Beautiful campus on a sunny, warm day. The green stands out and amazing views of the surrounding mountains makes this school a nice spot to study outdoors.
This is my fourth semester here at SUNY Delhi and I love it. The programs are worth while and the food is amazing. Teachers are always available to help if one has a question and students are fun to meet. Highly recommended school for young adults looking for an superb education.
I went on a tour today for this school and from everything that I heard they have everything I needed in a school. They allow freshman s to have cars on campus for a $168 fee (that covers the whole year). They allow you to stay on campus all four years of college and have specific dorms for upperclassman like juniors and seniors. The school and view is beautiful. The school it s self seems to have a great support system. Everyone seemed friendly and welcoming. The food tasted good from my experience. I recommend this school for anyone in New York looking to go away from home but still be in their home state. I enjoyed my tour here and hope to enjoy my four years here.
Sent, me an acceptance letter. Then denial letter a week or so later
Awesome experience for the ages...very serene, spectacular, and beautiful mountainous views.
I went to school here from 1971 to 1973 graduating with an Associate Degree. Somebody said that the food is amazing. That's good news because it was starchy and I gained weight from it. I missed mom's great cooking. Lived in O'Connor Hall for my time there. The village was small and the town was dry at that time. I miss the great times.
If I was asked about this school for other college students I would tell them they could definitely do better. I had so many problems in this school from not only the staff but my own professors as well. They took all my stuff when I left and I explained to them I was recently in a car accident I didn t have transportation to get it and right after the pandemic happened in which I got sick and wasps quarantined for about a month. They could ve had the decency and respect but they didn t I will never recommend this school to anybody who asks me.
The college looks stunning. And the people are really friendly.
Very nice drive you can see horses and cows very nature filled city.
I came to SUNY Delhi not really knowing what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised with what the school had to offer. The atmosphere and community of Delhi is very inviting and I felt comfortable here immediately. Within my time at Delhi I have been able to participate in numerous hands-on opportunities as long as build lasting relationships with my professors, mentors, and friends.
Very good track and gym, good fire work display on the Friday after the fourth of july over all really nice students and employees
Excellent school with many top programs to major in.
(Food)- Didnt eat there that much.
Library and access to learning tools- Excellent
Tutoring availability and help- Excellent
Cleanliness of college- Good, sometimes the bathrooms were a tad messy but other than that it was pretty good
(Security)-I do feel that there needs to be more security on campus. I did not feel safe on that campus at all. There really should be more cops on campus and workshops about active shooter training. Just because you go to a small town college doesnt mean that something cant happen there.
(My specified program)-The program I was in was good but fast paced and intensive. So it is not for people who are just trying to see what they want to do. It is for those who are driven and passionate about being a vet tech. I do think that some of the classes would be best to take alone to really absorb more material like Parisitology and pathology and or anatomy and physiology. However, because of how condensed the program is that really isnt an option unless you want to wait another year before going back into the program. So you really cant learn at your own pace.
The professors in that program were accommodating and helpful if you had proven you were a hardworking student. The professors were knowledgeable and know the ins and outs of the profession and techniques. They keep up to date on their medical knowledge (as anyone in the medical field should.) However, a couple of the professors in my particular program were arrogant and could be condescending (not ALL of them). They are that way because they are good at what they do but also because they are under so much stress. But for me and some other students it is not conducive for self confidence. I found some of the vet tech professors unapproachable.. But again, this is a stressful program for everyone involved. So, Im sure that was a lot of the reason there was unapproachable tendencies.
Just make sure that the vet tech program is what you want because it is very intensive. Also, if you go into this program be thick skinned and determined. If it isnt what you want to do for the rest of your life, it will eat you alive lol..
Random note about a couple professors- I found a couple professors in general education classes to be unprofessional in the light of crude joking and very out of place sexual humor. When you are 20 years older than a group of students that really isnt something that should be brought up in a classroom setting. However most of the gen ed professors that were there were professional. I strongly feel that should be addressed. It's just uncouth. I also felt that this could not be addressed because many professors did not want you to record their lecture. Which in my opinion strips them of accountability in being professional educators.
Advisement- It was okay. I guess what needed to get done got done. (for instance scheduling)
Counseling services- I did not use
Lab instructions and help- Decent.
This college is horrible. There are a lot of dishonest people working in the administration offices. The is also a lot is unorganization in students accounts and within the some of the advisors. They will give you the run around or completely wrong information. Save you money and go to a better school.
Food: Hit or miss
Cops: Too many cops for a small campus it s kind of creepy
Teachers: Very little teachers care about what they teach and are willing to help the students learn
School Activities: NOTHING AT ALL
Pretty much don t come here if you re expecting to learn anything.
Great school! I applied to several other schools and choose SUNY Delhi based on the program I was applying for, Hospitality Administration. The best part about the school is the relationships you get to build with the professional staff. If I ended up going to the larger schools I applied to I would never have been able to meet with my teachers, advisors or other college officials the way I get to at SUNY Delhi.
My daughter just finished her first semester. Overall, I would not recommend this school. While the campus is beautiful, the accommodations are extremely unsanitary. The drug culture is highly prevalent and it doesn't appear as if it's being monitored. The sororities still practice hazing for membership. After they use and abuse their pledges, they accept little to no new members. Unfortunately, my daughter had a professor who was clearly unapologetically rascist. I've never, in all my schooling, had a professor grade every paper with a personal insult attached. I highly regret enrolling my daughter in this school. From what I've witnessed, the majority of the academics (with exception of that professor) are decent. At best I would suggest if your not in the veterinary program or in the private pay dorm (Catskill) it's best to live off campus.
Worst teachers of all time. They all depend on the textbook too much. No notes, no hw and no practice examples In class and they wonder why most people drop out
I recently graduated from their Distance Learning program and received my Bachelors of Business Administration. The program I was enrolled in has since been discontinued, but I found the education and knowledge I obtained very beneficial to my career. That being said, the college administrative staff proved to be somewhat incompetent, inattentive and often confusing when dealing with transcript issues, transfer credits and course requirements. Since enrolling in 2009, there have been some navigational improvements to their website and upgrades to Moodle. However, there is much room for improvement on the student services end. I worked full-time while attending, thus, was fortunate enough to be able to pay for my own education without having to go through the rabbit-hole of financial red tape for which many students must endure. I can't even imagine what it must be like for a new college student just starting out. My advice is to read everything carefully, ask questions even if you think they're stupid, put all of you communications in email and try to be as polite as humanly possible.
College tour was amazing i might consider attending to this college from what i have researched is a really good school.
Idk about the other programs but the welding technology program is awesome. Some of the best teachers ive ever met. The food sucks though
My niece will be attending this school and I'm so glad it get such great reviews. I truly hope she loves it there and is safe and successful in all she does.
I ve seen the school myself and it s disgusting repulsive, the food is garbage straight out of the dumpster and it ll make you sick as a dog and miss classes. The RA s will charge you money for something that breaks in the room even if the student left the school for good and the room was checked for positive feed back. Wash your socks Delhi because I couldn t brush my teeth without hair in a sink. The campus does not care for personal sanitation and no respect for any of the students dorm. From what I hear the programs and teachers are fantastic, but the place itself will make you miserable.
Although not currently a student, I still enjoy walking this campus both up and down hill.
I love this university, great atmosphere and huge student diversity.
I am an alumni from this school and my two years spent were memorable and enjoyable. I am originally from NYC so going upstate for school was a drastic change in environment and people. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made me feel comfortable in the change of environment. My advisor helped me choose my classes and helped me through personal and educational challenges I faced which helped me alot. The food does need some change but it was not the worst thing. I enjoyed dorm life at SUNY Delhi but recommend they install air conditioners as it tends to be warm in summer and spring time. I mostly enjoyed the classes, my professors were very knowledgable in their fields and were very helpful in making sure I understood every topic. The resources on campus are worth going to because they do help. I made many friends and connections through joining clubs and going to events. I was even President and co-founder of a two different clubs. Definitely recommend this school if you are looking to get a good education and experience dorm life away from the city. You won't regret it, I certainly didn't.
