We had a great welcome, lovely to relax in the attractive lounge with various cozy corners and beautiful flowers and magazines and newspapers to read. Afterwards delicious food in the restaurant overlooking the inner garden with nice lights everywhere. Indoor plants everywhere well cared for.
The food was prepared and served with care. We had a very nice evening !! We will be back soon

A great hotel with a loving authentic service, great room services, star restaurant Bridges and magnificent breakfast. Gladly again.

721 was a room we had stayed in before and enjoyed and we were pleased we got it again. The private driver going to the tulip festival was great. We also enjoyed both restaurants and the Dutchman bar. The somm was very helpful. Any time we needed anything the Concierge desk was happy to help including two dental emergencies.

Last visit here was for the Christmas brunch. The building is stunning. The employees friendly and professional. The live music very pleasant. The food could have been a bit better though, especially for this price. For example the pasta was slightly overcooked. And we could notice there was a bit of confusion between the kitchen and the waiters. But all in all a great experience.

Best hotel in Amsterdam; with ever so personable service & attention to detail. We got upgraded from the Junior suite to the Prestige suite, which was much appreciated as we were a party of 3. Great turndown service, appreciated the small touches.
Bridges, the attached Michelin star seafood restaurant was great, we went back for lunch and dinner on the same day.

Beautiful building. Service of the front desk leaves a lot to be desired. They couldn't even make a proper reservation for their own hotel restaurant. Missed phone calls, and forgotten requests at $500 or more per night is not acceptable

One of those truly amazing hotels, you can never get enough of. Centrally located, this historic hotel, the former city hall until the 1970 s (this was explained so passionately by Guest Relations Manager Michael) is not only an island of calm and refinement in the bustling neighborhood, it is a haven of hospitality, warmth, friendliness and great food (Bridges Restaurant). Not to forget the super Martinis we were served by the bartender who is another icon in this legendary hotel.
I had the pleasure of staying in one of the beautifully appointed new hotel rooms - an elegant merge of classic, hints of local flair and all the modernity you expect from a luxury hotel in the heart of Amsterdam.

Thank you Sofitel Legend Amsterdam for a wonderful stay - I will be back, and those of you who have not decided - seek no further. You have found your home away from home.
A last hint for the travelers: ask to see the historic city council rooms on the first floor. Simply amazing!

Nice place, kind service at reception desk but totally inefficient and disorganized service for lunch and breakfast.

Everything was beautiful, the breakfast, the rooms and the staff went out of their way to make it the best for you.

Remains a nice hotel for business photography and wedding photography. Staff always friendly, even with a snack and drink the photographer is thought of as it should be. Can other locations learn something from it.

Great service and nice rooms! Staff will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Didn t enjoy the breakfast as much though, my coffee was served lukewarm and not strong enough.

wowowowowwww my massage was super relaxing great, LUCIA my masseur is super great because she really know how to give a relaxing rejuvenating massage and helps your body mind and soul to be healed by her gentle but firm touch and my day felt complete and revitalized, the spa and hotel is a place to relax and the friendly relaxing enviroment is perfect to chill and just being lazy

Had afternoon tea at Sofitel the Grand Amsterdam yesterday using a promotion by Albertheijn. So I'm not sure if the experience I had is related to me going there and not paying the full price or not. The different tea flavors they served throughout the afternoon tea 'complemented' the different courses, but they didn't change tea cups so what we got, was that different kinds of teas mixed together, and for a star restaurant like Sofitel, I think they can afford to switch tea cups if they are serving different flavored teas and they pour a lot of the tea leaves in your tea cup while serving the tea. I expected more from the food, but I was very disappointed with it. This however is a personal problem as I don't like alcohol and the jam for the scones was made of port. I could smell amd taste the port with every bite. I didn't like the flavor of the macaron. It was also too soft, instead of a bit cripsy/chewy. The servers didn't explain to each table what they were serving so we had no idea what everything was. To end my review on a positive note:: the area where the afternoon tea was held was very nice and cosy.

Hotel staff very friendly and at the height of the establishment. A big thank you to the concierges who are great. The rooms are unfortunately a bit dated. But the star and the other facilities are correct.

Nice building
Very friendly staff
Excellent food

On the other hand:
Gym is super small and not very well equipped (less than a standard Hilton)
Breakfast service was hectic and very slow (maybe they were understaffed)

Overall a very good hotel, however with a very high rate. Not worth the mark up in my view though.

Wonderful canal view and amazing service. Very spacious rooms with great amenities. Highly recommended the Michelin star restaurant Bridges they serve delicious and creative seafood dishes. Great location to explore Amsterdam.

Excellent stay! Delicious eaten. Attentive service and super cozy. There is also a spa and a disposable swimsuit if you have forgotten your suit !!! Well, that is special !!!!

We were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded on checking into the hotel. Service by all members of the staff was excellent. Breakfasts and lunches were delicious. We did not have an evening meal there.

My first time at the Legend was a fantastic experience. The staff is super attentive and was always super friendly. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try out the butler service, which was offered to me as a platinum member, as I was there for business and had no specific needs in those few hours I spend in the room.

The staff at the bar was fantastic. Its worth trying a cocktail as the bartender can make you something very special.

I have to discount the score from a 10 to a 9 as the Gym is really too small and feels very cramped, which is important for me after a days work

High Tea did not represent much, but a great expectation was high

We stay over 60 nights a year in hotels and expected more from this 5 star hotel. The room we were 'allocated' fell short of our expectancy and we experienced several problems both with the location of the room and housekeeping. Check in was good, we were escorted to our room, turned out to be the top floor, a long way from the elevator and overlooking the street. We discovered being in a room on the top floor meant that the eaves were a problem . We asked for a lighter weight bedding and more coat hangers,
both flung on the couch when we were at dinner. I remade the bed and put the hangers in the wardrobe.
At night the street was noisy, bathroom drains smelled. We had asked for a quiet room. Rather than have us leave, the hotel upgraded our room but did not add the extra pillows previously requested, we did not bother to request them. We had one good nights sleep. At check out the hotel gave us a gift, we would much rather have had a better Hotel experience.

The reception of the staff was exceptional and their attention impeccable

Beautiful hotel with great facilities and atmosphere. The dinner cooked by an external party was delicious. The only thing that bothered me was the inclination of the hotel design towards tackiness. Great staff made up for that though.

Beautiful and cozy rooms. Excellent staff, especially the Butler - Domingo. The food is excellent. However, I am not sure the staff is kin on cleanliness. The toilet was not cleaned well when we firt got there. The restaurant's cutlery and glasses were not all clean as well.

Pleasant flair, very friendly and courteous staff, great location in the city.
Only the electrical system is in need of improvement. The slot for the power card is only eraten, sometimes not all sockets work.

Also 6 stars for The Grand! What a rest and luxury. Nice spacious room and super bed. Dined at the Chefs Table, in the beating heart of Star Restaurant Bridges. Menu du Chef, 8 courses selected by Raoul Meuwese. Matching wines with beautiful Riesling, Rioja, Chenin Blanc and very special (red) desert wine. We enjoyed. Also the breakfast the next morning was great. Recommended old-fashioned French toast with Maple syrup.

My wife and I spent three nights at the Sofitel The Grant in Amsterdam. Beginning with the check-in we were gradly surprised with an upgrade to a better suite. The butler service was good and our butler, Luis, was very helpful in providing city information and restaurants. The highlight of our stay was Ms. Fabienne van der Bergh, Guest Relations, that we met in an evening cocktail. We had a long casual conversation, she recommended restaurants of Dutch cuisine and we attended to the hotel tour the next day with her. The day of our departure Ms. van der Bergh presented us with a package with Dutch delicacies which was highly appreciated.

Hotel well located, easy access in a pleasant setting. Very nice and attentive staff. Spacious and comfortable room. All that we had a pleasant stay too short to fully appreciate all the services offered by this hotel. I will come back with pleasure and recommend the delicious restaurant.

We have had a very good experience with your hotel until we checked out. We were surprised that we were asked to pay extra for two adults staying.

We tried to resolve the matter when we checked out but the manager refused to do so.

We made a sample booking for the same room we stayed at your hotel today, the charges for two or one adult staying are the same for a canal room at your hotel. We were charged 45 extra for 2 night stays, and we are seeking a refund.
