Everything about The Royal Hawaiian I absolutely adore. Friendly staff, amazing decor and of course the views to die for but for me overall it was the location & ambience of this famous historic place that really interested me..you cannot help but get swept off your feet once you hear the stories! Highly Recommend not only as a place to stay but if you are nearby you are allowed to take a look inside. A true treasure of Honolulu.

It is an impression that "old!" The elevator was not so good, and I encountered a problem that the door was stuck and could not be opened. At that time, press the button on the lobby floor once and go down to the first floor to open it.

We used Royal Hawaiian bakery for breakfast.
Sweet bread is delicious. Cookies are also rich and moist and can be eaten.
I think that S size is enough for coffee. The price is just under 3 dollars and conscientious.

We didn't stay here but we did walk around. It's very beautiful with the open lobby and beach front. I wanted to hit the Mai Tai bar and was told the Royal Hawaiian has the best. Well, I had a few with very close friends and I have to say out of all the Mai Tai drinks from different bars we hit this place had in my opinion the best. I would return again.

We stayed here from March 31st through April 17th. Its a beautiful resort!! We first stayed in the Historic Wing but on the 5th day of our 17 day stay we upgraded to the Milano Tower where each room faces the ocean/beach and pool areas. Each room also have very spacious lanais and your views are absolutely amazing. The Milano Tower also offer a light breakfast with fresh juice, coffee and Mimosas and each evening social offer guest staying in the tower unlimited complimentary Beer, Wine and Champagne. The staff is wonderful. Also paying extra for valet parking is definitely the way to go as it will be so convenient and helpful in your going and comings by not having to search for a place to park. And if you have bags or anything from your day out someone from the valet staff will gladly bring it to your room for you. We absolutely love this place and plan to make this our stay each time we come to Oahu!!

My Fave of the hotels in waikiki. For. The surroundings, to the property, the rooms, the beach bar and just about everything else. I felt like I was transported to the time of royalty.

Great historic hotel. My one complaint would be with there not being enough pool chairs to accommodate all their guests. Rushing down at 7am to reserve a chair (as one staff member suggested) was not what I wanted to do.

In ocean front tower, 16th floor. Everything is fantastic. Biggest complaint is that I almost had a heart attack when the maids came in for the second cleaning of the day. I didn't know that happened anywhere! I want to live here.

They take good care of you here. The 1st day we arrived and were wiped from the flight. We made a mess of the room dumping all our stuff everywhere and the cleaning crew organized everything for us. The room was cleaned and restocked daily. I know thats expected at a hotel but today most times it does not happen. The valets were on their game every time we needed our car and took good care of it. Place was very clean and the entire staff was great.
Only down side "$$$$$" but hey you get what you pay for right... Only one bad experience was at the Mia Tia Bar when the neighbor hotel "Sheraton" was having an event and shined their spot lights right into everyones eyes in the Mia Tia bar. It was so bright we left.

I really love this hotel, even though the strike was going on. We felt welcome by the highly professional, friendly (what a change) substitute staff. I'm going back as long as the other staff is still on strike!

The hotel is beautiful and we were fortunate to get upgraded to a Garden Suite, which was lovely. The beach has a bit more space than some other hotels along the area and the whole place just felt more luxurious. In terms of platinum benefits, don't have high expectations, the simplistic breakfast was underwhelming compared to other nearby spg locations.

One of the most beautiful hotels in the world. An old hotel on Waikiki beach. I've never stayed, but hope to someday. Come check out the lobby, the shops, and the large outdoor restaurant and bar.

We had to cancel our honeymoon because of Covid. At the Royal Hawaiian our refund will take up to 90 days. The four seasons we received our refund in one day. We will never stay at the Royal Hawaiian or a Marriott again.

Mai Tai drink selection was great. Appetizers were super small, pricey and not that great. Also irritating when the place is pretty empty and they limit where you can sit. I wanted the shade of the cabana with my husband but it was only available to seat "large" parties. No one sat there the entire time we were there.

Welcome to the Golden Age of hospitality! If you can afford the higher price tag, a stay at the Royal Hawaiian is a worth it indulgence! The buildings and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is cheerful and friendly. In my experience, every associate throughout the hotel greeted me with aloha and/or sir and a smile. Waikiki Beach is a crowded and developed but the RH offers a little getaway with still fabulosity beach access and views of Diamond Head. Go Pink!

Beautiful hotel and lovely rooms in the main restored building. The garden surrounding smells wonderfully sweet. If I step on this island again will definitely stay here. Convenient to walk to beach and shopping.

The pink palace is on a beautiful stretch of beach. Of course all the beaches are perfect. The rooms in the Melani Tower are luxurious, the service is excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

t did not meet expectations. The Royal Hawaiian is set up for package tourism and all aspects of our stay reflected that. Overall we much preferred the lesser-star Moana Surfrider in terms of staff, service, and shockingly, cleanliness. The good: We travelled with young children. The Royal shares a kid's pool with the nearby Sheraton which has multiple pools, depths and slides.t was chaos, but we were fine with that. I did yoga four different mornings: it was a very basic sampler class designed for beginners, but was fine as a morning stretch. Our children took advantage of all crafts (which were the same each time but they did not care), bracelets and hula lessons which they really enjoyed. The desk staff was polite and the gang at the entrance was great. Because we had a late departure, a courtesy room (shared with the rest of the hotel) was made available. The bad: The room was not very clean upon arrival. Both lampshades were cracked and furniture was greasy and damaged. Every day the cleaning staff forgot to replace something: towels, robes, shampoo, body wash, water, tea, tea cups, etc. We constantly had to call down. The bathroom was partially cleaned once in 10 days, and this only happened upon our request. The faucets were covered in hard water stains and the mirror frame was constantly dirty despite our ask that it be cleaned. We were a family of four using one small bathroom for 10 days. I actually started cleaning it myself, until I realized that at the rates they charge, this was insane. We then asked for the bathroom to be cleaned please on day 7. It was lightly cleaned. I have simply never encountered this before. Anywhere. The sheets were replaced twice, I think. We are only sure they were changed once because one of the cleaning staff made a point of telling us that she couldn't believe the sheets hadn't been changed yet so she had done it for us (gold star for her). We were left with the distinct impression that we were given the "Expedia Experience" at this resort. The staff are not that interested, and the concierge snapped at me for asking where Yoga was We, apparently, do not reflect its desired clientele (whoever that may be). It was so disappointing.

We paid the insane price for the "luau". Feelings are mixed. It is not a luau. It is very much dinner theatre. We would have enjoyed more traditional music and dancing. Mid-way through there was this weird interlude where the performers dressed up as members of the Royal Family in the 1800s. And we were supposed to clap at their introduction as they promenaded across the stage. My kids stopped watching. Thank goodness it ended with some fire dancing or they would have crawled under the table. I would have enjoyed much more traditional dancing. The food was good though, good pan-asian and some Hawaiian cuisine. Much better than what was on offer at some of the other luau's on the island: no Styrofoam plates and buckets of poi (although there was poi here too). Everything was presented well and service was good. The show was just a little weird (although the dancers were talented, had they been given an opportunity to really demonstrate traditional Hawaiian dance and not "bugle boy of Company B" it would have been awesome), and probably designed for the over 80 set.

We came here for a meeting, and the original hotel told us that we didn't allow late check-out, even for SPG Gold members like us. However, room service administrator Cecilia has met our needs with us, but this is also because of the medical situation. We are very grateful to her for taking the extra time and energy to help us solve this problem, so let us not worry. Thank you, Cecilia!

When coming to Waikiki, you should definitely put the Royal Hawaiian, also known as the Pink Palace, at the top of your list. You can't beat its location, right on Waikiki Beach. The rooms are nice (although you aren't likely to spend much time in them), the service is terrific, and the property itself is picturesque. Yes, the food and drinks are a little pricey, but generally on par with the other properties in the area. It's also a Starwood / Marriott hotel, so you can use your status here. And, like almost all the places in Hawaii, they're LGBT-friendly.

Highly recommended.

We stayed at The Royal Hawaiian for 1 night after our flight was cancelled. Excellent resort right on Wakiki Beach. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We stated in the newer tower and guests in this area get access to a club level refreshment area with breakfast, lunch, and dinner (small plates) and beer, wine, coffee, and soft drinks. This service came in handy after we couldn't get into two sushi restaurants we wanted to eat at because it was a busy Saturday night and we did not have reservations. Snorkeling, surfing, and body boarding are popular activities on this beach.

We didn t stay at the hotel, but stopped by for an afternoon cocktail.

Good spot to people watch, take a break from the beach and have a drink.

One of the original hotels on the beach...so pretty classic.

What a great experience!! I can not say enough how much I enjoyed staying at The Royal Hawaiian!! What a beautiful place surrounded by the beach, a beautiful garden and very close to the stores. In the morning, you wake up with birds singing in the garden (our windows view) and just steps away from the beach to enjoy the sunrise!! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

As this were not enough, the best part... the personnel, everyone had a smile and willing to make your stay unforgettable!!! I loved the decoration and having fresh air while walking through the hallways.
They offer you a complimentary portrait picture which I highly recommend. We loved our photo session. Very professional staff.
The pool is small but comparing it with the near pools this one had warm water and also a jacuzzi.
I noticed in google that wifi is paid and parking free. In my case the wifi was included with the stay but have to pay for parking (we rented a car just for 2 days).
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE ROYAL HAWAIIAN!!! :)

This is a must-see in Oahu. The lovely pink building is nice and I like the private beach. You can see the sea from the bedroom, shower room, toilet and all windows. You can be healed by looking at the horizon without thinking about it. I want to go again (* ^. ^ *)
