highly recommend -reasonably priced, very clean & friendly... parking very accessible. Quick ability to connect to the Mass Pike. Convenient to downtown, shops and restaurants - though, the restaurant in the hotel is fantastic, why go elsewhere???

This hotel is not fancy or large rooms but it is spotless. The staff is super accommodating and very courteous and polite. I left my hanging clothes in the closet and called the hotel after I left the head of housekeeping sent all my clothes back to me quickly!! Was very happy with the staff.

I had a wonderful weekend experience. Here is a hotel with, despite its size and central-city location, an intimate, quiet "feel" to it, excellently designed rooms, and a friendly, accommodating staff. I would very much look forward to staying there again.

Loved my 8 night stay here over Thanksgiving 2013.
Location is absolutely perfect for Newbury St and Prudential but better than that there is a T station right outside the front door so Boston is yours.
Service was brilliant. My wife was just getting over a hard session of chemo but the staff were wonderful especially Danny on the concierge desk.
Restaurant was constantly busy but only ate here twice, once on Thanksgiving night were I had a interesting French variation on Thanksgiving dinner while my wife had traditional, both were good. Ate one further evening which was nice but unremarkable but they were ,tellingly, constantly packed out with Bostonians.
Rooms were a decent size and well appointed with good daily room service, boy do those girls work hard so never forget to leave them a decent tip.
Boston is a wonderful city full of friendly helpful people who love to talk to strangers. It has all that is required of a city break, Great shopping, Good food, Walk-able streets and Great friendly people. The Colonnade offers the perfect base to discover all this.

Normally Marriott customers, we stayed at the Colonade for the first time (which is virtually next door). The Colonade will be our go to hotel from now on. A small boutique establishment with excellent customer service. Our room was a good size, robes provided and bedding of high quality. The price a third of what we normally pay at the Marriott, alhtough self parking in the hotel parking garage was more expensive. The Brasserie Jo is an authentic French restaurant. Our meals were deliciously prepared - wonderful atmosphere.

I have stayed here before - consistently good. Great food in Brasserie Jo. Summer roof top pool makes it by the far the best choice for that time of year. Well located any time of year. My only complaint is that there was a very loud party on our floor during this last visit, and the hotel staff was nowhere to be found or reached by phone. That is the only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. Despite that, I would still return, although I will inquire if there is a group staying there for an event and then request a room far away from them!

We stayed there while in Boston for Pax East. The room was clean and comfortable. The only negative was the affiliated restaurant in the lobby charged my credit card $200 over my bill. They corrected the mistake but I would hope a fancy place like that wouldn't make mistakes like that to begin with. Luckily it didn't overdraw my card but u could see how it could have happened.

Good location but lukewarm customer service. I had someone walk/card swipe into my room because of a "computer glitch". All they said was "yeah sorry about that" and that was it. I won't be staying here in the future.

Positives: Comfortable rooms. Good restaurant. Door and bell staff were awesome. Checkin process was excellent and had room early. Room was clean.

Negatives: Very noisy air conditioner. Ignored for awhile on second visit to restaurant, while others arriving later were greeted and served first. Pool appeared to have a "bathtub" ring around it, and it appeared lots of non guests were allowed in for a fee, making it very crowded with no seating available, pushing drink orders. Not a good place to take your kids for a swim.

Went into this hotel and could not believe how filthy it was. The rooms were dark, and the entire hotel had a sad way about it. Some guy in a suit was picking up trash around the hotel. Not very organized. The desk manager was nervous and acting very strange. He kept running back and forth from his back office to the front desk, waiving his hands in his face and wouldn't stop talking on the phone. Finally we asked him about our room and he said "hold on" and took another phone call and then got on a hand radio to ask housekeeping to send towels to a room somewhere. And when he hung up the phone he then excused himself and said he would be right back, and he went back into some office and left us waiting. We were a large group and he was obviously overwhelmed, therefore; we had no other choice, so we left and went next door to the Westin Hotel.

This hotel is very nice. We stayed here while in Boston for a Red Sox game and the location is about a 20 minute walk from Fenway.
The rooftop pool is nice but unfortunately it was reserved for a private party for most of the night we stayed.
The orange drink in the lobby was amazing, it tasted like an Orange Creamsicle.

Wife and I stayed here on Valentines Day. The hotel staff is friendly, helpful and courteous. Th room was up date with a great view of the city. We ate at Brassiere Jo. Waitstaff was excellent. The food suburb! Recommend the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great value for the money.

Good location, nice like one would expect from this class of hotel. Decent restaurant next to lobby others close by. Exceptionally comfortable bed and high quality linens. A wonderful surprise was the six cups of pod coffee and a couple for tea.

The Colonnade is our favorite boutique-style hotel in Boston. The staff is always friendly, helpful and welcoming -- making it always a pleasure to return. Recently renovated and upgraded rooms make it even more special. The location of the Colonnade (near Symphony Hall, Prudential Center, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, etc.) make it perfect for our needs. The hotel does not overwhelm guests with fancy facilities and amenities -- it is clean and simple with everything that one really needs! One improvement will be the reopening of a fine restaurant to replace our favorite Brasserie Jo.

I would give this place a five, except for two issues:. noisy mornings of some type of construction near our room, and non functioning air conditioning. The noise was bearable and I never called the front desk about it. AC issue was not reported to front desk either, as we had a window and opened it to cool off the room.
Front desk staff were great. Doorman was always welcoming and helpful.
Room was always cleaned well and was good size with up to date deco.
Try something different and try this place instead of all of the name brand hotel chains.

Beautful hotel in a busy, bubbly area. The rooms were clean and modern (44" TV with HDMI cable to hook in your laptop) and the bed and pillows extra comfortable. I didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looked interesting.

Nice hotel, great location. Very thin walls without adequate insulation. We heard in great detail the activities of the room across the hall, the restaurant was ridiculously expensive : $5.95 for a cup of coffee at breakfast.

We only hit the roof top for an event and the hotel was under construction, so it is hard to tell the true quality of the hotel. It looks like a decent place, so I am sure the renovation will raise it up.

I was in town for a conference and opted initially for The Colonnade because it was cheaper than the sponsored hotels. I am very glad I did that as the experience was much better than I would have gotten otherwise. The hotel was incredibly clean, friendly and helpful staff, and a lot of great little touches (chocolates in your room at check-in, apples in the fitness center, etc.).

It was also incredibly convenient being across the street from the Pru Center and with the Green Line T having a stop just at the front door of the hotel.

I will be making this my new go-to hotel for my trips to Boston in the future.

The l9cation of the hotel is just on the train's green line. It means a good transportation in the city and to the airport.
The room is large, the bad is great with comfy pillows.
We had a good view to the Prudential.
It is located near restaurants and very close to the freedom trail.
Highly recomended.

You will get in this hotel the best benefits for the money you are investing. Nice room, bath room and the best location (1 min walking from prudencial station T, 2 walkingmin Prudencial Mall, 15 min walking to Copley Square, Boylston, Newbury and finally 25 min walk to park street).

Let me start by saying, I rated the hotel for low because I was beyond disappointed in your service staff. The room itself was clean, they brought up an additional cot right away and that is about where my positive experience ended. When my group (we had two hotel rooms, 8 people) first pulled up to the front entrance in our car, no one was there to greet us, no one indicated where to park or what to do with our car. We were early upon arrival, around noon, and went to the front desk to see if the room maybe was ready. This was Friday Aug 18th again at noon, and the girl behind the desk didn't greet us with a smile and when I asked if our rooms were ready before I could even finish giving her my name, she looked down at the screen and said No, very abruptly. Ok, that is fine, but she didn't offer any more conversation that was it, "No." then looked away. I asked her ok well is their valet or where can we park our car. Again a short answer, no pleasantries "Its self park, $48 a day". Ok... i had to prompt her to tell me where the self park even was. Then I asked her "Well my friend is up at the pool do we need a pass to go and wait, and what can we do with our bags". Her response, short again, "The pool is on the 11th floor, you can put your bags with the bell hop" Then she turned away again and got on her cell phone. For being the first person I interacted with, I was ready to walk out right then and there, but I pre-paid my rooms, and had guests from out of town and was looking forward to a nice bachelorette weekend. We walked away then waiting for the bell hop, no one approached us or even acknowledged us for quite some time then finally we catch a man's attention and ask if we could check out bags with him. His first response, again very short was "Are you even hotel guests?". Well of course...how rude! I'm paying $485/night and this is how I'm treated by not only one but TWO of your front of house staff? I've worked in the foodservice industry for 12 years, and stayed in many hotels and have never been so disgusted with how I was treated, especially at the rate you charge. I'm not saying you are over-priced, I am ok paying a decent price for a room downtown, WITH EXCELLENT service. I am not ok with paying this much to be treated like I am a bother. There are a few other things that I would like to discuss with the hotel manager that also did not leave me pleased. I plan on not only not recommending this hotel, but plan to go out of my way to discourage guests to ever stay with you. I hope that my feedback will help you better train your staff on how to work in an excellent hotel. I look forward to receiving a call.

What terrible people to deal with. Do not stay here unless you are looking to be treated with disrespect. Our room was noisy and each night we got woken up by everyone in the hallway walking by our room. There are better places to stay in Boston. Good luck parking in their garage, especially if something happens to your car. Our car got hit and it was caught on camera. When I asked for help in getting the video for my insurance company they told me too bad and they would not help me. I have never felt such lack of compassion. We we will never stay there again and will be sure to tell as many people we can about our horrible experience.

There was construction going on during our stay but the noise didn''t bother us too much since it was a few doors down. The room was big and clean, and the bed was super comfortable. I'd stay here again on my next visit.

My original room being right beside another room that had construction and renovations going on, which was significant as I was conducting a lot of business meetings/calls in my room in the AM.

However, the staff was quick to find me another room at no additional cost, and with exemplary service provided by the Director of Front Office - Chris. Although I was quite distraught initially due to the noise, the level of service and attention to detail of the staff provided me with an overall positive experience.

Overall an excellent hotel, in terms of comfort, location, price and quality of front end staff. HOWEVER, the newly renovated hotel has one major problem- the HVAC system in each room is EXCESSIVELY loud, even in low settings. It sounded like a jet engine spooling up ever time it came on. If that problem gets resolved, it would get a 5 star rating.

The room, although not large, was comfortable and clean. The front desk staff and bellmen were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel is directly across the street from the Prudential Center and an easy walk to Northeastern, the MFA and the BSO. Overall, a very good value as well.
