... very comfortable, simple, with good service, hot water to make my Argentine mate and breakfast in the room. Good tv, with all kinds of channels, with good movies, good bathroom and bed. Clean and equipped

If I could do a negative star I would I don't know where to start but I stayed the weekend here after getting off a 8hr plane ride I was told I couldn't check in til four pm and even after explaing I was four months pregnant and my friend was sick we still couldn't check in then we were given one bed claiming since our coupon we had gave us what was left over then after checking in we had to wait over an hour for a fridge that we asked for after booking the room wasn't told my car would have a 100$ hold on it for the hotel so I went half the weekend with limited money then had a maid accuse me of smoking in the room after I explained to someone of the horrible smell then at checkout the front desk clerk goes to get an attitude when I asked a question so point blank worst stay ever will never stay here again

Very front desk staff and little concerned about helping the client. They also tried to charge us $ 40 per day for some services (Wifi, gym ...) that we already had paid. The large room but quite dated as well as the corridors that are very dirty. The cleaning staff is saved from the rooms that we were treated to 10 (That's why the two stars)

Fair in terms of cleanliness. Mediocre care. Great location.
Mandatory service fee of $ 40. Services that should be optional, such as internet, in-room water bottle (fake) and other facilities that should be included in the daily rates, at least as optional and not mandatory. If the fashion catches up, soon we will be paying for the use of air conditioning, elevator etc ...

Great hotel, beautiful clean rooms and friendly staff. I stayed on the 18th floor, dubbed the executive floor. Rooms where spacy, bath was beautiful and the room actually had a 50 inch TV which is nice. The close vicinity to times square guarantees a certain noise level but that goes with staying in the middle of Manhattan. I'll gladly stay here again.

Hotel should be investigated for fraud.

Hotel should be investigated for fraud.
They show these wonderful pictures of the hotel and rooms from 30 years ago and in reality the rooms are gross.
Unless we where given some horrible from
That doesn t exist anywhere else in the hotel
They are crocks. Sorry I didn t take pictures.

Nightmare hotel stay
No toilet paper in room, Room phone not working, so had to go Down reception wait in line and ask to have Maint to send toilet paper up. Shower head leaked and sprayed water All over bathroom, place small towel over Shower pipe to stop it, so we could shower. Tv remote didn t work. When i closed curtain their was a big Dried spit of something on the curtain. Glade i noticed when we where about to Checkout , not through our entire stay. Gave this info to manager when we left. Very old outdated room. Worst hotel room i have ever stayed in. Didn t know this could exist in the Theater district

Honestly, I loved my stay at the Manhattan. However, I felt that I wasn't always getting my money's worth for what we're paying. To get a Continental breakfast and queen beds was $50 extra. So...not terrible, but not really worth it for me. I'd probably come back if I'm ever in New York again.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the end of April / 2015 and it seemed very good. Its location is fantastic, its price is reasonable, its employees offer a good deal and many of them are bilingual, both my room and the places of this hotel that I saw were clean, the elevators are good, there are 4. The only thing that I do not The taste was that the windows in the room were so dirty on the outside that he can not take pictures through the glass. I recommend this hotel because for a not so high cost you have a good time and you can walk around the Midtown of Manhattan.

I came here for a fun birthday weekend for my young child. I should have believed all the reviews I read prior to booking. The rooms are not properly cleaned. Very dusty and the bathtub is nasty! On top of that it takes forever to get on the elevator! It s just so slow! Very Dingy! We definitely didn t enjoy our time here. Never again! So happy to be checking out tomorrow!

Meh. It was a very well priced room free of bugs. Our heat did not work well, if at all and we slept in sweatshirts. Bizarre outlet placement. Free wifi and a TV in every room. Wouldn't want to stay here long but was fine for a night.

It's nothing like they picture it on there website, the furniture are broken and Out dated, from the 90's, the shower doesn't drain, the wall Paper and carpet are Wrinkle and also out dated, the bathroom silin has a big hole top of the sync, if I could at least get half of what I paid for I will be happy.

The room I got was not what I was misled to believe I was getting when I booked it online. The room and the whole floor was dirty and dingy and they had the nerve to give us an additional bill for some BS hotel fees after we paid way too much on Priceline.

Do NOT stay at this hotel

Do NOT stay at this hotel

Water stains on the ceiling, pealing / torn wallpaper, light fixtures with rust / spots on the metal.

The corners of the walls on the carpeting and bathroom are dirty and have layers of grime built up.

There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and the room has a stuffy mildew smell.

Nowhere on my confirmation did it say anything about a resort fee, but I was still charged for one. When I asked the front desk about it, they said they would waive it, but then they would have to do it for everybody.

I ve called my credit card company to dispute the resort fee charge for optional amenities.

The only saving grace was the air conditioning worked well as well as the WiFi.

The two positives about the hotel are location and friendly staff- it s easy to get around and many touristic places are within walking distance which was great because we were traveling with our kids. Also the staff is friendly and that is always good. On the negatives, it was noisy (we could hear every single noise from outside - and we were on the 16th floor - also, the hotel rooms need a SERIOUS update, our room was very outdated, the furniture was full of scratches, the bed had a squeaky noise and to be honest cleanliness could be much better-e.g. I wasn t comfortable having my kids playing on the wall to wall carpet - the areas where the carpet met the wall were very dusty. The curtains and the wall paper were full of stains. The bathrooms were very outdated but clean - thank God.
Also, the beds were very uncomfortable. The mattresses were very soft (assuming it had an old mattress?) as well as the pillows. If you are used to a firm mattress - stay away from this hotel. My husband and I had a terrible night sleep.
Finally what I was the most disappointed about is that the pictures on the website are misleading. Our room was nothing like the room pictures on the website - and my perception of the rooms on the website was the main reason I booked a room at that hotel. Unfortunately we won t be returning to this hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our room. Close to everything we came to see Central Park, theaters, restaurants, museums, and more. Extremely economical, especially for NYC. The staff is proficient, friendly, and welcoming. Looking forward to our next visit!

Great location, horrible rooms! Unfortunately all of the previous negative reviews are true. This hotel is dirty and desperately needs an update. We experienced multiple issues during our 4-night stay including no hot water, two broken lamps, a deadbolt that barely latched and a shower curtain that reeked of mildew. Be prepared to pay for breakfast which includes a few pieces of fruit and stale croissants. Also, bring your own water or other drinks as every vending machine in the building is either broken or out of stock and don t expect to get anyone from the front desk on the phone. Save yourself and hassle and stay elsewhere.

- Rooms rather small, very noisy and bathrooms in need of renovation

Tip from my side, comparing the prices of different portals. Unfortunately, I have taken a rather expensive offer but on the hotel's own side you usually have very good deals.

Location was great since we were there to go to Madison Square Garden. Nice clean hotel staff was nice, my only issue was checking in. We were told we could check in at 130-2 but when we went to check in we were told not until 4, which was an inconvenience. And parking isn't included which stunk. Also we paid ahead of time and we were charged another fee when we checked in.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, other than that its awful. Where do I begin. The hotel walls are as thick as straws so late at night you can hear all the drunk Europeans laughing and jumping around loudly all night. Secondly someone 2 doors down from us ordered new towels, so they employee who brought it up had his speaker on so loud you can hear conversations going on in my hotel room at 12:00am! Then the T.V. we got had a little green line in the middle of it, which is obviously damages done by other people who were in it previously, but wasn't fixed. The Wifi is a joke, you have to sign in and if you dont use the internet for 15 minutes, it takes you off and you have to sign in ALL OVER again. This hotel is a joke, and a waste of money. Find another place, or better yet sleep in you're car.

Disappointed, in addition to convenient transportation, sound insulation is not good, noisy, small rooms, long waiting time for the elevator, and an additional $30 per night will be added.

This was the best priced hotel near times square that we found. The receptionist, Latasha, made the effort to try to find us the best room she could with a view as it was my first time to the city. The lobby was clean and nice. The basic rooms are nothing fancy but we just needed a place to crash. The workout room was considerably spacious with lots of windows. The Starbucks breakfast in the lobby was just what we needed. Lovely Christmas decorations. Great stay.

Lobby was nice. Rooms sub par. Need renovation badly. Carpets were dirty. Only one outlet in the room worked. Pretty heavy dust in room. Liner in bath was dirty and needed replaced. Pony up the extra $$$ and stay at the Sheraton across the street.

Hotel super central, Times Square and premises of all kinds, with movement of people at any time of day so it is super safe to walk until late night, several subway lines 2 minutes walk, impeccable facilities, for a family group the Room space is excellent and the staff in charge of suitcases is super friendly! I recommend it without hesitation !!

I stayed at the Manhattan a month ago and was bitten by BED BUGS! When we woke up in the morning it was crawling on my pillow. We got a refund and had to find another hotel which was a headache because we were only in NYC for the weekend. DO NOT STAY AT THE MANHATTAN hotel in NYC!!!
The worst part other than the bed bug bites was the fact that management and staff didn't appear too surprised!!! I am itching just thinking about it, YUK. The room was also visibly dusty...how do they stay in business???

The pictures of the hotel are totally misleading. The carpet is coming up everywhere. The room was outdated and the housekeeping was lackluster. I never felt they really cleaned the bathroom, and we had to ask for refills on the coffee packets and toiletries. The people at the registration desk were less than enthusiastic to say the least. I will never go back.

The customer service at the front desk was awful. The 11th floor was dirty in the main hall and the rooms as well.

Washroom floors were not mopped and there where no blankets on the beds just a thin sheet.

I would not recommend it

Hotel rooms could use some updating. Only one outlet was available in the room. Had to charge phone in bathroom or unplug something. Employees were great. Rooms look nothing like picture online

We booked online and they never told us it was $ 40.00 per night extra night since they charge the internet and international calls, we went up to the room and the bathtub and bathroom floor VERY dirty, the air conditioning was not served and there were things from guests, very low Old facilities and poor cleaning.
I would not recommend it, my room 2127 from January 1, 2020 to January 6, 2020

Everything within Times Square is a short walk awa...

Everything within Times Square is a short walk away, there's no need to catch a cab even in freezing weather, and the hotel doors have people walking through them at all times. Though what truly makes this hotel shine is the staff. Everyone's so kind, calm, and willing to help that you'd think you weren't in New York City at all. Especially Mohammed and Dolly, who were working the snack bar on both days I'd visited. My grandmother and I even managed to have a pretty solid conversation with Dolly as she'd finished her shift, and she's the sweetest woman I've met in such a hectic city. In addition to them are the cleaning staff, who weren't only kind but always on top of their game. Coming back to a clean room after every time I'd stepped out of the hotel for a bit was impressive.

The Manhattan at Times Square definitely feels dated though. The moment you walk in you may be greeted with a pretty solid lobby, but once you enter the elevators it's all downhill from there. The hallways were dark enough to make me feel as if I were walking through the set of a horror movie. People walking down the hall looked like shadows! My bedroom, albeit clean, made me want to spend more time outside if it than in it, and the WiFi costs you despite it frequently kicking you off. The walls are also pretty thin, so you'd better hope your neighbors aren't loud.

In the event that your room is solely to be used for sleeping and bathing, The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel is a phenomenal choice. It's nice, affordable, and it's location is tough to beat. If you're looking for a modern experience that's pleasing to the eye and plan on being in your room a lot, unfortunately, this place just doesn't deliver.

Very close to Time Square and Broadway, also easy access to E line for JFK. The room is a bit dated, my bathroom tiles are piling off and some of the light fixtures are no working. If you can get a good rate ($200 or under per night), I would go for it. After all, you are at NYC to enjoy the city, you won't stay in for long.

At first we had a terrible room with something blocking the view from the window but after going to the front desk got an excellent room. I don't know where they got four star from but it is clean and has an excellent location. I will stay again.

First impressions are great, lobby looks lovely then unfortunately it goes downhill.
The woman who checked us in was miserable and as soon as we exited the lift on floor 15 (room 1502) we knew it would be bad,the carpet in hallway all creased and lifted,a tripping hazard.
Our room had peeling paper, broken socket, curtain rail broken, mouldy bath, sink plug pushed down but had to lift it back out with nails and a fire alarm which looked like it had seen a dozen fire's.
Oh 1 plus is the location 5*

The hotel was a hole. Rooms were dirty. The ceiling was falling down in the bathroom. Wallpaper falling off, carpets are a wreck, bed was terrible. Then they charge $40 facility fee for what? When I complained at the end the receptionist was rude. Don't waste your money!

The location is just perfect for good eating and entertainment. A special shout out to Allison at the front desk. She was so friendly and gave awesome suggestions. When I come back I will check out The Manhattan first for rooms!

The location is the only good thing. If you spend the whole day in NY and only go to the hotel to sleep, it's okay. Not as expensive as the other hotels ... BUT
the rooms are really not nice. Not completely dirty, but definitely in need of renovation. The wallpaper is peeling off in some places and the corners are unclean and look totally shabby.
The chic lobby is deceptive. Already in the hallways you realize what kind of hotel it is ...
But the fitness studio is very good ... and the staff always tried hard, even if everything didn't always work out as desired (a third duvet for our 4-person room) we couldn't get it through: /

New York is a busy place. Skyscrapers, taxis, and googles of people everywhere. The place is excitingly overwhelming. Once you enter the NY air you can feel the excitement. The streets were dirty, but what more can you expect with people on top of each other at every corner. I found myself out for a late dinner and there were thousands of others like me at every turn...late into the night.... Some people like the smell of NYC. I found it at times nauseating. It is something resident New Yorkers have become accustomed to I am sure. I met people from all over the world. I honestly can't take anything away from this great place. I don't consider a place to take young children, but it is somewhere that everyone should go some time in their life. New York New York big city of dreams...

When the lobby is small and there are many people in the morning, you cannot relax.
