6 weeks ago, no response from United on how they are planning to correct these issues. Also my wife has called twice in the past three weeks to get any sort of answer, and nothing. No answers... No response.

I get that United has bigger issues and more customers to sell, but come on... Can you please Just tell you re going to stiff me on these issues so I can get it fixed either way.

If there were a way to give zero stars, I surely would! United installed a heat pump/AC and back up furnace in our home 9 years and 9 months ago. Since that time, we have had to have technicians come out at least 30 times for repair - no exaggeration! They were out about 10 times in the first 5 months before someone finally figured out that there had been a problem with installation. We literally sweated through that first summer listening to one excuse after another as to why our house could not get cooler than 80 degrees! We have a 10 year parts and labor warranty, but that does not cover the "diagnostic charge" which can be close to $100 each time they come out and scratch their heads, shrug their shoulders and say "well we are having unusual weather this year". Multiply the diagnostic charge for HVAC companies by 30+ and you can see how much $$ we have spent unnecessarily! We also had to pay several hundred dollars recently to have additional coolant added to the unit when it sprang multiple leaks. Today's problem was a "bad circuit board" - the third in less than 10 years. Fortunately our weather was mild enough that we didn't freeze over the weekend. Our warranty expires in March 2017, and we will probably end up replacing the system the next time a repair becomes necessary. The last few repairs we have chosen to use another company that thankfully honors the manufacturer warranty because I just don't feel that United technicians are well trained or knowledgeable. When we used them for routine maintenance service, one technician spent his time outside talking on his cell phone. He never even cleaned the outside unit, never turned the hose to spray anything out, actually never left the shade under a tree in the back yard. The management response was "that is not the way we do business" but they never sent another technician out to do the routine maintenance, and I got tired of asking them to do do. We will avoid EVER doing business with United in the future; I suggest you avoid them as well!
Edit 12/24/16:
Our unit is broken AGAIN, but the good news is that it should be under warranty for a couple more months. I read United's response to my original review, and apparently they are not counting the number of times they came out in that first year and didn't write a ticket because they insisted that there was nothing wrong. Or, perhaps their record keeping is as sloppy as their workmanship. I did include the routine maintenance in the total number of visits. The sheet of paper they attach to your furnace to record visits is now on it's fourth page, so how they came up with their number is puzzling to me. It became a running joke in the neighborhood that United spent more time here than my own kids! And for the record, I did call to speak with one of the owners of the company about 2 years ago. My documentation shows I left 11 messages over a period of 5 weeks without ever receiving a call back from one (the owners were always in a meeting or away from the office). I finally did receive a call from a service supervisor who was very nice but did not have the authority to resolve the ongoing issues. My original rating of United stands, and I find it interesting the number of positive reviews posted recently. Perhaps they are running a contest where you are entered into a drawing if you send in a review??

99 degree day outside and my moms AC units went down it was 8:30 pm by this time. United Cooling came out in a timely manner and got them up and running. The house was cooling by time he left. I have used United for years and they have always done excellent work, are honest and fair! I can highly recommend them.

We have had United come out to our house 3 times over the last 4 years, once to install an air conditioner and twice to repair pipes and water lines. We have been very pleased every time! The workers are timely, professional, and knowledgeable, and the service is always done well for a reasonable price. We are thankful for Jerrod and the whole team at United Heating, Cooling and Plumbing!

We bought a new home that United installed the HVA...

We bought a new home that United installed the HVAC system in. When we scheduled them for annual maintenance they were horrible to work with. Called in November but couldn't get an appointment until late January then the wanted us to stay home all day and wait on them! Then they didn't even provide a decent service. Didn't install filter, or humidifier filter. Then they would adjust air ducts! Also, they were charged more than any other service provider! We will never use them again!

They arrived on time and were very kind. They came in and serviced my furnace and was done within 40 minutes. I received my copy of the service order via email. It was all done very professionally. I have used them for years and would highly recommend them.

I was first call of the day the tech called 30 min...

I was first call of the day the tech called 30 minutes before showing up and was right on time. I was having a furnace check up. He took things apart cleaned , inspected and answered all my questions I had. This was the first time I've used United and couldn't be happier.

Had a preventative maintenance contract with Unite...

Had a preventative maintenance contract with United. The A/C unit was working great, until tech came out for preventative maintenance, disassembled the unit, and broke the Fan Motor. Put in a temporary motor that was working poorly

United sent out a second tech and said the fan motor was shot and needed to get a new one and price was $575.

United broke a perfectly good A/C unit and wants us to pay for it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Spring A/C maintenance: Tech called an hour earlie...

Spring A/C maintenance: Tech called an hour earlier than time window, and called the wrong person. Luckily I was home [sick] so it was ok that he was early. Tech told me I was 2 lbs low of refrigerant but I had to ask many questions to find out what that cost, why it was low, how to stop the problem, etc. After many questions from me, I finally learned that I basically need a new A/C unit. I did not get offered a receipt at all and I had to write down what I could remember he told me (with a migraine) so I can move forward with getting new unit estimates. Tech also did not put things back where they were, which were in place for certain reasons. I have never had any problems with this company so I am very disappointed about yesterday's service.

I just had my regular maintenance checkup. United Heating and Cooling called me to schedule my maintenance and were able to accommodate my schedule. I received a call, as promised, when the technician was on his way. Ken was professional, efficient, and knowledgable. He spent time answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I have also been impressed with the attention I have received from all of the representatives with whom I have spoken on the phone. Their follow-up on service is most impressive.
