My stay in this hotel was a nightmare. I stayed from 10/22 - 10/28 for a business trip and things were pretty bad the entire time. On my first night, I noticed the heat in my room would not turn on. It was so cold in the room that I couldn't even shower that night. I called the front desk and they sent an engineer to the room. The engineer validated that something was broken and assured me he'd go check the boiler room and then the front desk would reach out to me. After waiting for over an hour without hearing back, I called the front desk who had no clue that I was expecting to hear from them. After explaining the severity of the situation, the staff told me the only thing they could do was potentially move my room the next day if there was space. Makes sense, it was last minute and 11pm at night so I asked if they could bring me blankets in the interim since no one else offered any other current solutions and I had to sleep in a freezing room. The next day, I had to use the sun to heat up the room and ended up working from the hotel that morning (missing a conference) while I waited to hear back on if they could move me. I packed my things and was moved to another room around 2pm. The other room ended up being 90 degrees, but since I had missed most of my conference that day, I decided to turn the thermostat down myself and leave for work and handle the situation when I got back. I got home that evening around 11pm again and the room was still unbearable. I called the front desk and this time I was very adamant that they move me. I had to prop the door open with my suitcase in order to let cool air come in. This time they moved me to a bigger room with a functioning thermostat, which I appreciated except the power didn't work in the bathroom LOL. At this point, I used the hallway lighting and made it work. I did provide feedback to the manager and he comped me $75 dollars to spend at the hotel restaurant which was nice. Overall, the hotel is a great location in the city, but the hotel itself does not match the price. The smaller rooms are literally terrible. In addition to the isolated incidents with the room temperature, there's no proper drainage for the showers. When you take a shower, the water literally goes everywhere. I had to lay towels down to soak up the water in order to use the rest of the bathroom (mirror, sink). Aside from the convenient location, there's nothing else to recommend about this hotel and if you value service, functional rooms and amenities, this is not the hotel for you. Also important to note that I was placed on both the 9th, 8th, and 7th floors by the end of my stay and could hear the music from the night club in each room every night. This hotel chain may be a great option in other cities, but it was a complete let down in NY.
