Stay here. After staying around the world in the first hotels, we have found The Colonnade to be the best hotel experience. It's value was the icing on the cake. From the exceptional customer service, to their roof top bar/pool to their amazing amenities, I have to say this has been our favorite hotel stay!
Location is perfect for traveling in and out of the City- either by car or mass transit. The neighborhood around the corner looks like a scene from Seasame Street- lovely brownstones surround by green parks you can stroll through.
Great food and shopping across the street. They truly thought of everything to make out stay perfect.

Lobby is closed (none to speak of). Room had small window (not like picture). Pool closed early. Restaurant also under construction. Need to avoid this year, and make sure you get the right room. Regardless, nothing special, overpriced.

During check in they told me $100 a night deposit for the stay, I'm staying 7 nights, seemed excessive. Told I was upgraded to a larger room king bed, that's fine room is just a tiny bit bigger then average room. All wood furniture is scuffed, scrapped and ding up bad. This was the upgraded room. Bathroom odd nice. Table chairs are metal and dark wood black leather they are nice but there are multiple huge lamps around table. Bed really worn on one side, bed linings were dirty, black marks on one pillow case the other a reddish Orange color on tip of pillow case. Pulled back sheets a small brown stain at head of bed. Front desk very apologetic, the women who came to change bedding was not. Thr phone hand set did not work only speaker phone part. It's 3 days into the stay currently

Overall a very decent hotel. I stayed here in the winter so I was not able to utilize the rooftop pool but it sounds fantastic. The location of the Colonnade is top notch--it puts you close to Newbury St, the Prudential Center, Fenway and downtown Boston. There are a lot of great food options within walking distance and the hotel restaurant is great as well. The rooms can feel a bit small at points but the experience is a great one. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Boston.

Avoid, if an emergency comes up the front office manager is going to make you pay your full bill even if a family member dies. These are the lowest forms of human life and there is nothing the front office manager will not do to you if given a chance.

Overpriced for what you actually get in the room during the off season (fall). No indoor pool, the mini fridge was never filled the only items you get are 2bottles of water and some coffee for the coffee maker. The photos on the website show a fridge full of items,I stayed 5 days never once was it filled with anything. The water was placed next to coffee maker. The rooms also lack in maintenance, paint was peeling ,mold in shower. Not going back.

Delightful hotel in the very middle of everything. Surrounded by and includes outstanding restaurants with helpful and friendly staff. Occasional outbursts of noisy guests late at night who quickly came to their senses Strongly recommended.

Great hotel. My party was upgraded for free to a room with an INCREDIBLE view of the city. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious and we did not mind spending time there at all. The rooftop pool was simply amazing and provides an even better view of the city than the room did. Great atmosphere and vibe through and through.

The staff are very helpful and friendly.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the city. The pool in particular is an absolute joy on a hot summer day.

Average hotel room with small bathroom. No bar/restaurant (apparently they are being renovated). Minimalistic continental breakfast. No hot water one morning. Very comfortable bed. Was given chocolate strawberries and wine for my birthday. Worked out at $520 Canadian per night with taxes - you can do better for that money.

The location is great and the renovated rooms are very nice. However, I chose the hotel because of the rooftop pool which is highlighted on every website. My stay was for Sept 6-8 and I assumed the pool was still open. None of the websites indicated that the pool was closed Labor Day. Also, I received an email a day in advance telling me that the restaurant was closed for renovation. Too late for me to make other accommodations. The hotel also takes prepayment of $100 on credit card for incidentals, but cannot provide a zero balance receipt upon departure. They can only confirm verbally and they were very defensive when I suggested that they make that recommendation to management,

This is our second stay at the Colonnade. It's in a great Back Bay location and it's convenient to just about everything. The Green Line subway is just steps from the door. Our king bed room was comfortable and pretty spacious - big enough to easily fit a rollaway. The bed was good and the room has a coffee maker and refrigerator. The smallish rooftop pool is a great place to grab a bite or a drink. Staff is helpful and friendly. There's a grocery store and shopping mall across the street, which is very convenient.

It's a small notch below some of the nicer hotels in the area, but they usually have good rates that make up for it.

The front desk as well as the bell service made it so incredibly easy to check in and made us feel welcome our entire stay. The checking out process was also as easy and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in the Boston area at Copley Square.

Completely enjoyed my stay . Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel, most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. I would recommend it and I would stay there again if I ever returned.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Room extraordinarily comfortable. Bed and pillow were perfection. I usually cannot sleep well in hotels but was so very comfortable, almost immediately drifted off into a pleasant slumber. Staff is great. Particularly the night service associate. Very calming and welcoming presence!

Our stay at the Colonnade was extremely enjoyable. All of our interactions with the staff were very pleasant, on the phone, in the lobby and housekeeping. The room was very comfortable and clean with wonderful bedding. We enjoyed our dinner at the hotel restaurant, Brasserie Jo, immensely.

Come and experience for yourself a taste of the Colonnade hospitality; we did! It was everything it had been 46 years ago on our wedding night in 1972 when the Colonnade had been opened for about six months. Excellence at its best. From the moment you enter the hotel until you exit. Kindness, courtesy, and helpfulness all made our stay a memorable one.

Great location, great lobby, but certain bad points came out during our stay. There is very little sound proofing. I could clearly hear the family next door to us, clearly heard conversations through doors as I walked past then. Our room was next to the entrance door to the apartments next door, so there was a lot of traffic going through. What we heard at all hours of the day was the open, slam, open, slam of this door. When we asked for a change of room, we were told that there weren't any comparable rooms available. We had trouble controlling the room temperature. It was quite cold in the room despite turning the thermostat up. Even hours later we couldn't feel an increase in temp. There were odd rips in the sheets and the television only worked sporadically (certain channels came in, others did not). Despite all of these complaints, the concierge was great (special shout out to Thomas who was amazing), as were the valets. This is supposed to be a quite nice luxury hotel, but there were too many disturbances to back up their reputation.

My husband bought this room as a birthday gift for myself and 2 friends to enjoy. Upon arrival, it was nice. I learned there was a $48/night charge in addition to the room fee, we had 2 nights which made it nearly another $100.00! I was not pleased with that. But it's Boston, where else will you safely park??? We were impressed with how luxurious our room looked. Our first night was ok, a.m. Showers were not pleasant because the tub did not drain properly so I stood in almost a half full tub during my 10 min shower. It was remedied that day, but not what I'd expect to deal with at a "4 Star" hotel. On our second night, one friend awoke at 2am due to a cigarette smell. Now mind you there are "NO Smoking" signs all over the hotel. It is actually ILLEGAL in Massachusetts to smoke indoors anywhere. So the front desk was called. Apparently they addressed the problem by asking that room occupant to stop smoking. Fair enough, right? Well the next morning, all 3 of us smell it again! Called to the desk 2(!!) more times to report/ complain about it. Again they said they sent someone to see about it. Now one of my friend is asthmatic and was recovering from bronchitis (still on meds)... so this wasn't something being unecessarily brought to their attention. The smell only got stronger from the bathroom. So I finally went downstairs to the front desk to complain. I am not normally "this" type of customer but by this point enough was enough. The woman said they had 'spoken' with that person and were told it would stop. I informed her of my friends illness/diagnosis and that it was illegal in the first place for smoking in the building. She offered us another room... we were checking out that day so that did us no good. She then asked "what can I do for you"... I wasn't looking for a discount, that's not my style. I felt like she just wanted to brush this under the rug. I realized nothing else was going to come of this and it wasn't my problem anymore since we were checking out. So I requested help with my (rediculous) parking fee. To her credit, she 'took care' of that. My concern is for the people who will use that(or other rooms) that CLAIM to be NON smoking and yet are in fact NOT. I highly doubt they will rid the entire room of any trace of cigarette smoke after that occupant has left. I will be all the more skeptical of those 'no smoking' signs from now on. Be careful people, you may NOT be getting what you think you are! And for the price, they SHOULD be held to what they claim and their very OWN STANDARDS. I will not return to this hotel, and don't see myself recommending it to anyone. It's location is the only good thing about it in my opinion. I have had better treatment at much lower rated hotels. I'm very disappointed in the Colannade Hotel.

Unfortunately Brasserie Jo is gone. The Colonnade no longer has a restaurant. Very unfortunate. The food was wonderful. If you looking for somewhere close go out the front door and make a right. On the very next block you'll see a restaurant called Luca. The place is excellent! They have a late night Bar menu. They serve food till 1. The bar is open till 2. Places mostly local people and employees. Doesn't mean it's not fun! Give it a try!

Fantastic experience. Norman, the doorman was one of the highlights of my stay. Very kind and informative, and professional to the highest degree.
Beds were comfortable, the showers had very strong water pressure. No complaints

Don;t count on pool time with family....this is a semi-public pool with so, so many outsiders using all the cabanas and 'reserving' chairs.....quite a treat for local Boston residents....but not something for guests...too many trips to pool with children only to return to room as there was nowhere even for an adult to sit and watch their kids

Great hotel: I stay there 2-3 times per year. Never had a bad experience. Norman, who works in the lobby, is the absolute best. Norman makes what I need to happen happen. Super polite and professional too. Norman is like some great hotel staffer from the old days -- I mean he adds a little glamour to the experience for me.

If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. Worst customer service ever. False advertising for booking rates and nobody would help me. I called over 10 times. One girl who was a manager even asked me if I was "for real". I will not be staying here because of this incident.

Such an amazing experience. From your entrance, to the front dest experience, to the helpful staff throughout the hotel. Even a food runner once asked if he could help me with my luggage. Thoughtful staff, impeccable service.

We hosted a large reception at the hotel for my daughter. We worked with Gabi, the event planner. She was wonderful from start to finish. Not only was Gabi accommodating, she was incredibly organized and wanted to take on every task to minimize any stress. Gabi transformed the room and ran the event so smoothly that I can only say wonderful things about her and the hotel. I highly recommend this as a venue for an event.

The hotel staff was friendly and efficient. The food at the restaurant was very good. The room was very quiet at night, the water pressure in the shower was phenomenal . The bathroom could have been a little cleaner--someone's shampoo was left in the shower when we arrived.

Location is great. Decor in room very updated. Remodeling closed restaurant & bar. Had to go to 5th floor to use restroom before check-in completed. Price of parking in garage was $71 one day & $48 the next, we had gotten there about 1pm the first day. The 2nd room we needed, to be as close as possible to our room, was not ready until after 4 pm.
