The Sagamore is the nicest hotel/resort I have stayed at. Worth every dollar.
The Sagamore is the nicest hotel/resort I have stayed at. Worth every dollar.
Beautiful, scenic area. Very great accommodations ,great service.
Enjoyed my stay there. Very elegant place with a price to match
Third year of attending the ice bar event. Such a wonderful time. Would enjoy a few more ice sculptures but overall amazing!
The hotel is beautiful but the staff is even greater! Everyone there was so kind and made our stay in Miami so much more enjoyable.

It had amazing food quality and the dishes are great, if you want something from the kids you should get mac and cheese, it tastes delicious.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, good food. I stayed in the main hotel so I can only comment on that, but the room was clean and nicely appointed.
Take a walk through it... gorgeous place.. expensive'expensive
The amenities at Sagamore were top notch with staff literally at your service. The food the views the ship the pool the rooms all aces you won't be disappointed.
You never regret going there. It has everything. One of the best resort i have been at.
Everything at the Sagamore is beautiful and special. A 'winter's lunch' overlooking Lake George was magical!
I am 48yrs old. I have been a guest at the Sagamore in the past. My experience as a guest years ago was nothing to write home about it was fine but average. I have many years in the hospitality industry but I am not a hotel/restaurant snob. I have the deepest appreciation for a job well done whether the venue is the local greasy spoon or a luxury spot in the neighborhood.I can camp in a tent just as easily as staying at the Sagamore. But my last experience here was just pathetic.
We visited the Sagamore last night for Lake George Restaurant Week We made reservations the week before ( we were told they had no available seating for June 9th. Which I wonder now if that was because we mentioned the promotional menu) Our reservation included our contact number. On June14th when we arrived, we were seated and then informed that there had been a mistake made by the Lake George Chamber of Commerce and that the Sagamore was only participating for a portion of restaurant week. The party next to us were also locals that had made their reservation days prior, they did not receive a courtesy call either. The manager came out to apologize however his "hands were tied" We also spoke to the GM who offered to make us a reservation in another restaurant. The dining room was empty, the promotional menu was the same offerings on the regular menu. The profit margin for an item would have been the same profit margin that the Sagamore was willing to accept for Mon-Thurs. I worked in the service industry in Lake George and Bolton for almost 30 years and many years booking national trade shows. I would call this the worst example of customer relations I have ever encountered. Sadly for the Sagamore one of the members of our party is a Luxury Travel agent who has booked their $800+ a night rooms for her clients. Guessing she was less than impressed with your level of service. We were told that Restaurant week ended on Thursday June 16th by Sagamore management. We showed management the website, they blamed the Chamber and again, told us there was just nothing they could do. I ran a business I Bolton and was a chamber member. Promotions are clearly defined. When a business takes advantage of a promotion that the Chamber is advertising for you that would mean you participate for the entire time of the event. Every other Restaurant that participated honored the schedule they signed on to. June 9-June 15, 2013. Three words, BAD BUSINESS SAGAMORE. The Sagamore Resort had our contact number yet never attempted contacted us to say that we would not be able to take advantage of this promotion. We made plans around this promotion, drove quiet a distance and left hungry and shocked at the horrible level of service in a hotel that is considered premier hotel. It was a classic bait and switch.
Our leaving had nothing to do with affordability, it was principle. Did they really expect us to stay and enjoy a meal advertised for one price, then offer to us at an inflated price? If they had even bothered to offer our party ANYTHING to compensate for the "mistake" that obviously was not OUR mistake, we would have stayed. The we don't care what the advertisement said, we don't care that you drove here or that you are local or book rooms for us and tough luck for you attitude was just insulting. Again BAD BUSINESS.
We left and went to another locally owned restaurant where we happily spent 3 times the amount we had planned on. We had a great meal and great service. Our wait was longer than we were told on our arrival and guess what? They apologized for our wait and offered a free appetizer. Thank you Brunetto's you were more than accommodating taking us without reservation.
Beautiful location on the water. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and had beautiful view of the lake.
We had dinner downstairs at the pub, after trying to hey in down by the water but being turned away for not having reservations. Dinner was tasty and filling, and the view was beautiful.
Great resort and great location. The resort is surrounded by the lake and it's the visual definition of peace. Just a tip - everything is closed in November/most of fall.
Will be back for the summer!
Just beautiful. You cannot find a lovelier place in New England. The service is great and the hotel amazing.
I booked a trip here over Valentines Day Weekend and it was even more amazing than I expected. The pool and rec room were very nice and fun to hang out in. The food was the best and I couldn't of asked for any better service. I am very pleased with the Sagamore and recommend you stay there.
Fun time at the ice bar! Beautiful spot and view of the lake.
I've never written a negative review in my life. That is about to change. The Sagamore was the complete opposite of what I thought it was going to be. We wanted to treat ourselves by staying at a 4 star hotel, and we were very excited to do so. The price per night is very expensive, which is fine, as long as you're able to deliver. Upon arrival we were told that there would be no turn down service/Housekeeping because of Covid. Not an ideal start, but we understood. Just wish they would have told us that when we booked, and not when we checked in.
Now the service.....The service at the hotel was beyond horrible. We were with 2 other families and 4 young kids. The food commonly took over an hour and 15 minutes to come out. They often forgot our soups and salads and when we told them not to worry about it, they would just bring it out with the dinner and keep it on the final bill. Never once did anyone ever apologize to us for the delay. Another dinner took over an hour and 40 minutes to get the food. Two of the kids fell asleep at the table, and we had to wrap their meals up and take it back to the room.
One time at lunch we were seated at a table that was broken. Half of the table was slanted and the drinks kept sliding off the table. We asked the waiter if there was a way to fix it, and he just chuckled and said "it's been broken all season long. Not gonna be fixed any time soon."
Op top of the horrendous service, there were about 10 yellow jacket bees around your table at all times. We were told that 14 guests had been stung in the 5 night stay that we had there.
Then finally we had gone to play golf at the sagamore, which is very expensive. I got hurt on the 2nd hole of the day. It was bad weather out and I slipped on the cart path and pulled my neck badly. My friend had to take me to an urgent care, so we went back up to the car. A man from Sagamore came out (probably to see if I was looking to sue, which I would never do) And I just explained to him that I got hurt and was headed to the hospital or urgent care and we couldn't continue playing. Instead of saying wow I'm so sorry, I hope you feel better and we will refund your money - he simply said "wow that's a waste of an expensive day." I was in excruciating pain otherwise I might have had some words with the man, but you just would have thought they would have refunded our money, or at the very least charged us much much less considering we played ONE hole.
Overall it just is not worth the price of admission. Head over to an AirBnB or another hotel for $175 per night. I wont be staying at the Sagamore ever again.
We had dinner at La Bella Vita at the Sagamore and were not disappointed. Between 5 different dishes and 2 appetizers, everything was delicious. We opted for outdoor covered seating which has a very nice view. When rain started rolling in, the servers very quickly offered to move us to a more sheltered table or to inside if we preferred. Overall it was a very nice evening due to the service, atmosphere, and food at La Bella Vita.
Great location, outdated rooms, not so great service
Best view resort in George lake. We got a pretty good deal as it was off season. The spa is awesome. My wife took a massage and it was too good and she wants ti go back again
We went there as guests to the day spa, (1 male, and 2 females), for massages. The relaxation rooms for both were excellent with an available sauna, steam room, toiletries, snacks, beverage service, and showers. It was an absolutely relaxing experience in one of the more beautiful areas you'll find on Lake George. The cost was moderate, but well worth it. I highly recommend the spa service. (We did not stay at the Sagamore, we just visited the spa and walked the venue).
Excellent property must go... good for couples, family or even friends
Gorgeous beautiful scenery. The weather was a little Wendy and too chilly to go into the pool. Otherwise the hotel is beautiful.
We stopped for drinks and the views. Bar had surprising good prices and very good drinks in a cozy atmosphere. Service was a bit slow but otherwise it was a good experience.
Went for a wedding and we all got stuck in the elevator on the way to the ceremony of five minutes. At the reception the main course was cold. The tent reception hall wasn't to impressive either, it was freezing cold and then after the heat was turned on was way too hot then again way too cold. And the final issue was that they forgot to give me a wake up call. I wouldn't recommend the Sagamore. Luxury hotel with low standards.
Absolutely beautiful! Location cannot be beat! The boat ride was lovely, kids recreation, and the services are top notch!
Totally relaxing, walk to town or take shuttle. Lots included.
Honestly great place. Food is so-so, but the rest is amazing. Super dog friendly hotel! It's truly a great experience every time we go. Always excited to go back!
Only went for drinks. This place is beautiful with an amazing view of Lake George and plenty of places to sit and have a cocktail. Prices are normal.
It makes sense that this place has average of 3 stars on yelp. On paper, looks amazing. Location is great. Staff is very friendly. Pictures turned out great. The problem I had was with the average food and average to below average rooms. For the price and prestige of this place I expected a lot more. Even the a holiday inn has cleaner rooms and nicer bathrooms. See photos. And this was the second room they gave us after the first one we received smelled like a middle school locker room.
Great views, beautiful place. Poor and unorganized service!!
Our first night's dinner reservation made two weeks in advance was not honored. They falsely claimed cancelled by guest!!!!After complaining and leaving massages for the hotel manager we did not receive even an apology! The poor amenities and service in the hotel does not justify their $800 per night for a small room with no view!
Beautiful place with what seems 5o be activities and stuff to do all around but overpriced. Why just cater to the rich when they are rude and ignorant. The everyday person would be a better clientele and would bring life to the place. I kayak by and around the island going in and out of the marina and it sad that they dont exploit their resource to help the local community not just tourist. But who knows they might just dad you never see your every day person driving in and out over the bridge just Porsche BMW and large Suv
Crown Island has to be jealous of The Sagamore...simply by the view n commendations offered on Green Island.
Taking into consideration the docks available to bring an assortment of marine n watercrafts...allows guests n family a real thrill to splash in the waves on Lake George.
Excellent views of Lake George and good place to have a nice dinner/drink on the water
Beautiful grounds and lots of amenities. Came for a NYE event that was supposed to be for adults, but ended up being families with children. Food at the event was average. Still, a gorgeous place to stay.
The place is exquisite, top of the line staff, management. Great place to unwind after a long week
Quality food and drink in an upscale place with outstanding views.
Great setting. Friendly and accommodating staff. Very good food.
Beautiful place, great boat ride around Lake George.
Went up on a busy July 4th weekend. Even though they were fully committed they did a good job accommodating requests. The place is the most scenic on the island. Bring your wallet, it's not cheap but worth the experience
Beautiful, historic hotel. We love it here and go twice each year.
A great old school resort with incredible views and great views.
Hotel is very nice. I would like to go maybe in the summer time. It was too cold for me to even go out of my room. The indoor pool was big and empty, maybe because it was so cold outside nobody wanted to go in the heated pool.
This was a wonderful weekend, the service, the comfort and the staff was amazing. They even tried to accommodate my food choices, I don't eat fancy food, I like plain food and one of my dinners the waiter got me a very simple plain pasta dish which was delicious. Would come back here in a heart beat!
Attended a business conference in early October. All staff were extremely professional and courteous to guests. Food provided was exemplary.
It's always a fun time I'm going to the Sagamore Ice Bar. The specialty cocktails with nice and strong and the crowd though large was manageable. We love that this is an annual thing and we will continue to make it such. It's a beautiful property with a gorgeous view.
Nice views, food good, service not so good. Coffee luke warm
One of the most beautiful places I have been to. By far the best on lake George.
We went to the Sagamore for a wedding. We were quoted one rate and when we arrived at the hotel we received a higher quote and by the time we left, we where charged an even higher rate ($100 difference) but what shocked me the most, was the lack of service we received. It was below medioker at best. The staff was unprofessional, the food was not great but very expensive. My best advice to you is not to stay at this hotel but if you have to, check your bill and eat elsewhere.
The food, service and setting are hard to beat. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The strawberry shortcake was the best I ever had.
This place is gorgeous- a little boring for people who like a more urban feel but beautiful for those who prefer quiet and country. The pool, however was too crowded. People also seemed to think that proper mask wearing means not covering your nose- which virtually defeats the purpose of wearing a mask! I saw this behavior all over the resort, even with the staff!
Had dinner at Mr Browns Pub at the sagamore, great food and great service. Best bartender in the area.
The perfect lakeside resort for all members of your family. Outstanding service and amenities. Looking forward to visiting every year.
Just a beautiful spot...lovely little town...and very attentive and accommodating staff...
Beautiful views of the lake. Check out the bar off the lobby with service outside on the terrace with the views!
Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel and wonderfully accommodating. We had reservations for 2 nights and I understood that changes or cancellations could not be made without forfeiting our full payment. Today's blizzard made us have to leave 1 night early and the staff immediately accommodated us by crediting our 2nd nights fee which we were able to use at the hotels spa and restaurant so we did not lose any money. I would recommend the hotel for their location and outstanding service and hospitality.
The reason i ranked only 4 stars and not 5 is because i did not find the room accommodations to be so superior to warrant the very high room rates. Please don't get me wrong, the bed was comfortable, room was clean and amenities excellent. But, because of the age of the hotel we could hear too much hallway noise early in the morning and late at night. Additionally, the room was smaller than I expected.
Top notch service and a fantastic historical hotel. Can't wait to come back!
good place ! but expensive!! watch out for the fees! not a cheap place to go to otherwise is good
Potentially we would have given the Sagamore a highter rating but the last star fell short upon checkout with a grumpy curmudgeon at the checkout desk named, Lorraine. She greeted us early AM with a sour face and no "good morning!" We experienced a transportation issue that she refused to help solve as well. We must say the bell man outside was helpful and courteous during our transportation troubles so appreciate that! Enjoyed the pool, lake, Morgan cruise, the Bella Vita, fitness center and resort activities. Great holiday (except Lorraine ended it on a sour note)!
Spa is beautiful very nice on the pricey side but worth it
Stopped for lunch and the service was good and the food was ok but not great. It's still a beautiful resort on the lake but it's gone a little too commercial.
It was wonderful. Highly recommend the Spa! The hotel staff was wonderful and friendly. They have. Things to do on the hotel grounds. The rec center and historians give interesting talks and tours.
Beautiful grounds. Was not the Adult NYE we were expecting, but we had a fantastic time.
Lakeview, historic hotel and resort, God for family and honeymooner
Beautiful grounds. A lot of things for kids to do. Close proximity nto Lake George Village
Fantastic resort located on an Green Island in Lake George. Great amenities, great hospitality and grounds. I highly recommend this as a long weekend destination at Lake George.
