Rooms outdated. Plumbing really sucked. We ran the sink in the bathroom and it backed up. we could hear the water bubbling and gurgling in the sink in the bedroom. We found red hair in the sink. The room was freezing cold with the outdated hvac we had top to get blankets. Apparently, most people sleep with the heat off and they turn it off in may by housekeeping due to the Spring. Staff wax friendly enough. Didn't like that house keeping came at 9am while I was asleep to try and clean. There were questionable people outside. Rooms were nice and big. Bed slept comfortable enough. We were given the wrong key to the wrong room. But staff was nice enough.
I wont be ever staying here again.
The wonderful receptionist at the hotel on Saturday late afternoon was great. Cheerful and welcoming. The room was very clean and organized. If there would have been a microwave in the room and more lighting it would have been a little more convenient. However when we were checking out the two ladies who were at the front desk looked not so welcoming and the woman who did actually check me out was rude and made no eye contact when I was speaking to her Like it was a bother for her to do her job.
Location is easily seen from the road. Appearance and lobby were very classy looking however, the entire building is a bit dated. The staff was professional to an extent yet mildly unfriendly, however, they did their job. When we saw our room, it shocked us how big it was. It was very clean and the bathroom fixtures and tile appeared fairly new. The rest of the room was extremely dated, though and had somewhat of a musty/smoke smell. We got hungry for a snack at some point throughout the night and found one snack machine after roaming the maze of corridors and it was broken. That was the biggest disappointment of our stay. We otherwise very much enjoyed our stay for the price and would stay again next time we're in the area.
Staff is friendly....sticklers for 3pm.check-ins though. So arriving early doesnt matter
We enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day Buffet here today. Great food and a delightful atmosphere. We have been here for a wedding in the past, and I frequent the attached restaurant for a monthly networking meeting, and I have never been disappointed. The staff is quite helpful and friendly, too. I encourage anyone who is looking for a new place to eat, a place to stay while you are visiting this area, or if you are in need of banquet facilities to check out The Inn at Reading.
The hotel is old. Wifi is great but its not a good location for a hotel you can easily get lost.
Who does always good, service is great. Anytime there is an event at this place I don't feel like I need to be concerned about how well it is going to go off.
This is a VERY bad hotel they are rude and kicking you out with out notifying you. They also charge way too much for a room. The bathroom is filled with ants honestly my stay was not good. Hope you find this review helpful
This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I can barely list all the issues. First it is old and outdated. I had to wear shoes in the room to keep my feet clean. I had to call every day for extra tiwels. Three were 3 towels and 5 of us. Next I paid rate that included breakfast, but the restaurant had no working air do you couldn't stand even going--so hot they couldn't put the buffet out. Came in one night to find ZERO clean towels, trash still in cans, and no toilet paper. It was all in all a really bad experience. Sad part was the desk staff didn't seem bothered by any of the issues and seemed totally unwilling to adjust charge for the room or anything else due to the ongoing issues. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. This is in NO way the old Inn at Reading I knew and used for years.
Room was nice. Staff was friendly. Bed was comfortable
Little dated, but the price is good, staff is good do anything to help.
Went for a police cadet graduation banquet dinner, service was fantastic and food was great!
The room I stayed in was very old but was doable for a 1 night stay. They should really update a bunch of their furniture. The room and hallways also had an old smell and the rooms are definitely not sound proof, I could here the people in the room next to us talking and you could hear anything going on outside in the hallway very clearly.
BED BUGS! in both our rooms...very disappointed in management's reaction to the situation...like it's a reoccurring event and no big deal...the Reading Health Department needs to intervene for the public's safety.
Such a nice clean place. Very friendly staff. Rooms kept clean.
It was dirty, we never had enough towels. The poor staff seem over worked. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in, when we did get to the room the toilet was plugged. Our room was next to the laundry, staff room, and maintenance room. It was so disgusting nothing was clean. The ceiling leaked on me when it was raining. They have a very limited menu in the restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will never go back.
One of the finest hotels in reading Always a pleasure going to the unit reading for dinner or event great staff on hand
Spent my husband's pre-birthday long weekend with him! We had a grand time!
We booked this hotel as a quick stay over on our vacation. My wife said this hotel seemed like it used to be really nice but has gone downhill over time, and I 100% agree with that.
The bad - The overall landscaping and outside of the building appeared disheveled and neglected, A/C coverings falling off the units, etc. There seemed to be a large number of people hanging out outside of their buildings, with nothing going on. Which in and of itself isn't bad, just seemed odd. The TV in our room didn't work, but we were in our room for about 10 hours to sleep and shower so it wasn't the end of the world. Our room was a non-smoking room, but it definitely seemed like some other guests were not made aware of that. The room smelled like both cigarettes and marijuana. The hallways were fairly loud with voices from their rooms as well as TVs, but we didn't hear anything in our room.
The good - the room was very large, and the bathroom seemed like it had been updated relatively recently. The price was low (which is a good thing, I would have been upset if I had paid a lot and was expecting a nicer place). The shower worked well and despite being outdated, the room seemed clean. There were restaurants and a grocery store not too far away, which was convenient.
Overall, this hotel is a "you get what you pay for" type of place.
I stayed here four week nights. Very nice comfortable bed and nice clean room. Breakfast buffet was disappointing...no milk...no yogurt...no real butter, they missed the small things...but it counted. After 4 calls to the front desk went unanswered, I walked down to speak to a very rude young woman. She was overwhelmed, working alone on a busy night. Manager should of helped her instead of hanging out in lounge.
The place has bed bugs as verified by a guest and the employee at the front counter when our group was checking in. We cancelled our rooms and stayed in a different hotel. It took 2 weeks of calling and 10+ voicemails before i could finally speak to anyone in management. They would not refund my money even though I never stayed there. Never will I book this hotel again. Said I could only get my money back if I cancelled 24 hours before. Said they could have found us rooms without bed bugs if we chose to stay.
Awesome commodities and accommodations, wifi is a bit spotty but ask the lobby how to get on
Was there for a continuing education class for work. Food was good. Temperature control was much better than some other facilities I have used. Restrooms were clean. Carpeting is a bit dated but otherwise it was a very nice facility and I would sign up for classes there again.
The room was musty smelling. The sheets looked like they hadn't been changed, there were hairs on them. Service for the conference banquet was understaffed. Just overall not a pleasant experience. I would not recommend staying here.
BED BUG WARNING!!!!
This is by far the worst place I ever stayed at. We were displaced by a fire in our home and needed 2 rooms. we found bed bugs in 1 of the rooms so they comped us 1 night and moved us to another 2 rooms that seem to have mold im them. then they also hurried and charged my card for 2 more nights even tho my rooms were paid to date and i had a comp. i went to the desk the next day and spoke with the owner who is one of the rudest people I ever met. It then took 7 days for the money to go back on my debit card and they had no care we were being displaced by a fire. and they knew we were not lying because red cross was footing the bill. The resturent staff is nice but the front desk (excepy nelly), management and owner sucks. go somewhere else. make sure you see the pics below!!!
I CAUGHT THE BED BUG!!!
This hotel was very pleasant to stay at, the food was great and the pool and full bar were nice features. The room was clean with free internet access. I would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I stayed one night and then next day we found a bedbug in the room. When we told the manager, she did not offer any discounts on future visits. The place was musty and damp. Never again.
Cheap room for 1 night in wyomissing, other hotels charge a butt load I am happy to say that I got a good deal on a king room for1 night $50 the deposit was a little high for me at $50 but eh it was better than staying elsewhere. Room was huge and staff are very friendlyif you need a place to crash i would reccomend this place for an overnight
The hotel was old fashioned. But there were some teens outside jumping and hitting the sign all night and it kept us up.
I liked it only thing they need is a laundry room for people to do laundry them selves I didn't see it there if they did and a snack machine also other then that it was great for me
Very nice and clean, and friendly staff . Will stay there again.
Nice place to go clean rooms and not too expensive. I will be back.
It wasn't that good at all, our waiter looked like she was drunk and had Alzheimer's. They also FORCED us pay a 30 dollar tip. They also had a hard time refilling the food.
It was okay. The place was clean. No microwave. A small fridge with nothing in it. I still think the place was okay.
Worse service of my life, So disrespectful and is robbing people of there money. They lie about the rooms they have available and the manager mark or mike. He is so disrespectful worse place ever
Very disappointed with the conditions of my Room I traveled 10 hours to visit my Hometown and this hotel was not a very good experience. There was blood on the wash cloths I stepped on a rusty nail and the ceiling was falling out in the bathroom. I have been calling all week to speak to a manager and get a refund and get no response and just sent straight to voicemail.
I was only there for testing, but furniture in lobby, though dated, was comfortable.
Always love visiting the Inn at reading. I've been coming here for years as they have a pool, allow pets, have a in house bar, room service, billiard table and usually the hospitality is kind. Sometimes the patrons are a little off but I'm never there for them anyway.... the executive suites have California king size beds that are pretty much worth staying in your whole visit.. I want to buy one myself after falling into one. The only downer is years ago they had smoking rooms and now they do not, which is a HUGE deduction of brownie points.. but the other amenities make up for it. Whenever anyone asks where to stay while in town the inn at reading is in my top two. Did I mention they have all you can eat breakfast? It's free on Sundays I believe. And drinks from the bar can be ordered to the room fyi
I like how clean the bathroom and the rooms are. I like that the rooms are nonsmoking so I dont have to worry about burn holes in the blankets. Some things I dont like are that there is not a micorwave.
I stayed at the hotel back in April and injured my eye on a negligently installed soap dish that was at eye level near the shower head. The management refused to pay my medical bills or compensate me in any way. This hotel does not care about guest safety!
We stayed for one night in a 2 room suite and would recommend. The fixtures are a little dated but the bed was very comfortable, the room and overall hotel was clean and the staff was so great! I did notice they are updating just hasn't gotten to our room yet. The prices are also reasonable. Overall the experience was great and the staff was friendly and very quick to help with whatever we needed.
Little pricy and in my opinion not worthy of what they charge
Man the inn is a nice little hotel and a lot of things to do around u one thing i wish they would come to your room and clean more but over all just keep up the good work
Had a job interview there was a complete waste of time even with my experience I can't work there because I had a arrest 10 years ago even though I haven't been in trouble since I can't work there but I wasn't told until the end of the half an hour interview that they do background checks it should have been in the application
Had our 50th wedding Anniversary party there. Room was perfect and the help was just great.
Clean, spacious and affordable. My door didn t initially lock, but maintenance came quickly to fix the problem. Five stars if the bar/restaurant were open later than 11, especially since every restauarant in the area except Applebee s shuts down at 11.
Was here a few nights ago. First I m upset about when I called I was told the room would be $66 and some change. I got there and paid $76 and some change. Online it says $53. Then when I tried to get in Door 5 it wouldnt open at all. It was freezing and I had stuff in my arms. Had to call front desk from my cell phone just to have them say I should walk down to door 6 and try that one. I was NOT told about any $50 deposit that would be made with my card at check in. So two hours after I was checked in of course I m freaking out when I see $50 taken from my card. Then when I try to call front desk from my phone in my room using the front desk button I ended waking some poor guy up from another room because some how it called him instead of the front desk. I had to use my cell phone to call and the girl the at the time was very rude. I was not told about price of breakfast, or the vouchers that you apparently give out to only certain customers, so I assumed it Was included. So it took me forever to find my way to where the breakfast would be at just to find out I need a voucher or I pay $8. Then got lost on my way back to my room, asked the housekeeps for help , all said they don t speak English. Then at check out I asked would that $50 be put back on that day , I was told yes. Now I know it will be 3-5 days. The only positive thing that I can say Beside the beds being comfortable is that one out of 3 housekeepers did help me! Not sure of her name, just know she said she didn t speak English but handed me a pen and paper and prompted me to write what my room was . She took the time to direct me down the hall n around the corner to my room happily. She got a $10 tip from me for that. I m not one to ever leave bad reviews but this stay was not pleasant for me at all.
It was a good price, good location little outdated but overall I would definitely go back try the Ruben best thing at bar
It was centrally located to our convention goals. The food was good but the servers wanted to take your plates even when you were stil eating. I was not pleased with the cleanliness of the room. It needed a good vacuuming. Fridges were by request only -- not good. Lighting I room poor, lamp broken ( asked to get fixed - not thus had to turn off by unplugging). In general, it is unlikely we will stay here again.
They did not post our event on there sign, website or have even the rooms we used for meetings appropriately designated.
Our stay at the Inn at Reading was wonderful! Full of historical charm, this hotel was truly one of a kind. We arrived late on a Thursday evening and were checked in quickly and efficiently. The front desk staff was very friendly despite them being very busy!
The rooms were comfortable with a mini fridge and coffee maker. The beds were comfy as well! And it's only 7 minutes away from the Santander Arena!
We had a little hiccup in getting to our room as our keys needed reprogrammed. But that was fixed quickly! The only other thing I would like to let people know: if you have a light switch that operates the lamp next to your bed that has outlets built in to it - keep the light switch turned ON. Turn off the light manually with the toggle switch. That way, your items that need charged will be charged when you wake up.
Other than that little idiosyncasy, everything was lovely and I hope to be back again!
I was very disappointed with my recent stay for a lot of reasons which I will gladly expound upon if anyone wants to know.
Staff was pleasant and helpful. Hotel is dated and run down.
Good hotel for the price, didn't use any of the facilities but room was nice. Bed is super comfortable in the executive suite
Simple place, not like a Hampton inn. A little out dated.
Drove 3 hours only to be told they gave our room away...Extremely rude staff and overall bad experience. Front desk employee EMILY, told us that a nearby hotel would honor our room rate, that was a lie....Then after I was hung up on twice going back and forth with the front desk and management trying to figure out where we could sleep for the night, manager LISA finally said they would pay the difference at the other hotel... Funny, they called me 30 minutes after this review posted and made good on that. This all happened between 8pm-10pm on a Friday night and all they tried to do was get rid of us and offering false help. This happened to several other people on this same day. This place needs to be shut down. They don't know how to run a business or treat customers. Stay elsewhere. It made me click at least 1 star to post this, but they don't deserve any. And your response is a computer glitch??? That doesn't explain the lies and crappy service from employees!!!! Fool
Good food and rooms but there are no vending machine or soda in wing E are friends tv did not work either.
The conference room was nice. The luncheon was delicious.
Terrible experience . No maid service if staying over more than one day. Keys did not work i doors. Had to walk a mile for ice. Dirty parking lot dead pigeon and trash laying every where. Not a great time. Need updating.
Decent hotel with free parking. Nice reasonably priced breakfast on Sunday's.
Floors were nasty and blankets have old stains. I just hate the bath towels were nasty. Be aware that the heat didn't work in the room i was in.
This place is a hidden gem. The hotel is a motor inn, but prices are great for the area. The rooms are clean and neat, and service is good. The restaurant is the real hidden gem, the food is better than far more expensive hotels, and much less costly. I would give the restaurant and bar 6 stars. We ate there 4 nights, with different meals each night, and every one was excellent!!
Book through Priceline. Stayed multiple times for work for under $60. Great bar as well.
