It is a beautiful hotel and defiantly has a great reputation. But for the price I think they need to update some of the hotel. The elevator needs to be updated to a key access for security reasons because anyone could walk in and roam the hallways. They also should change the door rooms from their old wooden doors and the carpet could be updated. Other than that it is beautiful and has great customer service

People under (or over?) estimate the Brown Palace as a place for happy hour or an evening cocktail. The lobby often has live music and the drinks are great and well priced. The Ship Tavern is a classic bar atmosphere with no frills and lots of old school charm. The piano player is always excellent and you can tell a lot of the musicians and waiters have been there for a long time- always a good sign at an establishment like this one. The staff is just as you'd expect it to be at a high-end hotel: courteous and welcoming, even if you aren't staying for the night.

Very nice atmosphere, styled in Art Deco. The room I stayed in was kind of small, and the water took a minute to heat up, but I m not really complaining. We stopped in the in house coffee shop as well, which is cute and has a small but quality selection of coffees and teas. The woman behind the counter was really nice as well!

This is an amazing hotel. Exquisitely beautiful and regal. It is no wonder why this was the White House in the west for Dwight Eisenhower. Staff are polite and attentive, food is delicious and the rooms are fantastic. Worth every penny. You will feel like royalty.

The Brown Palace's Afternoon Tea is extremely wonderful, from the teas to the calming ambience. The experience was delightful and I would recommend others to visit their Afternoon Tea asap.

My personal belongings were stolen out of my room ...

My personal belongings were stolen out of my room and safe while staying at the Brown Palace on the last day of a week long business trip! I believe it was the house keepers who stole over $2,000 worth of my personal items including $440 cash, Tiffany cuff links, tie bar with a diamond end and 3 prescriptions. I had a flight Friday right after check out and I believe the thieves hoped I wouldn t realize until I got home. Late Thursday night someone was pounding on my door, I opened it to see 3 house keepers, 1 who put her head down and took off with the kart, another disappeared and the last was stuck at my door and I couldn t understand a word she was saying (I think she was playing dumb). They knew, hoping I was out to dinner on the final night with the rest of my fellow employees, but I wasn t. My son was sick at home with the flu in ER with a temp over 106. I have never wrote a negative review in my 35 years of existence and the first thing I said to the each hotel staff and manager was that I am not that guy, I understand things happen and hopefully we can just take care of things. However, whenever I tell you the level of customer service was an embarrassment, well that is an understatement. First off, they asked me to count my medication at the front lobby, when over 100 guests are directly behind us and countless colleagues. I asked to be taken to a private room, the little security gaurd took me too a ball room and (as my grandfather who was chief of police told me, always be aware of your surroundings at all times) I saw 2 young hotel staff hanging around, making loops while I was at the front counter....and when the security gaurd and I were in this private room down multiple hallways, conveniently, those two happen to barge in. Hum? Then after he proceeded to tell me what he is going to do, which had absolutely no bearing on helping me or my situation, I asked to speak to a manager. We went back to the front desk and she proceeded to ask to see what was left of the medication at the front desk! I had to ask her, can we go somewhere private....ready for this? She takes me right in front of the entry way to the hotel where hotel guests entered left and right while we tried to talk and 4 separate hotel employees came over and interrupted us! I told her, at that point what I knew was the dollar amount I spent to fill the rx and would have to spend to refill and that was $1,000. She offered to take off the week for the hotel stay, that was booked on the company card so that did not help me, she said I can t give cash so how does free hotel nights sound, well that s actually all I can do and the max I can do is 3 nights free at any Marriott hotel and then I will email the hotel manager to try and get you a week free. As frustrated as I was, i saw no other option at that point so I said ok fine for now. BUT here is the kicker...she said oh don t worry about your prescriptions being refilled, we will write up a letter and send over everything to your doctors so your prescriptions are refilled, We Do This All The Time! Are you kidding me!! So she acknowledged that her staff steals from guests before and multiple times as this is not the first time! It gets better, while I am filling out the hotel incident report, not to mention the security gaurd and hotel manager laughing and joking, but she came over to me and said sorry I can only give you 1 free night, I apologize, I over promised, my bad at that point I did everything to stay calm being on company time. Come to find out she was the assistant manager. She told me that she was going to inform the hotel manager of everything that happen and make sure he has the incident report. When I went to work the next day, I let them know what happened, corporate security got involved and come to find out, the hotel manager had absolutely no idea what happened!
Now here is what I find to be even more disrespectful and lack of class, this occurred on Thursday, May 3rd it is now Monday May 7th and I have not received a single phone call from the hotel!

This place is absolutely stunning! I love buildings with lots of years behind them, as well as an accompanying rich history, and The Brown Palace is those things. My partner and I were looking for a last-minute romantic weekend getaway, and we stayed here specifically for the building's history. We loved it, were not disappointed (everything was very clean!), and will definitely try to come back in the future!

The Palace Arms is always a choice for dinner. But on this day we sat down for High Tea. The staff was excellent, tea was perfect. The tea sandwichs (finger sandwich) are really good. The curry egg salad was perfect.

The building is gorgeous, the service was ok, but the afternoon tea was horrible. The preservatives were store bought, serve to you in a small jar you can buy at any 99 cent store. The milk and butter (it is supposed to be clotted cream) were brought to the table before we even ordered and the bowl the butter came in was freezing, so you know it was just waiting in the freezer (probably for days). They only have about 10 teas to choose from, half of them are not loose and there are no refills. The sconces taste like dinner biscuit. Again, the service was average, the staff did their job well. It was the tea service itself that is lacking. If you have never been to afternoon tea you might enjoy this, but if you are a afternoon tea veteran like me you should stay away.

Very nice place for wedding reception. The ballroom was huge with very high ceilings. The pianist was excellent and even played tunes that little kids enjoyed. Ambience was wonderful and the servers were very kind. Huge dance floor for everyone to enjoy. Definitely a great place for having a wedding reception.

When we first arrived no one offered help on luggage. They attempted to charge $5 to bring ice?? and another $5 charge for a bottle opener?? Told the manager, he apologized and said he'd never heard such a thing..weird, especially since there's an ice machine across our room they could've told us about?? Bar and high tea is impressive. Rooms are average, very small bathroom vanity. Not worth another stay..

Cancelled my reservation for july 21st on july 16th well in advance. Cancelled online and found out days later cancellation did not go through. Called in and was assured I would not be charged. Well this morning i woke up to a $309 charge on my account. Was told 3-7 business days for a possible refund. Totally unacceptable considering I never should have been charged to begin with. Also they now conveniently have no record of my reservation and could not find anything in the system. Totally ridiculous ans unacceptable. Will never do business with this company again.

Super chill vibe at the Brown Palace. We found ourselves at the cigar bar last night and definitely enjoyed our time. It s a classy place to relax and smoke a cigar, eat appetizers and take the edge off with a few drinks. The food menu in the cigar bar is a bit limited so if your hungry, I d recommend trying one of the other taverns in the hotel first before relaxing at the cigar bar. Prices were reasonable. Cigars were bomb. Highly recommend checking this place out

Loved the spa! I accidentally showed up at the wrong time and they easily accommodated me and moved my appointments up. All the staff were friendly and professional. I definitely plan on going again.

Came here for tea with girlfriend for a family bday. It was fun. Expensive but fun. Very nice. If you go to the ship tavern it is more casual but any other dinning area I would dress more appropriate. Parking is terrible. Just use valet parking. Few parking lots off 18th but can be hard to get a spot.

I am visiting The Brown Palace for a conference and could not be more impressed. The staff from the hotel are all courteous and professional, the organization for the rooms is impeccable, and the food is thus far delicious. I sincerely hope that my conference will be returning to The Brown Palace next year.

OMG! What a grand and elegant hotel. A legend and deservedly so. Tasty full breakfast served by real waiters. Delicious dinner at a ship model restaurant. Don't miss the Churchill Bar, with dozens of single malts, Bourbons, rye, a huge charcuterie plate, calamari, and more. Best of all: amazing, old school bartenders, the very best!

We went to see the Christmas decorations. It was beautiful! Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. Organic coffee and tea for sale and the food looked yummy. Fancy brunch time for the holiday.

Absolutely incredible. There were a couple small hickups, but the staff made up for it and ensured that our stay was as relaxing as possible. The brunch was amazing and our suite was perfect. Will definitely be coming back.

The hotel is a well maintained historic hotel that is cool precisely because it's a well maintained historic hotel. The shower fixture didn't work properly so that adjusting the temp was near impossible but a really hot shower is okay, just not my preference. (Details on the fixture: it's an older style with separate controls for cold and hot and the hand held vs. Wall mounted shower head. There was a back pressure issue when the shower was on that crippled temp control.)
