A magical bar overlooking Manhattan, the Hudson River and New Jersey. You have to go there for the sunset. Think about taking a jacket it's cool.

Unfortunately this time my stay was terrible. I found out my room being too noisy... Bathroom fan working loudly all the time and also music/base from the club on top of the building until 3am most of the nights. I think this was my last stay here.

The rooms have incredible views of Manhattan and the surrounding area. They are clean and reasonably spacious. The gym at the top also has pretty incredible views while you are on the equipment. My only minor complaint is that the elevators all have a strange film montage playing that grew pretty tiring over the course of a week.

Dapper.

Hotel very design, very beautiful, retro and practical with a beer covered both summer and winter. The staff is dedicated and friendly. Nevertheless, I sleep on the fourteenth floor and hear the bass of the disco all night long. It is extremely unpleasant especially for a hotel like this. The bathtub had a small joint problem but most importantly, it does not heat up quickly and we are happy to have a bathrobe available Superb view on the one World. Bar rooftop rather classy. The fire alarm went off for nothing in the middle of the night ... and we hear loud when the neighbor above takes a shower. Trendy nightclub with a bathtub in the middle

Love to come back... just stayed there last week again and love it everytime a bit more. The basic rooms are small, but super functional, great design and positive vibe. Already taking the elevator up is an amazing experience.... drinks at the roof top bar and drinks at the beergarden downstairs are great & lots of fun. Great location & one of my favorite hotels. I will be back soon!

Excellent stay for NYC. Wonderful neighborhood. Vibrant scene right next to the hotel. Room service knocked on the doors at 8am! If you are treveling from the west coast, not great, but easy to overlook if for the location.

Beautiful view of the Hudson River is the way to go at this gorgeous location. I got the Hudson suite king size bed, huge tub, rain shower head in shower. The service there was on point staff was helpful, premium channels were complimentary.

Has classic charm. The price is great and the staff are very kind. The hotel IS DATED so don't expect shiny new. Some floors are updated, some are not. The hotel has been around for a long time, if you are looking for a vintage vibe at a good price I had a lot of fun staying here. The location is great.

We ate at the bar, and the service was phenomenal! Until the dessert it was impressive. I recommend the "deal closer" but mini, unless they share it between three or four people. I'll be back soon!

The quality of the rooms is deteriorating compared with my previous experience and the attitude from the personnel is a bit more arrogant. The location if absolutely great of course.

Hotel well located and away from traffic noise. Small bedroom, king bed stuck on a wall (so only one bedside table), ordinary bathroom (no privacy for the shower as it is open to the bedroom), no coffee maker in the bedroom and a lousy view if you don't are on the wrong side of the building. Quite expensive but it's NY. The bar on the top floor is worth a visit. The service at the outdoor bar is almost non-existent (we left because too long to be served).

This hotel has it all. Wonderful views, great bar and music, excellent restaurant, close to shopping, Chelsea market, next door to the fantastic Whitney museum, and is the end of the High Line. Perfect location for a visit to NYC. The Gymn gives a phenomenal view of the city as well.

During my stay I found an open red bull in the fridge, food crusted on the edge of the living room table, holes in the duvet cover, and the shower would not drain properly, which is open to the rest of the bathroom, so I had to mop it up with towels. I informed the front desk of the red bull as soon as I noticed it. Right before checkout I saw an open seltzer water on the shelf, and upon checkout I found I had been charged for $60 of mini fridge items, which they did remove from my bill. However, the next day after I left, I got another charge for $75 of items that I did not have either. Not only is it unsanitary to leave items from previous visitors, but it seems to have caused a lot of confusion.

On top of that wifi was slow, room service food was cold and soaked in grease, but at least the staff was nice.

Edit:
While the hotel was very helpful with the first accidental charge, they were not as kind with the second. I was charged for a $55 bottle of tequila among other items. When trying to get a refund I was redirected to a phone line that would not pick up. I was able to get slow responses through email. Through those emails, I was told that the staff confirmed the removal of the items and that the housekeeping follows up with what was taken out of the room after the stay. I understand how mini-fridge charges work, but I didn't touch those items. They were condescending and said they would do an adjustment as a one time courtesy. It is not a favor for me when you incorrectly charged me for items I did not consume and were probably not in the room in the first place. I see other reviews stating the same problems. Please fix your system. When there are open items in the room on arrival, you obviously aren't tracking your mini-bar properly.

Incredibly cool hotel. Very hip. Rooms were unusually large for a NYC hotel. Staff were very nice and helpful. Location can not be beat. One warning - this is a very "social" hotel which feels like it's part of the club scene. I'd stay here again !

Overpriced. I'll give one star for the good location, and for the views of the river (if you happen to be on the good side of the hotel). Insulation isn't great due to the large windows I guess, so rooms tend to get very cold in the winter. Rooms are very very small and equipped with the very minimum. Lack of storage places (the minibar / food counter takes way too much space), no luggage rack. Bathrooms aren't comfortable, the bath tub is too high, and the water doesn't drain. Some mold in the rooms. Despite the smiles, the staff wasn't helpful for requests other than checking/checkout. Even arrogant at times: I was told I didn't know how to use the air conditioning system when I reported a problem with it. it took them 2 days to send someone up. It also took them 24 hours to clear the snow from the entrance of the hotel after the storm, so patience you must have with them. The good news is: you don't need to spend the night there to enjoy the view and have a good time. They have a very nice bar at the top with a great mixologist (The living room).

Really good location, far from midtown crowds but full of dining and shopping options. Rooms are cool and stylish, with great views, but miss some simple practicalities like a trash can in the bathroom and places to hang towels. Staff is not among the friendliest I've seen, but not too bad. Overall, it was a good choice.

From the delicious smooth old time jazz playing live in the bar to the breathtaking views of jersey, empire state, financial district you name it this place has it!
Simply stunning. And an amazing selection of cocktails and gorgeous food.

My cousin got married here. The room given to them was gorgeous (and a hella upgrade) - we used that to get ready. The Hudson terrace area where the ceremony was held was very nice, as was the reception hall. The food and drinks were awesome.

I would give them no star if I had the option. Rooms are subpar .
1. No drawers to put away clothes
2. Dry cleaning issues (Sent clothes to dry cleaning, had returned dirty and wet).
3. Upstairs bar not available both days of the weekend for private events)
4. phones cut out and could not call for room service or to reach concierge.

It is overpriced, pretentious, and poorly served. The staff were rude, the room was cold, the lights were broken. There is a stupid bath tub in the middle of the room. Everything is inconvenient. They even charged the water we took from the mini bar.

My Standard Highline experience was fine. The location is good and trendy but not that useful for accessing drug/convenience stores or getting to other parts of the city. The staff was fine, but not particularly welcoming or helpful. The room (an upgraded room with a river view) was a bit cramped and underwhelmingly styled. The shower/bathroom combo made it tricky, if not impossible, not to get the entire bathroom soaked during a shower. Including the area in front of the sink. I'm not sure what type of person this hotel is actually geared towards, but I'm betting they're super trendy. Credit is due in that the hotel room was clean, fairly modern (not in style, though), had a good view, and was not outrageously priced. The hotel appears to be more geared towards being an outing/night club venue. I wouldn't stay here again.

A must-stay in New York. In the Meatpacking district, a very cool neighborhood, this hotel is like a turistic attraction nowadays. In front of the Hudson River (cold as hell in winter) this place has a magnificent view (make sure you can have a river-view room). The restaurant is a typical NY style one, with good food and helpful team. On the top of the hotel the lounge bar is a must-see, thanks of its extensive drink list and the 360 view of the city.

We stayed at the hotel several times. We like the location. Hotel itself is packed with very young party people. They close two elevators around 8pm for the club upstairs which makes one elevator that is left to stop on every floor making guests wait for 20 min for an elevator. A little crazy if you think about it. Their accounting system is very bad. They put charges through when they swipe card for deposits even though they reassure they would not do so. We happen to be Canadian, so every charge and refund costs us quite a bit of money. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and were supposed to be charged one amount. It turned out to be 12 charges. None of them were correct. Spending hours after calling the hotel and not being able to reach anyone. Very disappointing experience. I would not recvomend to stay at this hotel. This never happened to us when we stayed at James or Soho or Nomo or any other hotel we've stayed before.

Wow! This hotel has true customer experience issues. Stayed here for 3 nights (NYC is great and the location is fantastic). Staff members seem to be annoyed by customers. General answers for questions and requests start with "no" or "unfortunately we can't". I also heard "do you want to speak to a manager?.." a few times....I doubt reviews will have any impact on this establishment. The hotel is well located and demand for NYC is almost always very high. This place is categorized as "stay away" on my list.
