Steigenberger Hotel Berlin Review

Basically everything is ok, very friendly and competent reception, the rooms are clean and the bar is good. Only in this house the eggs benedict with a hollandaise from the pack are served, for a fair price, spoils the impression!

RECOMAND

Disillusionment at check-in, the queue almost reached the exit. Only the most necessary information was given at check-in. We were not offered luggage assistance.
We also wanted to print our boarding passes for the return trip, but unfortunately the cartridges on both printers were empty. These were still not exchanged 2 days later despite notifying the reception. However, the front desk printed them out.

There is no information folder in the room, just a QR code that can be scanned. There was also no small present or personal greeting, as we have seen in other hotel classifications. Despite the telephone, there was no question whether the room was okay. Even when I wanted to reach the reception and no one answered, there was no call back to the room. A real shame.

The rooms were okay, but are on a good 3 star level. The granite in the bathroom in the shower was dull with limescale deposits, a wrong cleaner was used around the toilet, which left streaks on the natural stone. Despite the thermostat in the shower, there was no constant warm water, but if you like alternating showers you will get your money's worth here.
The minibar was empty and was only refilled upon customer request. Impossible! But good to save costs ... The instant coffee (!) In the room tastes disgusting, but the cocoa was okay.

The window was not really tight, the beds were very hard, we were in pain in the morning. The TV quality is poor, the advertised high-speed internet is a joke and works poorly. However, the rooms are well insulated and it was very quiet (6th floor). The carpet is very comfortable.

The biggest disappointment was the spa area. Changing rooms at primary school level, to shower you have to hold the button down with your hand. The water in the "mini pool" is maybe 30 degrees, too small to swim, too cold to relax. There were two showers in the sauna area that had large black spots, just like the floor of the pool. DISGUSTING! Just like the dirty spots on the dome light above the pool. We were only in this area once for 30 minutes and then never again! A shame for such a hotel!

We didn't use the fitness area, but it looked nice. But there is not more than a handful of devices and a fairly large yoga area.

Excellent, however, the breakfast, extremely good coffee, delicious omelets, wide selection, fresh juices and and and. Here you have to give a clear praise! We were looking forward to it every day.
At the same time, there is not enough staff for this, which should definitely pay more attention to the guests, instead of just looking at the tables that need to be cleared. I often went straight to the staff, otherwise I would not have been noticed.
One day, many guests were queued before breakfast in the morning because the buffet was full and the hotel could not handle the crowds. We have never experienced THAT in any other hotel. Sad but true.
The staff also did not know about their own food selection. Despite asking, I was given the wrong answer. Good thing I have no food allergy, something could go wrong ...

The staff were all very nice and helpful and the hotel owes it only to those we give 2 stars for the stay!
Unfortunately, they were completely busy with work and you get that as a guest.



Nevertheless, the bottom line is that we have already been to other hotels that have already performed better with 3 stars apart from breakfast.

For us, this hotel is more of a "Abstiegberger". It was our first time in a Steigenberger. And this is the last time.

Super nice hotel. The location is perfect for exploring the area around Bahnhof Zoo on foot. I'm looking forward to the next time!

Wonderful hotel. Very large selection at the breakfast buffet. Something for everyone! Everything fresh and tasty. Rooms were wonderful and clean. The spa is nice and you feel good! Price performance absolutely okay. Right at the Ku'damm .. so perfect .. we'll be back!

Clean. Quiet room had. Friendly staff. Top breakfast. On small things you can see the service: In addition to the usual things were still disposable shoe horns and cases with nail file, shoe shine, sewing kit and make-up removal + cotton swabs available. Through my job with a lot of traveling I appreciate that.

The Steigenberger Hotel in Berlin is a clear recommendation. The spa area is not very big, but it's tidy, quiet and well maintained. The rooms are large and nice as you would expect from a hotel in this price range. The restaurant is rather high priced, but very good and I can give a clear recommendation. Should you treat yourself. The only drawback: the underground car park is a bit of getting used to, but the on and off parking is happy to take over the staff without extra charge as a service :-)

Location is good, rooms are big and clean, breakfast is very (!) Good. The wellness area is ok. However, not the first choice, if you put a lot of emphasis on wellness, as there is only a small pool and a sauna. The breakfast, which you can order through the room service is only continental. Yes, fruit salad and egg dishes are included. But still a small selection and for the price (35 ) a joke. In the bathtub it is a bit tight for showers. In addition, a partial seal was missing on the glass wall. Therefore, after the bath is under water. In addition, a rain shower function is missing. The rooms themselves are well maintained. Mattresses are very comfortable, comforters depending on the room a bit too thin.

All in all a very pleasant stay. But the TV picture and the wifi are a disaster. What brings me a big TV, if the picture has a resolution of probably about 144p. You could just as well put down a potato.

Central and in front of a quiet square. Close to several options of shops, magazines, bars and restaurants. Close to the zoo, buses, trains and meters a few steps from the hotel.

Comfortable rooms, cabinet with drawers and wooden hangers. Coffee maker with selection of tea and coffee, desk with plugs, USB port missing. Bathroom with amenities kit and ceramic floor.

Breakfast with a lot of diversity. Good spaces for medtings and conventions.

The hotel also offers a public transport pass for the duration of your stay.

- Location: probably the best thing about this hotel is the location. It is surrounded by many restaurants and shopping stores that you do not have to walk more than 3-10 minutes to get anywhere. It is also very close to a metro station for getting around the city. - Considering its great location, it is very reasonably priced. - Rooms: very nice decoration with clean bathrooms. - Staff: friendly - I did not get a chance to try their restaurant or bar.

Nice hotel! Spacious and beautiful rooms! Nice and close to the shopping street 5 min walk. Also close to the station 10 min walk. The pool is also great with a sauna! Top hotel! The wifi is just not quite top :(

I have stayed here several times, the rooms are always clean and the selection at the breakfast buffet is great, as is the spa area. Only the "gym" is quite a disappointment.
Basically there are only cardio-training devices as well as some dumbbells and a few weights, which you have to look out of the closet first. A barbell rack and a few benches would be a huge step forward. But there would also be enough space for a few real devices here.

Very friendly reception, staff professional and also very friendly. The facility is a bit old.

Nice staff, decent rooms, very good location. The windows don't block out a lot of noise and the hotel is very noisy and loud. The bathroom is modern, clean and well maintained.
The breakfast is really good and extensive. Here, too, the staff is remarkably friendly and good.
Unfortunately, the spa area only makes a good impression on the photos. The sauna seems to be used continuously without towels and the associated showers are narrow and not really inviting.

The hotel does not meet the expectations and requirements of a 5-star hotel. Housekeeping is very unfounded and the service unhelpful. The location alone is very attractive.

Nice room on the park side relatively spacious, clean and comfortable with bathrobes, slippers, coffee machine, kettle, fridge
The bathroom a little small ... pity but that may be due to the bathtub?
Do not forget to take his swimsuit to enjoy the pool and / or jacuzzi.
We did not try their restaurant.

I was very annoyed about it!

The room was excellent, however, the decor felt a bit "dated" (zebrano wood). Despite the location in the middle of the shopping district, it is calm and quiet and no traffic - very nice. Good breakfast and a very good female bartender who could really mix drinks.
However: the fact that this hotel is 5-star is too high a rating, rather 4-star. Unfortunately, some things were also directly bad, such as the cleaning: poorly vacuumed - if at all - when you find chips on the floor after the morning cleaning round. The air conditioning did not work as it should. When we also pointed this out, the night porter in question was outraged and said that it certainly did - "It certainly delivered the 20 degrees it would deliver." It was just that the thermostat was at 15 degrees and it was blowing hot air. Bad and unprofessional behavior - the customer is always right. So the problem could not be fixed and he also said that all other rooms had the same, so it would not help if we changed rooms. Wonder how it is in the middle of high summer when it may be over 30 degrees hot outside. Now it was only about 25 and completely unbearable. Bad, bad and no good advertising for the hotel.
It should also be mandatory that everyone who works at larger and finer hotels could speak English, if not fluent then at least more or less unhindered, so it was not.
Unfortunately this hotel can not get a higher rating than 2 - too much is bad. And as a customer of this hotel, I was expecting more, much more.

Great hotel with location, due to Coronna price / performance +++++. Nice reception in the room everything was available or you were pointed out to everything. The travel card for Berlin is great, +++++
I didn't use breakfast (it was a few too high)

Everything OK. Except for the TV in the room. Very small and poor picture quality. Absolutely under the standard nowadays. Even the Internet is in the evening in the knee because it is used by many.

Very bad service. Missing towels and bathrobes in the room. Hair on the bed and rooms without WiFi reception. Absolutely not a 5 * standard! Not recommendable!

Class location near the Ku'Damm. Great breakfast. The staff very friendly and the rooms are great. Any time.
