I absolutely adore this hotel for my Amsterdam trips. I've stayed here a number of times and the experience has always been positive. The hotel is conveniently located close to the shopping, museum and sightseeing areas, but being on one of the rings means you can have lovely views as well. And bonus - there is a canal boat stop just in front of it! The rooms are nice and spacious, and the concierge staff are friendly and helpful. Not only once have I forgotten an item behind and they were very happy to post it to me. During warm times they will also have a couple of tables outside, and you can enjoy a nice cuppa and do some people watching. Definitely one of the nicest hotels in Amsterdam!

Beautiful older hotel in a fantastic location. Our room overlooks the canal. Most of the museums are within walking distance, plus it's right next to the tram. Everyone has been very pleasant and helpful. There are loads of restaurants in the area to choose from. Pretty much everyone speaks English.

A spacious room with a gorgeously luxurious feel, this was a great place to stay. The location was excellent for seeing the city, with a tram stop almost at the door and Schipol Airport not too far away. The included breakfast was typically Dutch and everything we needed.

A really Charming place in an ideal location in the middle of Amsterdam. Very reasonably priced for a very nice hotel. Also, right across the street from where you can buy very reasonable tickets for tours including Bruges and City tickets for Amsterdam like museums and such.

Good Hotel, well located, according to what was expected, it is missing that someone in reception handled Spanish, but very attentive and careful to understand you,
I did not have breakfast included for some involuntary mistake, for 3 people it costs in the order of 41 euros, it is delicious and well served.
The comfortable room with bar fridge, large TV, view to the street, carpeted and double curtain.

Excellent location to tram lines along the Prinsengracht Canal. We took the tram from Amsterdam Centraal Station arriving and departing the train to and from Schiphol Airport. Really convenient. Remember you can buy tram tickets on most trams with a credit card from the customer service desk onboard toward the back of the tram.

Reception and main lobby is small but functional. Very nice big open lounge area off the lobby with a coffee machine, long table, books, sofas, toilets. The room has the old charm of exposed beams seen in many canal homes. A nice place to relax. Fitness center is small, but clean and functional with upright bike, treadmill, elliptical machine, kettle bells, and two multi stack weight dumbbells. There is also a small patio area on the second floor. The common areas are very clean and well kept.

We had a two twin room on the fifth floor and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room, bathroom, and view. Item of note, the television in the room also plays radio stations. I m a big fan of Classic FM Nederland, and that, and many other stations can be played via the television. Another great feature.

The customer service is exceptional. From the storage of luggage from an early arrival into Amsterdam until the room is clean, to having your room available earlier than posted check in time (obviously this depends on occupancy and availability). The reception staff were always patient and willing to help, whether my request for information on a concert we were attending, printing the tickets for it, or working through my mispronouncing Dutch. Slightly different policy of always keeping the key at reception seemed odd at first, but became second nature and actually made a lot of sense. Ability to purchase tickets for many attractions at the hotel and discount opportunities were also great.

Standout customer service experiences were two, one of which was INCREDIBLE. Maybe other properties do this too, but the hotel provides a complimentary service activated mobile phone that can be used with no service charge for data or voice usage - web surfing, map use, weather or current information, and even phone calls locally and to most countries. All complimentary. There is a charger in the room for the device for ease of charging. Obviously there are charges for loss or damage of the phone. An amazing resource.

The second experience was a holiday touch that hit the mark. Our stay was over what my family has called St. Nicholas Day in the US, December 5th. The hotel gave each room a mug depicting Amsterdam landmarks filled with kruidnootjes - a small traditional Dutch and Lowlands area ginger flavored cookie, similar to speculaas or a mild ginger snap. There was also a letter of the history and meaning behind Sinterklaas. What a welcome seasonally local cultural touch.

One last suggestion is the Costume Museum located not far from the hotel. It is a well presented museum about traditional Dutch clothing and its history. You can even choose, for a fee, to have your photo taken in traditional attire. As a bonus, you get a view inside a traditional canal house where the museum is located throughout its several floors. There is a nice small spot inside for coffee and appeltaart and also a sizable gift shop of quality items related to Dutch costumes.

We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Good hotel. We payed a little bit more and stayed in comfort rooms (409) at the rooftop - atmosphere was amazing! But firstly we came there - room was very cold, so we had to spend night without the heat. Also we had to ask for simple utilities: bathrobes and slippers. I would prefer it was handed at the time we arrived. But staff was helpful and pleasant!

4 star hotel with elderly rooms directly in the city center.

Rooms are very noisy from the street, especially with the tram running by.

Receptionist did never ask for an ID or proof that we stay in this hotel - therefore, anybody could have entered the room.

Beautiful and clean hotel, was upgraded to a canal view deluxe room for free too, which was great :)

Only weird thing was how they made you hand your key card in when you leave during the day, but wasn't really a major issue.

Absolutely amazing hotel! We stayed there for 5 nights and loved it! Our room was beautifully designed & furnished, it was specious, cosy and had everything we needed. The bathroom was huge! We stayed on the 5th floor and our big windows had an access to the rooftop, so it was like having our own small private balcony. And I guess you can t ask for a more central location. We had every type of restaurant right outside, plus the beautiful canals and the tram. And the stuff was lovely! Super recommend hotel! Great value for money!

Very close to the museum district and loads of restaurants in the surrounding streets. We were upgraded to the penthouse that has a fabulous view across the varied rooftops to Dam square and beyond. Other rooms overlook the canal. Tram line to the station stops on the bridge next to the hotel

The stay at the hotel was a present for my husband's birthday. At arrival the reception male staff acknowledged purpose of visiting and wished my husband happy birthday, and we found a small present in the room along with a greeting card. Our room was upgraded to a room with a view over the canal. Our room was beautiful, clean and everything was the way it should be. I couldn't find any faults, everything was perfect with our stay! We are grateful to the staff for spoiling us and making our stay memorable!

We are pleased with this hotel, and have had a pleasant stay here. Great location, many stores and good restaurants around. Walking distance to lots of sightseeing. The hotel is clean, and even though is near the canal windows are thick enough to let you sleep easily through the night. The hotel staff are all friendly, helpful, and speak English fluently. Also hotel provides a free cell phone which we used everywhere we went for direction. We will return to this hotel again in our next trip to Amsterdam.

Good hotel. Central near Leitzplain. 650 meters of shopping plumbing (Kalvstrasse). Kind staff. Coffee machine 24/7. Room service is available daily. fair price. Note the city tax that is added to the account outside of what is listed on the booking. We set out to add 84 euros for seven nights.

Great location, rooms differ in quality. Was part of a 3 couples group. Our room's size /view/ease of access (additional stairs) varied between the rooms(same category).
The breakfast was excellent and totally worth the money.
Bed was great.
Standing shower had great pressure and hot water.
Room was always very clean.
Room. Tips :try and get a room with no stairs (the 2nd floor has 5 rooms that are half a floor above /below).
Staff was super friendly and helpful.

It did not get 5 stars because of the stairs mid floor, drinking water jug in the lobby often being clogged. Would have given 4.5 if i could.

Love the location. Rooms were nicely appointed, though shower was a bit tricky to get into and out of (also the amount of water inadvertently sprayed on the rest of the bathroom was something...). Handy device (phone for navigation and mobile internet) was a nice benefit. Will book again.

Ontbijt was goed , lekkere koffie en warm en gezellig onthaal door het personeel
De kamers en het tapijt kunnen wel weer een update gebruiken

We tried to go, was closed with no announcements on the site, and a disgusting approach from the hotel employee. In a city with dozens of restaurants don't bother. It might be closed and it's all your fault

Nothing fancy, but very comfortable, spacious rooms, friendly, helpful staff, steps from tram stop, quiet, safe, and conveniently located in walking distance to good restaurants and cool things to see. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel but they make you give your key to the receptionist before you leave, which I found kind of odd. Rooms are nice and tidy. Shower has nice pressure which is a big deal for me after visiting from suburban Italy. Central to all the fun. Overall I'd stay here again and would recommend.

Visiting from the United States and was somehow able to book this only several hours before visiting Amsterdam. Such a beautiful, quaint and clean hotel located conveniently near shops and restaurants and public transportation. There is a lot of action going on and my room had a view overlooking one of the canals near a main intersection. Lots of activity but the glass is thick so you won't be disturbed while sleeping. Also great is the late checkout and breakfast being served until 1130 on the weekends. Highly recommend it.
