As usual a caring and knowledgeable place to bring your pets our dogs even like going there
Great beer at the biergarten. The skyline itself was also a great walk.
Great location to explore High Line, Chelsea Market, & the Meatpacking neighborhood... (As of Jan 2019 lots of scaffolding around the hotel hides the entrance a bit ...)
My girlfriend and I were really excited for our trip to New York and couldn t wait to stay in the standard. Upon arrival the lady who greeted us at reception was fabulous and very help. Our room was very clean albeit rather small compared to the pictures and not much room to unpack and store our clothes. We had construction going on in the near vicinity every morning and workers outside of our window which obstructed the river views. One of the things we were most excited about with the standard was the hotel amenities such as the beerhouse and rooftop bar however on a couple of occasions we were turned away as the venues were hired out to private parties which is disappointing given we are hotel guests and when we tried to reach the rooftop from our floor (16th/17th) we were told to go all the way back downstairs and queue with non residents aswell. Finally, on a couple of occasions when we arrived back and went to get the lift to our room floor we had to wait as the lifts were slow and there were lots of people waiting. If asked if we would stay here again we would say no as it feels like you largely pay for the amenities which you rarely get to use!
Great place for dinner in summer. Amazing cocktails. Prices were high but service was great
Nice hotel, very accommodating... Great view from room
Was staying at the hotel but was not able to go to the rooftop bar le bain, as they have a "guest list". At no point during reservation and checkin was it mentioned that you had to be in guest list to go to the bar. Talked to the manager after bouncer denied us, and she was like tough luck.
This place is cool, hip and trendy. Everything I'm not, but I still loved it.
I was there for brunch. The food and drinks were great, I had the fritada. The prices were high but no exorbitant. The food took a little while to get ready but the service was otherwise impeccable.
Am just so happy to write my review ...doing it with a smile I have so enjoyed my stay. What a view from our window. We left our curtain open while sleeping and to my great surprised laying on my bed was one of the most spectacular thing I have ever seen in my life. Like a city came down from heaven, full of lights and was hanging between heaven and earth My my my you have to see it to understand it and get the feeling
Love the bathtub...deep one and big enough to never miss a pool..not to forget the big beautiful mirror to get all dress up from head to toe in a glimpse Slept like a baby in my comfortable clean and fresh smelling bed . One thing for sure I have to visit again
Cool, fancy place to eat with a group of friends. It gets pretty crowded in the weekends. Make sure to get your reservations ahead of time.
The rooms are decent size for NYC, views on the water are nice, tho the city view isn't as nice. I believe I got upgraded to a deluxe room since I had a nice size desk and chair, which was much better than most NYC rooms, where the bed is the only thing there. They really need to fix the drapes so it's easier to close fully and not have light filter in in the morning, which wakes me up at times I'm not ready to be awake at. I had an issue with one of the power plugs in my room, but once they found they couldn't fix it, they moved me to another room the next day. The elevators have odd music and a display showing a wierd hypnotic, headache inducing video. overall not a bad experience but not the best.
Great place..if you're a fan of interior design the Boom Boom Room is spot on
Right. Firstly, the location is great. Very convenient for meatpacking and right above the high line. The staff were friendly and plentiful. It's a pity there's no good, free WiFi option... You can connect to their slow network but anything that doesn't mean buffering gonna cost you. My bill at the end included minibar items I hadn't used, so be sure to check. I'd stay here again, but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.
Good drinks, good atmosphere. Needs a bigger beer selection.
Had a wonderful stay here. Rooms are small but very well designed with a great large tub with a fantastic view of the city.
Upscale people watching restaurant with innovative food.
Trendy hotel . Smallish rooms. Ok amenities. Great location . For me a great hotel makes you feel welcomed .I didn t get that . Love the quirks ! Worth a trip for the bars.
Amazing rooms with floor to ceiling windows that over look the Highline and the Hudson. There are just so many interesting quirks about this hotel. The bed is on the floor which makes the ceilings look higher. All the staff and guests appear savvy and slick. Prokofiev music playing in the elevator. I had a memorable and wonderful stay here.
Obviously an UN-Standard place, the views on the river side are beautiful but the rooms could be more plush. The full room sized shower & tub combo are fun. Take advantage of the Gold Standard room service that provides tablecloth, full place setting, and lit candle. The Biergarten is fun.
This was also a good hotel! The design of space, the quality as a hotel, and the sense of fun were created in a very well-balanced manner, and it was a hotel that you can enjoy all day! I can not follow the atmosphere of the rooftop at night, but the live music in the lounge and the superb view are exceptional. Take a walk on the High Line, go to the Whitney Museum of Art, and close to the Chelsea Market and Starbucks Reserved. I will come to stay again! I am looking forward to seeing it in London as well!
I love being right above the highline. Gotta ask for privacy for your bathroom though, it's just open.
Amazing views from the room. Room was luxurious. However, noise from the bar on top floor was too much.
I went to this hotel's lounge the other night and have decided to move here for a week. This is not a family oriented hotel. At first I noticed this when entering the elevator which had a bizarre collage of various animations and recordings mashed together making what seemed look like some Stanley Kubrick version of hell. However, it did make me feel like I was ascending rather than descending if that's any consolation. Anyway, upon arriving to the top were a couple of hostesses dressed in some rather revealing risque tunics. I was mildly aroused. The scenery and ambiance is incredible with a fantastic view of the Hudson, Manhattan and Jersey City. The service however sucks and the bartender was an idiot. He tried to probe me for directions on how to make a Perfect Manhattan and then acted as if I were strange enjoying a drink with equal parts sweet and dry vermouth. The drink prices are horrendous but they are made with a little more care. If you want to gather a bunch of adults and splurge while enjoying the fantastic view if NYC and loosely covered breasts, go check this place out.
Amazing place for walking in a good weather. Crowd in weekends and holidays but anyway you should visit it in sunny day, enjoy the park, view and atmosphere
Atmosphere is great and that's the main draw. They have a decent German beer selection, could be better though. Wait staff could be a little nicer. Ordered bratwurst but it tasted like it was boiled in water and not grilled...So it was pretty gross. The two side dishes were very good at least (sauer kraut and some kind of cabbage salad). Overall fun place but don't expect anything spectacular from the food/drink fare.
This hotel is right above the high line and has a beautiful view of the city, to include the Empire State Building. Highly recommended for couples looking for a romantic stay.
Went to the Biergarten. Great beer and other drinks in a prime location.
Great food, at a (for NYC) reasonable price. The service is a bit "stiff", or professional if you prefer to look at it that way.
Didnt get a 5 because #1 the showers have no presssure ,#2 the lounge upstairs makes horrible drinks for a higher price than what we paid in all manhattan you get a kid making something that taste like it should be free.#3 you can't get into the lounge without reservations or the club we had to BOSS our way into the club after all the fuss it was lame compared to what we have down in miami..or anywhere itwas empty..Why not open up to your own guests? Why give them such a hard time to get into a place they paid over 500 a night to stay at when its dead on a positive note clean hotel we loved the elevators they are like being inside a cirque de sole...staff was informative most of the time..The area is good as well alot to eat and time square is 10 mins away by cab or subway..
The place is okay. Too much hype around this place.
Great hotel, great location right in the high line! Has some nice bars and an amazing roof terrace. Next door to the Whitney art museum.
Two great rooftop bars and a bit of a crazy reputation with its views from the highline :)
In a very optimal location and the service was great. Came here for New year's so it was a bit overcrowded but would definitely stay again.
Service was terrible, original waiter was good but went on break and waitress covering for him didnt check on us once in 40 mins
