Attended a conference there. The catered lunch was good; drinks especially (great juices, coffee). The meeting room itself was great, beautiful views of the Hudson. The terrace is also lovely for drinks but a little windy by the river. Would recommend!
Gotta check out Christina Viscas' events . Sunday evenings . . Excellent melting pot of people
Biergarten is a good time, but beers are not high quality. All about quantity here. Snacks are very solid, can't go wrong with any choice
Not always worth the price. I remember staying here 4 years ago and the rooms were better. You can tell the wear they had. May depend on which room you get, but the views are usually amazing and the location is perfect, subway is 6 mins away, tons of nightlife. I would recommend it still but don't pay more than $250 a night.
Sink and shower overflowed twice. Shower noise from neighboring rooms. Other than that the room is fairly comfortable. Restaurant and beergarden were nice.
The location of the hotel was key. The hotel itself has a weird entryway and fairly small rooms but a gorgeous view of the high line.
The view is incredible. The price for the drink is priced to match. Overall a great experience.
Simply beautiful hotel with stunning views!!! The staff was great and the hotel is amazing!! Super modern, super cool! If you're interested in having a beautiful view of Manhattan even when you're inside the room, this hotel is perfect! I had a bath looking at the empire State building, so it was pretty awesome!
I made a reservation and had to cancel due to COVID, made the reservation in Feb for April. We were never able to get anyone on the phone, still can't get anyone to help despite multiple attempts. I had to open a dispute with American Express who is helping me.
Cool hotel. Near high line and trendy stores. Rooms are small but open plan so you can see the bedroom from the bathtub. Floor to ceiling windows make it more open too.
I will never stay at this hotel again and here's the Pro's and Con's of why. Room 625
Pros:
Close walking distance to everything and great views.
Wi-Fi for Free, that is for me and it was great, no problems.
Big Bathtub for a great party. :-) I love baths!!!!
Window in room to let in some fresh air, I love that since I am from Florida and need my fresh air even if it was cold!
Room size was fine for NY, sheets were soft.
Ice skate ring in Front of Hotel, nice touch.
Cons:
Reservations was screwed up when I checked in, apparently the left hand (Reservations) and the Right hand (Hotel) do not communicate well.
Staff act as if they are a 5 star Hotel and at best I give them 3, very snooty. I really hate people like that. We all put our pants on one leg at a time.
Bed: I stripped the bed, no bed bugs but a huge yellow stain on the mattress, yuck. Bed needs to be replace as I could feel where people have laid before if you can understand that I am trying to say.
Bleach stain on carpet and some other kind of stain or something on one of the wall.
Comforter on Bed looked old and worn.
Hotel - Charges on my son's CC screwed up big time over the course of 2 days that I was there. They charged/held over $2,000 for the entire stay. He finally had to call them and tell them to take the Incidentals off totally $776 as he only authorized Room and Taxes for me his mom, which they did right away.
Mini-Bar - while some would love to have a Mini Bar in their room, I wish they would have just removed all the stuff in the Mini Bar and just give me a coffee pot. They harass you to leave a Credit Card for what??? My Son paid for the Room and taxes for 2 days over $1,000. I would not leave my CC (they kept saying for incidentals $200 @ day) as I could care less about the Mini Bar and what am I going to do, destroy the room??? Please I am an adult, over 55 and a Vet!
Spending New Years in NY, Priceless!!
The best place to stay. Great food, great views, and awesome drinks. The rooftop is very nice during summer months.
I stopped in for a couple of drinks and they were great. The staff was very attentive.
Very cool place. Design is amazing. Rooms are small but comfortable and well designed. A speaker in the room
Fantastic rooftop bar, and prices were fairly reasonable given that it is a hip rooftop bar in NYC ($14 for a full cocktail). Amazing views all around!
My first time in New York, it's a pretty cool bar, was great to get a stein outside Europe.
A splendid hotel. I had a room on the 16th floor with a dream view. pleasant and polite staff. One of the most beautiful roof tops in NYC. When I return to this city I will be here again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
It was pretty crowded on a Saturday night, but had sweeping views of the city and several bars/lounges.
Went for the roof top terrace, but was a bit dissapointed that there weren't more lounge furniture on the terrace. But maybe this is something they add seasonally (was there in April).
the Rooftop bar belongs to a hotel and is available almost exclusively for hotel guests. With a little luck at the entrance, you can come in as a man. Above there is a great view in all directions over the world famous city of New York. The whole thing is even more beautiful to see in the evening or at night. You can also see all the way to New Jersey. The bar has a large selection and serves very fast. If you want to smoke, you can go upstairs and smoke outside.
I've stayed here a lot over the years on work trips. This time, service was much better than previous times: each person we encountered was cordial, helpful, professional, and eager. Yay!
Great elevator art! Small rooms, well designed and floor to ceiling windows.
Went to the beer garden. Beer was good, but nowhere to sit at 2pm on a Sat.
Great location, attentive staff. Rooms are functional yet very comfortable. Free WiFi and sprawling views a plus
Stayed on the 5th floor and had a very pleasant stay here, leaving well-rested. My room was quiet, clean and well-appointed with nice touches such as a bluetooth speaker. Room service arrived quickly and the gym on the 17th floor has great views of the city. Highly recommended.
This is my second time staying in this hotel, it's terrific. Modern, very clean awesome view, great restaurant. In the winter they have an ice skating rink!
Good hotel, cool look and feel.
Not a big fan of the transparent shower though and could really use a tub in the room.
The view from the gym is gorgeous, but beyond that, the hotel is noisy and impersonal, the rooms small and not very functional. All this for a very high price. The staff is outrageous about incompetence and is anything but friendly. To avoid!
Went for brunch. Very spacious and nice ambiance, decent food in a great location.
Drinks are a fortune but the view is not something to miss!
There is an ideal skating rink for children in winter.
They do a remarkable job of getting it right in so many ways compared to other NY hotels.
Amazinnnnggggg hotel over the high line. Rooms overlooking the Hudson. Great bars and excellent restaurants. Beer garden!
They turned everyone away upstairs because of casual dress code at 4pm. Never happened before. People downstairs didn't know what they were talking about, said the restaurant was open for everyone at 4pm.
This place is very interesting to visit. Totally recommended.
quality and luxurious place over the standard of others hotels
I wrote a review of my recent stay at The Standard High Line New York called, "Sometimes a standard is a good thing." It can be found on Trip Adviser.
In that review I gave the hotel 2 stars for a long list of non standard experiences I had with decidedly standard aspects of a hotel stay.
Today (one day later) I realized that I inadvertently left something of value in the room and promptly called to have them send it to me.
After a good conversation with the housekeeping staff they looked for the item nd regretfully told me that it was not found.
You know that moment when you put something down and tell yourself, now don't forget to pick this back up... then you forget. It is at the moment you realize that you do not have the item that you recall exactly where you left it.
Well that was the case here. I know it was there. I know exactly where it was. So the fact that no one stayed in that room after me, and none of the staff turned it in, means that someone took it.
Thanks Standard. Not only did you give me a crappy room, but your staff stole from me. Thanks for nothing.
Had a couple drinks and listened to the jazz band. Great way to spend an evening. Drinks were delicious, though definitely pricey, and the view is fantastic. Would recommend for a special occasion.
This is a great place in the city. The rooms are not large, however they are nice and modern. The bed was a queen and comfy. The shower was a rainfall shower and there's a massive tub. The toilet is in it's own space, and the bathroom is beautiful black tile. The views are great as there are floor-to-ceiling windows. I would recommend this place.
Love this place! It's my 'go to' spot after Broadway, on my way to the Club. I LOVE the food at the Standard Grill! The drinks are to die for!
Beautiful views and incredibly gracious and helpful staff
Top knotch hotel. I love staying here when I come to new York!
Great hotel, great, friendly staff. There is a nightclub at the top of the hotel and I could hear it and the beat of the bass as I went to bed. Luckily, they provide ear plugs! The bathtub is very deep and could be an issue climbing into if you have shorter legs or are elderly. But great for taking a bath. They even supply bubble bath! Really wish they had a coffee maker in the room.
Classy joint with a clean lined elegant bar. The oysters are very good and the craft cocktails are well done. It's a place to check out of you're in the area.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
My boyfriend and I had a great time I've coating and dining some adult hot chocolate.
Fashionable atmosphere priority. The room is not bad for this area (although it's not large). There is a lot of noise. It is a mystery that there is no door in the shower room.
It may be fun if you stay for a short time in play.
It was a good experience, but was only there for one hour. Next time, be there for longer
The room I stayed in was nice, but a bit bare. No coffee maker. I was surprised with the glass wall between the bed and the shower. You can see everything that's going on in the shower. I was staying alone, so it wasn't a problem. But if you're staying with someone else, you'd better be very comfortable with showering in plain view of them
No longer a poprlar destination. With limited access to the High Line and surrounded with so many out-of-business stores and restaurants in the Meat Packing district amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Great place, great location. Bathroom is a little small, with an 'open shower' which gets wet every where. Leaves a bit to be desired. My favorite place so far though.
Attended a really great birthday party here and stayed on the ninth floor.
Extremely fun hotel in a great location.
Good hotel. Partly digged around but everything else OK.
Great location, cool vibe, good food, small but comfortable rooms.
Very good hotel in a strategic location.
Love the bar on top, so elegant and with an amazing view.
