Had an excellent experience at Camping World in Richmond. Purchased a 2018 Starcraft and couldn't be happier with the whole experience other than that we had skipped lunch and we were STARVING by the time we finished up :-). Our Salesman Wade was courteous, professional, and went the extra mile to insure that we were taken care of even though he was on vacation the day we picked up our new camper. Krista in finance was filling in from the Fairfield location and was excellent to work with as well. No complaints! We love our new camper and Camping World did just fine by us.

We drove nearly 3 hours to look at a specific camper.
Matt B was excellent and provided excellent customer service to us. He went above and beyond and recommended a different camper then what we were looking at for the room with our 2 small kids. We were much happier with the one he showed us. The process took a little of time and with our two kids with us to buy the camper, they let us all go to a room and was conscientious And was safe with the Covid situation. They stayed later to ensure we were satisfied and we couldn t be happier. Best service we ve ever received from
Buying anything!
We left the shop with our brand new camper and drove 3 hours back to our home.

Horrible experience took 3 weeks to process paperw...

Horrible experience took 3 weeks to process paperwork, the camper payment was due almost right away when I got the camper. sales man requested down payment right away before I had even seen any paperwork, then wanted more. Finally when I did get the camper I didn't receive one piece of paper saying it was mine. I still don't know who to make a payment to. First day using the unit in florida the a.c. junction box goes out and the floor is soaked with puddles from and unknown leaking source. This is a brand new 2018 mallard. I will never do service with them again.

I purchased my motorhome at Tom Raper's. I was very happy with the experience and the motorhome. My problem is with the service department. I made an appointment for Dec 3, 1014 to have the unit winterized. I dropped it off on Dec 2. When I made the appointment I mentioned that the left turn camera flickered when making a turn and that the clear plastic cover on the dashboard was cracked. I asked if they could order the plastic cover at that time but was told that they would have to look at it before they could order it. When I dropped it off on 12/2 they asked if I was in a hurry to get it back. I told them that I had no trips planned. After about two weeks I called the service department because I had not heard anything from them. The call went to voice mail even though it was during business hours. I left a message and phone number but received no call. I called again about 5 days later and again got their voice mail. Left a message and number again and never heard from them. The next call was on 12/29 which again went to voice mail. I received no call back but I did receive an email asking me what they could do for me. I replied to the email asking about my motorhome. He said that it was winterized but they had not had a chance to look at the other things but he would try to get in in that week. On 12/31 he emailed that the camera was fixed and the part was ordered. I received another email on 1/12 to let me know that all repairs were complete and I could pick it up anytime. I picked it up on 1/14. The plastic cover on the dash was replaced but as I drove it home I found that the left turn camera still flickered when it is turned on. I emailed the service department to let them know that when I bring the unit in for the free annual inspection that I expect them to fix the camera.

I too have had bad experiences with Camping World ...

I too have had bad experiences with Camping World and continue to do so to this day. I am fighting warranty issues on work performed. In the past 2 years this company has had my coach for almost 11 months, just to replace a side window and a slide awning.

If these people would answer their phones and or return phone calls I think customer frustration would go down.

I think TV's The PROPHET - Marcus Lemonis needs to spend more time turning his own stores around and less time on his TV show. For those that don't know, he is the Chairman & CEO of Camping World, Good Sam Enterprises and Gander Mountain.

The service man that did the walkthrough with me was very thorough and made sure I knew everything about my 5th wheel camper before I left. Worth the 5 hour drive from my house.

Patrick was very helpful answering our questions and explaining how easy it was to do business with them. Patrick handled everything for us, introduced us to the team that would take care of us, and walking us through the entire process. Thomas was a great sales rep. We bought a 2019 sunseeker 3010ds from Thomas, we have looking for about 6 months and Thomas knew what we were looking for. Once he got the perfect camper in for us he gave us a call. Two days later we drove our new camper off the lot! I definitely recommend giving Thomas a shout!!!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!!

On Saturday August 24 2019 I was driving home to Ohio from Yellowstone when I noticed a leaf spring on my camping trailer had broken. I called Matt in the service department of Camping World of Richmond Indiana explained the situation. The soonest I could arrive was 530 pm. They closed at 5 pm but Matt offered to stay overtime a induct the trailer for repair. Matt helped me transfer the contents of the trailer to my truck and I left Camping World an hour later. Throughout the repair process Matt proactively kept me appraised of the repair process and went above and beyond his duties in working with the chassis manufacturer in supplying information for the warranty repair. Matt made me a life long customer to Camping World in Richmond Indiana.

A waking nightmare......I purchased the extended warranty and when trying to get work done on my camper, which was clearly needed, Camping World told me to go to the manufacturer because it looked like the camper was assembled wrong from the beginning. 'What did I get the warranty for then?' So I finally decided to cancel my extended warranty after having it for a year. Even though I feel like I was swindled into getting the warranty, I was assured that I could cancel and be issued a pro-rated refund at any time, However, I found a nightmare was awaiting me. It took 9 months of letters, phone calls, certified mailed letters, a power of attorney, and almost pursuing legal action before I finally got my extended warranty refund. The last 3 months, I have probably called an average of twice a week about the refund. When they did finally issue the warranty, they sent the check not to the main office of the financial institution I received the loan thru, but a small branch office located in a retirement community not even close to where I told the to mail it to. That branch was only open 3 hours a day! In addition, they wrote my account number wrong on the check! What was funny was they asked for my account number because they said sometimes these checks got lost! 'Yeah, because you mail them to the wrong place and can t do your job right!' As a result of the 9-month long nightmare, I will never step into another Camping World ever again. Just hearing the name Camping World gives me a shiver down my spine. This is a very crooked company, from the top to bottom. I once enjoyed shopping at Camping World, but now it is the last place on earth I will ever set foot in again. I finally did get y money back, but not the full amount I should have received. Because the first letters were not sent certified mail, they were never received . In my entire life, I've never felt more taken advantage of and degraded by a company than with Camping World.

My wife and I purchased a 2019 heartland pioneer Rg26 From Camping World Richmond
Indiana. On Wednesday the 22nd We went camping that Saturday for the first time only owning the camper 3 days to find a large water leak. LED light under awning not working a rip in the kitchen screen along with a few other things that need fixed. Unhappy we emailed our salesman Jeff Cook who never responded to us. Service Manger Trent reassured us that everything will be fixed. They came picked up our NEW camper Monday and said all the leaks are repaired and they pressure tested the unit. Delivered it back to us for us to find a large gap in the rear door of this toy hauler. And they removed our power cord so we can not connect to a power box. Once again A HUGE FAIL with the service. We want to return this POS for full refund or a collateral replacement.
At this point we will have to seek legal help in this matter. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

We shopped the country and found it worth the trip from CA to Indiana. We picked up our New Tuscany Motorhome on a Saturday and our Sales Rep was correct...it was a mad house. The people were very friendly, service was great but we had to wait to get into sign our paperwork. (I really can't complain because our sales guy Wade told us to expect it on a Saturday) Randy the Sales Manger let us use a Vehicle to go grab a bite to eat while we were waiting. I have to admit I did see some negative reviews but I know you just can't please everybody all the time. It was a very good experience for us! Thanks Camping World.

The staff here was very unfriendly and not helpful at all. It seems like the quality of camping world has gone down immensely. We are full-timers that use rv stores frequently and were highly disappointed in the quality of service.

This is our 5th rv, the previous 4 we got from Colerain rv. When we bought this camper from camping world we bought the metro tech 5 year warranty to protect against fading and cracking at a cost of $1400.00. We were told it is something sprayed on the camper that protects the finish. About 1 year later, we noticed the front cap was starting to fade and crack. We dropped the camper off about 4or5 weeks ago. After a couple weeks the body shop called and said the repairs would cost $3300.00 but metro tech would only cover &1000.00 and we would have to pay the other $2300.00. We called Bruce our salesman and he said he would check it out and call back. He did not call back so my wife called and he got upset with her and turned her over to Chris.I guess once he sells a camper and has your money, he can t be bothered with any problems. Anyway, Chris was pretty nice and said he would look at the camper and call us the next day. He did not call back so we called and left a message on his voice mail. This is now the 4th day and we have left 2 more messages with no call back. At this point, all we want is for them to honor the warranty and fix the camper. Once they do that, we will pick up the camper and they will never hear from us again, unless the cap fades and cracks within the next 4 years. We camp about every other weekend throughout the spring and summer and talk to a lot of campers and we will let them all know about our experience. PS when I dropped the camper off, the body technician did say the metro tech warranty is a scam . Rob Henderson

I recently purchased my first RV with the help from Steve McFarland and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. From the time I made my first appointment right through driving out of the lot with my 31 ft. Thor Four Winds Hurricane motor home, I was treated extremely well and would highly recommend Steve and his team members at Camping World of Richmond. And it doesn't matter if you are purchasing a 13 year old unit like I did or a brand new super luxury coach, I guarantee you will be treated with professionalism, respect and a concern to find just the right RV to meet your needs and to fit in your budget.
I would also like to Jon Issacs in the Service Department. He spent a lot time going over the unit bumper to bumper to make sure I understood how everything operated and what needs to be checked.
If the time comes to trade for another unit, I know for sure that I will be visiting the folks at Camping World of Richmond (Indiana).

Awful. I was trading in my gently used fifth wheel. And buying a brand new camper. I get a value for my camper. $2000 under wholesale price. Now I understand they need to make money. But to value a camper under wholesale and that much under. There is a thing called clean trade in. Which was thousands higher. I will not be buying anything. And will also be the first to let anyone know how they run their dealership.

On our original visit it took two hours for a salesperson to make conract after providing a name and phone number when we arrived. We also spoke to three other non sales employees who still were unable to get a sales person interested in selling a motorhome. Delivery was even worse once they got their intial money. Still waiting second hour for wipers that should have been done prior to arrival yesterday. Wont be back

I would like to thank the crew at Camping World Richmond Indiana. They were all very pleasant and helpful.
I was a little let down that the camper was not "road-ready inspected" (my saying) before it was put up for sale. While the a/c was cold and the refrigerator worked on 120 VAC our first night out (driving home from the dealer) we found the water system was dry and not checked, the propane system, (refrigerator, water heater and stove) do not operate and the TV roof part of antenna was completely missing.
I will need to have the propane system checked professionally as there was a strong odor in the tank area.
I did ask them to show me how the awning worked as it was different then the one on my travel trailer. I should have been tipped off that things were not inspected as it took 3 of us and the manual to figure out how itworked.
I understand it is a used vehicle but we purchased a used travel trailer about 5 years earlier and a technician spent maybe 3 hours going through each system.
I may have expected too much, but this is there full time business, i wonder if $100,000 motor homes are sold this way..
I left the salesman with a few questions and he promised to get back to me, I await his reply.

Some of these reviews are frightening! My better half and I decided to purchase our first rv (quantum rs26) in Richmond and we luckily were assigned Wendi as our sales associate. WOW... Talk about dumb luck because this girl was awesome.. straight shooter.. walked us through a few.. helped us narrow down to the one we wanted and never pressured us in anyway. The finance guy (O.G. I think) was great as well. My better half is a numbers girl so he had his hands full but handled us wonderfully. Verdict is still out on service as we haven't required anything outside of manufacture stuff that should have been done at Thor before delivery.. but I digress.. basically... Ask for Wendi Johnson... Hope for O.G. and enjoy the pleasant fella (Trent I think) at the service desk. See ya soon Richmond!

Very unhappy. Purchased a 36ft fifth wheel on July 4th 2017. Could not take it with me that day do to a roof repair that needed done. Once the repair was done camper was taken home. 1 month later roof still leaking. Camping World would Not repair it. Told me it was my problem. It would cost $7800, they would not pay any other it. DO NOT BUY FROM CAMPING WORLD.

I wasn't really expecting anything when we contacted Camping World in Richmond but after my husband emailed Wendi Johnson, she sent us a personal video showing us the trailer that we asked about. After seeing a couple of trailers and having some good chats with Wendi, we were able to find exactly what we needed and we love it! I really feel like Wendi went above and beyond anything I usually see from salespeople. By the time we were done, we were friends!

I want to congratulate Richmond Camping World for the fantastic decision to have Wade Stinson on their sales staff. My wife and i are first-time RV owners after tent camping, and I have to say it was a very enjoyable sales experience with Wade. He took the time with us to guide us on our decision path of what travel trailer to get. Wade was invaluable in helping us to decide what RV was right for us, and we are very happy with our purchase. He helped suggest what was exactly the right size and configuration for our family. He was very friendly and professional, and Wade did everything to get us the best deal on the right RV. My husband Ed and I can't praise the staff at Camping World enough. From the time we walked in the door we were greeted by very professional and friendly staff.
Our sales associate Wendi Johnson had showed us RV's in the past when we were still exploring the idea to make a purchase. She made us a video of a beautiful Fleetwood Axon that she thought had all the bells and whistles we were looking for and invited us to come back and look at it. No high pressure sales tactics, she is a very friendly professional sales woman.
Dan in the finance department, Bill, Trent, Glenn, and George in the service department all know their business! Then our friend Mike on the sales floor helped us buy all the extra necessities needed and assisted us and answered all the questions and concerns we had. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and are looking forward to traveling many miles and enjoying our retirement in this beautiful RV.
We highly recommend you go to Camping World and ask for Wendi Johnson to help get you in the perfect RV of your dreams. She followed through with us from the beginning to the end.

We purchased a beautiful LaCrosse Camper after trading in our older camper and our sales team of Wade and Bruce went out of their way to help us through the entire process. We live in Ohio and this location being in Richmond, Wade took many video walktrough on his phone of different campers and sent them to us. When Wade was unavailable Bruce was there to help in any way that we needed. They helped me work with Jim in the financing department, to complete our purchase. Wade, Bruce and Jim made themselves available even after hours to help with all the questions we had. From the friendly faces at the welcome counter to the sales team to finance this location was awesome from start to finsh. Even after our sale was final and we left the lot, we had troubles with the door locks and Wade worked hard to work with management to replace the locks for us at no charge. My wife and I will be coming here for any camper and camping supply purchases in the future, Thanks Camping World of Richmond and thanks to your awesome staff!

I can't say enough good things about this place. Our salesman, Travis Power, took a lot of time to help us with our first camper. With our work schedule, it was hard to come in and talk face to face and Travis was always a call, text, or email away and was always quick to respond. When we were finally able to come in and purchase the unit, John gave us a THOROUGH AND CLEAR walk-through of the whole camper and explained how everything works and how to keep everything in good working order. No joke, I can't tell you how much I appreciated this, he was FANTASTIC at showing us everything and answered all of our questions. After we did a walk-through, Zach told us all about their service department and told us even more about maintaining our new RV and gave us some helpful information and booklets to keep everything up. We got in to sign for everything and were out with our camper quick. Seriously, these guys are amazing. I can't recommend this place enough. Thank you Camping World of Richmond, you are awesome.

The campers are only accessable after making you walk through the entire store and meet with a very high pressured and intense salesman. I was spoken sharply to. Nothing is priced. They make YOU look up all the prices on their web site. They want you to finance a higher priced camper even though they were told I broight cash and my price range. The only good part of the visit was the free hot dog.

I've been planning for several years to make the jump to full-time RVing. When I was finally ready to pull the trigger, Jordan Marowelli helped me find the right solution. He was patient and knowledgable... he knew when I was uncomfortable and helped steer me towards the right decision. Normally when I spend a big chunk of money I get nervous and over analyze everything... but I can honestly say that my purchase felt right from beginning to end! I'm very happy with my new Fleetwood Bounder and I can't wait to hit the road to start my adventures!
