the people all around here are so chill and comfortable to be around which made a nice atmosphere. the hotel is right up across a few tall mountains so you have an amazing view when you walk out in the morning and the food is amazing. the food rely is good but at affordable prices

The lodge suite rooms are very nice with a wonderful view but very pricey. The lower lodge rooms are rather dark. The food is good. The drinks are good. The wait staff is attentive and nice. But there other management issues. They don't have enough housekeeping staff. Check in is at 4pm. I asked for early check in. Our rooms were not ready until almost 5pm. Plus, we are in a suite but the other room has a stranger rather than someone from our large family. Little things seem poorly managed for a $700/night room. Had to ask for more hangers, some dish soap. Very few utensils, few cups, few glasses. Everyone is friendly and working hard but just not enough staff and some things are "the least they could do". It is a beautiful location on sparkling Lake George. The grounds are well kept and pretty. There are fun things for the kids to do.

We tried to go to LA Bella vita but were turned away because brunch went long and they were not serving lunch at the scheduled time any more. We ate at the restaurant downstairs which was great.

Drove there just to spend one night.. it's almost a 6hr drive. Was not disappointed. Room was great, got to take the boat tour on a boat aptly named "The Morgan". Definitely want to return.

Do NOT stay here. We got nothing we were told we were going to have! We were told we were going to be in the lodges (short walk from main building) with a patio. Instead, it s a teeny room in the main building with a parking lot view, no More

Besides being in a scenically bucolic ambrosia of a location on a magnificent lake, The Sagamore is a spotless and luxurious place to dine or just enjoy a drink.
The staff is first rate. The views are, in a word, gorgeous, and the food is made to perfection. I had a Salmon over a creamy risotto, with perfectly steamed veggies. Others in my party had veal and chicken parmigiana, and the 4th. party had short ribs. NOTHING WAS LEFT OVER!
This place is heaven!

Stayed there overnight for a work conference but would definitely come back on my own! The hotel grounds are beautiful with decks and waterfront areas everywhere. The rooms were great too, very nice shower and a very comfortable bed.

We try to come every year and typically love the beautiful surroundings and the high end amenities. However, this year our room is so moldy I have to take allergy meds just to stay here. In addition, it has taken an act of God to get housekeeping to bring us anything ( since they aren t cleaning rooms due to Covid). Pretty frustrated since it costs several thousands $ to stay here.

Amenities are amazing. Giving 3 stars because the room quality was not good for 500.00 night. Very dated. Ripped and spotted rugs. Bugs in refrigerator. We were in a basement unit that was very musty. I suggest you request upper floors. While we spoke to the manager, they moved us to the room next door which slightly better. Staff was slow as all help went back to school.

My wife and I had gone here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. It was amazing and beautiful. The hotel is wonderful with its old charm and the lake is just gorgeous. We came here just off season which was a little slow for us but just gonna come a week earlier next time! Will absolutely be back again.

Wonderful wedding weekend at the Sagamore. Everyone on staff was very accomodating from the front desk, to the people in housekeeping, the wedding co-ordinators, and wait staff. The food at the both the rehearsal and wedding was delicious and beautifully presented. The setting, even on this cloudy weekend, was superb. We stayed in one of the walk in level lodge suites and loved having all the amenities. Thank you.

Amazing views of the lake accompanied by a professional staff, the food is always great and the service is always professional. We have been going here for many years and always look forward to going back.

Overall a lovely experience. Friendly staff and service. Food was overall good. Had an overcooked steak but it was corrected and overall good.
Definitely overpriced. Room was comfortable. Wish there was a bit more room for a suite. The room, we had one of the suites not in the main hotel, could be updated more. It looks straight out of the 70s. Shower had a few stray hairs in it, could've been cleaner. The indoor pool was nice and clean. Nice that it was open pretty late as well. I would say some stuff is overpriced but not enough to destroy the experience.

Beware. The Sagamore hit my credit card for $100 more than the agreed upon booking price (taxes and fees included) which I made verbally over the phone, and at the lobby counter upon arrival and which was the posted price on their website. Talked to the them about it and they refuse to fix it. Watch your back.

The reservation policy for this place can be frustrating, we went previously and most of the good places are reservation only at the hotel that you have to reserve weeks ahead of time. One place the Pavillion allegedly switched to no reservations ( I tried calling 3 times this visit to book a reservation), when we showed up on the 4th of July to put or name on a list we were informed it s reservation only!!! Incredibly frustrating and made it so we couldn t have a nice meal on the holiday. Despite 3 attempts to book earlier. Very bad customer relations for a place that charges 800-1k a night for a suite.

Making reservations and those reservations being correct when you arrive continues to be a problem this year. They seem to be short handed once again on room cleaners. Wait staff has been a definite improvement over last year at all of the restaurants thus far. Menus seem to be nearly, if not exactly, identical to last year. Most of the staff is very understanding and accommodating since we have some wheelchair accessibility needs. Some staff could use additional customer service training. Rooms are dated, but relatively clean. A/C worked well in ours, less so in others. Showers are narrow but have nice, posable hose shower heads which were great for the kids.

I have been coming to the sagamore for over 15 years . This year the service and operations of the hotel is a disaster. The restaurant labellavita is run so poorly you can't eat there any more they have no clue what they are doing . Every aspect of the operation from the docks to security the restaurants the pool what a mess and a shame I used to love coming to lake George and the sagamore not any more

The Sagamore is situated on prime real estate. The views are breath taking.
However, the staff were not well informed and certainly not prepared for questions about simple things like , where is the elevator? Etc.
I booked my reservation almost 10 months ago and I called four additional times to make sure two of our three lodge rooms had cribs. Neither of the rooms had cribs. Thank goodness my children didn t take any chances and brought their pack and plays. Two of the three rooms had non working refrigerators. Eventually refrigerators were brought to the rooms but the old refrigerators were not taken away. We put the refrigerators in the hall and told the front desk to take them. We made reservations at their Steak House which is off site. A shuttle took us to and from the location. Service was slow but the food was great. They do not have a children s menu, which they told us when I made the reservation. They do not have steak fries or any kid friendly choices. We understood that but would have liked more side choices. What frustrated us most was it took several calls to change our 530 reservation to 7 pm. I called a total of 5 times and finally got 630 pm. The restaurant was about 25 % full. So why the hesitation to give us a later time?
The food at the pool and lake side and the pavilion were basically the same. It would have been nice to have more of a variety. To sit at the pavilion to eat , a receptionist told us to go to the lower level to see if we could get a table. There were several tables open and we refused to go downstairs to find out if we could sit upstairs. Finally a person saw us above and came up to sit us. They insisted we get bands each day but brought them to our pool chairs at 3 pm. That didn t make sense.
The Italian restaurant was difficult to get in and it was never full. We finally got in one night and didn t understand why they turned us away so many times.
To make reservations for the Spa took several calls. My son in law said his massage was not good but my daughter said her facial was very good.
The BBQ on July 4 th was over priced but the food was good. Again, service was poor. In fact we had to chase down our waiter to pay our bill.
Overall. we created beautiful memories but we would not go back to The Sagamore Resort. The overall feeling was that no one was in charge. There was not a presence from Management, just people running around without a clue. That was very unsettling. I save a year to take my family in this vacation and don t feel my money was well spent.

I stayed here myself and had a great experience and recommended my parents to stay here despite the expense. My mom came back with bed bug bites on both arms and her back. My parents complained and they didn't do anything about it.

I went to the Sagamore for thanksgiving. It is buffet style. The wait staff is always ready to help. For what it is the cost is too much. ~52$ per person. They have a large variety of food options: Turkey, Ham, steak, seafood, and alot of neat desserts.

One of the most beautiful areas in NY State. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, the staff is courteous and responsive. We visit annually have never been disappointed. The Sagamore has earned its stellar reputation. If your travels included upstate NY please include The Sagamore.

Have been going every year..have traveled the world but love this place close to home. Now we bring our extended family every year too for a family get together...something for everyone...the grandchildren still chat about this and loved all the activities they had.

We rent a boat and just chill..

Only negative we have (and can't be avoided ) is that the weddings are noisy late into the night..so don't book a room near the wedding tent ! The music is loud..

Will continue this practice for our entire family ...love it
Note..nothing is perfect.
