Beautiful historical hotel, comfortable beds and rooms. Staff were very friendly and informative. Unfortunately, our room was barely cleaned when we arrived there was hair in the sink,.crumbs on the floor and an unknown stain on the low wall. Received invoice under the door in the morning and they had added $50 for parking, but we had not brought our car. Called the front desk and they fixed it fairly easily. We happened to have friends staying in another part of the hotel and what made me a little angry is they did the exact same thing to them making me believe this is a standard practice even when people don't use their valet/parking, maybe hoping people don't catch it. So while the historical aspect of this place is awesome it does seem like it's struggling a little with all the new hotel competition downtown, so just be sure to watch your bill and make sure all the itemized charges are accurate and I wouldn't expect a very clean room.

Regrettably I have not been back in almost 5 years. However, now that I've started reviewing places, I felt the need to come on and voice my opinion of the Brown Palace in Denver, CO. We used to live in Denver and I came to the spa 4 times over the course of the 2 years we lived there.

The ambience of the spa is extremely relaxing and the staff is very friendly. The free mimosa at the start of the service was amazing. The massage was relaxing and thorough. My husband sent me once when I was pregnant and the staff was very knowledgeable about what I could and could not have done. They didnt try to sell me anything I didnt want. I enjoyed my time at this spa so much I now compare every other spa I've attended to The Brown Palace standard.

I highly recommend the spa. I apologize, I never stayed at the hotel. Although that might change in the next year as we are planning a vacation in Colorado.

This is the he only first class eatery and cigar bar in Denver.... You may order from 2 menus in Churchills (The Ships Tavern & Palace Arms) If you want to be treated like "ROYALITY" THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU.....
Wonderful food, The Lamb is to die for, The steaks are unsurpassable....
An extensive Scotch selection (Including 25 Year McCallan).... Bring your own favorite cigars.... Or Try a fine cigar from the Menu (A tad pricy but "YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE").
I am a founding member of Churchills and because of my current living proximity I am unable to frequent this outstanding establishment as often as I would prefer!
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
6 or 7 STARS would be a more appropriate rating!

The Brown Palace always offers beauty, excellence, and atmosphere. Amanda at the front desk was kind and helpful. She made my mother's birthday extraordinary. The room was beautiful, and breakfast delicious. A birthday treat was sent to the room which added to the enjoyment of our stay. Thanks to Amanda and the Brown Palace for a memorable experience.

Check in is at 3, we arrived at 3:45 and were told our room wasn t ready and they had no idea when it would be. We were given $50 to use at the bar, we went to get a few drinks while we waited and couldn t get a margarita cause they didn t have a blender (made no sense). 4:15 comes around and our room isn t ready. We didn t get to our room until 5:00. Front desk staff didn t seem to have answers or care. We were married the day before and were looking forward to having 1 night away to unwind, this was our first and last time at the Brown Palace. I d only recommend their brunch. Management hasn t bothered to call me back after playing phone tag.

Incredibly disappointing. Hotel is gorgeous, everything else was epically disappointing. If it's not the 3 hours of a live jazz band they have playing Friday and Saturday nights (that we could hear over the TV, behind a closed door, on the 6th floor) then it was the piano that was playing the rest of the time. Finally at 2am I called to the front desk to find out when the piano would stop, found out the pianist had already gone home and it was just their lobby music that was now playing that loud, which plays until the pianist gets back in the morning. So much for a quiet weekend away for our anniversary. Tried to get room service on Sat night about 9:45. Called 6 times over the next half hour never got an answer. Finally called the front desk at 1015 because room service ends at 1030. Was told that last call for room service had already been completed. Went to check out Monday morning about 930. Called down to Valet to have them pull up the car and had bell service help us down. After about 15 minutes of no cars coming in or out of valet ( we were also the only people waiting) bell hop tells me, "I don't think valet got the message." He then went looking for them. He found the valet who then got our car took a total of about 25 minutes for them to get our car. Glad to hear that the $52/night paid to valet goes to spectacular customer service and training in speedy service. Wassetfor an incredible weekend at a landmark of beauty in Denver and was met with the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Will not ever be back.

Amazing historic hotel. Very cool to just explore. Well wet up as a Marriott Bonvoy Collection. Only things. I did not like, no breakfast included, and the pillows were not super comfy. Otherwise great!

$87 got us tea for 2, 4 small vegan cookies, 5 horrible pineapple stuffed strawberries dipped in vinegar, 4 chocolate covered strawberries, 2 strips of celery with hummus, chunk of melon, and some frozen blueberries. Pretty good service, though I wish they had been upfront about not having real vegan options or a good serving size so we wouldn t have ruined our anniversary outing here.

The Sunday Brunch is one of, if not the best in Denver. Every type of hot and cold food imaginable and then there is the dessert table. Also enjoy the brilliant architecture of the Brown. Beautiful building.

My husband and I stayed at the Brown Palace for a Valentine's Day getaway. We had a couple's massage at the spa and our massage therapists were very mediocre. My husband's therapist wreaked of cigarette smoke and was breathing heavily the entire time. I was cold in the room and asked them to turn on the heated bed [which was offered at the beginning of the massage] and they fiddled with the bed for several minutes before telling me it wasn't working and that they could bring in a space heater. Seriously?? The women's "locker room" has no place to change in privacy other than the bathroom stalls and was dirty. Back in our hotel room, I called to have a toothbrush sent up and had to wait over a half hour for it to be brought up. When we ordered desert from room service later that evening, the woman delivering the food insisted she come all the way into our room. It was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was tiny and had two sinks, but was not comfortable for two people to occupy at the same time. When we turned on the rain shower head, a horrible, loud, high pitched screeching sound occurred and we couldn't use the shower head. That night, I noticed we were out of coffee for our Keurig, which hadn't been restocked. We called down to have some brought up. The next morning we found that the coffee maker didn't work at all, which is probably why they hadn't restocked it. Overall, our experience at the Brown Palace left a lot to be desired. For a hotel of this kind, and for the expense, we were extremely unsatisfied. We will never stay here again.

Sat in the smoking lounge and got great French onion soup, good service, and tasty drinks. It wasn't cheap but I guess that's not why we were there. (We were there because I'm friends with the kind of degenerates who want to smoke indoors at the bar.) Actually was pleasantly surprised as my previous experience at the Brown Palace wasn't bad, but it was underwhelming...

Really spectacular hotel. The service is great and it's really something to look at. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are comfortable. The only challenge I had is that the noise from the lobby Carrie's right into your room. And music starts playing around 5am. Otherwise, it's a beautiful hotel.

While this hotel has a great deal of history you should look around for better deals. The room I stayed in was very small - the bathroom truly felt like it was once a closet. There are better, nicer places downtown.

I love this hotel. It is the oldest hotel in Denver I believe, and it has a lot of charm. Food is very good in the main restaurant, and the rooms are beautiful. I always have family and friends stay here if they are going to be in the Downtown Denver area. Great location, great spa, very classy place.

While definitely deserving of the Autograph Collection label, the hotel's interior feels outdated. History and architecture geeks will enjoy staying here. Others looking for a modern feel will be left out.

Gorgeous hotel we stopped in to visit with friends staying in Denver. The cigar bar staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the hotel's history. I highly recommend anyone planning to visit downtown Denver give it a tour.

The Brown Palace was wonderful. We will definitely go back. We stayed there years ago and I had forgotten how much we enjoyed it. All of the staff is so helpful and so friendly and we enjoyed the food as well as the room. And it was nice that there was a cigar bar where you should go in and have drinks and smoke a cigar cigarette we loved it

Utterly incompetent and disorganized. We made reservations three weeks in advance for the cigar lounge and they lost the reservation. We had a confirmation voicemail and they still gave us a bad attitude for their own ineptitude. I would expect much better from a place that pretends to be upscale and classy. Chris Messler in particular was an atrocious manager and blamed us for his negligence after we pointed out the "direct line" number he gave us to resolve issues in the future was the same "direct line" he left in the reservation confirmation voicemail.

I can only speak to the Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace. I took my grandma here for her birthday one year and we absolutely loved it! I made reservations several months in advance because her birthday falls around Mother's day so I wanted to make sure we got the time we wanted. They were very busy, so I would definitely recommend a reservation here, especially around any kind of holiday. The service was top-notch the tea and snacks were delicious. The hotel itself is really cool as the building is historic. I would love to come back and try the Spa or do another Afternoon Tea. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I would absolutely recommend this place.
