Extremely disappointed. I called to arrange a birthday brunch for my best friend and due to having a large group of 13 guests I needed to arrange the reservation by phone. I left two voicemails and 2 days later received a voicemail from the staff saying they would be able to accommodate my party at a specific time and they would hold my spot. I called the next morning, again sent to voicemail, and thanked them and asked them to please save the spot and return my call to confirm. I then received a call from a different staff member saying they actually had been booked for months and NEVER had a spot for my group. No apology. I asked why someone would have said that there was one then? No answers or excuses. For such a high class place I expected better service and organization. I'm so bummed I had gotten the hopes up of my whole group only to be let down very rudely.

My wife and I have come here more than a few times to stay and love staying, love the hotel etc. Last year we decided to go to the Thanksgiving Brunch. We enjoyed it, sat in the main room, music, got the Moet Chandon, stayed for a couple of hours and enjoyed. This year we went again and received a different result. We were sat in the hall upstairs which was not bad. We were greeted and opted for the Moet. We got our food and came back, some of the hot food was cold so it wasn't kept warm enough in the food hall. We went in for food again and the prime rib was well done. We had a glass of the Moet but after the first glass it was hard to flag wait staff down to have another and to get oj with it. I also noticed that one at least 1 refill, it was not Moet, it was another brand. We paid the extra for Moet, $90 each person. That was interesting. We were about 50min into our stay, enjoying the love music when we were told we have 20minutes left to finish and leave. What!?! Nobody told us about a time limit. This didn't happen to us last year. I am turned away by this and will not visit again next year. To pay $90/pp, get cold food, over cooked prime rib, 2-3 glasses of champagne and be told we need to leave for other guests is absolutely ridiculous given we were never told. Last year we have zero issues and no time limit. For a 5 star hotel and restaurant, I would expect more and at least be upfront about these terms going in. The food should be watched more to keep warm and champagne should be flowing. Service was sub lar to last year as well. Maybe it was the hall versus restaurant room seating...who knows. We most likely may never return because of this disappointing Thanksgiving Brunch this year.

Went with my friends for a spa day and it was absolutely amazing. Then we went to the cigar bar and it pretty much ruined our entire day. The manager Chris Messler treated our group of 6 terribly and was overtly offensive because we were not members and he didn't remember our reservation that was set weeks before the occasion.

Other than the premium prices, this is about as good as it gets. Fantastic service from the second you pull up to the curb. Friendly, helpful staff and great food. Thanks for a great New Year's Eve with friends!

Attended the tea service. Extremely overpriced, and both the tea and the provided sides and desserts were mediocre. Our waitresses service was average. Be aware, you're paying for the "experience" and for the atmosphere, not for quality teas.

It's extremely beautiful but I was dressed in a t-shirt with jeans and I received concerned looks from the staff. They asked if I needed help while I was admiring the hotel. I felt uncomfortable.

It's a beautiful Nostalgic hotel built in 1892. I'm here and the Christmas Decor has been put out and its beautiful! My room is clean and beautiful.. I asked for a room with a bathtub and it has a beautiful marble bathroom with large bathtub. I highly recommend when staying in Denver..very close to good shopping too.

Amazing stay. Felt very pampered no matter who we encountered. Enjoyed the Churchill Bar and Ellyngtons for breakfast. The smells that permeate the entire hotel transport me to another time period! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

A throwback hotel that reminds you of the class of last century. The food and staff is above average and the upgraded to the rooms have helped. Fitness center is across the street and location is helpful if you want a small but unique hotel downtown.

Beautiful old gem of Denver, fun to visit but bring lots of money! We had cocktails and appetizers in one of the bars and everything was quite good. Try the macaroons for dessert - they are fantastic!

This is a historic property with lots of personality. My room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet. I was on the backside of the hotel. There wasn't much of a view but I had little outside noise. The mattress and bedding were very comfortable. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.

An awesome historic hotel I went to gape at. Likely couldn't afford to stay there, but would love to. Had a lovely visit and history lesson with one of the employees, Sharon, a concierge. Found the Ship Tavern and decided to eat there. Excellent! I would definitely go again to gawk and eat.

Love love love their Afternoon Tea, served in an historic 8-story atrium with stained glass ceiling. Wonderful selection of teas (or coffee), delicious pastries, and light sandwiches, all served with elegance. Go during the Holidays, if possible, as the Christmas decorations are stunning. (Thankfully, they use the proper name - High Tea is a substitute for both Afternoon Tea and supper, and is a much heavier meal).

Great hotel, great history. Fancy, classy and ideal location within the city. The high tea is the best in Denver. Great grand piano playing and nice classical music between the pianist. Definitely worth an overnight stay at this hotel.

I stayed at the Brown Palace on a recent business trip. Typically my business hotels are purely utilitarian which is hardly how I would describe this place. Rather, I would use words like elegant, posh, & luxurious. I stayed in the most basic room - a plush double bed, dual head with rainfall shower, a fresh pitcher of ice water and turn down service every night. I didn't indulge in their big breakfast, but I did enjoy a few after-hours libations. The tavern is simple, and has a well versed selection of tap beers. I also liked the cigar bar. I didn't smoke, but my colleague did. I enjoyed a few scotches and glasses of port though (over two visits). My colleague and I also ate our last evening in the main lobby area - oysters (raw & Rockefeller), shrimp, & calamari. Everything was outstanding! To top it off, the service is what hotel service should be. Helpful & friendly.

Really nice place. The lobby is very beautiful. The Jazz band the ladies with large hat for the tea time. It's impressed.

they charged me for the internet. they were supposed to pay me back but they never did.

the rooms are a little dated, but clean and spacious. The staff is pleasant and helpful.

The food is too expensive at the small cafe of the hotel.

Wanted to write a review, because I found an old email when I stayed here recently and I think is worth to mention. I stayed here on 2018, I don't think that this place should have a smoking room if you don't allow people to smoke weed. It is legal in the state so technically I should had been able to do it. I was asked nicely to turned off and I agreed, but the place is not cheap. Tobacco is as much or maybe more damaging than weed for 2nd smokers. So there you go, obviously not coming back to the place, it is just not fair and not worth it.

The employees are very courteous and helpful. The hotel doesn't have a pool or workout room. They do have a Spa and room service you can order nearly all hours of the day. The streets getting here are a little tricky. There are lots of coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. You can take a tour of the hotel, have afternoon tea or relax in your room. There is a mini fridge and coffee machine in the room.

I experienced the Brown Palace when I was in 6th grade, we had a club after school that taught us young women how to act like ladies. We went to the Brown Palace dressed in our best and had tea and finger sandwiches in a sitting room. Very classy. Always a good memory from my childhood.

My family and I always go to Christmas Tea at the Brown Palace every December. We have been doing it for 10+ years now and will continue to do it for many more. The service is exceptional and the the decorations are wonderful.

Great food for those of us who visit Denver for business. French Onion soup awesome!

When staying at the Holiday Inn, you may also use the Brown Palace's car to go 3 miles free of charge, except a tip.

A hotel with history. As a guest you have the opportunity to take the hour long tour of the hotel for free. If you are not a guest it's $15. I booked the tour by calling the hotel concierge. I was staying at this hotel to attend a conference nearby. I ordered room service for breakfast each morning. Never have I had such quick room service. Each time I ordered the food arrived within 20 minutes of me placing the order. The hot plates that my food arrived on kept my meal warm while I ate it. I was impressed with the room service/table retrieval staff. I accidentally left my measuring spoon that I use to take my medicine on the table when I put it outside of my room to be retrieved. Later that evening when I discovered that it was taken away I called room service, who then called the table retrieval staff. About 15 minutes later my measuring spoon was in my hands. This may sound trivial but it was important to me that I use that spoon to take the proper amount of my medicine. I appreciated that Jackie (I think that was her name) in room service treated my request as important and took the effort to track down my measuring spoon. Because of the customer service I received I am giving this hotel 5 stars rather than 4. I was also very appreciative of the complimentary room upgrade I received at check in. This hotel knows how to treat it's guests. I think "customer" service is lacking so much these days. The two things that I didn't like much was the carpet on the floor in the rooms and the bed was too soft for me. The minute I sat on it, it felt like it lost half it's size. I only weigh 122 pounds. Lastly, this hotel is also a 5 minute walk from the 16th Street Mall which is a open air mall with many stores and restaurants.

Oof, wish I had taken pics. We arrived late. The place had a weird funky vibe, the guy at the desk wasn t very friendly. Checked in, checked out 5 minutes ltr. The room was dirty, and it smelled like hard boiled eggs. Went to the Hyatt, way better.
