An excellent hotel with courteous, friendly, helpful staff. The location of the hotel is within easy distance to downtown and the beach. The staff cannot do enough for their guests. It is a must stop if you would like to sample excellently made drinks and meals.

Thank you.

I always love being at the Ritz in Sarasota. Jack Dusty is my favorite restaurant and you can have anything from the beat French toast in the world to a mermaid cocktail.

I understand it s Covid and we are in different times. However, it is very frustrating when you go away to the Ritz Carlton and you cannot even get a snack in the middle of the day. The restaurant closes its snack area after breakfast and the gift shop that carries snacks is closed for lunch.
So you eat lunch at 12 and you cannot get a snack until three at the Ritz Carlton hotel. I went to the front desk and the gentleman was extremely apologetic and said he would send up snacks immediately I waited an hour and no snacks right. I know this seems trivial, but it s the trivial things that should be taken care of if you are putting yourself on the line and going to a hotel during this times. Not impressed.

My wife and I used the spa services today. We ordered basic salad and a simple chicken wrap. We paid $20 for the salad and $16 for the wrap. We were less than pleased with the value we got. The food was quite average and the presentation was not at all what one would expect of a well-known brand such as Ritz Carlton.

I was disappointed with the hotel because it is definitely not on par with any other Ritz hotel I have stayed at. I'll start with the positive by saying the valet service is exceptional. They are great with everyone and work their tails off. The cleaning crew is good too. The Jack Dusty restaurant food and crew is top notch as well.
Since I was staying for 5 nights I decided to book my room directly with the hotel so I could get a better feel for the property. I was also traveling with my 13 lb dog and wanted to let them know ahead of time. I specifically explained that I was looking to get away, relax and disconnect. I was also celebrating my birthday and had not been on a vacation since 2018 so I was really looking forward to my stay. I booked a room with the view to the marina (more $/more points). I was also traveling with my elderly mom who enjoys reading and I wanted her to enjoy the balcony, given that she would be spending a significant amount of time in the room. What they failed to tell me when I booked the room is that there is major construction going on with a new building right next to the hotel. My view was the Marina and the construction site. The construction noise begins early in the morning (my unsolicited wake up call) and goes well beyond 5pm during the week. It was unbearable and we could not hang out in the balcony until after 7pm. I was immensely disappointed by this. Given that I made my reservation with a local agent and I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member I think they could've clued me in and offered an alternative for this particular stay. In addition, the hotel touts itself as "pet friendly". They in fact are not except for the fact that you can bring a pet with you. Their hotel policy states that you cannot leave your pet unattended in the room. Yet you cannot bring your pet to breakfast, lunch, or dinner with you anywhere on the property, including the outdoor dining areas or Beach Club. I was able to take my dog to several restaurants in the area offering outdoor dining, yet at the hotel this was not allowed. So you can't leave them in the room, but you can't bring them with you anywhere indoor or outdoors to eat. So my option was to buy food, bring it up to my room, and eat it on my loud construction noise balcony. Not exactly what I had envisioned.
I will say that upon checking out no one asked me how my stay was. First time ever that I can recall (at any hotel). The front desk staff seemed mechanical in their approach and not much by way of personal touch. Also a first for a Ritz experience. I asked about hotel events and activities and there is nothing offered at this time, despite the hotel website still reflecting numerous daily activities. I asked for a list twice and I never received one. I am sensitive to the fact we are in the midst of a pandemic, but I was never told either way and instead directed to activities in the Sarasota area. Given that they are still charging a daily resort fee of $40, they should be offering clients something since there are no daily hotel activities to enjoy except a chair and umbrella at the beach property. If you're not into the beach, then you're paying $40 a day for internet access. Doesn't seem right at this time.
Next time I'm in Sarasota I'll probably stay elsewhere and just dine at the restaurant during my visit.

A beautiful oasis from the moment you step out of your car. Every single thing you can possibly imagine, every whim, even things you wouldnt possible think of, are thought out and executed for you.
The pool and dock area were particular delights. I felt all of my cares melt away under the golden sun. The palm trees swaying made my naps under the sun even more exquisite. Dusty Jack's had absolutely amazing food and the staff there are so attentive it's like they can read your mind. I cant wait to return.

The only way to park at this location is to valet. When I picked up my car, something had been stolen. Just be careful not to leave anything in vehicle. It wasn t something of great value, but it was mine. Very disappointed and will definitely factor in my decision of not staying at this location in the future.

My husband and I live in sarasota and often go on staycations.the atmosphere and attention to guests needs is top notch. Jack dusty has a nice vibe n view when DJ imminent is there playing familiar tracks based on his audience. Drinks are top notch and I won t go anywhere I can t order a hamburger at 2am with those cute little ketchup bottles. The pool and hot tub are right on the water and when it started getting dark we had the pool to ourselves and pleasantly relaxing if your not a far of screaming kids running around

Was there for a funeral. The manager sent us a wine and cheese board and the marketing department sent us chocolate covered strawberries, all with condolences. The pedicure was awesome and the restaurant excellent (fabulous poached filet mignon). A must stay.

Luxury hotel in Sarasota where the super friendly staff go our of their way to help. Great view of the bay from our room. Loved our chocolate tasting plate on arrival made up of sea shells. Very comfy beds and top bathroom.
Good breakfast in Jack Dusty restaurant which also has an outdoor deck.
Nice fitness room and excellent location which also gives you access to the Ritz Carlton Lido Beach complex.

It is such a relaxing experience at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the restaurant on site, the Jack Dusty, is delectable (just look at the pictures), and the exercise area is top notch. We took the opportunity to experience the Healing Waters in the spa and you won't regret it if you make time for it. It's worth it and is complementary for Elite members. The coffee and tea in the room are great for setting the morning off right, or for an afternoon pick me up. Take advantage of the free bottled water in the room and the comfy robes, while you watch TV from the day bed. If you're up for it, the Honor Bar has quite the selection of goodies and libations as well.

Great service and great room service. The pools and food are great too. The smoothies are great. I also love how you can order from the pool. The beach is great and I even got to see a dolphin 50 feet away. Overall I love everything they have to offer except the water. For some odd reason all hotel water at every hotel smells really werid.

Given the price that was likely paid, the level of organization for the wedding was terrible. My son was the ring bearer. We were the first to arrive aside from the wedding party. No one, aside from the wait staff was anywhere to be seen. At nearly the last minute, a hotel staff person showed up but had no idea what was going on. He took me to the planner, who happened to be with the wedding party. I asked if the groom's parents were needed (rhetorical question) and the planner looked at her list, named them and said they were needed immediately. Off I went to go fetch them. I got them to where they needed to go just before the ceremony started. I was happy to help, but I certainly expected far better service.

Sarasota in the winter is fantastic but here's what I wish I knew before staying at the Ritz Carlton. The property doesn't offer a "market" to buy food, drinks, snacks and shops/restaurants are not within walking distance. The Ritz forces you into their very pricey restaurant, Jack Dusty. You want a bottle of water, you'll pay $8. No healthy options for a quick bowl of fruit, salads, etc. The meals are very expensive, greasy, fried, buttery, salty and it's a quick way to feel gouged and gorged. Additionally, be prepared for $30 a day for parking and $30 a day for a resort fee. The beach is a bus ride from the hotel where the shuttles run every hour to and from. On a holiday weekend, the bus couldn't accommodate everyone so a number of people had to wait for the next bus. Once at the beach, it is absolutely beautiful but here again, only food and drink options are through the hotel where the food options aren't healthy and very pricey - it's essentially bar food. No market for a meal bar, snack, drink. If I knew this going into the trip, and accepted it, I would be okay but not knowing this, I felt duped and taking advantage of because at every turn, they knew they could charge more because no other option was within walking distance. I'll go back to Sarasota but not this hotel. I've been to much better run RC hotels. Also, not to the fault of the hotel but there's ample construction happening on the grounds adjacent to the hotel. Condos and other buildings are being constructed causing traffic and wonderful views of cranes.

Paid to park here which was very convenient for an event in the area. Upon arriving back to the elevator area to get up to the parking structure, I asked the older gentleman at the front desk if there was a restroom I could use because I had a long drive ahead of me and wasn't from the area. Dead faced he just said no and then looked away. It's a hotel so, I've got to believe there was a lobby somewhere. He could have said "in the lobby over there" or "across the street has a public restroom". Anything. At the same time I got into the elevator a man who was very obviously on something got into the elevator too and naturally got off on the same floor of the parking structure as me. There's no security anywhere so, I felt extremely unsafe.

First time at a Ritz (frequent Marriott business traveler). The good: Beach club is really quite nice, great pool and service. Staff is fantastic. The valet staff at the hotel is fantastic and were so nice to my family, especially my young sons. Honestly, they were the best part of the hotel. Room is ok. Little nicer than a typical Marriott, but I was not overly impressed. Front desk attendant during check in was not very welcoming and didn't explain anything about the hotel, which was disappointing. As a platinum elite, and Ritz credit card holder, i honestly expected to be treated a bit better. Room upgrade was not offered and really no mention or thanks to my loyalty to this brand. Was at a Fairfield inn the week before and felt more valued. In any event, it was still pleasant overall. Not sure I would return, but glad to have tried it.
