Certainly a beautiful hotel. Everything is clean and nice and large and the location is amazing. Rooms are great. But other than having maybe nicer finishes than lower priced hotels, the experience was fairly average. I mean if finishes get stars I would give it 5. But the experience was on par with almost any other hotel I've been at. No complaints, but not really any huge praises either. Location is definitely 5 star worthy.

Excellent customer service. Warm, friendly, welcoming. Eager to accommodate, going the extra mile. Direct and sincere eye contact. Lovely ambience, dramatic lobby with fireplace. Completely neat and clean.

The Hotel is clean, the location is great, and the staff is polite. The rooms are - nice enough. BUT it is overpriced, and despite the advertising, there is NOT a pool nor a fitness club. Instead, you can go to the Equinox next door for a discounted fee of $15 per person, per day. Also parking at the hotel is very expensive, but there are garages within a few hundred yards on Washington St. that are a fraction of the price. If money is not an issue and you want a clean room with a nice staff - go for it.

Very clean and nice but we were very disappointed for the price. Not worth the money unless you have plenty to waste. To be fair, some of it was closed for renovations so we did not get to enjoy all the amenities

The best hotel in Boston! I will never stay at a different hotel while I m there. We flew in for the night, and they made sure that all of our requests were met along with leaving us wine and other gifts to help us celebrate our trip. Loyalty goes along way with this hotel / company. The location is perfect for going to see any shows in the theater district, and it s not far from great stores and more.

Big room, very modern, comfortable. Staff are very courteous. A bit sterile and boring. Gym and health club are extra. Wireless is charged per device. Zagat review is out of date. Refers to old property across Boston common (now the Taj).

The hotel is great, but what really impressed me was the staff. I do not frequent hotels of this caliber so it may be the expected level of service to some people, but for me it was above and beyond.

OK. Since I stayed here for a few days, I could see how this Hotel is so great. Customer service is world class. They pay attention to details. Fantastic hotel overall but charging guests for Wifi access is penny pinch. This is the reason why I gave 4 star instead of a perfect 5. With world class service, I would expect Ritz to be up to date on technology and trend. Charging guests $12.95 for Wifi access when room rate hovers around $400-$700 a night is beyond silly. Another downside is there's a charge for gym access. But at the end of the day, I would recommend folks to stay here if they don't mind the wifi and gym issues.

DON'T stay at this hotel. The hotel staff is rude. We were the vendors for a friend's wedding and we were also attending as guests. We had a lot of gear to load in and the valet service outside informed us that our parking would be validated. At the end of the night, they would not validate our parking and said this had to be cleared with the sales team in advance. They also made the excuse that the valet service was a separate company and could not adhere to the promise they made to us earlier. At that moment, the DJ came down to get his car and showed us that his ticket that had been validated. They would still not validate our ticket and we ended up paying the fee. I guess the biggest person to blame is the banquet manager, who is a young woman. She was not only rude, but almost ruined our friend's wedding by trying to get the DJ to leave early, even though the groom's parents paid for an additional hour of service.

Where to start...

Our 3 night stay included the following:
- An early morning fire alarm test
- Protestors outside chanting about hotel contracts
- Puke on the floor in the hallway
- Dozens of children running up and down the hall early in the morning
- Towels that smell like mildew

Not sure how the rooms are, but the 'lobby' is tiny, blah, uninteresting, and there is only one restaurant, a bistro with an exceptionally limited menu. Nothing to really recommend. Move along.

Easy check-in and nice staff, but there was a strike going on that made the stay really painful, drumming and shouting starting at 6am. For $700+tax/night, definitely not the relaxing experience I'd hoped for and not something I'd been warned about when making the booking a week earlier. Strike was into it's 3rd week so that's not a great reflection on the hotel either!

An excellent stay at the Ritz-Carlton. The staff is fantastic the service is fantastic. We checked in very late so I can't recall the names of the lady concierge and gentlemen that assisted us with check in but the service was world class and they even gave my daughter a little stuffed Boston Lobster which she very much loved. Will definitely return to this property and recommend it to friends and family.

BE AWARE of the hotel practice of OVERBOOKING!
We are SPG platinum elite. We arrived at the hotel at 1am and was told our room was overbooked due to "plumbing issue."

The night manager said even though he was aware of the situation at least TWO HOURS prior to our arrival but decided "it would be better to wait and inform us in person" instead of contacting us by email or call, or do anything to minimize our inconvenience. WHY??? He was not apologetic but said it was "on me," and would arrange us to a different hotel nearby. When I inquired further about the location of this hotel, he had to google it and told me it would be 20 min from the hotel in Cambridge. The entire time all other staff were just watching us with pity and no one even offered us a water or anything. Later I found out why!

We had no choice but got into the car they arranged, and checked in another hotel at 2am completely exhausted. Later, I learned from other limo drivers in town that this hotel does this "OVERBOOKING" nearly EVERYDAY! They witnessed some people leaving the hotel late at night CRYING AND BEING DRIVEN 30 MILES cross town sometimes. They said and I quote: "The residence side along with the hotel caters 80% of the cliental to Saudi guests who would pay them so much more money , they literarily don't care about other guests. You are lucky being sent only 6 miles away." It sounds like a tale, but our experience also testify this might be believable!

Here it is how it appears to us: the night manager had to do all the unpleasant work of informing guest in person about the bad news, catching everyone by surprise and sending them away to hotels he does not even know where they are located. The next day, after the damage is done, there would be a "DELIGHTFUL" assistant manager on the phone, name Tamera, super apologetic and would make up for your loss (reading other reviews from tripadvisor and google can confirm this).

In our case, we got our points back and some additional compensation points, which I thought it was totally fair if it was TRULY a rare occasion as she ensured us. But what if those limo drivers were correct? Then it was it sounds to me more like a willful and knowing policy violation of guaranteed rooms for platinum elite, not a negligent handling of the reservations.

Good luck staying at this hotel and try to check in early!

Stayed three nights here. Subpar service. Our room wasn't properly cleaned and they couldn't get a coffee maker to our room after multiple attempts. They also don't have their own gym or pool. You have to pay extra to access Equinox's facilities. The shower had very strong water pressure, best thing about this place.

World Class decor, nearly perfect service, but poorly placed table cloths (waaaaayyyy too long to the point of potentially tripping and killing a man), wobbly table and chair legs were all totally unexpected failures for a "best in class" establishment.

The hotel has full picnic supplies for bicycles and meals. You can ask for the counter. It is suitable for picnics in Boston Park in the spring and autumn. Summer is too hot to wait for the evening.

Incredible service and incredible food. Just about a perfect burger, cooked an actual medium rare. I have not had a meal this good in a long time and will not have this meal out of my head for some time.

This was a great hotel. The picture I attached is the view from my room. The only thing I did not like is that everything that normally comes with a hotel is extra. Going to the gym is an extra $15 a day. I mean can't that be included in the $425 per night fee?

The concierge staff is very professional and friendly, the complimentary fruit and water in the lobby is a nice touch. I was visiting a condo unit though. I hear the hotel is nice but I have no experience there
