Beautiful hotel with great service and wonderful rooms, in the best location in Amsterdam.
A quiet oasis next to the craziness of the red light district.

Great hotel - this is all you ned for a stay outside your home.
We wanted a hotel in the city center with good services and the quality of the stay was outstanding.
The welcome was perfect, the room extremely comfortable, the quality of the breakfast impeccable!
The hotel itself is a monument, the architecture and decor are absolutely beautiful, everything is well thought out.
We ate two succulent meals at the Bistro restaurant, where the desserts are worth a visit.
Thank you to all the team at Sofitel Legend THE GRAND!
Voor de derde keer deze zomer naar The Beach op de binnenplaats van The Grand in hartje Amsterdam. Grandioos! Zeer goede bediening; fantastisch eten.
I cannot say enough about our recent stay at the Sofitel Grand Amsterdam. Starting with Ingrid, at the front desk, who reassured me an accessible room was waiting for me, to Bayon (sp?) who greeted two very tired travelers at check in with hot towels and iced tea, to Michael who saw to it our room was arranged to suit our needs and continued to check back to be sure we were comfortable, to Nannetta and Luca in the restaurant, to each of bellhops and doormen who helped me negotiate the stairs and revolving door, our stay could not have been made more restful. Just a short walk from Dam Square, this lovely property is a quiet oasis, with its own fascinating history as a former royal palace. The restaurant is excellent. Be sure to enjoy your meal in the courtyard, weather permitting. My only regret was that our stay was a brief one. We highly recommend.
One of the best hotels of Amsterdam. The rooms are modern but in the public areas they kept the atmoshere of the past.
The best large hotel in Amsterdam. Big supporter of the local LGBTQ community.
Great hotel, very beautiful, good condition and very well situated. To lack promises and pampering with customers for a hotel of this caliber
Nice hotel, good food, good location near the centre of town
Service and staff are excellent food magnificent very nice place to stay
Beautiful historic hotel in an excellent location near Dam Square and lots of restaurants
Warm and cozy with an exquisite design. Central. The staff very friendly. Super recommendable
The absolute class, with the exception of restaurants, but it's the same everywhere in Amsterdam
Was afraid the high tea would be above my cast, they held me down with some haute cuisine Hot Dogs
Lovely and super-helpful staff, beautiful hotel, great location, really nice room and stunning breakfast!
If you do stay here, take them up on their offer of a tour of the building. There are gorgeous function rooms with interesting histories.
Overpriced and overrated hotel set in a historic building right next to the city s red light district.
The garden cafe is a nice quiet refuge for an afternoon coffee with cake in the heart of the city.
Waited in the garden of the hotel for half an hour with 5 of us, I even went personally to the waitress to ask if she was gonna help us, she said yes she's coming. After more than 30 minutes nobody came to take our order so we left. Service sucks here. It shouldn't matter if we're a bunch of girls for a bachelotette party or coming there in suits since we are lawyers/doctors. Because then they did come right away. Just rude.
Great staff and venue but could be better for tech.
This is a very elegant hotel in the middle of Amsterdam. Great location, very good service. All wishes are fulfilled here. We have been here for the third time. I can recommend it 100%.
Loved the room and the facilities. Breakfast was outstanding. Concierge and desk clerks were always helpful.
The experience was OUTSTANDING in all regards. The hotel is beautiful. The whole staff is friendly, courteous, helpful and immanently well-qualified. The concierge staff was particularly helpful in helping ensure our 3 days in Amsterdam went very, very well. The hotel location is excellent for touring Amsterdam. We enjoyed the hotel tour. The hotel is immaculate. The room was fantastic. We enjoyed the "surprise" in our room each evening-chocolate, cheese, etc. The Sofitel Legend is clearly deserving of the 5 star rating. The restaurant manager and wait staff were excellent. Food quality was excellent. We really enjoyed the breakfasts.
There are a number of beautiful counters with the arms of Amsterdam inlaid in veneer
From our arrival to our departure, we were very well received. The staff was very attentive to our every need. In a word, THANKS!
We felt very welcomed on arrival with attentive assistance from Glaucia Torrez. The room was very comfortable, hotel is beautiful and very well located, with delicious restaurant. In Amsterdam it does not get any better!
Very good service. One of my benchmarks for excellent service.
Very elegant hotel, with absolutely all services, very well located. Many dedicated and friendly personal staff. We sleep better there than in any other part of our trip.
Very stylish, say chic occasion with a lot of authentic history. Neat staff, in short, highly recommended!
Yesterday we were allowed to attend an event of Lifestyle Business Club, where we were spoiled with a delicious breakfast and also a Tour through The Grand where much of the History is shown. Incredibly friendly employee and the breakfast was delicious. I'll definitely return!
A super hotel very nice service and very nice people really nice rooms highly recommended
Very positive. Staff was very attentive the entire time, hotel is in excellent condition and very comfortable. Location was perfect.
Absolutely stunning hotel in a prime location along the canal. You are situated in walking distance of transportation and sights. The staff is exceptional, the onsite Michelin starred restaurant is fantastic and the grounds are well maintained. The rooms are impressive.
great hotel. lovely staff, excellent location and very nice Breakfast
We were warmly welcomed and fantastically supported during our entire stay.
Well located near Red light district of Amsterdam. Hotel has a colonial look and has a nice restaurant which offers wonderful service by staff which is very friendly and take care of your personal needs. Food is awesome! A walking distance to most popular places, you will love to stay here during your visit to Amsterdam.
All of my needs were exceeded by the amazing staff, from the moment I stepped from the taxi on arrival to checkout the staff made me feel welcome as if I were part of their family.. The hotel restaurant was also fantastic with a spectacular menu, would highly recommend the tasting menu du chef. Good location within walking distance to good shopping and many other good restaurants and of course the coffee shops if you are into the more exotic side of things. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, amenities top notch.
I heard that this hotel stay is really expensive! So I didn't choose to live, I only drank a very laid-back afternoon tea here and came to dinner the next day. How do you say dinner? Europeans are really slow, very delicate, 1 Michelin star (hope not remembered) Wrong), no accident, still eat fast for two hours, not enough to eat, but the disc is not refined, do you like it? I want to be different from person to person~
All the staff were exceptional! Perfect location, food and decor were excellent. Overall a wonderful experience!
You are a real guest .. You feel like a VIP. Delicious food in the restaurant, wonderful massage and great sleep. The beds are wonderful. Neat clean and incredibly friendly staff. Close to central station and the center
Genuinely surprised by how good this place is. Love the vibe, the lobby - Bars are GREAT and the Bridges restaurant is a special find!! Great staff all across the property. My room was especially teeny-tiny - but still, very happy. Natch - you are in a central spot...Very close to Dam Square and incredibly close to the fun/seedy side of town. So close, you can almost smell it. and by almost, I mean, you can actually smell it, if you turn right!! :)
I will file this spot under: Love.
This ritzy hotel in a storied building with a Dutch Classicist facade is 5 minutes walk from Royal Palace Amsterdam and 14 minutes on foot from the Anne Frank House.
Intimate, colorful rooms have walk-in showers and free Wi-Fi, plus flat-screen TVs and Nespresso machines. Suites add Bose entertainment systems and butler service; some feature kitchens, dining rooms and hammams. Room service is offered 24/7.
There's a classic bistro, an acclaimed seafood restaurant and a wine bar, plus a brown cafe, a cocktail bar and a cigar lounge. A chic 2-floor spa has a pool and a gym. There s also a florist and a business center.
Very nice hotel. Small staff with a special mention for the butler at breakfast. I will come back it's on!
Words can not express how grateful we will remain to the staff at Sofitel Legend. It was our daughter s birthday - and once they knew- they pulled out every stop... from a flower to the room to a off menu dessert prepared by the executive shelf. Such kindness. Exquisite service. Thank you!
In addition to the perfect location, it is the staff who take the level of The Grand to another level. The service level is unprecedented for the Netherlands and has ensured that our wedding has become unforgettable for both us and our guests.
Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, fantastic location. Can't recommend it highly enough!
Beautiful reception area with tulip displays shows imaginative use of flowers. My room was comfortable, with a view of the courtyard garden. The breakfast room had a large variety of items to choose from and good coffee.
I've been with Sofitel for a long time and been more than satisfied in other Cities. However, Sofitel Amsterdam was by far the worst. Perhaps the only notable things are the nice design of the hotel and the friendliness of everyone.
Now to talk about our experience, We booked a superior room with garden view for 1 week. The room had problems such as:
- AC in the bedroom was too noisy and despite telling the hotel more than one time, nothing happened.
-the curtains in the bedroom was jammed and after speaking about it mre than once, someone came to fix them a couple of days later.
-the room had 0 noise isolation and we could hear what i think was the elevator movement all day long and couldnt really sleep.
-the house keeping was one of the worst i've ever seen, the cleaning was very bad if there was any since they seem to finish in 10 minutes. Shower aminities were never changed until i complained almost on daily basis. We had mobile charging cables on the table in the bed room and found them thrown on the ground after the cleaning!. Sofa cushions were also on the ground!. My wife had a sleeping sock she always keeps next to the bed, it was missing after the cleaning and to our surprize we found it burried under the sheets (whoever cleaned or arranged the bed should have atleast checked)!
-this is just part of our experience and there is a lot to talk about, to be honest, we stayed in a 3 star hotel in paris the week before and it was way better than this one. Am really disappointed and shocked from this experience as this is not the Sofitel I know.
Great location, service deteriorated since our last visit, last year...but still ok
Friendly and courteous staff.
Clean and neat room.
Excellent food.
Perfect location
THE LOCATION WAS PERFECT AND THE HOTEL BEAUTIFUL. THE MOST IMPRESSIVE PART OF THE STAY WAS THE STAFF. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL AND ATTENTIVE. IN MY OPINION THEY MAKE THIS A 6 STAR HOTEL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE GOING TO AMSTERDAM.
From the moment you step into the Sofitel The Grand Amsterdam you are transported to a grand experience not available to everyone. We enjoyed every tiny detail. Thank you...
The hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam, a courteous and dedicated staff, the rooms are large, the hotel's restaurant is a little disappointed, the hotel has a book with indoor pool and sauna, and additional service for a historic and interesting tour of the hotel's history,
Mooie kamer, heerlijk bed en heerlijk eten. Diner was fantastisch.
The only 'minus':when we cheked in we were told that it was not necessary to make reservation for dinner in the Petit Bistrot. We tried to have dinner at 8.30 pm and...it was full booked :( ...
Probably one of the very best hotels the Netherlands has to offer.
Everything was great, only the room was not completely clean and the room card has worked after several attempts. In addition, the shower is difficult to use.
This was an outstanding hotel with a service from the staff which was second to none .
The room was exquisite ,clean and just so comfortable.
Highly recommended !
Overall a great experience friendly staff clean rooms etc. Although I found staff in small cafe on the side of Bridges lacking.
Outstanding clean and nice hotel with very good staff
Very beautiful - visually but also very "treatment". Neat, charming staff. Crazy nice place for such a hotel. Food excellent. Meeting facilities too.
Great place , convenient place , easy access to almost everything
