The affordable version of Great Wolf Lodge and if you're a family on a budget looking for a vacation or short weekend stay, then you should consider the Americana Conference Resort Spa & Waterpark in Niagara Falls. Located within easy access of the QEW on Lundy's Lane. Immediately adjacent to FreshCo supermarket is handy for picking up food and snacks for the kids, also if budget is an issue. This hotel is clean, maybe not the most modern, but they offer theme rooms with bunk beds which is fun for kids, and you don't have to make these beds. The waterpark is great for younger kids but those over 12 may find it lacking. The wave pool is not overwhelming for the smaller children but adult accompaniment is essential. Besides the slides, the tipping bucket is also a major hit. Access to the Waterpark is available by separate admission for non-hotel guests, which may suit those staying at campgrounds or other nearby hotels looking for something more than a pool or natural body of water or inclement weather. Year round operation.
Restaurant and snack bar on site offering lots of good food and drink options. Nightly parade on Lundy's Lane during Holiday time of year.
Loved it geared towards smaller kids which I love having three under 6
We attended the waterpark portion and it was the first day of the new hours we had 5 hours of total time and spent 4 hours there. It was a great place and we would stay at the hotel next time. Our concern was they had limited staff and that caused them to rotate the open and closed time on the toddler section the main water slides. That was really upsetting with kids age 3 4 and 7. The food was great prices were great. Staff amazing and really showed interest and had a laugh.
This is a good place to visit if you have kids. They have a pool for everyone, shallow one with small slides, a wave pool, a splash pad with two slides, 3 large slides and a big spa for 20 people.
You can buy over priced snacks, pizza and drinks from the bar inside the arcade without leaving the water park area.
We enjoyed the park but everything including the hotel rates are over priced. We payed $20 on parking for 1 night plus another $20 on mandatory fees for painfully slow and not always available unlimited wifi, the use of a desktop computer somewhere in the lobby (who needs that these days) and pool towels (those were ok).
A 250 a night room ends up being 290 plus taxes, which is very misleading when budgeting for a gateway, all fees should be included on the rate.
As some warning signs on the facility state, these pools have more chlorine than you average swimming pool, take a shower right after coming out of the pool or your skin will suffer.
Overall a good experience.
Stayed for one night on the second floor with a large school group. Front desk service was friendly and efficient. Security provided arrived on time and provided excellent overnight service. Rooms were outdated but clean. Televsion did not work in room 246.
It's fun but on website it looks bigger in pics then it actually is
Needs some updating in the water park, but still lots of fun. The arcade is horribly run and half of the games are either out of order or out of tickets.
Staff were friendly. Rooms were better than expected. Water part was awesome !
I was expecting more water rides for grown ups. Including only two water slides being there was getting boring. but the hot tub was the best even though the chlorine really hurt my eyes after.
Indoor water park is great for kids.
My kids love this place.
Wonderful staff with an indoor water park that is spacious and includes a hot tub. The rooms are home-like and are nice to stay in. Overall a very pleasant experience.
The waterpark is fun for kids, although it is loud and can be overstimulating.
My family just spent 2 nights there and doubt we ll go back. I ll start by saying the staff are amazing. Our son is diabetic so we stopped by the buffet ahead of time to get nutritional info. The chef came out and had given us all of the nutritional info stickers of everything we were asking about.
Onto the rest of the stay... our room was right beside an exit. Normally that s not a problem, but the keycard entry wasn t working so there were groups of people banging on the door and yelling to try to get in until 2:30 am. It was right beside our kids room so that went over reallllly well.
The waterpark was alright but poorly supervised and dirty. Used bandaids on the floor, saw a few bloody noses IN the wave pool (the kids just washed it off in the water. Ew) and we were picking lots of hair off of ourselves once we got out (that wasn t ours). Mentioned it to staff and it was shrugged off.
The room was clean and fairly comfortable. If you have tall kids, don t get a bunk bed though! Very little clearance on the bottom bunks.
All in all, we won t be going back unless there s some kind of amazing deal. Even then it will be questionable.
Beautiful place, but check in and out times are a pain. Was here for a wedding
Waterpark fun for the kids.
Hotel dated and worn.
Rooms dated and worn.
Hotel could use some renos and refreshing.
Value not necessarily worth the price
Waterpark was ok but the place smelled like weed the whole time we were there. Rooms were not very sound proof.
We were the for a dance competition. The concession stand was so expensive!
Overall a good experience. The hotel lobby staff were efficient, we arrived very early (11:30) and our room was ready which was a life saver. The room could use some updating, but it was clean and had everything we needed with plenty of pillows and towels. The waterpark is fantastic for the age 3-8. It s not as big as others in the area (Fallsview, GWL) but this is a big positive when you have younger kids! Now the down side: the food. While the oasis bar in the waterpark did the trick and more then adequate for beach food (pizza, nachos, burgers dogs etc), the breakfast was quite upsetting. At 18.99 a person you have to expect decent food. The reality borders on offensive. The dishes were dirty (I had to sort though 5 plates to find one without dried food residue), the cereal bowls were all dirty I served my kid cereal out of a coffee mug. Frankly, it was a better use of the mugs as the coffee is awful vending machine coffee and I am not particularly fussy when it comes to my morning coffee but this was just bad and everyone seemed to agree. Watery eggs, canned fruit, limited selection. For the price paid, this could easily be rectified with a little more care and diligence as well as a new coffee maker. Overall, we had a great time and will return for the little ones in till they age into the larger resorts, do yourself a favour though skip the breakfast and DiY in the room or go to IHOP or any of the dinners down the way.
Only went there to have lunch at the Boston Pizza but the food was great and the service was excellent.
Anyone know how you add photos here? I have some pictures that will seriously make you reconsider staying at the Americana!!! One includes bugs we had crawling in our bed, and bites I had when I woke up... Others show how dirty the rooms are... No compensation from the manager. Once I figure out how to post pics, I will be sure to share them!!
Waterpark us great for smaller kids but parking for $22 is crazy. Place is not even near the Falls! !!!
Bought a family pass on groupon and the kids enjoyed the waterpark! There was lots of activities for the kids to do & the staff were very fun & entertaining. There was a lot of chlorine in the hot tub that I could not open my eyes they would not stop crying and stinging because the fumes from chlorine were too much, I had to get out. But I enjoyed the rest of the park with the kids. It's a bit small so it does get crowded easily. Toddler area was fun for my 15 month old. She loved it! Good for most ages :) we enjoyed our visit & will visit again.
I had a great time during my visit here, my only complaint is that the room was too hot and dry, my nose bled every morning.
One old lady Staff in whater park was so rude she was tryed tack baby during , wath the f
Excellent resort for family. Great snack bar. Just don't wear your favourite swimsuit unless it is white. The pool is highly chlorinated and bleaches out the swimsuit colours. They could do better about the noise levels in the early mornings. Not sure if it because of them getting the water park ready for the day. Other than that, great place for kids and adults too. Great family fun.
Great facility and fun water park for younger kids, food and extras are mad expensive
They're good wedding. Good was great and a good place for the ceremony.
The staff was amazing and very helpful. They do need an ice machine and more then two stations on the TV. Overall we've had a wonderful time.
Worse place. Rude staff. Pls be careful when you make reservations over the phone. Each staff give you different quote. It's not worth it at all. I will recommend skyline. Excellent place.
If I could give it NO STARS I WOULD
Felt extremely unappreciated .. My son is autistic with sensory issues .. He ripped his band off and when we went to get a new one so he could enjoy himself , Linda at the front desk with the short spiky hair refused to give me one .. The cost of the room was ridiculous and my reservation clearly stated 4 wrist bands . The clerks at the desk were also advised that it might happen . I was told just come and get a new one .
LINDA told me I had to pay for more wristbands . At several hundreds of dollars form the room i wasnt payng again for what I had already paid for multiple times over .. We packed up and left . My son in tears HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! SHAME ON YOU !!!!! YOU RUINED IS VACATION..
in response .. i asked for a manager on duty but I was told there was no one available , So now on top of the extremely poor treatment I was being lied to .. good to know 280 people have reviewed this
We really like coming here. Priced well and the kids love it. Will be back again
Nice hotel and waterpark on Lundy's lane. Clean. Has a Boston Pizza attached.
Nice place for our little family, my daughter is almost 3 years old, she had a blast there, lots for her to do. There is a fresh co right beside. It, so its very convenient to get food and beer.
Was in a middle lower level room. Lots of foot traffic till about 10pm. Clean room for family of four. Wave pool and slides were great. Boston Pizza a good dinner place and bar. There even offered the kids a room to play mini sticks so they were safe and could have fun.
trying to understand the resort fee they charge which i was told was for using their wifi and towels! It says wifi is free and the connection was horrible. Never saw a resort fee charged anywhere we stayed before and think it just a way to gauge customers even more on top of room rates and parking fees.
A very nice hotel right on Lundy's Lane and just minutes from the falls and other attractions. It is capable of hosting large gatherings and medium sized conferences.
The Room was Nice and clean. Friendly staff. water park was good and friendly with young children.
Very disappointed first of all i was over charged meaning expensive for what i have seen.
Pool was dirty and rusty our room was smelly.
I donot recommend it.
Good place to hav fun . Water is clean, staffs are good, but I hate their locker system..had to open my locker multiple times for various reasons and had to pay each time I opened it
Good for families with kids under 10. Older kids may be bored.
The food, the setting and the hospitality were second to none! I look forward to coming back
Thankfully the wifi signal is currently strong enough for me to post this review...MIDSTAY! That's right. I'm so happy being at the Americana that I couldn't wait to let the world know just how Boss this place is. Two beds in a room? Check. Toilet? Check. Window overlooking a sweet parking lot? Check. Boston Pizza that delivers to your room? Check! 5 dollar coffee? Check! Forgotten rotten pepperettes hiding behind a lamp? Check! All your visual and comforting needs are met at this moderately priced hotel. Keep your eye out for the killer water park that's built right inside the hotel! Grab your flip flops and whatever children you have for some wild rides down the slides. Hold your breath (but not for too long!) in the wave pool. Thankfully when a youngling dropped a deuce in the pool, proper policy and procedure took place. The pool was shut down for a time deemed long enough to rid the contamination, and everyone carried on as if it never happened. Tons of fun for everyone!
It was crazy busy no one could barely move and they wanted to charge significantly extra because it was March break. We decided we wouldn't pay that and left.
This place is where u and yo family should spend a weekend from!
Maid service was horrible. Only came in and changed our towels. Never made our beds or vacuumed. Had to call the front desk for them to actually come at all on the second day.
Always a great place for meetings and conferences. Service is always great. Food is a bit pricey for portions though.
Very nice property with a large water area for children
Was there this past weekend with my family. The water park was great and clean. Our room was updated and clean. The only negative is the result from all the chlorine. Even after following the recommendations for shower before and after leaving the pool I still walked away with a rash from the chlorine. I even showered again once getting back to my room and rinsed my swimming shorts. My legs are very raw and actually started to bleed today. To add I wasn t the only one to get a rash. Do everything you can to avoid this happening to you. It isn t pleasant.
Great family place. Slides were a blast. Wasn't very busy. Prizes could be better in the arcade.
Been there a hand full of times now, great spot for the kids, staff is super nice. Having BP right there is nice. Also right beside the hotel is a grocery store.
Nice and clean and the kids enjoyed the water park very much.
There were no kids channel or water pressure , but actual reason I'm giving one star ,hotel manager s ( two of them man and women ) walked into my room when I had a do not disturb sign hanging on door, well it's your f$&@ job to know or when you see a sign at least call and find out , so it was very rude , good thing I wasn't naked
I like this place and i went their many times, but this time my wife dress got stolen in the changeing room while she was taking a shower
Went to my nieces wedding that was held there hall was nice rooms were disgraceful had to move rooms just put up with second room (ridiculous) staff was rude everyone in the lobby was complaining how dirty the rooms was Niagara Falls should do
it s self a favour and bull doze the Americana resort to the ground DO NOT STAY HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY
Alot of stuff to do within the hotel Like the water park. Convenient having Boston pizza in the hotel!
I have kids aged one, three, and four and the waterpark does not have much for that age group to enjoy. The water was dirty and cold, even though they said they kept the water warm. Certain sitting areas around the waterpark were freezing cold. The snack bar by the pool was understaffed on a weekend and had poor service. The token machine at the arcade didn't work. The rooms were a good size. No safes in our room. I have been to a few waterparks in Niagara and I would not go back to this one.
Rooms are very outdated, no complimentary soap, shampoo, lotion or water had to ask the front desk. Games room has old games and half of them don't work. Water park was fine though. Would not stay here again
Was very good hotel. Everyone had fun. Waterpark was good but it was too cold for the kids. Only had bad experience when we check out. The recipient lady was taking for ever and was rude. Other than that all is well
The room was good and the breakfast buffet was convenient
Been there so much as while I was a kid and every time I loved it, Waterpark is great and good marketing idea of making the arcade in front if the path to the waterpark
Had a great time with a group of 26 people. Rooms were very adequate. The waterpark was a lot of fun (more balls for the water basketball please lol). The waterslides were fun. Will definitely visit again in the future. Lots of parking availability. Close proximity to Clifton Hill and all of the other attractions Niagara has to offer.
It suited our needs adequately, none of our reunion needed the water park.
Went to a wedding here. The wedding and reception were great and the food was delicious. The room had bedbugs. Couldn't sleep in because there are kids running and screaming all throughout the hotel. It smells like chlorine throughout. People and children running through the hotel in bathing suits. The Boston pizza here is terrible. Bad service, terrible food, food portion was about half of what I've been served at other BP's, and it took forever to get any food or drinks.
Quiet hotel. Comfortable room. And a great water park ..... Do not forget your jersey
Great for family trips with the kids. Located close to highway and restaurants.
Waterpark is great for the little ones. Otherwise pretty average.
Great venue we.love attending dance competitions here.
Water park was ok, but Unfriendly staff at the front desk. Room was not to clean. The microwave was dirty, there was some kind of grease in there, i asked cleaning lady to clean it, she said she will come & never showed up. Seems like no one care there. Not going back again.
Everything was good except breakfast was too expensive and not that great. It's a breakfast buffet so we went to get next serve, they cleaned up the table.
Even through its a oops but someone pooped in the swimming pool and we have to be existing immediately. Didn't swim again after all........
Love it... Cheaper than other places with a water park, but clean and quite. 10 mins from the falls. But nice
