It is a beautiful place. The staff is very courteous. There are lots of activities to do with your kids. Your needs are attended to very quickly. I had an amazing day at the spa. The eucalyptus steam room is the best and so is Gabriella the spa attendant.

Here are some pictures of the $665/night "Marina View" room I stayed at in May 2018. This stay was a terrible experience all around. As you can see this room's view is far closer to "parking lot" view than to "Marina view." As a gold elite member, I was expecting some understanding and resolution from the staff when I approached them. They were dismissive and unhelpful. Restaurant was outrageously priced. I have nothing good to say about this hotel, which is surprising and disappointing for a Ritz Carlton. If you're spending upwards of $600-$700 a night for a hotel in Sarasota, I recommend you consider other options.

Best. It has daily transportation and premium service. The beach club bathrooms are incredible a pleasure.

Wonderful place. We stayed at the club level which is well worth it. You get access to the wonderful club and all the food and drinks. In addition you can use the spa facilities. Rooms and facilities are a bit dated but still nice and Ritz quality. Only bad experience was the outdoor restaurant was poor service. But the club staff were awesome.

Loved the view. Went there to eat at Jack Dusty. Food was delicious! Had the special which was fresh fish blackened with a medley of vegetables and rice. My husband had the mixed seafood in a red sauce which was very good. We ate our appetizers by the water. Watched the sunset. Excellent time!

Best place to watch the sunset in Sarasota. Plus they have the class of a Ritz-Carlton.

Go down and see Scott on the beach. That tiki bar is one of the best in Florida.

Can t wait for my next trip here.

Food was disappointing, the hostess that seated us took a long time ..there was hardly anyone there. No one in front of us waiting. I've heard great things about eating here , and many of my business associates and friends eat here. That being said I would like to give them another chance, but am hesitant of doing so .The ceviche was horrible in addition to the salad. I will not be having either again. Waiter was not friendly , and rude manager was extremely nice , and because of that I am giving 3 stars instead of less.

Staff is wonderful! Beautiful accommodations. There are hotels with better guest pampering (think Adolphus in Dallas); however, the Ritz is trying. Beds are not comfortable (spoke to multiple other guests who also couldn't sleep due to their uncomfortable beds) and the room temperature is difficult to control. Would recommend bringing a feather bed for comfort and a personal fan to keep cool. Nonetheless, the restaurant downstairs has delicious meals, with plant-based options, room-service is tasty and reasonably-priced and the honor bar is well-stocked with pricey but very nice options. Parking is not validated; however, if one is staying at the Ritz, does one really care?

This has turned into a Ritz by name only. Stayed at this Ritz more than 15 times, all "Club level" last year. Titanium with Marriott. Club level has been poor my last 2 stays, this past month of August. The cost for Club level is typically more than $550 per night. The amenities are worth it to me and my expectations match the cost. This past stay only 1 person working club, Ryan. Last year this time there were typically 3-4 working. The food isn't even close to what you'd expect from a Ritz. 3 types of small fried finger foods. Something you might expect from a Courtyard by Marriott happy hour. Because of Covid the Ritz Club doesn't allow guest to serve themselves, so you have to wait for the 1 person working the entire club to put small fried egg rolls on a small plate. 2 other guest and I waited more than 5 minutes the first time to be served. The second time the wait approached 10 minutes so with a fork I served my self and returned to my table of friends. 5 minutes later, Ryan, the only worker came to our table to chastise me for serving myself adding the food had to be thrown away because of what I did. At $500 a night I don't care what has to be done with the food and I certainly shouldn't have to wait to eat. Jack Dusty's is down stairs and does a great job. For the cost difference you can pay for a regular room, then eat, drink all you want you'd save money. My last stay was poor for other reasons but figured that week they just missed. 5 stays this year and they've been mediocre to poor. This hotel has dramatically fallen off. Most of the employee's and management from last year have been furloughed and it's noticeable. The special touch is gone, it's now just a hotel to stay. If you're in Sarasota for business or leisure there are better offerings. If you're looking for a Ritz experience travel and little farther south to Naples. I will never stay at this hotel again.

The Sarasota Ritz-carlton , situated on Sarasota Bay, is a world class hotel with the kind of service that is beyond belief. Every aspect of the operation, from the doorman remembering your name to the housekeeping staff replacing your brand of toothpaste, is at the highest level of personal service. I cannot say enough about the exceptional experience we had at the Sarasota Ritz-carlton. Looking forward to our next trip. Jason

The staff is fantastic and desperately trying to cling to the greatness of the Ritz they remember. Once Marriott purchased them this property became what you would expect when senior management switches focus from maximizing customer experience the maximizing shareholder value. We've since moved our annual conference to a less corporate location. It's still a great hotel, it's just that now it's a fairly nice Marriott at the maximum they can charge for the Ritz by name, instead of just a Ritz Carlton.

I am attending a conference at this hotel, as I have done many times, as well as stayed at this Ritz property. Apparently the block of rooms reserved at a discounted rate were filled. I asked if they could give the same monetary discount on other rooms, even though I knew of course it would be more. I just asked for the same discounted amount. I received a blanket "no" on a room that is more than $700 with tax and fees. Even at the manager level. The reason I was given was that they were almost full, even though rooms were available. Greed conquers all. It just shows me that a very classy hotel can have a totally classless attitude. I am very disappointed.

Great experience. The service was wonderful. They greeted us when we drove up to the front door, took our luggage. When we got to our room we needed additional seating for the balcony. They provided us an additional chair with no problems. the hotel is only a few blocks from downtown Sarasota which is an easy walk or a quick Uber. The best part of the stay was going over to their private beach and pool. I would definitely go back.

The lobby, social rooms, ballroom, and poolside & special event areas for our CISCO Tech Data training/awards weekend were percectly decadent and made us feel like special guests. We enjoy coming to SRQ every year to the Ritz with my husband's business organization. They make it a smooth, simple, and enjoyable weekend of it every year.

Had a wonderful time there for four days, until after we left. When I got my credit card bill, they billed me for VALET PARKING. I called the RITZ-Sarasota to complain that I never used VALET PARKING the entire time I was there. They said yes I did, I had an large SUV Suburban. I told them we don't own an SUV, we came there in a gray Prius. They said they would take care of it. They didn't. So then I call and complained to my credit card company and they talked to the RITZ and I assume the RITZ lied to the credit card company as well. I am now stuck paying for a service that was never asked for or provided to me. In my opinion, this is CREDIT CARD FRAUD.

The rooms are fantastic. I love that they have nespresso machines in the rooms! The beach club is wonderful, great service there. Food and drinks were way overpriced from the beach bar though.

I am just going to review service at the hotel pool today, which I am currently sitting beside, feeling invisible. Been here over an hour with no beverage service unless I am willing to chase down a waitress. There are only 2 servers and some guy who I guess only functions to fold towels and help with paddle boards (few and far between). I asked him if he could put an umbrella out where we were sitting but he said there were no more, which I wonder about as I saw guys pulling them out yesterday. So my son and I found our own shady spot, moved some trash and used towels and now have shade. Oh wait, waitress 2 of 2 was just going to walk by me for the 5th time and I called out to her so now we will finally get our $30 drinks. She did apologize about the slow service and thank me for hanging in there. Contrast today to yesterday when there were at least 4 servers who were very attentive and helpful, along with complimetary smoothie shots. Guess today just isn't our day. I get today is busier, but why not have more people instead of fewer?

Rooms are dreadful from shower curtain to artwork on walls and carpets. It needs a complete overhaul! Front desk is wonderful... As is the staff for ballet. Terrific king here but the building itself needs a lot of work

I didn't get a chance to stay here and almost missed out on a convention because if all the construction and couldn't figure out where to park. I went to valet check my car and was there for a hour and it cost me $10. But the hotel looked great was was very close to the water.
