Wow what a hotel, a great location and highly recommended
Right on the beautiful Christmas market. A bit old, but all sights within walking distance. Hotel has the character of a mansion. Very nice reception. Feel very well here.
The passport was stolen and did not plan to board the plane, so I didn't make a reservation temporarily. It was already at 2 am, arrived at the hotel. I wanted to say that I would sit in it and then go to the house at 6 o'clock. This is more cost-effective. As a result, the uncle at the front desk was not allowed to live and die. If he hadn't finished talking, he would no no, and I would drive a girl to the street in the middle of the night. . . . . .
I do not recommend! THE PHOTOS NOTHING TO SEE WITH REALITY, the rooms are too small, the beds too, the hotel is too old is ugly, frankly a loss of money ... too disappointed!
Beautiful old world Hotel with lots of charm. Great location with beautiful views over the valley.
Some areas are dated but this for me adds to the charm.
The location of Grand Hotel Cravat is excellent with easy access to many other places of interest easily.
Nice hotel, large spacious rooms. We had a wonderful bed. Friendly staff. Location is excellent.
Missing basic amenities like AC, the AC units are in every room but have been broken for months. Locals say that the hotel turns off the air conditioning units when it is super hot to save electricity cost. Whether they are truly broken for months, or they just won t turn them on... unacceptable. Both nights rest was horrible
To the owner: the way you are going you will get your wish and not have customers in the future if this is how you speak to them. You seem to forget who the customer and who the supplier of services are. You do have AC units in every room and your night staff told me that they had been off for two months and that their management was too cheap to fix them or turn them on. When your staff is saying those things, how would you expect pleased customers. Also you are listed on BCD travel as having AC so this is something you should fix as to not mislead your customers and have your employees have to give consistent excuses for your short comings. I do hope people read this review as to not be fooled into staying at your hotel like I was.
Nice location, unfortunately you can not park and the parking is very expensive. There are free options further on, but you have to do something for that. When you enter the lifts, it feels like you are back in the time of the titanic and the waiters are also carrying inspections. Breakfast was good and friendly staff. Room is also dated but top view! We had asked for a baby bed and it was nicely ready. The only drawback was that we were at the front of the hotel and the hotel is very noisy, noises from outside as well as from the neighbors .
The hotel is a piece of antique art! Beautiful. Nice people and delicious breakfast! The only problem we had was for my husband because the room was not accesible for wheelchair. But besides that he had access to the rest of the areas.
A terrific, elegant, old-style hotel in an unbeatable location in the center of Luxembourg City. European elegance the traditional way. Large rooms, great breakfast, formal and correct staff, no blasting music in the lobby..I loved it!
Mythical place and a particularly pleasant and funny staff. This hotel is not a modern place and it feels good. He carries a story and tells it to you. Come to the bar!
Old-fashioned rooms. Friendly staff. Moderate breakfast.
A bit expensive for a room that was not made. Comfortable bedding. Breakfast extra 5th for room service.
This is a wonderful hotel. We arrived at the end of May and they had not switched to air conditioning from heating yet, so the air conditioning in the room did not work. It was hot but we opened the window and they brought us a fan. In the end it work out well. The staff was very nice and helpful. There are a number of restaurants nearby. The breakfast choices were very good. Nice bathtub in bathroom.
Wonderful hotel and a fantastic staff. Breakfast was always great. Will definitely try to stay there again. Wonderful view.
a bit dusty, and dark
but nice, good service and great location
smelly room. poor breakfast. mould in bathroom. it felt like a 4 star motel. but the bed was comfortable and the location is good.
Comfortable hotel perfectly located in the city center of Luxembourg.
Hospitality and impeccable service. Address to remember
A classy setting, retro at will, it feels good ... I was only at the hotel bar.
A little outdated but with a small charm. We managed to have a great so we do not regret!
For the price of the room, I expected it to be larger and to have a comfortable amount of space to move around. We did have a large bathroom space so it seems that s where the area was allocated to for our specific room. Overall the hotel was nice and had an excellent location. There is a very convenient parking garage on the street behind the main entrance that was easy to find. Back to the price of the stay, it was quite expensive for breakfast - 15 for tea/coffee with breads and jams or 25 for the full buffet. The buffet was good but the prices were steep, in my opinion. Although the breakfast dining room was very elegant and had nice service! I ll probably try another hotel if I m back in Luxembourg.
Nice location. Some rooms are very noisy. Reception is ok.
The worst nights sleep Iv had in ages, the walls a paper thin so you can hear everything above and next to you.
Our double bed is tiny, the mattress is super uncomfortable. In the room we did get a window that faces a wall that's 3meters away. The hotel doesn't have parking which is fine but all other hotels inform you before hand and give you locations where you can find parking (this was a rough thing to find out in bumper to bumper traffic).
The staff is really lovely but for the price I would looking elsewhere.
A little gem near the center of the city. To advice
Center close, clean and quiet, excellent breakfast, recommended.
Spacious room with a beautiful view (on the bridge :-)) little snag for the duvet too small for two people :-( very clean and modern bathroom
Fantastic hotel friendly staff, nice little touches
This is a traditional hotel with an old decoration but very typical for this place, close to the center of Luxembourg where you spend a very good time at the bar or restaurant the staff is very helpful and nice I'll come back is sure especially the special evenings when the singer Emmy Denice sings there, very pleasant thank you
Charming hotels well located in Luxembourg City. Nice rooms and friendly helpful staff.
This hotel is incredible. It has two elevators. The room we were in was medium, with its desk, refrigerator, glasses and ice bucket, safe, ... The bed was good and you could rest. In the bathroom there was a bathtub with its corresponding bathroom elements and it had hot, hot water for the cold.
Its location is great and you can get anywhere on foot. Great treatment and experience.
Went for their allegedly renowned cocktails. The atmosphere is stuffy and snobby. People will look at you if you are not dressed in a suit. Took us 30 minutes to get our drinks, which were overpriced and not special in any way. Beware of the hotel, friends who stayed there called out bedbugs!
Beds have very soft mattresses and castors. Therefore, the beds (each approx. 90 cm?) Roll away unintentionally. Bathroom outdated.
Windows do not seem to close properly, there was a draft and the room and bathroom did not warm properly when the heater was set to 5 even though the windows were closed.
Cooked breakfast egg 3, fried egg 5 or 6 (?) In addition.
Otherwise: Great location of the hotel, friendly staff, a hotel with character and flair.
GOOD LOCATION, GOOD QUALITY OF SERVICES AND VERY CLEAN. THE RECEPTION IS VERY KIND.
Full of charms. Hotel from the end of the 19th century.
Caring and caring staff.
Dynamic boss.
The only problem is that we can hear quite well that the roommates are talking.
Sensational location facing Gele Fra.
We will return.
Charming hotel with character in excellent location, would definitely recommend. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Nice touches with bath robes provided and apples in the room on arrival.
Decent hotel, helpful staff, large rooms, but seems to have stayed too old, uncomfortable for 20 years.
Ultra-central location
Clean rooms
Very friendly reception staff
Excellent breakfast included
Very good coffee
This is a very interesting hotel as they chose to use some old features that hotels used to have probably 50 years ago. The idea is nice but in practice not necessarily working. Also while the room we stayed in was spacious, the toilet was not well designed (you couldn't even close the shower curtains and the toilet paper oh so cheap!). Location wise is good and staff very kind.
Bit dated. But otherwise fine. Location is perfect.
The rooms are quite outdated - probably last refurbished 30+ years ago.
It was clean and the staff very helpful but I would
Expect more for the price.
Only the name Grand Hotel, nothing more.
Renovation needed, good location.
Very good location, all the charm of the 50's in each part ... Only problem is that the room did not have air conditioning and the window was facing the corridor so if left open people could see inside the room. I ran out of ventilation all night.
The elevetters were old and frightened to be frightening, but the croissant for breakfast was delicious. The room was clean and clean. The view from the room was also good.
The location was also convenient.
Super well placed. The pleasant welcome. Wifi fee. Room on the 3rd floor (that I had) to renovate but deco wholesale is pretty cool
Very cosy place in the midle of the city. Good breakfast and good service. It has a nice view from the room. Much possibilyties at the TV's in the rooms. There are in the neighbourhood much restuarants and the hotel has got one to. Its a central, busy (not to much) and the hotel has got a moderate price class. So i give it 5 stars
In addition to the car seal of the south side and without air conditioning
A classy hotel, beautifully maintained, with authentic charm unlike modern soulless hotels.
It is a very well placed establishment close to the city center.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, the buffet breakfast is varied and complete.
The service is attentive and efficient.
A low budget room facing the street, soundproofing to review ... Otherwise very professional service and breakfast to the care.
It was a bit old hotel but the service and cleanness were not particularly bad. I was happy to have a lot of fruit for breakfast. It was impressive that the boy was speaking in the language of the customer's country, one after another, and that he could speak five countries.
Clean hotel a little too loud Beds good room ok but a little old fashioned Breakfast ok from the 4 stars but I would give only 2.5-3 stars
Very friendly staff, good location, right in the center. With a wrong booking also very helpful in finding the right solution; Super nice!
Perfect location in the old town. Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are a little dated but generally not an issue. Perfect for a short break in Luxembourg.
Rooms were old, we couldn't sleep because it was so hot. No air con. When we opened the windows for fresh air it was too bright and very loud.
The rooms are equiped with old and very used furniture
As an assistant I was urgenlty looking for 4 rooms to book during a bussy period in Lux. they told me they had rooms, I was so releaved. Next day I receive an email saying they have no rooms left :( what kind of service is that! get your sh** together people!
The hotel has a fantastic location and you have a great view from your window! The staff are all nice and attentive, the service is impeccable. You can talk in both German, English and French and is always warmhearted cared for. The rooms are big and tidy. Only to be recommended! You should also pay a visit to the bar in the house, the aperol sprizz is fantastic
In the center, old style but without air conditioning in the summer is a nightmare
It is a very old hotel. In the elevator you always think that you get stuck right away. However, the bathrooms are newly renovated, it is extremely clean and it expects another snack on the bedside table.
What I really fault are the pillows. They are just too soft. Urgently ask for a second, which might be a little harder.
All in all, a nice hotel, with a nice view from the balcony. Can I recommend in good conscience.
It is a secret and exclusive place, it must be discovered and rediscovered urgently!
The refrigerator was not working, kettle was broken too, the first 2 days there were some packets of tea next to kettle, but the last day they just dissapeared, bath was not clean
Beautiful hotel and Luxembourg a city to discover. Safety pin.
Old hotel where the common areas have been remodeled better than the rooms. Good breakfast, quality products and excellent service.
Correct rooms, somewhat old bathrooms. Comfortable beds
The best, by far, the location, EXCELLENT.
Very centrally located hotel, also clean! But the breakfast buffet is completely overpriced and very manageable! Completely outdated bath, without soap, shower cream, or other. In my opinion, not a four star hotel
Great service as always I love to be back again soon .
If you want to have a very good experience visiting Luxembourg spending some time back in time please give them a chance to show you the magic of great services, an a great location seems to be coming from royalty life just for you! I ve been in this hotel twice. First time it was a great experience and the atmosphere was great! In that time the hotel were crowded and I was very surprised to see the personnel were very friendly and very prompt relaxed and absolutely nice! Clean and comfortable! Now I have been for another week and I had the huge surprise to see that the rooms were renovated, keeping the historic image of the hotel! Front desk personnel were absolutely great and incredible polite! Very helpful and friendly! The bartender amazes me with his offers and professional service! The breakfast was very very good and fresh! Wow I decided to come back soon!
Very nice staff, good location except for parking. It might have been 4 stars once but isn't now. "Vintage" or outdated: decide for yourself, but it's a time capsule of the 60's in a threadbare kind of way. The whole place smells something like talcum powder.
Our room faced the valley, which seems good until you find that the street is a main road for trucks, starting at 5am and the windows do not block sound at all. Similarly, the walls block no sound either and our late night neighbors keep us up, too.
The pillows are illusions: they look like pillows but compress 100% and don't support your head. The towels are threadbare and they only have us one regular size and one very small.
Finally, and likely due to the poor sounds insulation, the toilets don't flush between certain hour of the night, which is rather unpleasant in many ways.
The hotel bar is very nice. The total calm in the evening, a real chimney fires in winter. The best bartender in Luxembourg reigns there, a true champion of cocktails!
Honestly not great except for the location.
EDIT: Your response that this is a vintage, traditional hotel is fair. But I found that my colleague had a much nicer room than I did. My room was very small and cramped and the bed was uncomfortable and the quality of his room was much higher even though it was same room type.
Really lovely stay, polite and helpful staff.
Perfect location.
Very convenient location. The interior is completely tacky.
Hotel great location to the city center ..... beautiful and elegant
Highly recommended. Good location. The interior of the hotel is old, but very well maintained. The interior is retro as seen in the film from the eighties and nineties.
Stayed here for a night. Pleasant reception. Nice room, got one with a nice view to the city. Enjoyed the breakfast.
Amazing retro/vintage hotel on a top notch location. I wouldn't choose any other hotel in Luxemburg. Might be tricky during summer as they have no aircon, but I visited in October so it was just lovely.
