The Garden Hotel, Guangzhou Review

The experience is good, the hotel is a bit old, but the hardware is not bad, the speed is also very strong

The hotel is a nice time, the breakfasts are excellent, the location is sweet, you get texas along, around the hotel restaurants, pharmacies and everything

A very nice hotel in metropolitan Guangzhou. We rate this among our favorites in China because it has an excellent swimming pool. Also close to good places to eat, supermarkets, and the Guangzhou subway train line. The hotel grounds are nice too.

This was our second time staying at the Garden Hotel. The hotel is beautiful and the bedrooms are very comfortable. Unfortunately this year we experienced some examples of poor service. This was particularly true in the Lotus Pond bar where service was slow and on one occasion the waiter did not fill our order correctly. He provided a soft drink only and did not include the brandy but charged us for the brandy. Although this was eventually sorted out it was difficult at the time.
When we left the hotel to go back to the airport we booked the airport car. When we pulled up at the airport the driver walked around and opened the boot and a lady dashed over and loaded our cases on to a trolley and ran away with them! We chased after her and the only way she would give us the trolley back was for us to give her money. This was a nasty experience for us as - and we felt that the driver could have intervened to prevent this lady loading our cases on to a trolley without our permission.

The staffs were very helpful, highly recommended to all travelers who like to visit GZ

I was impressed with Albert from concierge that was very helpful and sincere with his approach, some staff try too hard or in my experience would like you to think that they are trying - Albert was a natural.

Hotel is nice overall but i have some comments
1- staff can barely speak English and its hard to communicate with them sometimes
2-when i went to my room..there was no hand soap or shower gel or nothing..so i called to provide it...later on they have knocked my door with a bag full of soaps and creams and gels and just put it over the table and left..without even place it in its place , even no apologies at all... i was not waiting for one but i guess its was nice if they apologized.

I like the hotel it s nice but it s old and it s always full

1. You need to put chairs in the lobby.
2. Put the bar in the middle so your guest can wait & have a drink, it creates a better atmosphere and generates revenue to the hotel rather than putting flowers there so people taking pictures.

Staying at the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou is a pretty predictable stay. Even though it is a huge hotel with 828 rooms, it doesnt feel as crowded as it really is. No waiting lines at breakfast, good and fast service to and from the Fair, and to our surprise, we used the shuttle service from the hotel door to HK airport by bus, and it was great!!! specially when air tickets are sold out and you can avoid the hustle of having to go to the Train station with a lot of heavy bags.

One of the best international hotels here. I have stayed here thrice. They have good food... good service.

The room is also clean and easy to sleep. Facilities in hotel are substantial, too. But the amenities are normal.

Especially the entrance is very wide and beautiful, and I am impressed by the display that changes seasonally.

The staff members are also very polite and impressive.

It is a nice hotel and the rooms are clean and modern.

Rooms are really great, the breakfast is also really great, they had a nice band in the evening in the lobby bar, but if a guest gets angry couse of the hotel something works wrong.
Internet connection is really strange here, i hat so many issues. Last consequence was to sit on the floor in front of my room to use it. When i told it one of the workers he just told me its working fine on his device. Great answer to a guest.
Also i put on the DO NOT DISTURB sign but get disturbed whole day. First they knocked on the door, than they called me via hotel phone and than rang my doorbell in the evening. Why is there even a sign if it gets ignored anyway?
I think 4 Stars are fine but for the 5th you need to be perfect and it really wasn't.

Very convenient location. It is a few steps to the subway station.The surrounding area is less chaotic than the most part of the city . The service is very good. Everyone is helpful and polite. The hotel is big and beautiful. The room is very comfortable. Will go back.

This place is amazing...great location and beatiful veiw. Excellent staff. Wide selection of restaurants but the rooms are so big and spacious. His staff is world class top notch. I have stayed here on my last 5 trips to guangzhou and will continue into the future. The Observatory is perfect to grab a drink and watch the sunset. The Croft is excellent for curry or burgers and beer. The hotel has an amazing breakfast every morning. The rooms are perfect.this hotel is my home in china.thank you.

in general was good stay but you need to improve some pof your services like coffe shop in the main hall.

I had an excellent experience at the Garden Hotel. The lobby and facilities are lovely. There are flowers everywhere! The staff is truly friendly and accommodating. I had a multiroom suite with great views of the city. It was also very quiet. My bath was incredible! The Toto Washlet bidet seat was an added bonus. I arrived to a tea service set up in my room that was tested the following day. Plus turn down service brought more treats (not vegan, but the thought was appreciated). There was an exercise bike and yoga mat provided in my room. It was really over the top luxurious. The executive lounge had breakfast and happy hour food. Not many vegan options, but some. I was at the hotel for a work function and the facility excelled in that area, too. Staff worked to try to address every issue. And made sure that I got a delicious vegan lunch!

A wonderful big hotel in a posh area of Guangzhou city, opposite to World Trade Center. But the hotel seems very crowded and very much commercial.

Without a doubt one of the best hotels in Guangzhou.

In general, wel organized, should improve on control, could get breakfast without paying.
Rooms, perfect, close to perfect. Laundrey service received one piece with some defects, , to get them wash all laundrey anyhow, made it difficult evening before leaving. unnecessary delay.

Check inprocess takes too long for people from international flights, who have spent more 12 hours inplane,2 hours after landing to arrive at hotel. They only need one thing, fast bed.

Check out procedure took too long, when checking out at counter took more than 15 minutes to get things sorted out.
Should not happen, you plan trip and arrive at airport certain time, when want to leave hotel 08.00 for airport, should be managable when at counter 07.50 you are on road for airport around 08.00 not 08.15.

So major concern, old management system for check-in check out might endagenr their operation.

come in garden hotel past 5 years 2* a year, have feeling pricing is becoming better/lower service stays oke.

Great hotel in terms of cleanliness, luxury and good treatment

Great hotel and this the 7 years I have been staying at the Garden Hotel but the only thing that some of the staff need to be more train to English language as some time they misunderstand what customers needs.
But other than that it's perfect hotel .

A very excellent hotel, and a landmark of the Chinese city of Guangzhou, a great location, the hotel is very luxurious, and the rooms are wonderful, and the room price is about 1000 riyals per night.
I enjoyed the hotel's accommodation experience, and I highly recommend it. . .

We stayed for 8 days at the Garden Hotel. It was a good experience for us. The staff were friendly and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. One drawback to a long stay is there was no was to prepare any food so we had to eat out each night.

The Garden Hotel is very excellent and elegant. There are offices of airlines such as Thai Airways inside the hotel

Check out forgot to invoice, the service desk did not remind. I have sent an email now, and no one has responded yet. I don't know why.

My wife and I stayed at Garden Hotel when visiting Guangzhou from Hong Kong in July 2016. We had a very pleasant stay as always, and I think it's our third or fourth time or so staying there. We got the breakfast when we checked in and staff then told us there was a promotion of around RMB 340 for two breakfasts and upgrade to a suite. Nice little surprise! Check-in and check-out was now quicker than before which was also appreciated. I would recommend Garden Hotel for weekend trips, and the location on Huanshi Dong Lu is also convenient for visiting different areas around GZ.

Fantastic hotel! The rooms are great! Very good accessibility with a train station right outside the hotel. Great ambience.

Fantastic place...everything. The food, rooms, the staff you name it. Just great

It turned out later that you were billed for the amount of Mini Bar you were not using. Despite saying "use is No" at the time of checkout, being charged is terrible. It was a failure that I did not check the bill because I said No. Untrusted.

I cant say nothing bad about it , everything was ok , one note that i have to mention that the Arabic breakfast corner just perfect for me

An Excellent hotel which has a fabulous interior, the restaurants too are very good and so is the Breakfast buffet. The rooms however are slightly small but comfortable and manageable. On closer inspection the rooms are dated and need some amount of Maintenance. The staff is warm and friendly, Overall a wonderful place to stay.

The accommodations were outstanding. We especially enjoyed our evenings in the executive lounge happy hour, where Yuki, Joyce, Ivan and Abby were wonderful!

Room is comfy and upgraded..with thx. Efficient room service and friendly counter staffs. Great breakfasts, love it!

This is my third year staying in the Garden Hotel, coming twice a year for the Canton Fair.
All staff, supervisors & managers were friendly & helpful at all times.
Managers were all ears listening to my complains to improve the quality of services & their actions to fix problems were extraordinary!
I will continue staying in this hotel & I shall recommend it to friends.

It could be perfect if not for the staff at the breakfast who removes all the cutlery and teacup for the next guest when I've gone to take some food. When I came back with my plate of food; someone else is already sitting in my place. This happens very often. Your Manager has been informed but no action was taken. May I suggest some form of procedure for your waiters/waitresses to know whether the guest has finished his/her breakfast; e.g. guest place the cutlery on the plate/s or something to indicate the same.

The hotel is great, the rooms are comfortable and the location is strategically flawed and there is no lobby to wait near reception

The building a little old but all renovated very nice. I am satisfied about price because very Clean, best location with Turkish/Arabic/Italian/Latin and more restaurant nearby, nice garden and high waterfall with great breakfast. We stay 6 nights 11-17 MAY 2018. Highly recommended.

Although The Garden Hotel is one of the oldest five star hotels in Guangzhou, it has held the high standard and is a very beautiful place to stay.

The overall hotel staff service attitude is sincere and courteous

About ten years ago, it was the only luxury hotel in Guangzhou, like the Swan Hotel. There are many night spots enjoyed by wealthy young people nearby, making it a highly convenient hotel. There are also Japanese consulates in the Kondoro office building, which is also located there, so there are many Japanese at that time, so it was managed by Okura Hotels, so the service was excellent as a Communist hotel. . At present, there is a subway station, and I think that it is a hotel with high cospa except for hotels with good transportation access and foreign-affiliated companies.

First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Justin Deng from the reservation department for making proper arrangements for me on June 27th, making my journey convenient and comfortable. Ms Cassie and Miss Kitty in the executive floor department are very friendly and hardworking. Mr. Chu in the team is also very careful and conscientious.
Unfortunately, on July 1st; something happened that made me very unsatisfied and unpleasant. It was the account statement. At about 11 o'clock in the morning after breakfast, Miss Cassie checked the room for me. She said: The room rate is cheaper than the original price. 69.59. The receipt listed a Daily Sales#950. So I handed in all the accounts. The matter was originally over.
At dusk, I met Ms. Cherry, one of our two staff (Dana and Cherry), in front of the hotel on the political floor. I told her that the room and other expenses had been paid in full. Please check. So Ms. Aida, a clerk on the executive floor, asked me to pay an extra 70 yuan. She cancelled my daily sales discount for that day. In the receipt, she did not print out the sheet of paper clearly specifying the discount. Since I did not bring the original receipt (in the morning), I paid 70 yuan to Miss Aida. However, I felt puzzled. I went back to the room to check the receipt and brought it to the front desk on the first floor to ask the staff Miss Kitty to investigate. She then printed the receipt to me and told me that the discount had been withdrawn. Miss Kitty took back my original receipt. I asked her to return the original receipt several times, but she refused. This is obviously to hide the truth and not give me the Daily Sales discount on the day.
This incident made me feel deceived. It was said that there were discounts on house prices, no matter how much they were, they should be given to customers.
Ms. Aida's approach is to exploit customers' due rights, and she loses confidence in the hotel's services.

Club Floor staff excellent polite and helpful Nothing was a problem .

Garden Hotel is my first choice to go to Guangzhou every time. The location is very convenient, the service is very efficient and warm, every time can help me solve urgent problems, especially this time I am sick, the waiter and the front desk are very concerned and helpful.

Absolutely wonderful hotel! I am a bit ashamed but I did not leave the hotel to go visit the surroundings... the spa treatments are fantastic too and the personal is polite and professional. It is the first time I have a heated bed while I get a massage.
The take care of details and the room are equipped with anything you might need.
