Not one to criticise other businesses but these guys are just unbearable. 9 phone calls to try and place an order to be told my account isn't important enough to re-open and unless i spend a certain amount yearly they are not interested. I'm just glad I don't run my business like they do other wise I would have no customers! Customer service skills are terrible. More staff training required I think

I did not used to like anything from here as The quality could be better and from the reviews on here i was not really keen to buy from here.

My friend Martin is a new part time vegan testing it out and seeing how it goes he gets some of his things from here and cooked brunch

i am not a vegan but tried the baked beans from suma and i could not believe how amazing they tasted. no other super market makes the tinned baked beans as creamy and thick and tasty as suma i have tried many many supermarkets and local small shops they are rubbish next to suma baked beans

you have to try the baked beans honestly just give one tin a try and you will know what i mean

i hope suma have not changed any ingredients from the baked beans from last year, you all must be thinking oh wow its just beans but seriously i want to know what sumas secret ingredient is to make it taste sooooo perfect.

baked beans t also reminded me of school dinner when i was 9 years old i never ever tried any food from shops that sell it similar to school dinner

like the cheese flan which is known as quiche in tesco but it is not the same thing i guess , cheese flan is more soggy on the sides but quiche is too crunchy. and cheese flan is bettter

i hope suma do some drinks like a healthier version of lemonade

the sun flower spread is tasty not as nice as butter but it is very nice considering its a vegan option and its healthier than margarine from any other grocery store.

the tinned tomatoes with a hint of chilli is so unique i looked all over sainsburys morrisons tesco lidl to find one similar but no one of those stores can beat the suma version

the suma one does not have basil in it which places like tescos and lidl use if you dont want plain tinned tomatoes

suma taste is NOT BORING but i find tesco sainsburys lidl BORING

not just that suma DO NOT USE PALM OIL in any of their items i have seen so far they are more ethical than sainsburys

they are even more ethical than co op and holland and barret as both those so called eco friendly stores DO SELL PALM OIL which harms many living and trees in forests just to get it and sainsburys had a complaint from me they were supposed to ban palm oil but changed their mind i asked them why did you changed your mind they said because of a high demand but who is the people demanding because most customers dont even know what palm oil is. !!

as long as suma are treating their staff fair and the people who produce the ingredients fair and do not pay 3rd party ( co op . sainsbury and holland and barret pay the middle man ) more money than the farmer and keep it ethical then im a big fan

the only reason im giving a 4 star is because the prices of some items are way too expensive for the size today i paid 4 tins of beans for 6 pounds in local health shop

The new Alter/Native bodycare range is excellent, the gift sets make great presents. The activated charcoal bar is a personal favourite along with the shaving bar, which foams up brilliantly for a smooth and comfortable shave. The whole range is great and smells wonderful.

The lovely team at Suma bailed me out when another supplier let me down. I managed to get the products I needed on an overnight delivery to Cornwall which saved the day. The ladies in the office were fantastic and the delivery guy so pleasant. Excellent service all round. Thanks from Freda's Peanut Butter.

Don't bother with them! They are just not interest...

Don't bother with them! They are just not interested about helping other business. It's always been very difficult to place an order with them. Most of the time, you place your order, then they come back to you saying that some lines are out of stock and then they won't be able to deliver, because it's not enough. When you ask them if they can let you know when things are available, they just don't want. On a few occasion, we spoke to quite rude people with some customer service skills. Anyway, mostly because it's been hard to place some order with them, we've ended up not placing any orders for the past few months. Now, with the pandemic, they just don't want to serve us, because we haven't placed any order recently.... How, would we be able to place an order? Just unbelievable! I'm not saying, because it's a Cooperative they should be much nicer than any other wholesaler, but that doesn't give them any right to be so difficult and even rude. It looks like we are not the only ones here to have the same experience. Unfortunately, because we've mainly had bad experience recently... it doesn't come as a surprise. They are plenty of other good people to work with, if working with nice and helpful suppliers is important for you, then just avoid them. They don't deserve any business at all. Rude and not efficient at all! By the way, shame they is no 0 Star Option, they don't even deserve a single Star!

We have a vegan wholefood shop in Maghull, Merseyside, we were keen to have as ethical suppliers as possible and liked that Suma are a veggie co-op. They stock such a wide range of products of food, toiletries, household products and more. As we are a new business, Suma staff couldn't have been more helpful to us and have guided us every step of the way! From their new business team to their sales staff and our very friendly, helpful driver, everyone has been brilliant and I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to use Suma as their wholesaler!

Hi all i have tried to discuss a product with suma only there system tells me someone will call me back guess what " NO BODY DOES" out of 160ish staff is there no body in customer services what a poor effort

Called requesting possibility of purchasing samples for their bulk rice, in order to select one that best fits our requirements before we arrange order on regular intervals. Informed that is not possible, quizzed about if this was business order or not, told minimum delivery requirements ect then redirected to another business. Suma efficiently providing bad service.

It's been a pleasure to deal with Suma, on and off, for around 20 years. I love their mentality, their culture and their products. If they get things wrong, they fix them. Always delivered with a smile.

Hello Suma, thanks for eventually replying to my review, only took you two months! Firstly let me point out that you have not addressed the nature of my complaint, but simply shrugged it off and proceeded to praise yourselves and the good job you are doing in the midst of COVID-19, alas I have been trying to open an account for many months before COVID was even a thing! You have no excuse for this behaviour!
As previously stated, that stance you guys have towards small businesses is appalling, forcing us to buy your products from smaller wholesalers who purchase from you and resell at a crazy markup, so I guess for you it s all and only about the money, my best guess is that you all vote for the tories.

They don t care about small businesses, I ve been trying to open an account for months now and they keep telling me that because they are experiencing a high level of demand for their services they keep declining, they do deliver to other shops up the road but I guess we are too small and unimportant for them to be bothered. Surely business cannot be only about how much money one can spend, but seeing some of the other reviews I guess I m just better off.

let's hope after the problems of the last 4 months the wholefood sector as a group come together and find ways to solve these issues in an honest and creative ways. Whilst its one thing to be panicking at the end of March, but to be in the same situation late July you have to face up to some big problems need sorting which others food retailers have already found a way through

One does not want to be" biting the hand that feeds you" but when there is an actually failing on that score, hopefully when I try to place an order in the future,I won't be disappointed to be greeted with "we are sorry we cannot take an order from you"

starting by finding the real causes and not just complacently pinning them solely on the pandemic, which obviously has caught us all out to some extent, but this goes beyond that I feel, resulting in a much more extreme situation

lets not forget you've done a good job over the years, , but have perhaps looked after yourselves too well with a degree of complacency with the workers cooperative, taking eyes off the ball, overlooking the customer, in my case over 35 years,s.

the wasted chance to satisfy the increased demand by "changes to buying habits" which has instead isolated those potential new customers and forced this long standing account holder to look a the supermarket sector to provide their needs can't be overlooked

Called to place an order today and man in sales says need product code, I explained I didnt have it... wow his response was so rude, someone needs reminding he is a big nothing far too much attitude. Shame. Wont be using them again.

Reading comments below it seems the staff all have either an overinflated ego or are just incapable of doing much.
