Love, love, love! Beautiful resort and the beach is spectacular! This was our first stop on the honeymoon and was our favorite resort in comparison to the Sheraton in Maui and the Grand Hyatt in Kauai. Take advantage of the location and adventure!

It is undoubtedly a good investment
MaiTai Bar is a hit but only one toilet for the entire garden is definitely not enough

Great hotel. Steeped in history. Check in was a bit patchy. Bar service was slow. But the location is fantastic. The historic rooms are beautiful but small. Stick to the modern rooms if you're not keen on the history of it all.

If you can treat yourself then stay here. The price is a bit on the high side, but the amenities and the atmosphere make it worth it. Right on Waikiki Beach you can enjoy the small pool or head right onto the beach. The bar and restaurant are top notch.

It had a very nice stay with my daughter over a long weekend. The grounds are beautiful and the location is unbeatable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We loved the beach and water sports available. We rented boogie boards and took a surf lesson. The concierge was also helpful in arranging tours pre arrival.

I do take a star off because as a 5 star rated hotel it had a few misses. For one the housekeeping was subpar. Rooms were not cleaned and organized as I would expect for a 5 star and I have stayed at many. We also only got turn down service the very last night. I always enjoy returning to a room that has been setup for sleeping after an evening out. Not the end of the world but very standard things to expect at a 5 star resort. Also the front desk seemed always understaffed. Checking and out took 10-15 minutes. There was never a fully staffed front desk I saw despite the hotel being full.

Overall we would return if in Waikiki as it seems to be one of the best properties.

What a let down. Honeymooned in Hawaii 20 years ago. Told my wife then, that 20 years later we'd come back and stay at the Royal Hawaiian. Wished we stayed somewhere else. We travel quite a bit and regularly stay in 5-star hotels. The More

Even tho we didn't get to stay here due to RIMPAC and all the hotel rooms were booked, we were still able to swing by the outside bar and enjoy cocktails on the water front looking at the sunset, it a a beautiful hotel and we hope to stay here one day.

Stopped by the Mai Tai Bar for the multiple selections of different kinds of Mai tais. Original or different infusions, they're all great and it's right next to the beach so you get a great view. A 30 second staggering walking distance from Duke's if you want to keep the party going after getting hula pie at nearby Duke's. Will be back again!

This is one of the world's legendary hotels, and every staff member does their best to meet that status. We are staying in the historic building, and it is like a trip in a time machine. Some things are inconvenient, but that's part of it's charm. If you want convenient places to plug in your electronics you will be better off in the shiny new tower!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Royal Hawaiin, and special thanks to the manager, Lenn, for taking excellent care of us. We had originally checked into another hotel but quickly realized we had made a mistake. Because of Lenn and the amazing service, the last 3 days of our trip were remarkable. Highly recommend this hotel, even in COVID times they have their stuff together. I can't wait to go back!

Such a beautiful hotel. I loved the serenity of walking off the Waikiki strip, through the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre then through the coconut grove into the hotel. You instantly become calmer stepping into the grove and approaching the beautiful historic hotel.
Staff were always very friendly and helpful, from the Bell boys to housekeeping & front desk staff. Everyone was lovely.
You can use the pools next door at the Sheraton Waikiki and they are very family friendly with a water slide and shallow baby pool with splash pad. My kids loved it!
The hotel leant us a Mifi device for free so we could get WiFi all over the island and also we could borrow a GoPro for one day. This was excellent!
They have a lovely little cafe along the verandah where you can get nice coffee and small pastries like muffins and ham & cheese croissants. It s a lovely place to sit for a simple breakfast. They open at 7am.
I d definitely recommend a stay at The Royal Hawaiian! I can t wait to go back!

What a wonderful old style hotel reminiscent of another age. Appointments are beautiful and it is right on the beach. We had a drink and enjoyed the Beach activities. Next time we go back to Oahu we will stay here without a doubt. Spectacular.

Horrid experience. Tiny "upgraded rooms" with our view of a rooftop.
They nickel and dime you for everything! 41.00 for a beach chair!?? After 37.50 Resort fees!
Restaurants overcharging for mediocre food and overpriced cocktails.
Half the grounds are blocked off for private events so its hard to enjoy the lush property.
2 for 1 luau included in our trip was not available till a week after we left...
We felt because we weren't over the age of 80 or of a certain nationality we were treated very poorly!
Save your money and don't go to this place, you'll be glad you avoided the condescending management!
I'm disappointed with Marriot and will NEVER stay at once of their hotel chains again!

Good

My favorite place to stay on this island. The Mai Tai bar has the best Mai Tai on the island. I've tried way too many, I challenge you to find a better one and please reply so I can try what you think is better. I don't eat at the restaurants, prefer to explore local restaurants. The atmosphere here is fantastic from rocking chairs in the shade to the adult pool and families pool also. Something for everyone.

Highly recommended location for enjoying Waikiki:
+ Rooms are plenty large for beachfront resort.
+ If you have platinum status, the complimentary full breakfast is a fantastic treat.
+ You get a discount renting beachfront cabanas. Not that it s substantial, but it s a nice touch.
+ Great location for exploring the rest of Waikiki beach.
+ Beautiful facility.

The only (minor) downsides:
- The pool isn t for swimming. It s for sunbathing, or splashing around.
- The front desk staff are helpful, but many of them are new. Hopefully that will improve over time.

I ll definitely return. Recommended!

Breakfast was a bit pricey, but very delicious. We did the breakfast buffet, and it came with a choice of entree, which is nice, though unneeded with a buffet and probably contributed to the pricey-ness. I would have liked more options at the buffet, but everything they did have was fantastic. Worth trying once if you are in the area.

Service is the worst

Service is the worst
The porter does not look at us who have a lot of suitcases in taxis, talks for a long time.
I will not help.
Finally, can you help me if I work here? When I heard that, he helped me with a very disgusting face.
Just a high hotel.
Once upon a time, Seiko-chan had a wedding here.
But the rooms are small and I will not go there again.

This hotel is beautiful. Although we didn't stay as we were on a cruise, we walked the grounds which were stunning. We had a drink at their restaurant which were great. Staff was very attentive. Highly recommend whether staying, dining or having a drink.

Hotel called Pink Palace. The Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center is right around the corner, and the duty-free shops are nearby for easy shopping. Restaurant and bakery in hotel are delicious, too. Although it is an old hotel, stays can be calm.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating (one woman who brought room service to our son brought him a toy car on one of our last day, which made his day ). However security came to our door because someone complained that they heard our toddler screaming all day and night, which was not accurate. The man who came to our door seemed to understand that there was nothing we could do, our toddler was in a bad mood and if he was going to cry he was going to cry. It was just upsetting that someone had to complain about it. The hotel did handle the situation well though. They moved the couple that complained and security did not come back to our room for the rest of the week. We did like the option to use the pool at the Sheraton Waikiki, our kid loved playing in it as it was more kid friendly.

Although I did not stay at the hotel, I did visit a few times. The ocean front bar and restaurant is a great place to sit, view the activity and one of the best Mai Tai I had in Waikiki.

Even though the calm atmosphere is alive and well, shopping and dining are readily accessible and convenient. Hotel where it is convenient to go out to town after spending time leisurely on private beach

A very historic and famous hotel located right on the beach. The rooms are spectacular. Large, historic, and have beautiful views of the ocean. Staff is very friendly, quick to check you in, and the hotel has bits and pieces of history all over that you can wander around and take in. Highly recommended as an option in Hawaii.

A vacation paradise! One of the oldest hotels in Waikiki a perfect blend of elegance and relaxation. Our room was on the 10rh floor and had a spectacular view! Every morning being on the balcony was spectacular. They have a lot of great free activities such as lei making, hula lessons, and yoga classes. Our tower came with a complimentary breakfast and an open beer and wine in the lobby from 4 to 7. What we really loved was the lou out they do on Monday nights. It was amazing!! The history and originality were some if the best I've seen! The hotel is perfectly centralized with a 10 min walk to a food court, 3 min walk to shopping, and beach front. The only down side is they do not have a jacuzzi (which may or may not matter) and their spa is through the roof. I wouldn't spend that kind of money, but some people can. A great week overall and will be back!

Historic Pink Castle hotel located along Waikiki Beach. There is a sense of unity in all, such as the carved wooden door that enters the guest room and the wallpaper based on pink, and it has a good retro look.
From the immediate beach, it is the best location where you can see the Diamond Head and also see the sunset.

On vebsite is not all information about hotel, there was no any warning about non smoking anywhere close to hotel! We reserved room with balcony to be comfortable with our smoking habits and there was no sign non smoking also!!! After first day, we were treating by security every hour even when we was out of the room! They should put more information about rules on hotel vebsite, not just perfect stuff.Free food on buffet ,was very bad, no wonder it was free. Overall, not worth it this kind of money
