I have been in situations where my power was shut ...

I have been in situations where my power was shut off due to a storm or electrical outage. The service people have done their best to turn the service back on. Even if it does take awhile, I doubt it is not on purpose.
I have also been in a situation where my electricity was near or completely shut off due to none payment. Guess whose fault that was??? MINE for letting my bill get higher and higher and not wanting to pay. I cannot believe all the complaining that I see about utilities that EVERYONE has to pay. Yes, bills are increasing. Prices are going up EVERYWHERE. The world is not perfect and it is not going to get any better. Especially, with population growth and cost of living going up. AMERICANS, we have so many things to be grateful for.ELECTRICITY is one of them. There are people in other parts of the world that adapt to no utilities AT ALL and probably do not complain as much as we do. If you do not want your electricity shut off, BE RESPONSIBLE and pay your bills!! DUH! If you cannot afford it then maybe you need to examine your finances and budget your money. Some people complain about their utility bills.(Oh, but I bet your cable is paid and that expensive phone bill is paid.) Yeah!

TEP prevents customers from using solar power by charging additional fees to people in tucson who want to use our 340 days of sun a year to power their homes with solar panels. They also charge a monthly tax to ALL customers to "make up for costs lost by some customers using solar power." TEP is forcing our community to be dependent on foreign oil for a steep price to prevent us from powering our homes with free energy sourced straight from the sun.

They charged me for a bill I paid two weeks ago. I called them and they are just so sorry but cannot stop the payment. And they put a charge on top of it all. So paid my bill twice and paid a fine to. If people would know how much of a ripoff these electric companies are I think they would go out on to the streets. They buy electricity from each other so they could pump up the price. The mafia could learn a thing or two from these places.

For the secdond time in a month some TEP guys came out unannounced knocked at my door and immediately walked over to mess with my box. Not even waiting ten secdonds for me to get to the door either time. This time he turned off my power for a second?! No warning. No contact. Nothing. Then when i co fronted him about it he talked down to me so i told him ill get a picture of his truck amd report it and he quickly hurried after me. Vehicle 2839. I have never had a bad experience like this with you guys and it is not okay.

Worst experience out of any company i have ever had to deal with. They don't deserve a single star. I have had better experiences with Tep and Cox and sw gas and any utility company from every state i lived these guys are really evil.

I have had three separate debt collectors which I have disputed in writing, now they have tanked my credit score. Horrible company, treated this disabled veteran with perfect credit and proof and confirmations from their system like a liar and theif use a different company or go completely off the grid beware! TEP is a fine company. I have had service with them for decades under multiple accounts. No major issues other than typical power outages ever few years. I've used them for upgraded power at a house once as well and that process went smoothly.

I had fraud occur twice on my bank account this year and because of that my payments to TEP were returned twice this year and even though I still payed my bill after this happened including the fee they charged, I now can no longer make payments online and have to take my 7mo to the store to make these payments. It's not an easy task to do with her and I have no choice. On top of that their customer service is awful.

Terrible company that charges you way to much and has a bounce back fee of $ 20 then makes you go on a cash only service for a year! They don't help you when you try to call them and they don't mention important information. It is also a monopoly.

I was having issues with online system.... I always pay my bills online for some reason it wasn't working, I called and spoke to a rep in order to process payment, I was upset because they charged me a fee to pay with a rep! Not only that a couple days later I get an email advising my payment was returned because I provided wrong banking information! So I call again, and the rep had placed my routing number as my account number and account number as routing, clearly not my fault! Now my online account for tep is a Cash Only payment due to a rep not processing a payment correctly. So now I have to drive 45 mins to the location to make my payments!!!

Paid a bill at a location to avoid an autopay. Paid it too late to avoid the withdraw. Called them and they said they would have it reversed and put back in. Called back a couple days later to get a confirmation since I didn't get one, Representative says they can't and they have to cut me a check and they will put a request in and it can take up to a couple days to do that and will be sent out 10 business days from that day. Going on 12 business days and still no check.
Messaged them again and now no one answering my questions as to where my refund is. Very nice. Never late on a payment for two years I've been a customer. Very quick to take my money but slow as F $%# giving it back. Incompetent and unacceptable customer service.

Power fluctuation and then failure a few months ago in the Houghton and Broadway area resulted in burning out the electronic control board on our $3000 Range and the compressor on our sideXside garage fridge valued at $700.00. Called TEP to report it, their response was they were working in the area!! Why does power go on and off three times within 30 seconds!

Wait for hours for a supervisor to call back. The supervisor doesn't ever call back. This company is horrible. I'm a new customer and haven't received a bill for months. They're just waiting for the bill to get so large that I will have trouble paying it. I thought monopolies were illegal. Why aren't there other options?

I am under contract to purchase a property in Tucson. This company will not even provide basic information like average bill. They would not let me know if the house and guest house were separately metered. They were rude and could not provide any example of reasoning or court case causing this change in policy. An already terrible overpriced monopoly just got worse.

Charging me twice for my $360 bill would be a pretty good reason, because a college student is definitely gonna have enough to cover a double charge like that. Thanks TEP my checking account is now wiped and I had to transfer money from my savings to cover your mistake so I didn't get an overdraft fee.

I unfortunately have no choice but to use this service for power. I have lived in my ONE BEDROOM apartment for the last three years. My bill is far from ever being consistent. I tried budget billing only to find it is just as inconsistent. My bill stated that in September of 2018, I used $340 worth of energy. The very next month, October of 2018, my usage some how dropped all the way down to only $70 worth. I literally did NOTHING different in this 30 day period. I find a phone call to the representatives to be painfully unhelpful as they always have some excuse as to these drastic jumps. And alas, I am no energy expert. So in all reality, I can be charged WHATEVER they say I owe and I MUST pay. Extremely frustrating to say the least.

If I could give half a star I would. Tucson Electric Power is a joke. When I was contacted by Trish, and then later transferred to Alex, they both spoke to me so unprofessionally, Alex was asking me leading questions which I thought for a supervisor position was extremely unprofessional. When I asked them if they have contacted my roommate who up and left me high and dry they said they haven't because they don't have good contact information for him. NOT MY PROBLEM!. I'm not giving them 561 dollars as a college student it is an obscene amount.

The people making the negative statements do not realize the positive impact TEP is having on the business community. I am proud to be associated with an organization that values diverse thoughts and people. TEP is real, they are a utility that returns profit to the community.

This is the worst company! I called to see why my bill was so high.
The agent told me the reason why I m being charged 319 dollars is because I live in the apartment that have history of high bill! So I asked her does everybody that live in this apartment pay 300-400 dollars bills? She said yes is around that usually. Are you guys serious! So you telling me I have poor living choices or I should have not pick this apartment.....you agents should not determine high usage base on living situation, because if that the case everybody would be living in shelters. I feel very offended and attacked. You guys don t know my living situation nor know my life to say such a statement. I will take this to the higher level.

The TEP app is worthless and twice I scheduled payments that never went through. I then had to pay late fees and such as a result. I gave it a go the second month and it happened again. It put my account on a "cash only" hold. I had to spend 30 minutes to pay my bill over the phone and they charge a $3.50 fee for paying over the phone. Scam. I wish we had other options for Power companies.Totally frustrating!

I learn this the hard way. I put a deposit of 184.00 at time of rendering new services. So I did 3 payment extension out 12 months of payment on time. Well I honored my payment extension 9/12 of being time. I don't get my deposit I don't want the money I want to use it towards my next bill. I'm aware u get the deposit back of non late payments. I'm sad because even though those are the rules I think t.e.p should make an exception so long things are honored . Life is hard, things come up sets everyone back at times. Just goes to show u going through some hardships ***** you pay me. U made a short check cause of an illness don't have hours **** you pay me.. now it's reset I won't see that money for a whole other year. GOOG LUCK DEALING WITH THESE YOYO's Also, TEP wants to charge me $26 a month to read my own meter, because I do not want the radiation of their so called "smart meter" penetrating my personal home space. I have to put up with all day long at work, and prefer my home to not be invaded. I worked with them before, at a business, over magnetic radiation. TEP gave us all the published information on magnetic radiation and how detrimental it is to your health, then stated "we don't believe it". This is a lawyers answer to avoid liability!

TEP is the absolute worst. Yes we were behind on our bill, that s on us but how can a company turn you away when you are directly talking to someone on the phone trying to pay the bill? Then the customer service rep tells us that the closest place to pay is about 20 miles away, which, as you can guess, wasn t true. For over a year we have been trying to get off the paperless billing and revert back to a paper bill but now they just send out NOTHING! Again when we tried to remedy that she said nothing on the subject. Not trying to fix the problem or prevent the problem from happening in the future. These greedy companies are banking on your late fees and seem to not educate their employees on how to HELP people, just ruin their day.

Absolutely the most incompetent utility I've ever had to deal with. They cannot schedule an appointment without an 6-8 hour window! If you have to call, demand a supervisor immediately and when they ignore you repeating you want a supervisor 3-4 times you'll finally get one. And don't let them "call you back".... make them do the job their paid to do!

Consistently disappointing. The last time I called was to address an issue I was having with my online account. I was unable to log on to pay my bill, but when I gave my email address to change my password, the system sent me an email stating they have no record of the email address - the email account showed previous emails from TEP. When I finally managed to speak to customer service, I explained the online account situation and asked that they please set up automatic payments so that there wouldn't be payment issues in the future. The response, and I quote (in the most exact language I can recall): "I'm sorry, customer service representatives are unable to set up automatic payments. You can access that feature from your online account." Sigh.

They withdraw your accounts even if you pay early so they double bill you thanks to the wonderful auto bill system they have and you have to fight with them to get your money back. They suddenly changed their payment policies and only allow 3 payments on an account per month (making it extremely hard to pay if you have roommates- which thousands of students around campus do). Low corporate responsibility and general indifference for the Tucson community.

I am on the budget plan. They update the rate stupidly. What I've paid over a period of time wasn't enough, so they more than doubled the amount I pay even though they know I just replaced my old HVAC system and my bills won't be as high. At one time I had paid too much over a period of time, then they lowered it by about half. If they would make the adjustments in smaller increments, maybe they wouldn't be adjusting it so much. It's just ridiculous.

Their average rating of 1.7 stars on google seems high. Their bills are impossible to read, they nickle and dime you to death, their phone support takes forever and is rarely helpful, their record keeping has been inaccurate in my experience, and just in general they are a pain to work with.

They're customer service is really bad, they constantly leave you on hold or dont even pick up. After the machine that doesnt even hear your request send you to a representative they dont pick up for about 10 minutes.
