So sad that this Ritz Carlton in Sarasota has gone so downhill. Rooms are outdated with dirty carpet. Bad for allergy sufferers. Loud plumbing noises coming from their pipes and a smell of mildew and mold came from the room. I have come here twice years ago before Marriot took it over. I used to love the top notch service and beautiful rooms here but will not be back. My Concerns fell on deaf ears. Now their business is about what they can get out of you instead of your experience being top notch.

It was my first time staying in this location and I it was just perfect. I stayed at Ritz Carlton before but this one was my favorite so far. Everybody was super nice and helpful. Very chill and relaxed atmosphere.

Beautiful hotel we were hoping to host an event for 1000 people but the sales manager was condescending and treated me like our event wasn't up to standard to host at their venue and rushed to get me off the phone. We are a multi-million dollar organization, we host thousands of events every year all over the country and internationally... But I guess we aren't the type of business they are looking for in beautiful Sarasota.

First class service. We stayed here for 3 nights with my young family. From the moment we arrived the service was amazing. All doorman and valets were incredible- I left my phone in the car and they ran it up to the room before I had noticed. Pool is great as is the beach club which has a shuttle every hour. Highly recommended!

I m not even sure where to begin..A little background information I ve stayed at the Ritz Carltons in many different cities, so I know the degree of service the is expected.
May 25th was our 40th wedding anniversary! Truly a milestone! Our very generous adult children and their spouses surprised us with an overnight stay at RC Sarasota on Wednesday 5-27-20.The reason I decided to write this review is I was told 4 different times that the GM would be in contact with me via email, to date I have not received any email!
We arrived around 10a.m. and waited several minutes for the valet. Once he finally realized we were there he took our luggage placed it on the luggage cart and put it inside the lobby. We checked in, no champagne, no Happy Anniversary. We were told we had a lovely room on the 4th floor. I believe the hotel was only at 30% capacity, so one would think we would have a gulf view room? Nope, we had a rooftop and marina view.
We decided to use the pool at the hotel since they were not shuttling to their beach club. We got to the pool and literally no one was there, not even the pool attendant. My husband and I found the chair covers and towels and proceeded to setup our own chairs. Maybe 10 minutes or so Joe, the pool attendant arrived. He was very polite and professional. We decided to tell him what had gone on up until this point of our stay. He was extremely apologetic and said drinks were on him for the day! Ok so now we are feeling a little better about the RC experience with Joe. We did have a conversation with him about the hotel not having any hand sanitizer at any of the gates.?He quickly decided to open all of the gates so none of the other guests would risk touching them! That s the RC service I always knew!
It s lunch time now and we really were not impressed with the pool menu so we decided to have lunch at the restaurant. It goes down hill from here again...We waited at the hostess stand for approximately 5 minutes (remember the hotel is pretty much empty) we were not acknowledged by a single staff person! I finally said to my husband, let s just go sit at a table outside. We sat at that table for 10 minutes without ANYONE acknowledging us! Are you kidding me, where are we? Needless to say my husband was so annoyed he went to Publix to get us some charcuterie items. We ate our own food down at the pool and enjoyed it!!! We spent approximately 2.5 hours at the pool. Joe brought us 2 drinks each within that time frame. It started to get cloudy and we decided to leave to get showered and ready for dinner, off property. We had a lovely dinner! We returned and got to the room. Again, I say what hotel are we in? NO turn down service! That was the last straw for me! And by the way, my daughter who was in charge of booking this spoke with the hotel several times to make sure it was extra special for our 40th anniversary! NOTHING in the room! Not a card, a strawberry, a bottle of wine, NOTHING! I have never been so appalled at the lack of service and attention to detail! By the way no hand sanitizer by the elevators or in the room! If you were going to open the hotel that s fine, however it seems it was done haphazardly to say the least!
My husband an early riser went down to the lobby and restaurant at 6:30a for coffee, he was told there would be no coffee until 8a, come back then. I have to laugh here as it sounded like a jet in the room! The Nespresso machine was soooo loud! Now I m up and we decided to shower and leave the property! I checked out and told all of this to Camelo at the front desk who was also very apologetic regarding our stay. He refunded my daughter for the room. This was totally not the point! It was our 40th Anniversary, it only happens once and it was NOT the experience we expected from RC!!!! I was told by Camelo I would be contacted by the GM...Nope! I called Saturday spoke to someone else said the GM would be in touch with me that day. Nope! Today is Monday, June1st and nothing! I guess he really didn t much care about us!

Showed up with amex platinum benefits and was able to make reservation online and once inside was denied the room o had already paid for. 10/10 would not recommend. Also "Jack dustys" is mediocre at best and a sad attempt at a true Ritz carlton experience.

If you are expecting the Ritz Carlton that you know, you will be disappointed because you might not even find it to be a four star hotel. The hotel is in much need of an update. The rooms, and the swimming pool are out dated. This entire property is definitely not up to five stars standards.
The front desk staff are not skilled and not trained well. Don't expect one if the mangers to care or even call you if you ask for them. Going back to Sarasota, I will definitely consider four star hotel since this hotel is the only "five star hotel" in Sarasota.

Anyone rating this below a 5/5 has not been in the last year so it s highly unlikely they are truly past guests. Ritz (at least in Florida) is setting trends and creating the benchmark what younger generation of guests needs. It s a mix of old style unmatched service and luxury (and the beauty of property, of course) with unique entertainment experiences that appeal to thirtysomethings. Also, the view is fantastic and you can nonchalantly point out your balcony to all your friends who got the wedding group rate at the Hyatt Regency

Really enjoyed our time here. Came here for my birthday and the staff was wonderful! We got a little loud at times and they took such great care of us and gave us a privet room to hang out, be loud, and pretty much enjoy ourselves. When we came to the beach club they already communicated to them to serve us food :) love the communication of the hotel to the beach club. Love the fact that everyone is so nice and friendly and attends to each persons needs.

Thank you Ritz staff for making this weekend full of fun and great great service!

The hotel was clean, polished, and well maintained. All staff was very polite and accommodating. The beach club lunch was our favorite meal of the weekend, and I would recommend the Italian flatbread as the best flatbread I've ever had.

The only complaint I have is that the walls are rather thin, or maybe the doors do not stop sound well - but the family in the room next to us had continuously screaming children who woke each day at 7 am and sounded like they were actually standing in our room at the foot of the bed. Those children will be famous opera singers one day, and they can claim they began their training at the Ritz in Sarasota. We will definitely visit this property again, and hopefully have less musically gifted neighbors.

Awesome hotel. What you would expect a Ritz to be. The only thing that could be better is that the access to the beach is by shuttle bus which is around 10 minutes. Not the end of the world, but somewhat of a bummer.

I dont want to give a 1 star review even though I feel some aspects are warranted from a chain at this level. Other aspects of the hotel like the fitness center and beach club were great. I have stayed in many Ritz Carlton locations all over the world and this Sarasota location was very underwhelming. Staff was decent but not on point like I am used to seeing.

I attended a wedding. Most of the event was great but I expected better. The wedding coordinator didn't tell everyone where they should be and although in the end it was ok it could have been much better organized. The hotel was beautiful and staff extremely nice. The food was also delicious.

Review for Jack Dusty. The valet was free and great, meal was excellent, try to save room for dessert. Only slight distraction was noise from the bar, but if it weren't raining then we would have eaten outside, and noise wouldn't have been a problem.

Horrible experience. No mention of loud construction noise when booking hotel. My husband and I had booked a package that included breakfast. We sat outside and couldn t hear ourselves talk because of the deafening noise. We waited 30 minutes ++ for our breakfast to arrive. The couple next to us were seated after us and got their food a long time before us. We would have liked to be given the communication
that sitting outside would be very loud. Everyone here seems to dislike their jobs and want to be anywhere else. This Ritz-Carlton has gone downhill and is rundown everywhere from the pool needs repair because of chipped paint, jacuzzi, and dirty carpet. There was dog poop by the pool. The jacuzzi was only half full and the water level hit below my chest. It looked as if no one had cleaned it in days with dead flies and bees swirling about. The Lagoon was stinky. You couldn t enjoy the pool area due to the loud construction noise. We have stayed 3 other times in years past and loved our experience. We were out at 12 pm to pickup the shuttle to the beach club only to be told it already left. Well I had my phone out and it said 12 pm but they left early and were no where in sight. No apologies for anything. No empathy. We even contacted a manager and he was defensive and never apologized. Is this hotel in foreclosure because that is exactly what it feels like. The doorman expected a tip just to open the door for you. He has his money clip out counting only his 5 s and 10 s in front of your face. They charge you a 37.00 daily resort fee and there is nothing to enjoy.

Went to Jack Dusty's best place I'd been too in a while. Service and ambience was delightful. Drink were ok. However the food knocked my socks off. I had the braised pork chop. Oh my God. Cooked to absolute perfection. I would have kissed the chef if I had seen him. I cleaned my plate and wanted to chew on the bone. I will be back.

Spacious and luxurious rooms, great service, and a lovely outdoor pool at the water's edge. Rooms feature Nespresso machines with fantastic espresso, but a regrettable tea selection. Marble bathrooms are brought down by lackluster tubs in standard rooms. The absence of a hotel shop that is open in the evening calls for vending machines. Extensive equipment in the gym - poorly maintained.

The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota provides great service from the valet attendants to house keeping. The restaurant and bar is very nice as well. If you want a great place to stay I highly recommend you do. Plus the location is located next to downtown Sarasota so you have easy access to dining and entertainment.

I was here for a conference so I used the conference facilities. The lobby is excellent and the services provided were high quality. Front desk staff was very helpful as was the valet. Wish there were an alternative to paying $8+tip just to park my car. Made it difficult to leave for any period of time unless I was done for the day.

I was here today doing a shoot for a production company and the valet gentlemen that took my keys asked me if my truck really had a supercharger then he took off in my truck and I could hear my truck going down the road fast I and I see him out the window of the building. I then went to sign in at the conference room and I heard the valet squealing the tires on my truck for several seconds I of course was pissed but then it stopped so I continued signing in when I heard him stopping on the gas again and you could hear the tires squealing again I was really pissed this time I started walking to the front entrance when I heard it again for the 3rd time I told the manager he said he would talk to him and then said tires squeal easy in the garage, so I realized then he wasn't going to do anything but make accuses. I had to work so I worked the rest of the day and when I went to get my truck the manager brought me my truck and when he got out he said I talk to the gentlemen that drove your truck and he said it was an accident. I looked at him and said you and I both know that wasn't an accident and I can't believe you are trying to tell me it was. After he could see I was upset about the way he handled it he said the gentlemen was being punished which I know was a lie and I said that to him... He then asked if he could get me a bottle of water. I accidentally gave him $10 tip because when I handed him the ticket I noticed 10 bucks stuck to it. So I was upset I did that as well. I am posting this because this has happened to be before and I am tired of leaving my truck with people and they disrespect it and they don't have the right to do it. Moral of this story is think twice before letting these guys valet your vehicle as at least one of them thinks it's ok to beat on your vehicle. Not professional at all.

Very nice and clean, the rooms were comfortable and the views were pretty, and the staff was very nice. I didn't really like the valet parking though, I would be more comfortable parking my own car.

Staying, or even visiting, the Ritz Carlton is truly captivating. Once you step inside, you feel almost as though you're royalty. You'll find complete satisfaction in every aspect of the entire compound. From the luscious bermuda grass lawns, to the tranauil tone, soft blue tones of the swimming pool at night, everything is excellent. The staff are very courteous and well mannered. At times, I found their attire to be a little drab, but otherwise, I am very pleased with this hotel.

Very very upset the way I was treated today at the gate!!! Called in today at 2:03pm to make a reservation at restaurant and they said they all full I understand, but then lady over the phone really nicely said yes you can come in any way we have couches you can still come and enjoy full service. Well We did came but gate guy said no you cannot come without reservations I told him a story I called and he was nice enough to call manager and he said No I have to leave the property. So you guys need to have better communication between management and stuff and do not do that nonsense to customers who planned all evening.

The hotel reimagination is wonderful. The color scheme is as warm and inviting as the staff. We come to a work event here every year and we always look forward to coming back. Exceptional service, accommodations, cuisine, and hospitality.

The wedding service from aBeautifulCeremony dot COM was second to none. This is a great wedding venue with outstanding catering, friendly and professional in house coordinators and well-vetted fantastic vendors at your fingertips.

Drove hours because their spa was supposed to be superb. If I could give negative stars... I would. I ve been to many of the top spa resorts and the ritz is my absolute favorite hotel to stay at and the massage there was the WORST massage I ve ever had in my life. You d get a better massage from one of those massage kiosks at the mall. I had told the lady that I was super stressed and tense in my shoulders and to please work on that more than anything. She spent no less than 1 minute out of my 50 minute appointment literally just slightly RUBBBING over them and telling me how many knots I had. It was no massage at all it was basically a woman rubbing her hands on my body. THEN one of the staff memebers there complained constantly about how busy and rushing around everywhere when all I asked for was a mimosa. She proceeded to tell me I could not drink it inside the spa lounge but I had to go OUTSIDE in 55 degree weather to drink it. As I walked back in she was handing out mimosas to ladies who were lounging around inside the spa area by the hot tub and sauna. To sum it up: worst experience I ve ever had. Will never be returning and I will be telling everyone to never go to their spa if they want to get what they paid for.
