I really like this branch, of course I am biased because of my love for Soho. I was very happy when someone chose it for a business lunch meeting last week. Our waiter Lincoln was very lovely, helping with food selections, although I had to prompt him to be honest, as he was saying everything was nice when I asked him ;) Three of us shared two portions of arancini balls and courgette fries as a starter. I had The Ivy Shepherd's Pie for my main - perfect for me being pregnant, my colleague had the Chicken Milanese - which she got a little confused with as she thought it was a burger, mistaking the mention of the brioche crumb thinking it would be served in a brioche bun, and our host had the steak tartare (with some evil grins from me, as I can't have it being pregnant!). I had The Ivy Ginger Beer which was delish, for dessert, I had the Chocolate Bombe, which was truly - the bomb! I told everyone else we had to get it as it was highly recommended, my colleague listened, but our host preferred ice cream. Post lunch, I moved to the bar to work for the rest of the afternoon and the staff were very accommodating, even when my friend arrived for drinks and I asked to be moved to lower seats as the stools got a bit uncomfortable for me. I was there from 12:30 - 7:30! Had a lovely afternoon and will be back, thank you!

We went for lunch. The food was acceptable if a bit bland. Wine list reasonably priced and service ok. However with almost every table occupied the room was so noisey it was impossible to hear what my lunch colleagues were saying. We had to resort to shouting across the table as was evident did others diners. Some significant acoustic work is required to dampen down the racket. A truly awful experience.

A good menu, and the food is great. Staff were a bit slow to bring the wine at first, but for Friday night in central London, nothing unusual.
The main downside is the volume of the music - a live dj on Fridays making it almost impossible to have a conversation at your table with more than one person.
Left with a sore throat from trying to talk above it. We complained and they made a token effort but not enough to make us stay for dessert

Amazing experience!

Amazing experience!

The only problem is that we waited from the starter to the main course so long!!!

But all the rest it is a really high experience!!

The food was great but some of the Waiter' s need to be retrain. We where there for a friend's birthday lunch' and brought a cake as a surprise for her. After our lunch the waitress brought a dessert menu. No one ordered a dessert as we where talking. Next thing' she put crockery in front of us, spoiling the surprise not cool!

Nice restaurant with tasty food. Not too expensive for London. Great atmosphere. Good location. Lovely cocktails. Friendly waitresses. Quick service. Would go back to this restaurant and other Ivys in London.

Lovely afternoon tea on a quiet Monday afternoon in January. Scones and tea were delicious. Went for the earl grey and it was fresh and fragrant. The scones come with raisins and I usually hate raisins but they re delicious in this recipe. It comes with strawberries and strawberry jam and clotted cream. Not expensive at all for just a cream tea! Very good value for money. Next time we ll do the full afternoon tea as it is such a good value for the price! Lovely decor as all the Ivy s, and friendly service.

Dreadful and rude service...

We are not in the habit of complaining but I made damn sure the management took a lot of money off. The female cocktail server was so rude saying to me "you don't know what drink you are having?" when I tried to describe what was in the drink to a friend in a conversation she had interrupted... She had a sour expression and seemed to have an argument with the other male server at the bar over ice it would appear, which left us feeling very uncomfortable. We then found out my partner had something in the glass she had poured the Negroni into, and so we had to complain about that. After complaining, she gave death stares to him, which was beyond acceptable. I had to complain as well as we were sat near the main entrance which is exactly where I asked not to be sat on the reservation through Open Table. The Spanish maitre d' didn't seem to be able to speak English properly and the waiting staff seemed a little surly at times (defensive). The food was good and on time, but we were waiting at the bar for about 20 minutes, waiting to get seated, which was annoying as well. Not worth the brand's name of 'Ivy' and I'm afraid you need to get better staff who can speak English properly. Won't be coming back.

Great food and a great atmosphere. The shepherd's pie was amazing. It would be five stars but we had extremely slow drinks service all night - although the manager did sort that out for us towards the end of the evening. Would definitely go back though.

A beautiful restaurant with a somewhat simple and affordable menu. The staff are friendly, attentive and most importantly, happy. The menu has something for everyone here. I had the steak tartare to start followed by de-boned chicken (something i wouldn't typically order). The flavours are incredible. The middle-of-the-road Malbec was delicious and worked well with the food. We finished the meal off with 'Dick's Drink' which is their take on an espresso martini - It did not disappoint. I cannot recommend this highly place enough. No doubt this place will become a regular!

I think of Ivy Restaurants as being elegant. We walked in and found a disco DJ playing electro music that was so loud it was impossible to have a normal conversation. My partner and I looked at each other and walked out. Someone really ought to speak with the manager. Until then avoid at all costs!

The food was really good. The service was a bit slow but they apologized. After 1hour and 45 minutes they told us kindly to leave. It may be normal in London but as a non-English person I found it a bit rude

Food is good but the service was SO bad it ruined the evening. When I mentioned it to the waiter at the end of the evening - he blamed the kitchen which doesn t explain why I waited 20 minutes to get my bill after asking while he set up new tables ( for diners who weren t there) maybe there are new owners? Just terrible

Very good quality of food, but extremely noisy and busy for spot that should claim a little more exclusivity under every aspect.
Said so service is good and the menu is wide and with reasonable prices.

Nice atmosphere with dimmed lighting, good menu selections and good food. Service is SLOW - despite asking numerous times where the drinks were, where the food was etc we waited over an hour for the starter and another hour for the main. We were 3 people on a Wednesday evening 730pm. We got a c.15 percent reduction on our food and apologies from the manager which was a nice touch.

Very nice food, lovely atmosphere. Went for a chilled Sunday brunch but ended up having fish and chips for main, with the zucchini fries as a start.. must try them! Excellent service very attentive and a really nice clean restaurant. Would definitely go back here again. 5 stars

Food was lovely, service was good, however had really loud repetitive beat nightclub music the whole evening, could hardly have a conversation, just didn't match the venue or clientele

We went here for brunch, and this place has a cool, eclectic decor. It's a great open space, with comfortable seating, and good for groups. The brunch menu is standard; pancakes, full English, Benedicts, etc.

My husband ordered the Full English, and he was pleased - they're not much to differentiate from place to place. I ordered the pancakes, and they were exceptional. They are not the typical American style pancakes, plain with maple syrup - that's what I'm used to. I asked them to leave the yogurt and fruit, but not serve the citrus glaze on it, which they did and gave me maple syrup on the side. I would definitely recommend the pancakes - they're filling.

The service was outstanding, the restaurant is beautiful, and it's a solid brunch.

Only had a quick lunch, service was good, I liked the ambiance and decor, quite 20's in its feel. Food was good, but not amazing, had a nice bottle of white, which was recommended, cant recall the name, but it was very nice. I think I expected to be wowed and was just satisfied. So hence only 4 stars

Not our first time here, they're nice surroundings and the food is good. But, on this Thursday evening it was just so loud we ended up leaving straight after the main course and going for coffee and sweet somewhere else. I'd still go there for lunch assuming it's a bit more toned down.

We may have been a bit unlucky with our visit, the service was a mess. Our order ticket was thrown away and had to order again, certain things we asked for like butter for the toast was acknowledged but forgotten and the drink order was messed up. The saving grace was the quality of the food which was excellent. I would have given 4 stars if the wait staff had offer to remove of reduce the service charge given the problems we had on this occasion.

Wonderful ambience & food.

Wonderful ambience & food.
Not giving 5 stars because we were more than a little irritated at being rushed to vacate the table as we were handed the desert menu! Apparently we were only allowed 1 & 1/2 hours due to the current shorter opening hours. (0ur booking was at 7pm). If we were told this as we entered we would have been fine with it. We declined desert!

Nice place to come to here for breakfast, but I will more recommend "dean street townhouse" which is in the soho too, but the food, service, decoration is better than the Ivy and the price is similar !

Not bad, but I pushed the dean street townhouse near him, although the ivy is not bad, but because both of them are in Soho, I choose dean street townhouse if I choose one.

A very sexy but chilled restaurant just outside the buzzing Soho streets, Surprisingly, great value for money - definitely not overpriced. It looks stunning outside - the decor is truly chick and posh. On that note, if you are lucky and you go there on a nice day, make sure you sit outside.

Lovely decor, friendly waiter but initial greeting staff a little unfriendly. Food was great, and arrived in timely fashion. Waiters were not pushy and allowed guests to order in their own time.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast here with friends this Sunday morning. Staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was excellent (particularly given the reasonable central London pricing!). I really enjoyed the feel of the restaurant, the bar, the sofas, the paintings all make it feel special, and stand out from other restaurants in London. Will definitely be coming back!

We booked a table and we were going to be late so we called the restaurant and they have put so much pressure that the table won t be available anymore. When we came the restaurant was half empty. It was very disappointing.
The staff was in a hurry to take the orders they got it wrong . However food was good.
