Great beer selection but they need to up their service game. I've been a few times recently and I don't care how busy you are, I shouldn't have to wait that long for a beer while sitting at the bar. One time they were clearly understaffed but the other two times they were experts at avoiding eye contact. They should visit King Taps and learn how to it. Great location and atmosphere but it doesn't make me want to visit again.
Fun night out. Fantastic live music. Pretty crowded, but the bartenders still find you when you're ready to order. Screens everywhere for game nights.
Good place for shareable foods. The different drinks were nice as well. Good took a little bit, although that's expected on Valentines Day

I'm giving them 2 stars because they sat our group of eight on a Monday night but told us we only had just over an hour before another reservation. We sat there for 17 minutes and no one came by with menus, water, anything so we decided to leave. One of us stayed behind to meet another group and ended up with food poisoning from the oysters. I wanted to give this a fair chance but it was a bad experience all around. I gave it the extra star because the menu and beer list looked good and I do wish it had worked out.
I had a Deschutes Black Butter Porter pint and it was delicious. The Poutine was adequate. I ve always adored the decor here!
If you like beer this is the place to go. Over 150 different beers to choose from. Try the menu items offered you won't be disappointed. Overall a great experience.

We came for a Team lunch recently. I pre-organised everything with Meg. We went for a set menu with some team members ordering off the regular menu for dietary requirements. Everyone enjoyed their meal... and the huge selection of drinks! Our servers, Cam & Kaileigh were very helpful. Would definitely recommend the Bier Markt on the Esplanade for a corporate lunch.

Had a really good diner and a couple of beers. Super friendly staff, and a Good waiter whom also likes beer. Steaks with finger lings potatoes and vegs. Was perfekt cooked. Really lived the taste and feels of everything.

A+ charcuterie board, they don't skimp out at all and it was really delicious. BM exclusive brews are excellent too. Atmosphere is much nicer with the renovations, more spacious and less dim. Overall, highly recommend.

This is a great place in the downtown core, it has a great atmosphere, good food, a wide selection of beers and drinks. The staff are very friendly and I can't wait to go back.
I m sad that this place got renovated to look like a sports bar. It used to be a great looking bar, different ... unique. and now it looks like a wings restaurant with 20 blasting TVs . Before u had TVs but not that many and still had a cool bar vibe. I still like it but it used to be so much better

Nice place and good beer selection but a bit pricey...last Friday night I ordered a pint of Leffe Blonde at the bar and it was $10.25 before the tip.
Very nice beer selection, even the non-alcoholic section is good where my wife found a new favourite, "Krombacher". I tried the "Honkers" beer which was excellent.
Short rib for dinner was very good, wife tried salmon and was happy about the dish. Huge and tasty desserts! :)
Waited half an hour and even asking multiple times to place our order, no waiter ever came to our table. This was at 1:30pm, the place wasn t even busy. Terrible service, will not be coming back.

Visited here over Christmas while I was in town. Great experience overall. Staff at the front were friendly, service was fantastic, food was great and the drink recommendations from our server hit the spot. (I wish I could remember her name to give her a shout out here.)
I left very happy, and will certainly be back whenever I'm home.

Fantastic flavours. Food is freshly prepared. Schnitzel is fantastic. Service was slow once for us but for the other times, it was decent. This place is a little bit too expensive for what you get though.
Beer selection is its strong point. The Markt Burger is pretty good, actually. They've revamped the menu and got rid of the big pretzel, which is sort of a disappointment. Pizza is also pretty decent. Good place to go with family and friends and watch a game. A bit on the overpriced side but quality is definitely there.
Nothing too special. It is mostly a beer place. Food is pretty good but there isnt alot of options to choose from. Surprisingly they had no nachos! Wings and fries were pretty good.
Food was fantastic...Street parking free bc it's Sunday. ..atmosphere was great. Only reason i gave it a 4 star was because at the start our waiter took a good 13 min to come over and even get a drink order. First time there and would Def go back though.

Was at Bier Markt on Saturday meeting up with some friends for some beers and dinner. If you love your beer your be like a kid at a candy store here. Really interesting selection they have on. We met the bar manager there who was really friendly and helpful. Had a good chat about beer and he recommended some great beers for us to try as we where unfamiliar with a lot of the beers they had. The winner of the night had to be the Mango beer, I've forgot the name of it but if you see it try it! I also strongly recommended the brewhouse burger if you get hungry, it's extremely tasty and really filling. Will definitely be going back.
Welcome change to the menu. We had had the farm house chicken salad and the hamburgers, both good but not memorable. The beer selection is vast and well organized. The renovation looks great patio is fairly large and comfortable. This place handles large groups well.
They served great food, and drinks. Great for social gatherings and company gatherings. Hospitality was great as well and is a definite recommended for group outings and company gatherings.
Server ignored us and didn't bring us drinks nor the bill when we asked.
They should update their website. No Greenwood or fresh squeezed right now.

Over 100 beers available, including my favorite fruity not-really-beer Belgian beers...shame they were out of the raspberry...and the cherry...luckily they had the cassis. Tasty sliders and a surprisingly good piece of salmon served over a ginormous spinach salad. I'd go back. We sat in the bar which had reasonably atmosphere with pop music and ESPN on the screens. They also have outdoor seating.

This place used to be great. Good food, huge selection of beer and a great atmosphere. Since the renovations this bar seems like it's trying to please too many demographics. It's a sports bar for people with bad taste in sports bars, a beer ball for people who don't know what a beer ball is, and a dance bar for people with no other options. It might as well be a Boston Pizza... Except they still have a good beer list.

Great Place; Food quality good but not so good in service
My wife and I stopped by on a Monday afternoon looking for a spot on the patio. There was no one at the front desk, then when a hostess did show up, she stopped mid conversation with us and served the group of girls who obviously came in after us. We walked out immediately, so I can't speak to the rest of the service or the food. In previous experiences I've had fun here but always found staff to be uppity and pretentious. For a relaxed unpretentious drink go to one of the other patios in the area like Amsterdam bicycle club.
Nice brewhouse with good selection and nice staff. It's also a convenient location -- between the lake and the city center.

I loved going to the Bier Markt! Very fun environment, lots of beer on tap! I only have two complaints. One: this location has a booth facing the door; we were originally seated here but asked to switch because the cold wind hit us everytime someone came in or someone left.
Two: we had a waitress who welcomed us and asked if we were ready to order and we said we needed more time. She didn't come back, so another girl came and took our order. Well, after the second girl took our order, she didn't come back either haha. The first girl that served us came back finally and told us she didn't know why our order never came and that she would take our order again. And right after she left, our original order finally made it to the table!
This place is absolutely great and none of this changed my mind on the place, but I think there just needs to be better communication between servers and maybe no booth by the door.

I'd been to the location near Sherway gardens before, so I kind of knew what to expect.
The food is never great, very by-the-numbers pub fare, but the kicker is that everything is very expensive. For a standard meal and 2 beers (no app or dessert) you're looking at around $50+ after tax and tip.
That's just unacceptable for the quality of food and surprisingly weak beer selection.
MANY other (better) options are available.

Good food and an interesting menu with an excellent selection of available brews. The beer menu is organized by style and contains some more obscure selections and a rotating tap.
Long wait for a table but they offer the option to receive a text when table is ready and accept a waiting list for the patio which is nice, lots of beer menu selection was sold out (rodenbach, deus brut des flandres, etc.), food is pub quality but fine, service was nice.

Good menu variety, and they had ciders on tap, which I always appreciate. Our server was friendly and quick with everything. Would recommend if you're looking for a crowd pleasing place for lunch.
The Bier Market on the esplanade was very accommodating to me while trying to plan and host a party of 30 for dinner as well as many more for drinks afterwards for a 40th surprise party. They didn't have any problems me coming in early to set up a few decorations as well. The staff was very professional and did very well tracking down those guest who would order a drink and continue to wonder about the party space.
I highly recommend holding an event at the bier market. The food and beer as always was delicious and went down very smoothly.

Been coming here must be 5 plus years now. Excellent selection of beer. The clams and mussels are a great choice to share and so is the platter. Never had a bad time, ever.
Asked for a steak at medium rare. Steak was raw in the center and sent it back. At least they got it right the second time. Service and food were very average.
Bier Markt Experience!
Our Saturday night started out great, my husband and I both got new rotating taps that were given to us by our waiter (Bass) and appetizers too. Then we noticed one of the tables next to us causing problems with the staff that were bringing the food out, they also instigated a fight with a nearby table. Very shortly after our server informed us he was leaving. My husband spoke to the manager asking to keep our server, and the manager rudely declined, leaving us wanting to go home. Unfortunate way to end a night that started great by other rude guests, losing our server and rude management.
Decent beer selection. However, they are constantly out of many of the beers on their menu (which if you never have it why is it on your menu?). The food and service are ok. If you are someone like me who prefers a quieter environment to enjoy a beer and a conversation this is no place to go on Friday or Saturday since it turns into a club.
