After checked in, they told us they have to make a copy to our credit card. We did not allow that as they had already swept our card and we also entered all details of our credit card at Booking. As we did not agree, they said we couldn't stay. They said they would cancel the reservation at no cost. They also said they would send me a confirmation email that I've never received even confirming with them my email. On top of that, I'm 8 weeks pregnant and this was supposed to be my wedding anniversary present
Overall, we had a great experience celebrating my wife's bday this past weekend at the Standard. They gave us a great spot overlooking the water and the city. Bed was comfy and love how the room is laid out. The fitness facility also has fantastic views. A highlight for me is that they wash 4 articles of gym clothes for free each day. Also, it's in a great part of town. I would definitely stay here again.
The rooftop bar is nice but the wait to get up there is way too long
Decor is old and minimal but is very well done and makes the room feel more cozy to be in. The room is a bit dry, they need humidifiers for their rooms. But the beds are fairly comfortable and the view is nothing short of amazing. Pictures I took from my phone when I checked in.
I got the Eggs Benedict. They were very good. Not the best I've ever had but the cook on the eggs was eggcellent. I enjoyed the food, but the service was a little lacking. It was just a bit slow. Had to wait little to get the sugar for my coffee, for then to take my order, etc. But the wait staff was friendly. I'd go again.
Lots of good things but walls are paper thin so whatever happens next door or above is no secret
Maybe even too fancy. The only downside: very expensive.
Really special hotel with great views. The elevators are a must see. The bar on top is amazing.
Went for drinks. Was very busy on Saturday but lighter on Sunday. Drinks were good if not a little pricey. Would visit again.
Great service and location. Central to a ton of good restaurants.
Located in a prime location, the rooms are spacious and amenities are plentiful. Definitely visit the Boom Boom Room before 9pm Tuesday -Saturday. It becomes a private members lounge afterwards.
Beautiful room with wonderful views, in a trendy clubby party of town. Drinks and food are expensive but not overly so for the type of place it is
Fun atmosphere, design and overall experience.
The room and bathroom were a decent size and very clean. There are also good bar / restaurant options in the hotel as well.
My only issue was the noise. I could hear other rooms around mine. Also, my room was right across from the service area, so I heard the door opening and closing constantly.
This hotel is about 3 minutes' walk from Chelsea Market. Security is not bad. If the room on the Hudson river side is taken, you can see the sunset beautifully. There is a club on the top floor and it is very noisy at night so if you want to sleep quietly we recommend the lower floor. The rooms are modern in style. There is a safe.

It was changed to one star because I said that I would send the receipt by e-mail. Even if you purposely make a request from Tokyo by phone, if you don't know the amount of charge, you won't send it. After all it connects to the manager and finally it solves. Terrible service, never use again.
Very expensive to get a room; however, the views are fantastic and the rooms are comfortable.
The decor is strange in a I-can't-take-my-eyes-off-it sort of way. With weird video art in the elevators and a kind of "hip" design to the front lobby, it certainly reminds me that I'm a visitor.
Nice hotel with views but it s more of a party place. Stay away if you have other business in nyc.
A hotel with several bars that allow you to enjoy rooftops quite splendid, endowed with breathtaking views over Manathan Bay. The building is bordered by the famous High Line, which allows you to enjoy a little greenery hanging over the crazy ciculation.
I had a fun time playing fooseball and drinking in the Biergarten!
We had a wonderful experience at the Standard Highline. The hotel was more than flexible, which was important since we had a very important event occurring there. We can t say enough about the way the hotel staff worked to make us comfortable and relaxed. In particular I would like to single out Samantha, Robert, Ben and Mark, for their responsive, attentive work. There are others whose name I didn t get, but kudos, kudos, kudos to all the Standard Highline staff.
We stayed at She Standard for our honeymoon. I reserved the Empire King, but when we arrived we were delighted when they informed us that they had upgraded our room to the Hudson Studio! The room was unbelievably gorgeous and perfect for our honeymoon! Every staff member that assisted us was very informative and polite. They trully went above and beyond! We could not have been more impressed with the whole experience. We definitely recommend The Standard!
Nice ambience, although the multitude of bar areas made it confusing to meet a friend. Drinks are expectedly expensive.
Amazing hotel. Superb location, pleasant staff, super chic!!! Highly recommend
Went at Le Bain. Superb club/bar with an amazing view and terrace. The spa inside in a nice addition but the water should be hotter. Drinks are on the expensive side but still reasonable. I will definitely go back there!
Expensive because of where it is but not worth the money.
The upstairs bar is a good place for an afternoon drink with a friend or someone visiting the city. The bar is nicely designed, has lovely views, and it's right there after you've visited the Whitney Museum and /or walked a bit on the High Line. Definitely must visit the bathrooms, the glass wall adds a decadent touch to the overall experience at the bar.
Rooms are of a good size, very clean and well decorated. Friendly and welcoming staff and great location. Would happily stay again.
Located in the meatpacking district, the biergarten at the standard highline offers great drinks, curling, and German snacks in a comfortable fun environment
Are you serious? Who is this security guy working at the frontdoor right now? He harassed and wanted to touch my girlfriend while she was waiting on her lyft! She was visiting the bar with her friends they left right before. That will have consequences
Too expensive for me. But I've heard nothing but good...
Fun time and very nice people. The staff is very helpful.
It's a beautiful hotel, great location, rather pricey, but not unexpected given the local.
We went to Top of the Standard (rooftop bar/club) instead of staying at the hotel. The club had a fantastic view, on the deck, meh music during the day, but becomes much better once the lights go down. Highly recommend going for the evening views.
My stay in this hotel was a nightmare. I stayed from 10/22 - 10/28 for a business trip and things were pretty bad the entire time. On my first night, I noticed the heat in my room would not turn on. It was so cold in the room that I couldn't even shower that night. I called the front desk and they sent an engineer to the room. The engineer validated that something was broken and assured me he'd go check the boiler room and then the front desk would reach out to me. After waiting for over an hour without hearing back, I called the front desk who had no clue that I was expecting to hear from them. After explaining the severity of the situation, the staff told me the only thing they could do was potentially move my room the next day if there was space. Makes sense, it was last minute and 11pm at night so I asked if they could bring me blankets in the interim since no one else offered any other current solutions and I had to sleep in a freezing room. The next day, I had to use the sun to heat up the room and ended up working from the hotel that morning (missing a conference) while I waited to hear back on if they could move me. I packed my things and was moved to another room around 2pm. The other room ended up being 90 degrees, but since I had missed most of my conference that day, I decided to turn the thermostat down myself and leave for work and handle the situation when I got back. I got home that evening around 11pm again and the room was still unbearable. I called the front desk and this time I was very adamant that they move me. I had to prop the door open with my suitcase in order to let cool air come in. This time they moved me to a bigger room with a functioning thermostat, which I appreciated except the power didn't work in the bathroom LOL. At this point, I used the hallway lighting and made it work. I did provide feedback to the manager and he comped me $75 dollars to spend at the hotel restaurant which was nice. Overall, the hotel is a great location in the city, but the hotel itself does not match the price. The smaller rooms are literally terrible. In addition to the isolated incidents with the room temperature, there's no proper drainage for the showers. When you take a shower, the water literally goes everywhere. I had to lay towels down to soak up the water in order to use the rest of the bathroom (mirror, sink). Aside from the convenient location, there's nothing else to recommend about this hotel and if you value service, functional rooms and amenities, this is not the hotel for you. Also important to note that I was placed on both the 9th, 8th, and 7th floors by the end of my stay and could hear the music from the night club in each room every night. This hotel chain may be a great option in other cities, but it was a complete let down in NY.
The meeting room at the 3rd floor is spacious but it 2 bathrooms are not enough for 100 people
Great views...he wings were AMAZING....the drinks were fantastic too. The wait staff was a little slow but overall a better than expected experience.
Small rooms, trendy, long waits for elevator, small lobby
A little difficult to find due to the construction. Staff is friendly and very attentive. Rooms are small and cozy and it overlooks the Hudson River which is an added plus. Will definitely book again.
Needed a quick NYC getaway and was recommended The Standard, High Line by a close friend. The night before check in, I realized I had accidentally booked my stay at The Standard, East Village. A quick call to Andrew F. at the front desk and problem solved! He was incredibly friendly a helpful. Once at the hotel, the staff couldn't have been nicer! Samantha Y. in the front office made sure everything was just right including a few special little touches. Tim S. and team in the Cafe were extremely accommodating with all things food and drink, especially a recommendation for a lovely evening on the 18th floor rooftop. Felt like I made many new friends in the staff here and will definitely return!
the standard. nothing standard about it. located right by the highline park. checked in during christmas time so they had a nice lil intimate ice skating rink for all the families. the rooms were huge and the view was amazing. couldnt be happier. total hipster, young place to be. prices were reasonable too, about $400 for a room. not too bad considering the location and hey its new york where even the westin is expensive. every visit to ny will be at the standard!
Nice walk in An urban setting! Also you get to see some Nice views atop the line
Classy. Great cocktails. Good service, but the food portiobs are small. Bizarre restrictions re photography.
Great area, always an interesting crowd. The line to get into the biergarten can be long and move slowly but it's a great for a group after work. We ended up at the sea shack for the first time last night and the service was lacking (didn't bus the table before we say down and left everything from the group prior on our table while they served us) and I was unimpressed with the menu.
I'm sad to see reviews where people said they didn't enjoy their stay at The Standard. We had such an amazing experience I didn't want it to end.
I understand The Standard is more of a touristy hotel and it's in the heart of the meatpacking district where all the clubs, bars and awesome nightlife takes place but as someone from NYC -- Sometimes we just like getting away from it all and checking into a local hotel and feel like a tourist. Just for a day, or two.
When we got to the hotel they were super helpful and accommodating. We really wanted a room a with a tub and not a shower stand -- including facing the Hudson. They gave us all. Everything we asked for, they were able to provide.
Our room was small but surprisingly spacious. A large king sized bed with a table, chair and couch. Definitely roomy. The bathroom had the tub and a large window facing the bed. I found that cute and sexy.
We ordered room service more than once. They did have a high delivery charge including having to tip the guys who brought it up. I think there should be a different system for that especially if people order room service more than once.
Our experience there was beyond amazing. It was the best break I could have gotten and really glad The Standard was able to provide me all that I wanted.
I'll be back sometime.
Very good hotel and location. Nice room and view. Also very quiet. Bathroom could be more "standard".
A somewhat weird upscale hotel. Not fit for room sharing with some other than your significant other.
Some rooms have transparent window between the bed and the shower.
Shower not tall enough for 1.90 ppl.
Loud and obnoxious crowd, unfriendly and unhelpful staff. The place is a zoo on the weekends and over run with club goers. The only redeeming factor is the room itself
One of my favorite bars in NYC. If you're a fan of candied ginger, you will absolutely love the Penny Drop.
For a hotel that has so many restaurants, bars, and clubs, the security and attention to customer service is very poor. My wife and I stayed at the hotel the night of our wedding and had a lot of stuff on us, one of which was stolen from us. When we pointed out security issues to the hotel and told them of our experience, they couldn't care less and wouldn't even provide us with an apology. This not a nice luxury nyc hotel, i wold not recommend it for the price.
Ambiance and beer garden were very cool. Nice that they have ping pong tables out to play. A bit ridiculous with the tickets though. Nice place though.
Don t ever think going to this hotel is the worst the front desk will get to your face and not help you and walk away so you re going to have a room that you paid and can t get in because the front desk are disgusting
Despite the high prices, service was lacking. Had to ask three times for slippers to be delivered to the room. The check-in line was very slow and the place was overall very busy in a bad way. Besides the location and views, this place has little going for it. I for one, will not be going back.
Best location, its near good stores and good nightlife! The rooms are small but with good view! Enjoy your stay in one of the best!
Hip, trendy, and just slightly odd. Apparently it used to be where celebrities hung out a lot, so obviously I didn t see any when I was there. There s super creepy video in the elevators which makes me thing I m dead or in limbo... But it was hard to look away
3 stars b/c my ceiling was leaking water at one point and it was obvious it had happen to this room before - ceiling showed signs of water damage. They were super quick to come to my door but it resolved itself so the staff didn t do anything? Maybe they did, wasn t sure, it stopped and no one came back.
As mentioned, this place appears to be hip and trendy. Definitely get a bit of the cold arrogant vibe so if that s what your into then you found your spot. To be fair, this isn t the Standard s fault, prbly just the neighborhood.
Hilariously clueless service especially for hotel guests. From check-in to front bar or to restaurant this building masquerades as a hotel but is a glorified capsule/sleep pod motel that only is maybe a nudge towards "worth it" for it's views. Hostile check-in process, congregating servers whose attention span seems more in line with teenagers on a field trip than actual service staff. Do not miss being reprimanded for the confusion of the hotels entrance to the restaurant. You surely won't: we witnessed it happen twice again in rapid succession after we sat down. Accomadations are sufficiently good however the room are separated only by splinter thin doors that allow a laughable amount of noise to filter through. Hence the earplugs readily available in every room. Not giving a pass for it being a young persons playground, I'm in my twenties and even I have standards that this place can't live up to. Overall the feeling is real management is nonexistent. This place is an expensive clusterfunk funhouse.
A different place in NY. How you can recycle the tracks of an elevated train. You walk a little.
Views are great over the city. However avoid the weekends if you re here for business / tourism as it gets VERY busy with party goers both in the entrance and on the rooftop. Music can be heard in some rooms. The rooftop club can go on till 4am on some nights. Staff are super friendly and very accommodating. Room service is expensive, 7 delivery fee for a $6 cup of tea! Kettles are not provided and there is nowhere to get a tea in the morning (6am).
The room itself is fine. I ve got a great view of the river and the city. The window can be opened to let in fresh air or noise if you hate it being too quiet when you sleep. Everything is weirdly low. I m 6 1 and feel like a giant in the room. The bed is comfortable. They seem to be trying a bit too hard with their red phone line to the Congressional switchboard and the copy of 1984 they encourage you to steal (for a $10 room charge, of course). But I have to give them props for at least trying. A hotel just isn t where I want to get my daily dose of activism.
Get into the hotel is difficult. I went in through the employee entrance first because there s no clear sign for the hotel entrance. Then I ended up at the gift shop entrance. Then finally at the front desk. The person who checked me in just kept walking off to a back room during the check in process. I guess he had something more important to deal with.
Now let s talk about the bathroom. It s split in two. Toilet is in a closet. Sink is outside the toilet. That s to the left as you enter the room. To the right is a room with the shower and the tub. And a tiny nightlight. The shower tile is black, so that makes it even darker. There are blinds you can open, but they don t let much more light into the shower. And since it s trendy to not have doors on showers these days, water splashes out onto the carpet by the door. And if you prefer privacy when you shower or you need to get up before your partner to shower without waking them up, that s impossible do to the lack of light or a door for the shower.
Mid century modern hotel close to the Google office.
Spent 8 nights there and loved every minute. The room was simple, small, but felt spacious. Very clean. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Easy access to the Boom Boom Room above with fantastic restaurants and lounges below.
Our room was very nice we stayed on the 14 the floor. The noise from the night club above was a little excessive, but we are just used to quieter places. Check in was ok, we didn't really feel welcomed kind of got a rushed feeling.overall our stay was fine, nothing really outstanding.
