Stayed here for a family vacation. It was one of the best, if not the best family vacations we had. The grounds are beautiful, staff was nice and they had a firework show one night that was amazing. We also rented a boat for the day, which was the highlight of trip. I would most definitely go back.

Enjoyed the breakfast buffet on our way to Canada. Beautiful location!

It's a very nice upscale Resort 1900 design the staff is wonderful the hotel is very clean great views several different restaurants inside the hotel

Excellent food. Great service. Wonderful scenic views of the lake. The bar made outstanding cocktails and the wine list was extensive. I can t recommend strongly enough. A must go if you re in the area.

Beautiful place with nice views everywhere you turn. Sat down to have a bite to eat at the bar and for over five minutes I felt like a outsider. The bartender never said hi or even made eye contact with me or my brother and the same with the waitress. We went to another eating area down by the water and got the same reception. It's a nice place but not very lively at all. Seems like a real dry place. Not a place I would be going back to.

Just not a well run business. Chronically understaffed which leads to long lines everywhere car park, front desk, restaurants and stressed out staff doing their best to help. It appears they must have laid off staff to manage through COVID but then not rehired while they filled the hotel.
First, they entirely fail at COVID execution, much more so than other hotels I ve visited. They actually have a strict mask policy they make guests sign it, send daily texts reminding people, and have signs everywhere. But there is flagrant non-compliance by guests in crowded conditions and no hotel staff around to enforce. There is only guest-on-guest policing, which leads to uncomfortable confrontations with guests or worse, guests children. Chairs are too close together and the very small swim deck is overrrun.
The high price point just doesn t match the service level. As an example, you get no housekeeping during your entire stay because of the pandemic but they can t explain why a dirty room helps stop the spread. For five days, we didn t have our garbage emptied, towels changed, shampoo replaced you get it. At $1400 a night, that s sort of silly.
This got comically bad when one of our rooms flooded. Our kids actually discovered the sprinkler system flooding through the ceiling in into our room and hallway and alerted the hotel, which then evacuated for a few hours. The early heads up could have saved them thousands of dollars in damage. We didn t get a thank you, which we weren t looking for, but we did have to ask, twice, for housekeeping to come clean the flooded bathroom.
They should either lower the price point and lean into being a high volume, few frills place. Or keep, even raise, the price and make it really great. Either way, they need to get the guest mask compliance under control or they re going to have a COVID outbreak and get shut down.
Why not one star? Because the lake itself is spectacular and the hotel is on a beautiful property. The restaurants are very good, particularly La Bella Vita (you don t need to stay at the hotel to eat there). And the staff really are trying, but have been given a near impossible situation to serve that many guests.

I was there for the first time for the ice sculpture Saturday. Very nice place on lake George. But my friends hamburger was well done he asked for it medium. They cooked him a new one with no problem. I finished eating my turkey club when I got home and there was a hair in it. So first impression not that. The servers were very nice and the the place is very nice on lake George but they fell down on the food.

Every time I was here while visiting Great Escape, I ve always enjoyed this resort! It s easily our home away from home!

This is a amazing hotel! I enjoyed every second of my family vacation and exploring the Lake. I have been coming to the Lake for my whole life and this is the best hotel I have stayed at! Comfortable and beautiful. Good food and delicious drinks! I look forward to coming here every year!

I Cannot rate this hotel highly enough, We have been five summers in a row and consistently 5 Star service.

Loved it. Great pools, boat tour awesome, great area, lake is amazing. Service left me at ease, from concierge to room cleaning. Will definitely be back. Rec building is pretty cool too!

My wife and I only went to the spa for couples massage. For what you re paying, you d expect a stress-free, relaxing experience at a high-end luxurious hotel like the Sagamore. Our experience from beginning to end was mediocre, at best. We get massages 1-2 times a month. Also, as a chiropractor, I ve worked with massage therapists for 15 years...sorry, I m not impressed! We will probably not be coming back due to the lack of professionalism, organization, or inability to make the clients feel special.

Great place to have a short or long vacation from NYC

Beautiful hotel on the lake, poor craft beer selection at the pool area bar. Didn't stay overnight just met some friends for a drink. Big money at this place!

Nice , clean, comfortable, except very crowded , not enough seats.

The townhouses are very dated. The Hotel is nice and a few of the restaurants are enjoyable. The Sagamore has the location, but the resort needs a major facelift.

Overall good experience. However, they did forget our champagne delivery to the room.

The staff is excellent, really nice and very helpful with anything you might need. The main building is very nice and the lodges are okay, although I did notice some stains on the carpeting and chair in my room. One thing people should know right off the bat is that if you are in a lodge room and need to have cell service, you should be sure that you are not on the lower level. I had to move rooms when I first arrived due to the lack of cellular reception, but as I mentioned before, the staff was very helpful and took care of it right away.

Room was outdated and had an expensive view of the parking lot. Too much money.

This was a great place to have a large Christmas party. The food was excellent and the staff was incredible. Would highly recommend this location for any large events.

Nice property. Good location. Probably the best hotel on the lake.

Historic. Well-maintained venue. Scenic and peaceful surrounding. Food was good as well as accommodations; however if I go back I will request a room with a view of Lake George.

Attended a conference here for college, the views are amazing, food was great, and the conference was a lot of fun. I would gladly come back here for a personal stay during early/late summer and maybe enjoy the lake better.

"You get what you pay for" as they say. This place is truly awesome! The area is beautiful and the access to the lake is great.

This hotel is very pretty and relaxing. Unfortunately their internet quality is dismal.....honestly the worst I've ever seen in any other hotel. Due to this, coming here will practically leave you disconnected from the rest of the modern world unless you have anything other than Verizon. The rooms are comfy but if you need to do any sort of work from there, the room chairs will break your back for sure if you try to sit there for more than 5mins. The restaurants are very nice and provide with both great food and service. I stayed there during the pandemic of Covid19 (which is still present at the time of this review) and were doing a good job in informing the public of what was expected of them but a very poor job in enforcing what was requested though. I even saw a guest speaking the front desk person with his mask barely covering his mouth and the employee said nothing at all regarding the matter. Inside their boat tour, some people were using their masks as chin guards while others weren't covering their noses which made for a terrible and worrisome experience. For the prices they charge at this hotel, I don't think it was worth it. But if you feel you just need to get away from it all for just a few days, then it might be worth it to you.

Sagamore is solid for views. But the bed left something to be desired. Totally gorgeous. Recommended for a get away weekend!

Meh. This place is just plain overrated. The Sagamore's day had passed. Overpriced options in a stunning setting. They need to update.

A wonderful hotel! I have been here more then once, and i usually stay in the lodge. I love the food, rooms, and the people that work here. They are nice, just like the pools, boat/kayak rentals, and the appliances are great. The door gets a bit hard to open at times, but overall, it's a wonderful place to go for all ages.

I attended a wedding at The Sagamore and it was absolutely beautiful! The location is fantastic and the service was great!
