This hotel's payment system and service is very poor, complex, and lengthy. They charge whenever they want, saying it is pre-authorization. The staff at the front desk is not capable of explaining their charging process in customer friendly way (making our check different every single time then charge valet parking fee which I don't have any car). They charge and cancel continuously even when we completed checkout. It takes too long to sort out the check and payment. The hotel charges valet service which we haven't used any car there. Anyone who stays in this hotel, please make sure they charge only what you use. I am too stressed out... It really is NOT a pleasant experience.

An interesting piece of history and a perfectly fine hotel. With the development around it it's become a weird location, and as an old hotel it is very low on pools and other amenities you'd expect of a property that has a "resort fee". But it's a fine enough place to stay once.

I did not stay, but I booked a show on Monday. Almost no Asians. Show off the history of Hawaii. I think it is a very nice show. If there is something you want to eat, you have to replace it early.

The location of this hotel is superb. A private beachline, in-house restaurants and shops, shopping mall door to door with the hotel and an abundance of restaurants and shopping oppertunities within 2-3 minutes of walking. The atmosphere at the hotel is breathtaking. More outdoors than indoors, the hotel is connected to the hawaiian nature with hallways and rooms open to the elements. Super friendly and helpful staff. Now to the four out of five stars. We ordered pickup by the hotel at the airport, but were left there by the driver, as our flight had a 30 minute delay. Uber solved that one, but still kind of unexpected by a 5 star hotel. After upgrading our room upon arrival we had to complain as the room was really dirty. Our new room was much cleaner, but throughout our stay, general cleaning was sub par. Nevertheless, the hotels atmosphere and location is superb. I will probably go there again for my next hawaiian adventure. Maybe bring my own mop though.

From the moment you arrive, you know this place is really special. The grounds and the historical hotel are breathtaking. The service is top notch. I would come back here every month if I could.

Stopped at the Mai Tai Bar for a drink. Place was hard to find using Google Maps but we'll worth it! Great ambience and awesome service! Had the Royal Mai Tai and it was excellent. Would definitely come again.

The location is great. The service is also good. I gave it 4 stars because the rooms or the building as such does not reflect luxury. It's an old building and definitely has the royalty attached to it. But there were no luxury elements.

In doing some business with a guest of The Royal Hawaiian, it was necessary to use the services of a few of the employees as laison. They were extremely courteous and far more helpful than one might expect, and careful of the smiles...they are contagious! My warmest appreciation and gratitude to the staff of The Royal Hawiian

This is a beautiful hotel. The location is perfect, the service is great, the Mai Tai is flawless. You must come here if you are in Waikiki if only to walk through the beautiful halls and imagine you are in a different time.

I realized that there was no way to say that it was expensive. The location is good, but ... it is not a clean feeling. It is recommended if you want to feel the atmosphere and atmosphere of old hotel.

Stunningly beautiful hotel and grounds. This historic hotel is definitely a standout for its uniqueness and location. The Mai Tai Bar right on the beachfront was very enjoyable too, with excellent food options. My reason for the 3 star rating is because housekeeping was inconsistently provided and we had to call to request a maid one two occasions. This is wholly unacceptable for a not-cheap, luxury resort facility. To their credit, the management did reach out to me to inquire about and apologize for these concerns, but in the end, they did not offer us anything in return. We also did not like that although we had prepaid an all-inclusive stay, the front desk tried unsuccessfully to tack on resort fees. I wish we could have had the 5-star experience, but all in all, it's a gorgeous facility that I am glad I experienced.

I stayed at The Royal Hawaiian hotel for two days, it's an older but beautiful hotel located right at the beach. The room itself was nice and had a nice view, and the front desk and room service were also very good. No issues during my stay.

Only the tone is high, and the contents can not be particularly evaluated.
Many Japanese people say that they would like to stay, but they will be disappointed if they go only in history and appearance

This is the most elegant hotel. The service is first rate. Great food in the restaurants. The rooms on both the historic side, and the newer tower are all richly appointed, elegant, and comfortable. The service staff are all absolutely outstanding! Each member of the staff goes out of their way to accommodate guests, and all returning guests are treated like "ohana". We will continue to stay at The Royal, because it's that GREAT! Best mai tais in the world!

The hotel lobby and grounds are really beautiful... we were especially struck by the huge old tree filled with hanging lanterns. We came to try the Mai Tai Bar that's right off the beach... it was lovely late at night with a tiny kerosene lamp at our table, the beach in the moonlight, the trees rustling in the breeze, the Tiki torches burning... the Scratch Mai Tai was delicious and so was the mango sorbet and coconut cake. Not cheap, but really nice.

Smoking areas, parking and quality of service.

Smoking areas, parking and quality of service.

There are four smoking areas.
Two places are on site, but are available only from 6:00 to 19:00.

The other two are smoking areas of the Sheraton, which are connected by the same line and are available 24 hours a bit, far away.

The property is located on the eastern edge of the backyard and on the southwest corner of the property.

Sheraton is located by the seafront path and in front of the parking exit.

Parking is $ 40 per night. You can choose to park yourself at the valet parking or the Sheraton parking.
Valet parking is recommended, as the prices are the same for both.
If you call from the room, a car will be prepared in about 10 minutes.

The quality of service may be a bit lower compared to recent luxury hotels of the same level.

This time I stayed in a historic suite room, but only had a welcome champagne.

In addition, there are only two people even when there are many front desks, and a line is made around 15:00 when Japanese check-in floods.

There is a cause for Japanese guests who do not make any effort to speak English, but they are clearly understaffed for a hotel of this size.

However, Pink Palace has a special feeling so that you do not mind such a thing, it will be a picture no matter where you cut out in the hotel.

If you like Hawaii, it's worth staying at least once.

We stayed 5 nights in eight rooms total at the Royal Hawaiian for our son's wedding, which I must say couldn't have gone better, just outstanding, and 5 nights in three rooms at the Sheraton Maui for some golf with friends. On the 4th day of our stay just after our son's wedding at the Royal Hawaiian, the union went on strike! Wow, did we dodge a bullet! It was a shock because there was a definite lack of services, but management came to the rescue going the extra mile to accommodate our basic needs. I must say they did an outstanding job under the circumstances. Hats off to Brandy and Jullian at the Royal Hawaiian for their dedicated professionalism, and Ashley and Jeff at the Sheraton Maui for their assistance making my stay with friends memorable. Can't say enough, we hope this strike gets resolved as soon as possible, and everybody is happy with the outcome. Unfortunately we didn't get our complementary banana bread at the Royal, so we'll be back, LOL! Cheers to management!

The Royal Hawaiian is the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay at for a vacation. It is historic with monderized conveniences. Additionally, it is conveniently located directly next to a shopping mall, Waikiki beach, and the most important tourist attractions in Honolulu.
