This hotel was somewhat ok until a power trip security guard accused the whole floor of being too loud because he didnt know where the noise was coming from him and CESAR the manager argued with us spoke over us AND DID NOTHING ABOUT THE ROOM THE NOISE WAS ACTUALLY COMING FROM ITS A SATURDAY NIGHT AT TIMES SQUARE AND YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT NOISE it's a old hotel with paper thin walls YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING

Utterly revolting, dirty rooms, rude staff and fixtures and fittings that belong in landfill. Please don't stay at this utter dump, there is so much better around the area at the same price.
A little too close to Times Square for my taste but a great location if you're into that. Certainly very central and easy to get places. Walking distance to the Park. Rooms are pretty standard. The lobby seems to be always packed with tired people. Just strange but fine. Overall, I'm happy with it.
Good location hence the single star, otherwise it's a strictly 2* at most hotel charging 4* prices. Was dirty and badly need of repair on the 19th floor and in room 1912 where I stayed
Excellent location!!! We walked every where, very central! The hotel is in the process of renovating, but still fairly clean everywhere. When we arrived we were on the 22 floor not renovated the room was still satisfactory however as we were staying for multiple days we asked to be moved to the renovated floor on the 5th which is also where the gym is. They had no problem accommodating us after the first night! Very happy with all the staff....Mohammad rocks!!!
Great location but tiny rooms, not super clean, some sort of leak which made the floor wet in my room. Quite expensive for the amenities - have stayed in much better budget motels, would not stay here again.
A modest hotel two steps from Time Square Pretty old fashioned Because Amos is likely to get a room before time is slim To come without expectations ... and then there are no disappointments
In need of refurbishment. Lobby area okay but corridors and rooms quite shabby. Worth adding that the service I've experienced was nothing but polite and good hence not being more scathing with this review.
If i could give this hotel 0 stars I would. The tub would flood and the water would go up to your ankles while showering, same thing with the sink. Worst part is there was bed bugs!!!! Hotel has yet to respond to our e-mails/calls. Place is super dirty and outdated.
When I arrived at 10am I was told I could check in around 130pm. I stayed in the area of the hotel so I could check in and when I went all the way back to the hotel I was told that was the wrong information and I couldn't check in until 4. I went to eat and decided I would call them to tell them I will be late checking in as I wanted to go do other things. I called at 230pm and was then told my room was now ready and I can check in. I went all the way back again and checked into my room. This wasted hours of my day as I had to be at MSG by 6pm and it was already 3pm. Also I was charged another 30$ "fee" I was unaware of when I checked out. The staff and room however was nice.
Well situated, close to broadway, restaurants, businesses, subway. Limited breakfast options, no laundry service. Some refurbishment would improve the overall feel.
The Manhattan Time Square Hotel is situated in 7 th avenue near Time square center in New York city. The spectacular skyscrapers mesmerizes every tourist. Some of the tourist attractions are just walkable from this hotel such as Broadway theatres, Times square, Central park, Empire state building, Grand Central terminal, 5th avenue is a shoppers heaven where you can buy fashion brands from affordable to ultra fancy. . It's exceptional location attracts tourists to opt this hotel. We booked this hotel for 3 days and extended 1 more day. When we check in the reception staff asked credit card details and charged 40 dollars per night as resort fee and collected 150 dollars as deposit. Our room is allotted in 22 nd floor which is spacious and neatly maintained. The room was comfortable with basic amenities like Wifi, coffee maker, TV and a safety locker. The view from city road is awesome. The hotel maids were very polite and friendly. Hotel staff are efficient and helpful as they helped to re open the locker in front of us.
We had an incredible time in New York. Hotel extremely well placed, impeccable service, welcoming and smiling staff. I do not understand the large number of negative reviews on this hotel, it certainly needs a refresh as it is a bit old, but the rooms are clean, the bed very comfortable, sheets and towels changed every day. I really recommend this hotel.
Great hotel and great location. Out the door and you're in Time Square in 1 minute. Don't get rid of all those negative reactions. Excellent rooms, bed was TOP. Very friendly staff. Book it again soon.
My family and i stayed at the Manhattan |Hotel, Times Square, New York for 5 nights in May this year. Our experience of the hotel was mixed. The original room on the 11th floor which was provided for us was dated, with marks on the bathroom sink, marks on the curtains, and stale carpet smell . It was difficult for me to stay in the room so i approached the front desk to ask if we could upgrade to an executive room. The upgrade was available at a charge and our room was a much better room on the 18th floor, which made our stay more pleasant. Thank you to Mohammad for his patience with finding us the room and for also making us feel special as it was our birthdays, shame the upgrade was not free, but we did get breakfast free and some gifts of chocolates and New York merchandise. There is no restaurant in the Manhattan, just a little breakfast bar that serves a continental breakfast of pastry, fruit and a beverage, many thanks to Dolly, Mohammed and John for making our breakfast a pleasant one.
I'm currently here. When we checked in, our room wasn't ready. There was still dust all over the room from renovation. All of the bathroom contents were on the floor in a corner and we had no shower curtain. Of course we called housekeeping and they came up about half an hour later to get the room in order while we were at dinner. The HVAC unit hasn't been cleaned since it was installed in the hotel. If you take a light and look you can see dust and mold caked up inside. The wall paper was hideous an poorly installed. The hotel lacks amenities. The bed was the best part of the stay. The hotel is in the heart of Times Square, if you book please understand this is literally a 2-3star hotel
The rooms were pretty nice and the housekeeping was very responsive to our requests. One problem we had was that our bathroom door was unable to lock, but my roommate and I were able to deal with it.
Great location. A good hotel. Good for those who do not demand much luxury. Functional with a good bed and clean bathroom. It suits me but it could be better due to the resort fee that has to be paid per day in addition to the stay.
I recently stayed at The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel in NYC with a large group of people. Of course, the best part about it was the location...right in the middle of everything we wanted to see and do. Although it's an old hotel, which is to be expected in that district, it was updated as much as possible and very clean. The hotel staff couldn't have been friendlier and helpful. I would certainly consider staying there again.
Nice little lobby. Pleasant and attentive staff, the staff is the only redeeming factor in my eyes. Room was old. Wallpaper was old and peeling in areas and bubbling in others. Carpets are well past their prime with worn areas and old gum spots. Bed sagged in the middle. No mini fridge to hold left overs from dinner. Walls are thin. Only a single door dividing connected rooms so did goes right through. Had to listen to some guy yell on the phone for 30 minutes. This is where the staff covers in again, called down, they came up and of course the room for quiet. But they called to make sure it remained quiet, awesome since the guy got back on the phone. They came right back up and asked him to call it down. Couldn't quiet fall to sleep after that because you could hear the humming of the air unit. Not the best nights stay off my life. I will not be returning to this hotel or recommending it to anyone even with their good pricing.
Great location right in the heart of Times Square, the only plus point. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired ... and, ah! Don't have breakfast at the hotel !! Express $ 6
We stayed here on 1/18/14. We didn't know anything about the hotel but absolutely fell in love immediately. The staff was very friendly. We didn't have to wait long to check in. Our room was immense and clean and comfortable. I loved the deck off the back. Location was perfect. I will absolutely be watching for deals on this hotel because I would love to stay there again.
Unfortunately 30 or more of us waited for hotel rooms for more than an hour! Then they sent me to a room under renovation. No thank you to this hotel, also railroad small room.
Their website was deceiving, rooms weren t looks nice as pictured. Dirty, smelly, and mold in the bathrooms. It was expensive motel room, please find different hotel to stay.
In general I can rate our visit as very good and positive. It is a hotel that is geographically well located, close to everything, and with very good service and attention. It is to recommend and revisit.
The location is great. And for it being in this prime area the hotel should live up to it. The lobby was really nice. But once I got out the elevator the hallway just looks dirty and the carpet was barely there Bc it s so old. Same as the room. Everything should really be updated. The wallpapers we re peeling off. Tiles have crack in it or grout is gone. Just wasn t pleasant for the money I paid.
Checked in at 2:00, 2 hours before the actual check in time. No wait. Great staff. Upgraded us to a very nice king deluxe suite on the 22nd floor. Very clean (and I'm a picky person). Quiet. Late noon checkout which was fantastic and included grab and go breakfast which was great! I would definitely stay her again. Close to everything! Thank you!
Walls are paper thin. I could hear everything the room next to me was saying. The guy next to me was coughing up a lung at 6am and I had to put headphones in. You have to wait forever for the elevators to arrive. The rooms are super outdated and very cold even with the heat cranked up. The only thing good about this hotel is the price and the location.
The location of the hotel is good, but the rooms are completely outdated. I am fine with an older hotel, but the online photos are deceiving. The rooms are outdated. Our first room had peeling paint, stained carpet, and rust in the bathtub. On top of that, the bathtub would not drain. We switched rooms and in the second room- the toilet was constantly running making noise, and the sink faucet leaked everywhere when it was turned on. The lobby of this hotel is beautiful, which makes the rooms even more deceiving. To top it all off, the service was horrible. We were told a mini fridge would be added to our room upon request... hours later, still no fridge. We called again and were told someone would bring it up. An hour later- nothing. No answer from the front desk after three attempts to call. Good thing we are only here for a weekend.
Not sure how this is considered even a 3 star resort. Room is dated, check the pictures. Also, staff is rude. Close to TS but not worth it, We won t be back.
Mediocre hotel. Friendly hotel staff but dirty facilities. Also, had a facility service fee of $34 and $50 deposit that we didn't know until after our stay on my credit card statement.
I would recommend. Great location. Lots of shops, close to everything can be reached on foot. Decent, clean rooms. Actually, no breakfasts, but you can eat in nearby cafes. An ideal starting point for exploring the city.
The location is magnificent, but it is very old and dirty. The dirty carpet, the bathroom was barely cleaned, I had to ask for toilet paper and they brought me a mattress . The good thing is that the beds were comfortable and large. The staff depending on the day, there is a receptionist who spoke Spanish and quite pleasant. The lousy breakfast, for quality and where to take it.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The only good thing about it is the location. I had to change rooms after the first day as the mattress was so bad I didn't sleep, the TV didn't work and it was generally awful. The room we switched to was just as bad! Please stay somewhere (anywhere!) else! I don't know when it got rated as 4* but can't have been in this century. No idea where the photos on the website came from either! There is also a $34 a night tax (which is the same for everywhere but this just meant we paid even more money for the worst hotel ever) All the facilities are rubbish, the gym was a joke. Staff seem disinterested. It's grubby, in desperate need of updating and the bed linen smells bad.
Give this place 3 stars for the location as its smack bang in the middle of all the sites but the hotel itself is in bad need of a renovation. The lobby is as fine as a standard hotel can be but once you step into the elevator and get out on your floor it's when it goes downhill. shabby and outdated decor meet you on your way to your room and it pretty much meets you when you arrive at your room. I spent 5 mins in my room before requesting another room as our toilet failed to flush and the room had dust on mist surfaces not to mention the bad wiring behind electric devices. We where relocated to another room the next day although not much better at least the toilet flushed. Some of the staff where pleasant and some where a bit offish. All in all if your looking for somewhere near all the hustle of times square this is the place. Minutes walk from Broadway central park the Rockefeller and Madison Square Garden too and subway a block away.
We booked this hotel on Expedia. When we arrived the lady that checked us in asked for my credit card. I gave it to her and as she was swiping it I had to ask what she was charging my card for. She said $250 for incidentals. Incidentals are common charges at hotels so it s not an issue paying that, but it was poor customer service to be charging my card before even telling me what it was for or how much. The pictures shown on Expedia look nothing like our room. They have 1 floor in the hotel that is remodeled and the pictures on Expedia are of the remodeled rooms of course. When we booked the hotel we thought we were getting the room show in photos, but when we checked in this is what we were stuck with. The manager was unprofessional and had an attitude when we brought it to her attention. She offered us a new room and said the upgraded rooms would be available on the 6th. We were initially going to check out and a find a new hotel, but we didn t want to waste time finding a new place and miss out on our trip. We came to her the next day and told her we would like to move rooms as she offered the day prior and stay in one of the nicer rooms as of the 6th until we departed on the 9th. She proceeded to say we would have to pay for the upgraded room. We reminded her that just yesterday she offered to move us rooms and her response was, I didn t say it would be free. We asked what her name was and she stated multiple times, I gave it to you yesterday. She refused to give us her name. Our best guess is her name was Danashia. We tried calling her supervisor Abel and left him a voicemail, but of course he never returned our call. They had a video screen on the check in counter showing the nice rooms, but again no pictures of the old, dirty room we got. After complaining they stopped showing the nice rooms on the video screen. Below are pictures of the molded shower with tile chunks missing, wall paper molded and falling off the walls, dust and dirt everywhere, stained tile and carpet, urine stained mattress, uncomfortable old mattress dented in on the sides people sleep and raised in the center; basically an overpriced dirty, old, disgusting room. Oh and to top it off they slid a bill for $206 under our door for a nightly facility fee which they never told us about at check in.
Fantastic location, time Square central park Broadway and rockfeller center really close by. Spacious and clean rooms, the only flaw the furnishings are dated, but you can't have everything. I advise
One of the worst hotels I have ever been to. The rooms look nothing like they do online. When I asked I was told the update rooms are reserved for some program. The service was terrible. The bellhop seemed annoyed to have to work at all.
Where shall I begin?! Wall paper peeling, mold in shower, no a/c with a hot room even in December (was told they don't offer a/c during the winter season), dim lighting, no bedside outlet, dirty blow dryer with hair in it (just something I observed, didn't actually use). Budget hotel. You get what you pay for.
While the staff are friendly, the hotel is sorely lacking in so many ways. There was just 1 spare outlet in the entire room, which was nowhere near the bed. The wifi is so weak, it takes forever for websites to load, forget about trying to watch a video. The satellite TV is very limited, with no premium cable channels, and very low quality reception. It is like trying to watch a movie on the old dail-up internet service. If none of these are important to you, the rooms are spacious and clean.
After many years this is still a special restaurant to celebrate an event or a special evening. The main dining room remains formal, the food is exquisite, and the service is still astounding with just the right combination of thoughtful and well-trained staff. We have enjoyed many milestones here, and it is definitely worth the try!
This dump doesn t even deserve one star! What an absolute disappointment to walk into. The room we booked was very dirty. Gum stuck to the walls and carpet, candy all over the floor( half eaten) mud on the walls, and garbage everywhere and an old inhaler. Finding blood on the sheet drew the line as well as mold all over the air conditioner with moldy food and garbage shoved inside of it .The staff treats their guests with so much disprepect and might I add, the pictures they use online are a complete scam. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. Do not stay here, it s a waste of money and time. There are better places to stay than this place.
