Location was convenient for where I was going, but the hotel was not as expected.

The shower water pressure was VERY low which made taking a shower a chore, the AC was not working correctly so the room was always warm. There was mold in the shower-head and in the grout so I never felt clean.

Also, the elevators were not working correctly and the stairs are only for 'Emergency' exit, so you have to wait 5 to 15 minutes for an elevator to get to the lobby in the morning.

The bar was closed down and breakfast was over-priced with no real seating area and a very limited selection (no hot choices). There was no room service so you have to leave the hotel to eat. This may not be a big deal for most people, but having the option for room service is always nice.

The rooms and decor are outdated and smell stale

So, if you are just looking for a place to crash for a few hours then this will work, if you want a good hotel experience I would suggest looking other places.

This place is a total joke. The web site photos are so misleading. The photos are from 1 floor of renovations. As soon as the elevator doors opened we saw banged up walls with ripped carpet. Room was horrible. We complained and they moved us to a slightly better room. I've got photos but waiting to see what will come of this horrible experience before posting. Stay tuned.

Hands Down the most disgusting and terrifying hotel I have ever stayed at! I came to NY for a training seminar with coworkers & we all had varying degrees of awfulness in our rooms. Several of us felt the need to check for bed bugs, the liners on the tubs were pealing off with moldy water between the original tub & the liner, flat worn out mattresses, exposed wall sockets, most of the lighting did not work, carpet pealing up from the floor, wall paper & paint pealing off the walls...the list can go on & on. It seems as though they possibly have some permanent residents. I literally did not feel safe staying there & slept with the lights (the few that worked) on. This is the type of hotel that pops up in the news because someone found a dead and rotting hooker under the bed. Absolutely avoid this hotel at all cost!

I give a star for the location and it is, just get bad treatment at the reception, then nothing else out of the elevator we hide with a dirty carpet corridor, old walls, faded and broken doors (pulled from a horror movie) And to finish off when we entered the old room, SUCIA, but could not, carpet full of everything except cleaning and the bathroom gave me real disgust, the bathtub the floor was full of dirt without rubbing and above it was snorted like with water underneath and You lost up to the balance more than once, almost never left clean towels we always had to ask them ... Apart from all this and it is not even half ... The hotel is very noisy you hear everything and by the location you will be listening Cars, ambulances and policemen in Dolby Surraund all the time. And to end the deal is the worst with bad faces and as you do not know perfect English with your accent you will have communication problems. I do not come back and I do not recommend it to my worst enemy, I think they have a remodeled part but you will have to pay more or to get them well so that they give you those rooms I did not see that part anywhere

Just came to NYC for a quick business trip, and I have to give this place a 5 star review. Is the property a little dated - sure, the room was also at least $100 less than the Sheraton across the street. I didn't come to NYC for the room! The staff was awesome, and I saw SO MANY RUDE PEOPLE being mean to them - check in time is 4:PM, and you're room probably won't be ready before then, yet people were going crazy. My room was clean and comfortable, and the location is unbelievable, right in the middle of everything with reasonable food places all around. If you come here, be nice to the staff!

The location was the only good thing about the hotel! Towels were never stocked as well as soap. We got stuck with half a used toilet paper roll when we entered for the first time! We had to constinently ask for supplies for our room! Some staff were nice but majority were nothing out of the ordinary.

Hotel ideally located between Times Square and Cental Park. The rooms are just the right size to be comfortable. The beds and pillows are very comfortable both to rest after a day of work or tourism.

The worst thing is the extra prices that they put in that, although they do indicate in their prices, they do not put it in the base with what the comparison with other hotels changes

We were given keys to a room on the 18th floor which did not work, meaning standing in extra lines and spending time in the elevators (which there are too few of). I was charged an ambiguous amount at check in as a security deposit, something the front desk couldn't comprehend themselves, and we were only given our Big Apple gift basket when asked for at checkout. The room was nice, though walking past the air conditioning vent that sounded like someone with a snare drum on our way to the room was less than ideal. I didn't expect much, and the hotel still underperformed. It's only saving grace is the location.

Decor was shabby and needs a good update. But room was clean and staff polite. View down to times square was perfect from the 22nd floor. The room was a great base camp for sleeping when not exploring. Location could not be better.

It is well located and it is old and a bit shabby with peeling wallpaper. However, they are responsive when I complained about noise they moved me to better room. Great location for a broadway binge.

I am not sure how they have done such a great job marketing but these rooms are atrocious. They support the fight against human trafficking, but it feels a little weird when you think they say this because this is where it could be happening and they are saying this more because it s a if you see something, say something type of place.

Told me best room rate was $180 when they later admitted they had a prepaid rate at $153, then they claimed taxes brought it up to $214. Most of the taxes were additional fees that they chose to charge, such as a $34 facility fee. Very dodgy.

First Timer, in New York; We spent 3 days there and when they say don't judge a book by its cover it is so true. First, the location is really nice for walking and getting around. Secondly; When you arrive the place looks stunning. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Thank you, everyone. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. The elevators are in a bad state and look like the 1960's. When the doors open, and you see the passage and try to find your room, you start thinking of a possible horror movie/comedy. My first thought was "4 Rooms" the movie. It is almost if you are stuck in the past and you are too afraid to off your shoes. But the worst is the bath rooms. Every bad review here I can strongly say is very close to the truth or spot on. I also am not sure if I am saying this because the hotels in Las Vegas looks 10 times better and bigger and what you get in New York is what you get because of space restrictions. For the Price that you pay I would expect something better, Last note, if you are spending that much money and it is about location and exploration, I guess it makes sense. We woke up at 6 AM and was out at 7 AM and did not come back till 11 or 12 PM. So does it really matter?

This hotel needs some major renovations and upgrades. I've stayed at less inexpensive hotels that had better amenities. Also, we stayed in June and the AC didn't work well even though it was set at 65 degrees. What you are paying for is the location, since it is in close proximity to Times Square, and that's it! Not worth the Price!

Great location and would've given it a three had it not felt like a total scam. From my experience, the rooms in the photos are not part of this particular property (unless only a portion of the property has been completely renovated). Thankfully bed was cosy and clean but issues beyond aesthetics included damaged doors and rotten carpets. Guests should also beware of the $15-30 "facilities charge" which will be slipped under your door prior to departure (for wifi & gym even if unused).

The hotel was nice but the room was smaller than expected. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Check-in is a rigid 4 pm but the hotel offered to hold our luggage so we didn't have to lug it all over the city for hours until we were able to check in. We could hear the music from a neighboring rooftop restaurant until late at night. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel with a wonderful staff Maxine at the front desk was very helpful. John and Dolly in Breakfast area were awesome too. The room was nice not renovated yet but was still great. The restroom needed a lil work but nothing to complain about. We had the perfect view of Times Square from our room on the 15th floor. We were a couple minutes walk from everything. Staying at this hotel made our Vacation great because even when we used Uber or a Taxi almost everything was $10 away except for One World Trade Center that was $20 and the only reason we used a driver was because our feet hurt. Hope you all enjoy your stay here like my family and I did. 12/27 - 12/31/15. Thank you Manhattan hotel staff.

The dirtiest hotel in the world from the corridors, to the sink to the bed ... disgusting ... The last two nights we have booked a more expensive room thinking that it made less disgust than the standard ones and instead NO.

Centrally located.. 5minutes walk from the Times Square.. The streets are active at all times however you don't get disturbed by the noise.. Room is average - has all that one needs.. We took the breakfast-to-go option - the chocolate muffin was delicious.. Staff was very courteous particularly Mr. Mohammed who was helpful, prompt and provided the best service..

Horrifying is an understatement.

Horrifying is an understatement.

Dirty rooms, filthy corridors and awful bathrooms. The price is ridiculous for the offerings.

Great service! The bellhops, front desk, and service staff are great and very friendly. The hotel has a fantastic location and the rooms are very comfortable. I would definitely book this hotel again!

I stayed there for 5 nights in March, booked twice but cancelled one as we had another person going and they have now taken a cancellation fee for the first room even doe I cancelled in plenty of time to book another room for 3 persons nobody will answer my emails. So be careful when booking as you will get no response from them. So annoyed

Can't lower the heat below about 75 but it feels like 90 all the time. You're battling 1000 other people using the 3 elevators so going to your room or down can take 10 minutes. No internet. Bad view. But located in a good spot to get to Times Square quickly

AC not working properly, no chair in the room, hallways and elevators dirty. And we are staying at the executive floor. No fridge in the room, no soda machine. Need to pay 3.50 dollars for a small soda in the lobby. Below carpet stain in the elevator to the 18th floor.

I will definitely read reviews from now on! A lot of the reviews explained exactly what we had to deal with. Great location and front lobby is beautiful. Unfortunately that's where is stops! My best friend and I took my granddaughter to New York City for the first time for her 13th birthday. A trip she will never forget and a room we all wish we could FORGET! It was nasty. I don't know where the rooms were that are on their website, but it sure wasn't one we were given. We were on the 16th floor. Getting off the elevator and almost tripping over the worn out carpet was our first clue. The room was big but the cleanness was ridiculous. The sheets were stained, the box spring had some kind of nasty brown stain all down the side, the bathroom was disgusting. The toilet wasn't clean, the bathtub was stained and disgusting and we actually wore plastic shoes to take a shower! Blow dryer was covered with whatever that was and when we took it downstairs the guy took us it was just worn! The doormen were the only ones that were actually nice to us! We did go at Christmas time so I expected to pay a higher price for a hotel, but the amount I paid for the room we got was totally outrageous!! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!

Stayed with the whole family of 4 people. The rooms were dirty, the sewage in the shower was crammed. They sent a plumber to the reception desk, he did not eliminate the breakdown. As a result, the whole family was left without a shower for a day. The next day, we achieved a different one living in America Number. Instead of 15.00, as we were told, the room was not ready and at 17.30. The room was changed, but all the dirty, old equipment, sockets fall out.

It is a great location. The hotel is kind of dated though and needs a renevation. Rugs dingy, rooms need painting, electrical outlets did not work. Phone did not work. On the plus side the beds were comfortable, the towels very nice and TV nice too. Would have been nice to have a mini refrigerator in the room. Oh forgot to add the windows on the outside definitely need to be cleaned. Other than that it was a great price for the location.

Convenient location, nothing wrong with the rooms ...

Convenient location, nothing wrong with the rooms either. BUT careful people. I had a bad experience overall. When I was checking out it was middle of the night, I paid for it in cash but they still charged me on my credit card which I used to book the rooms online. On top of that they gave me wrong receipts in an envelope, I dont know if that was intentional or a mistake but I didn't check at that time since I was running late for my flight. After I got back home and check my credit card statement I found out that I got charged again, called VISA and made a claim. After few months bank called me and said that hotel claims that I did not pay cash that why I got charged on my card. I called hotel few times to report my complain and every time they told me that someone will get back to me within 48 hrs but no one did. MY only concern is how many people they would have done this to. People work hard for their money!!!!

I booked ahead of time. Yes check-in here is at 4pm, but when we got here. we still had to wait a couple hours because the room weren't ready. The front desk blamed housekeeping.SMH Really? ..Lack of housekeeping maybe. After a long day of driving you would expect to have a room ready by 4 p.m. I've stayed in outdated hotels, and yes its outdated, but thats not my concern it was the cleanliness, and the smell that drove me off the wall for the price!! Just because it's in Timesquare thats why they stick it to you!! then when we got to the room, the room smelled awful. IT smelled like vomit. Then i complained, so they moved our room to another floor, and it got worst it smelled like paint. The smell of paint was horrendous. The room smell musty and the toilet didn't stop making noise . the parking lot was $50 for one night they don't let you know that when your booking. Dissapointed!

Unless you are paying 500-2000 for the private suites or penthouse, you will receiving a mediocre room : dirty walls, dirty hallway, and the rug lord the rug. Don t recommend to anybody.

Update: so I found out from one of the supposed guest that there are people who are not guest at all but homeless people who the city have decided to place in this hotel. Apparently the manhattan hotel has been getting rich of the misery of people. This lady I was talking to said she works 2 jobs showed me pay stubs and everything has 3 kids and has been staying with these criminals for 6 months now and that they don t allow them to have fridge, iron or even sit downstairs in the lobby. She played me a voice recorded tape of the staff talking about these people. On the tape one of the staff say those animals from the 6th floor we don t associate with them and hear the other staff laughing. On the tape the lady is heard asking why is she being asked to leave the lobby and you hear one of the staff say you are not supposed to be here go back to your room.

How can you treat people like kids these are human b info individuals that fell on bad time. And I know not all of them can be nice there are rude people but for you to call the cop on somebody and ruin their future because of their situation. Smh.

As and advocate for human rights I have her some numbers to get in contact and told her to continue to record and video tape the way these people talk to her and get a petition sign by all the tenants to sue the hotel for discrimination and negligence especially I told her to take pictures of all the rooms with mold and mildew and to report her babies getting sick.

Easily the dirtiest hotel I have had to stay in. The photos on the OTAs are extremely misleading. The washroom was filthy and dirt was surfacing in the bath tub. Service was awful. Specially at the Front desk. Rude staff (i think her name was Sandra ). Cheap motel standards for a 4 star hotel price. Avoid !!! The only positive would be the service at the breakfast counter.

Lobby smells like a perfume section of department store after a bull ran amok. Seriously guys, lay off the scents! Bathrooms haven t been updated since the 60 s. Thin walls make for loud neighbors...gives new meaning to the city that never sleeps . No courtesy lobby umbrellas, despite the resort fee ...which basically only includes WiFi. Location is the only saving grace.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I checked in Wednesday January 24 2018 they gave me a dirty room with a broken T.V. I then went down to the front desk to complain they gave me a second room which was "cleaner" and there was a huge stain in the tub. I called the maids It took 7 hours (no exaggeration) to get one up to my room. It was then explained to me that it was already clean and that she couldn't do any better. From my standpoint the only coutious and competent person on the entire property was a concierge from a third party named Carissa she was awesome the only bright spot in the entire place.

I was disappointed with the hotel. The door to my room was missing about half an inch from the bottom, the lift was excessively noisy, the room was very dated although clean.

Points given for location as it s right in the heart of Times Square

Really was worried about coming with all the reviews but we were overly impressed by the service, hotel and staff. We got to check in early, were stuck in the city due to the storm and were given an extension. Eddie was so professional and went above and beyond to help us. William and John were always pleasant, professional and treated us like family.... honestly I would stay here every time I come to NYC... it is central as well to everything.

Hands down, the best thing about this place is the staff. Mohammed at the front desk was professional and courteous. Xin Shi from housekeeping was sincerely kind and pleasant. People so often overlook those who serve them, and I don t want to overlook these two. Xin Shi made me feel welcomed, and that was better than a perfect room!

So I booked this holiday to New York which you imagine being one of a lifetime, for a special birthday I was celebrating with my boyfriend. Which was soon to be trashed when we finally got to our hotel after being delayed.

The hotel itself was honestly the worst place I have ever stayed it s apauling at how much it s costs to stay there and what you get.

Starting with workers being ridicously rude. The que for lifts/elevators was always 5+ minutes. It s FALSLY ADVERTISED!!! Nothing like pictures and videos. The rooms infact are that dirty and out dated we d go out and not want to come back. The bathroom was dirty. Starting with the bath being yellow with stains all over it, Wallpaper falling of the walls, Flusher not working, Lights not working.

The bedroom was again the same dirty and out dated. carpets ripped, Heating in the room blowing out cold air which in November isn t good as it s freezing cold. Furniture dust and shabby.

To class this as a Hotel is abit of an understatement. You have people on the same floors of you collecting food from food banks and coming back to the hotel. Kids screaming & shouting. People on the social serves staying in the hotel Asif it was a local Hostel
The corridors look although your in a local estate high rise flat.

when you come away and you have expensive things on you, you d like to feel comfortable and this deffinatly was not the case.

I d rate this hotel no more than a 1 star & should be changed from a hote to a hostel.

I enjoyed my stay here but there were several things that detracted from the five star experience. When we check in at the hotel, it took more than 15 minutes for someone to be available to retrieve our luggage (one backpack) that we previously left with the hotel earlier in the day. The biggest plus was the cleanliness of the room. Nothing was sticky or stained. Everything was neatly arranged on the tables for us. Most importantly the sheets and pillows were clean and didn't have a strange odor to them. The carpet, however, could use a little extra help with the cleaning. Another thing was the view we got: our room faced the back of the hotel so it wasn't much of a sight to behold. Other than the aforementioned detracting attributes, I enjoyed my stay here. It was clean and we had all the necessities. Would stay here again.
