12/30/18 - We stayed in a Top of the Brown room at the Brown Palace over the holidays and it was amazing! Nice large room and bathroom! All the staff we encountered were professional, friendly and helpful! We're thinking of making it an annual tradition!
11/27/19 - We went to the Brown Palace for afternoon tea - our third time with all the wonderful Christmas decorations. One person in our party had some dietary restrictions that I had called and asked about and they said, no problem, just tell your server. Well, we did and we found out I was given wrong information over the phone. But they accommodated his dietary restrictions with plate after plate of delicious food that he could eat - at no cost to us because of the misunderstanding! The staff went above and beyond anything we would have hoped for! I would give then 10 stars if I could!

A group of friends and I met for late afternoon tea. We had forgotten to ask about menu items for special dietary needs in advance and since the pastry chef had already left for the day, there was no way to place a special order. Even so, one of our tea hosts was able to magically create a plate of gluten-free delights for our friend so she could fully enjoy tea with the rest of us. We had such a lovely time that we stayed late but we were not rushed out or pressured to leave. The tea staff is always great but this time, they went above and beyond to accommodate us and make our experience perfect.

We were part of a private party, the Denver Skal group,we traditionally have our xmas event at the Brown. My spouse and I were very disappointed in this year's dinner. To start with dinner rolls that at least two days old I did not consume but one bite
The salad was well done but the entre below brown standards. The shrimp too salty and the prime rib (I think) was not properly trimmed and fat laden..overall a poor dinner for a high price..sorry not good..

The High Tea was a full sensory experience. My daughter brought me here for a gift so just the start was perfect. From there, everything else fit very well; the live piano, the wonderful food, the delectable tea and then, of course, the environment. A perfect outing.

Beautiful and lovely historic hotel. We stayed at the Top of the Brown. The room was beautiful and spacious. However, we were in a handicap accessible room. While the bathroom was large; the toilet was extremely low and difficult to access for someone in a wheelchair. Most handicap rooms accommodate the guest with an elevated toilet.

Romance package was so great that we booked a second night. The price was the best of any we tried to book. 2 drinks at the bar with an appetizer, free valet parking and use of limousine!

Took my mom and daughter to the holiday tea last weekend. Was very dissatisfied. We have been several times in the past. This year it felt tired, overpriced and lacked all thr special touches you'd expect from a hotel of the Brown Palace's stature. Finger sandwiches were stale -- bread was hard. Tea was not loose leaf but served in tea bags. Waiters spilled water and tables around us had to stand up and go seek out top ups of hot water. Table linens were tired and looked like a relic of the 1980s. Christmas decorations we're plastic and looked cheap. Bathrooms were out of service for more than an hour. What happened to the Brown Palace? I thought it was meant to be a special and 5 star hotel?

Could definitely have been a lot cleaner. Our floor had not been vacuumed as it had food remains on it. Also the desk had sticky residue on top. Numerous other cleaning issues. Two light bulbs out and the whole room was very dark, even with the working lights. Breakfast mediocre at $50 for two people.

Seems like another example of a large corporation putting the profit squeeze on a once-great property. I would not be inclined to return.

Sunday brunch at the Brown Palace is an event! We came in on a lark and left pampered and pleasantly filled with quite possibly the best brunch we've had in decades. It's not a budget-conscience event but well worth every penny.

I can for the sunday brunch, which included seafood and the food was amazing! They had the usual breakfast foods, even an omelette station and NY steak at the carving station. Their shrimp were jumbo sized, mussels and clams cooked with flavor, and the oysters were large, fresh, and tased great. Now the desserts were on a while other level. There was a banana foster station where they sauteed the bananas infront of you and vanilla ice cream to add, all kinds of cakes and pies, and a chocolate fountain -one side milk chocolate and the other side white chocolate with all kinds of fruits and candies to dip. The ultimate dessert was their adult chocolate sipping drink with kahlua -like a thick hot chocolate, so good! Granted its $50/pp, but i made sure i ate well over enough to make up the price.

Firstly the folks at Marriott refused to even attempt to accommodate moving our reservation or providing a rain-check when Denver went to "red level" COVID restrictions, meaning no restaurants were open for in person dining, which was to be the highlight of our anniversary stay. Yes, we booked at the no-cancellation or reservation change rate, but these were somewhat extenuating circumstances, and it wasn't as if we were asking for a refund. I could have lived with this nuisance considering it was entirely on us for agreeing to the terms. This being said, what a poor approach to "customer service".

The best part of our stay was the lobby, which was beautiful with Christmas decorations, and we had it completely to ourselves for the time we spent admiring it.

The room, for the price, was adequate with a decent view ("Top of the Brown"). It was plenty roomy, but the decor was sparse and cheap. The bathroom was sub par, to say the least. The most recent "renovations" looked like they hired a complete novice. The tub was large but scuffed up badly giving it a motel-feel, and the shower was comically small - I could hardly bend over (in ANY dimension) and the shower head wouldn't adjust so that it wasn't constantly angled too high given the size of the shower. I might add that I am NOT a large person by any means. I've been in larger showers in budget Parisian hotels.

Lastly, we were charged an additional $300 for breaking a desk, which is utterly untrue. I'll note, we absolutely moved the desk to the window (carefully, with two people) to have a somewhat pleasant place to eat (having been forced to eat our meals in the room). In no way was the desk damaged when we moved it or subsequently used it. My only thought is that it was broken by housekeeping or engineering attempting to move the desk back (presumably by a single person) or that there was some part of the desk that was previously damaged (unbeknownst to us) and it was simply noticed upon moving the desk back to its position. Again, a poor approach to customer service, as the charge was simply added to the card without contacting us.

All said, I will certainly NOT be staying here again, or at a Marriott-owned establishment, if it can be avoided. In hindsight, there are considerably better options in this area for the price; the best part of this establishment can be enjoyed entirely for free by simply walking into the lobby. I thought the history and character of the building would provide a charming and romantic experience, but instead my impressions were of chintz, depression, and poor attention to detail layered over what must have once been grandeur and elegance. What a shame.

Incredible service & everything you want in a hotel. The spa is wonderful. I've had the couples massage there twice now. There is a fitness center to use across the street with modern circuit equipment, free weights and each piece of cardio equipment has it's own tv attached. High tea is amazing in the lobby. The staff must like working here as well because it has been the same staff that remembers us when we return. One of the pianists in the lobby has been working there 50 years. The Palace Arms restaurant (try the bison) is also a must.

What can I say? This is The Brown Palace, it is just a really fun experience to stay here. The hotel is truly astounding, the rooms are beautiful, but as others have said, a little small - but that is to be expected in a historic hotel. The service is usually quite friendly and the location is good.

Beautiful old hotel with lots of history. We didn't get to participate in much around the hotel but enjoyed the stay. Defonitley an old hotel. Done improvements & is nice. Hotel ammenities are expensive : spa, tea, etc. Close to lots of stuff downtown. Free car service in the mornings & evenings which is really nice.

The room was very nice and the staff were very attentive. I was not feeling well and requested a humidifier be brought to my room. The gentleman that brought it kindly filled it with water and got it plugged in for me, without me even asking. It's the little things and this hotel understands that.

It's wonderful to have afternoon tea here the ambiance and elegance are outstanding. The real pleasure is to feel the weight of history as it is conveyed that they have been doing this for a long time and plan to continue doing so for an even longer time. It makes the whole experience pleasurable and memorable, and makes for a great way to get to know the foundations of the city.

What a great hotel in an awesome part of Denver! The hotel definitely goes back to a bygone era with an amazing atrium lobby, a friendly staff, and the feeling that it was built to last forever.

The bathroom was really well appointed with excellent water pressure. The bed was very comfortable and the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly.

To look at the hotel, you wouldn t know it was a Marriott. But Marriott knows what it s doing what it comes to hotels and very little was overlooked in this autograph collection hotel.

The hotel is unfortunately not related to the unsinkable Molly Brown of Titanic fame, but her house is only a few blocks away and is available to tour.

The restaurants and bar at the hotel are also worth a visit. The holiday decorations are second to none.

We went for high tea on Christmas Eve day. The service was prompt and friendly, and everything was delicious. They put too many tables close together though, and the live music was too loud. But overall a good experience.

While this hotel was absolutely beautiful, and I adjusted my expectations due to the current virus-related restrictions, I was still let down by my experience here. I never received poor service from any of the employees and could tell everyone was trying their best, but the hotel was severely understaffed for the number of guests. Parking was quite expensive, which I was fine with since it s valet and in the middle of the city, however there was only one valet attendant ever on duty, even during peak hours, so service was understandably slower than expected.

My room was beautiful and spacious, but left a lot to be desired considering the price point. Most of the issues could have been resolved if current hotel policies were more reasonable. The tub was dirty and scuffed up, and when we requested for it to be cleaned, we were told they would not send housekeeping into our room (even if we were not in the room) and tried to put us in another (smaller) room as a remedy, which we declined, and ended up dealing with the mess ourselves. This is just not acceptable for a four star hotel.

On top of the bathtub being dirty, there were several smaller issues that just ruined the luxury experience for us. The shower was terrible because it was very small and the shower head did not adjust adequately for the size of the shower, so I was getting sprayed in the face with water the whole time I was standing in it. There was also a leak coming from one of the sink knobs every time it was turned on. There were multiple overhead lights blown throughout the suite which I knew they would not remedy after the conversation regarding the bathtub, including the entryway and the vanity/closet room. This was a large suite, so we just had to deal with certain areas of the hotel room being dim for the entirety of the stay.... Finally, the coffee bar only contained two decaf K cups (no regular caffeinated ones) and one coffee mug for two people staying three nights (as I mentioned earlier, they were not providing housekeeping, so I had to request this basic amenity be provided). If housekeeping will not be provided, at least leave enough coffee for the guests staying in the room....

Overall, I would have preferred to save my money and stay somewhere cheaper since I don t feel that I got what I paid for.
