Our daughter recently held her wedding reception at the Americana, and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the venue, the food, and the absolutely phenomenal service. Well done!
Our daughter recently held her wedding reception at the Americana, and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the venue, the food, and the absolutely phenomenal service. Well done!
Well where do I begin the statement ie their motto you matter does not really translate to the room and condition of the room. I found the previous guests clothes in my room which I had to dispose of, the wall paper in the bathroom was coming off and finally the towels are no bigger than a face cloth. Oh speaking of face clothes I used one and could actually see my hand through it no joke. Perhaps if you want to charge $250 a night you might get your act together. I saw a hotel sign across the street stating $39.99 a night that is all the hotel is worth. One final comment wear shoes everywhere in your room floors are disgusting. I will never recommend nor stay at an Americana hotel in the future.
I go there for the waterpark(who doesn't?). The rides are fun, but what I enjoy most is the wave pool.
Sadly everything else was mediocre. The hotel room smells, but the beds are very comfy.
If you want to go to the gym during your stay, not much exercise equipment variety was added. Most of it is with elliptical gear, and some do not work. The buffet, you better not take. The price for 4 adults cost $70+ (Just a heads up).
Overall, I don't want to be too critical, so I gave this place a rating of 3 star. Since the park was the signature part of my trip.
The water park was nice, heated facilities, fun slides with tubes, and comfortable hot tub. The room was spacious. The critique was that the only soap/shampoo in the rooms was liquid kind in a wall dispenser - no soap bars or shampoo bottles provided.
Family friendly hotel.Kids will like the water park for sure.
The amenities at the hotel are good and especially so if you visit with kids. Waterpark's temperature is regulated well enough for even toddlers to comfortably enjoy. The staff are ok. Bathroom was very clean but room smelt musty and of stale smoke. Food from the restaurant at the waterpark took about 30 minutes longer than we were told it would take.
For the price it was a good deal. The water park was a lot smaller than I imagined but was adequate for my 4 year old. The wave pool was fun as well. The rooms were extremely basic but we barely spent any time in the room so that didn't matter much. What did bother me was the shower that kept switching between warm and luke warm and the towels provided in the washroom were tiny. Overall an enjoyable experience for my son
Could have been a star less if the kids didn't have much fun in the waterpark. Minor inconveniences in the hotel like no safe box in the suite, the mattresses might be done for, the electrical outlets are loose. The staff to me were courteous and professional, I recommend the clock be moved higher and facing the back of the waterpark. I don't mind going back with the kids.
If I could give a thumbs down I would! This hotel is disgusting. A child from Africa would not want to sleep in it if given the chance. The staff is rude, their are bugs in the room, out dated dirty rooms. If I can make a suggestion go to the sheraton you will be able to use their water park as well with no dead bugs or dirt floating around the pool. Absolutely would never recommend this hotel not even to my worst enemy.
My daughters 3 years and 1 year old had a lot of fun. It's safe place for young kids
I came with my family .My kids have fun in the water park.as the water is so warm and clean. They had also fun in the arcade games. . The room was clean and the beds were comfy but the furniture is old .The curtains were (soo light)not blocking the sun in the early morning and that was not comfortable for us fir better sleep we found only one piece of toilet paper for 6 people for two nights stay.
Good price for the quality and the options you will have for a whole family package.
It was written on the website of the resort that the room has a coffee maker but it actually does not.
The location of the resort is good as it very close to grocery store and alit of restaurants options.
It is also only 10 minutes to the falls .
Looks good on the outside until you see the quality of the rooms inside. The wi-fi sucks!
Place isn t good . Very limited everything . Breakfast isn t included even in the most expensive room . And it costs 17$ per person . Plus breakfast is poor in options . I would recommend trying Falls view .parking is extra .for the kids the arcade sections prizes are a lame. While places like cineplex have xbox etc this guys have dolarams toys .
Nice and comfy bedrooms, very clean everything, good service and polite people.
I was a bit underwhelmed by the facility, compared to the pictures online, but my son had a blast. Couple of concerns, the was no one who seemed to know where we show/buy tickets to the park. We asked 3 people and none knew the answer, so in theory you could walk in without paying. Online it says no phones, outside food or puddle jumpers, and we saw plenty. We had a great time, but it seems like the staff/management just don't seem to follow through.
The water in the water park was cold.... and the breakfast wasn't included. I paid for a room with breakfast included and it wasn't, the gave me butcher with 30 dollars off so i have to paid the difference and not body told me about that....
The lifeguards know what they're doing. I like the fact that this hotel hired responsible teenagers. But the down side was the gift shop, there was no one when we got there. We waited for ten minutes just to validate our waterpark pass.
I thought it would be better. I had high expectations from other reviews.
Great family place. There all you can eat breakfast buffet is great.
We were there for a work Christmas function. They packaged together with the Boston Pizza, and it was a great time, food was great. The hotel and the waterpark were both great.
The kids enjoyed the waterpark but it was wildly expensive and the staff seem to think its the only option around.
The staff were nice and helpful. The kids enjoyed their time at the water park. Parking is steep at $20 a night. For comparison, you can park all day in the entertainment core of Clifton Hills for $15. The rooms need a fair bit of work. Our room had the carpet ripped away which exposed the nail strip. Additionally, the handles for one of the drawers had fallen off and appeared to be that way for a period of time. It's possible that I got the short end of the stick and ended up with the worse room they had. We may consider visiting the water park again, but perhaps staying at a different hotel.
Our hockey team was in the Niagara area for a tournament and the Americana was the perfect place to stay. The indoor water park, basket ball courts and play ground are fantastic places to play between games for the kids and the on-site Boston Pizza restaurant is very convenient. Each room has a fridge an microwave making our stay comfortable and easy.
Nice, cozy water park for family in winter. They also have large bedrooms with 4 double, queen and even sofa beds - suitable for many families together.
Waterpark was okay with 2 tube slides and 2 body slides. Everything is close together, great for parents with young children.
I travelled for business for over 25 years, and this is the first negative hotel review I've ever written. Our biggest concern was with their predatory business model. Staff were polite, but unable/unwilling to do anything to resolve stark discrepancies between the specifications on Expedia, and what we received. Their best offer was to have us pay an extra $40 to get what we had already paid for. Needless to say, we declined.
I have no idea how this facility got 3 stars. The beds were clean and comfortable, the wifi worked, and the parking was convenient. That's about all the positives I can think of. The TV reception took me back to about 1968. The minimalist waterpark reeked of chemicals, and the adjoining snack bar was unclean. The restaurant was overpriced and the food mediocre. The front desk sold us Wego tickets clearly marked as complimentary. I could go on and on...
Management and staff are absolutely useless, unprofessional and not very helpful at all. If you want an enjoyable time with your family and friends, I'd suggest going the distance and paying the extra money for the quality and service at Great Wolf Lodge. You definitely get what you pay for! I'm absolutely appalled with the way my husband was treated and no one could ever convince me to stay here. The place lacks class as far as the staff and management are concerned and need some lessons in how to deal with clients and remembering that the customer is always right to ensure the experience is pleasing to the guest and will hopefully ensure the business a return stay. So effing ridiculous
Very nice waterpark and rooms. Terrible breakfast that is offered by restaurant.
We got discount tickets to come back again this year! We love the pool, waves, arcade, slides, and hot tub.
The facility was good for the kids. My issue was the Groupon I purchased for the facility. Upon check in, Americana ambushed me with facility fees (per person), taxes on the Groupon and then taxes on the facility fees. We ended up not saving a dime. Very frustrating.
Michael the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Resort are clean and well maintained, slides are awesome. Great experience, for sure I will come back again.
I visited the Americana with my husband and our two children 9 and 5 in December 2018. We stayed in room number 141. It had 2 queen beds and a set of bunk beds along with a table and chair set. The room its self was a bit worn and in need of minor updates. The bunk bed was so noisy with each movement it made, my children and myself hardly slept. The queen size beds were fairly comfortable and seemed to be in good shape. Having a mini fridge and microwave in the room were our own little blessing. We did not need any help from the front desk or other staff during our very short stay. I can say those at the front desk were friendly. The arcade games are worn but they work and my children and occasionally my husband and myself enjoyed them. The amount of tickets per game seems fair but the prizes are complete trash. In the end we ended up spending $50 at the arcade and came home with a few extra small erasers, a broken paper type airplane and a plastic popper happy face. The waterpark we loved and it's also the reason we continue to stay here. My boys love every inch of the park. I love that its clean, lifeguards everywhere, life jackets are supplied and water slides for the small kids to the adults. I dislike the lack of tables and chairs especially during the weekends. We had our dinner at Boston Pizza and have no compliments other than the price but that's Boston Pizza for you. We did enjoy the breakfast buffet in the morning and it was very yummy. Not a lot of different options but enough to fill your plate and belly. All in all we did enjoy our trip as a family of 4 and my reason for the 5 star rating. Some minor upgrades would be nice but they are not major enough to stop us from future visits.
good place to have fun with your kids.. safety wise life guards everywhere.
Rooms were clean, a little outdated. Staff was very friendly. Water-park is small but was perfect for our young kids. Would probably go to a bigger park for older kids, but we'll be back to this park again with our littles!
nice rooms, kids loved the water park, great for younger kids, will definitely go back
Good water park but pricey. No free parking included in the price of your stay which is annoying considering how far it is away from the falls.
Expensive, lots of added fees, but the service is great, brought 2 kids on the water park they had lots of fun, hard to find parking at night time,,,clean.
Very nice place. Great amenities, rooms, decor. Awesome staff, fun pool, nice restaurants in house. We'll have to try the Spa next time. This is a great place to have a weekend, vacation...in 1 facility.
I was there for a summit and spent a lot of time in there grande conference area. The rooms are good. Food is great. And the servers are really nice.
Rooms were nice and the restaurants on site were pretty good as well. The "water park" was an exaggeration though and has less features than my local pool. Just a small pool that goes up to 5 feet, a couple slides for kids, and a hot tub. And we couldn't use the pool because someone took a dump in it. The only response the management gave was to say "these things happen". Wouldn't go back again, the nice parts don't make the room rates worth it.
Very nice place. The water park makes it a very nice family hotel. Has an arcade and Boston Pizza. Minutes from everything else. Would highly recommend.
If I could rate this trash "resort" lower I would. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Very overpriced for what you're getting. Very outdated rooms and bathrooms. And filthy. The rooms were gross. Had a complaint about the pillow having yellow stains on them, took three hours to get there. Two people who with us became very ill and vomited on the floor, called up and asked for someone to mop up the mess after my wife cleaned most of it, which is rightfully so. So they want they mopped the floor was by spraying the floor and using their feet with a dirty towel. I was appalled. I complained about a number of things, and basically told they didn't care. The front desk manager with the white hair is extremely rude. I cannot begin to understand how she works in customer service. Fridge was broken in our rooms. Both of them. Then the manager blamed us that it was us that broke it when there was pool of water there on the floor. Main reason we asked to have it cleaned. Once we came back the floors were vacuumed? Just look at the pictures I've posted this was after they mopped and vacuumed. Pathetic They didn't have another room for us at the time to move.
Now the water park, smelled putrid, then the day after went there again and the chlorine was burning my eyes just sitting there. There is only two slides.., the pictures online are very misleading. Super small. The fallsview waterpark is way better for the price. Its cheaper and way better never ever had an issue there.
The games in the arcade worked 50% of the time. And the rest were broken down. When the machines ate our tokens, they questioned us in a rude way and only gave us one token for a two token game. When asked why? They said they're only allowed to give one back. No wifi.... even though they stated online "hi-speed internet " please.
The front desk people are horrible customer service reps. And ive noticed the owners replying to all the reviews. Don't bother to ask us to give you a second chance. The ONLY reason we were stuck there was because we were there for a dance competition and there was no refunds. GO TO THE FALLSVIEW WATERPARK way better all around!
It's just ok. Would have liked to see the water park open sooner. My kids get up 7 and the the water park opens at 10. Long time to wait. Also the chlorine in the pool is ridiculously high. But all in all it was still a fun weekend
Went to the pool and slide only 2 slide open and the water left us red and itching was less than expected would not go back
Dirty and way too smal. Too much chlorine in the water....my eyes hurt soo much. The water was way too cold. Will never go back.
This is by far the worst hotel ever! We checked in at 3:00, and forced us to check out at 11:00 AM the hotel is small and very depressing. Bad staff. NOT WORTH THE MONEY
If anyone wants to stay here always before while making a booking inquire about resort how there rooms are and if they have BEDBUGS as one of my relatives with her family stayed there and had problems with them in her room. Also do an over all check how clean the place is.
The waterpark was great for younger kids but older kids would be bored quickly. The rooms need to be cleaned better. We are a black family with curly hair and we found multiple strands of blonde and brunette straight hair on the bed under the sheets and attached to the duvet. Our heater stopped working the second night and we were given a stand alone one but with a 1 and 3 year old walking around we were afraid to use. We were offered another room but having to pack up everything with 3 young kids on such short notice was not doable. This is our second time here but after the hair thing, my faith in the cleanliness is non-existant. Plus our room wasn't cleaned at all for the 2 nights we spent there. The lady came around 10am the first morning and we were not ready yet so we asked her to come back but she did not so we had to flag someone down to get fresh towels.
Went here for a dance competition, which was nice, but it appears (from what I heard from multiple people) (and from multiple studios) that only the front lobby is very nicely cared for, I heard the same complaint from everyone I talked to; "dirty" and "smelly" WOW a dirty, smelly, room starting at $200 a night? I heard one person say his bill was closer to $1000 for the weekend and his room was "horrible." So do yourself a favour and drive up the street to the Ramada!!!
I must admit, I was extremely nervous about staying here after reading some of the bad reviews, however I must admit the rooms were very clean, staff was courteous. My family had a good time. Would definitely return.
Although we've been here many times with the kids, the hotel rooms are getting dated and some parts of the hotel have a "smell." It's good family fun at the water park but the life guards need to make sure they're always at their stations. With some upgrades and modernizing I'm sure it'll continue for many years to come. Overall it's the budget choice waterpark for Niagara when comparing to Fallsview and Great Wolf Lodge... And it was because of the budget that we chose Americana this time.
Only one day in so far. But I got the wrong room. Refused to let me pay for an upgrade so everyone can have beds( even though I phoned ahead and got a room upgrade over the phone before I came ) , check in for us was 4pm check out supposed to be 10 am. Been sitting up awake tired since 600 am because there is a party in the hallway grinding and banging and screaming right outside our door. Definitely speaking to management today.
The staff were friendly, and efficient. The girl itself is dated and is in desperate need of upgrading. They don't provide sugar or creamer for your coffee, and the shower offered a soap dispenser in the wall, that it's apparently an all in one shampoo, conditioner and body wash. It seems that in an effort to save money, they have lost touch with the true hotel experience.
I received an email that says "Characters appear all week long". There is Spider-Man, Elsa, etc, but dates were not specified. I called to confirm and the manager and receptionist have no idea as to when. I asked the reception to confirm with marketing and I was told "they have not decided as to when characters will appear".
Hey guys, how about decide on the event date and details first before sending out promotional emails?? Or it may be a good idea to put it in the email itself??
What if I book and announce to my kid that his favorite character will be there (because email says so), and be surprised with nothing. This was the only reason why we were going to book.
Beware of these events, call their office first. Oh, also do not be surprised if their office have no idea on what's going on. Disappointing.
Someone else enter my room. I reportrd it the front desk clerk did not apologie and did not want to rekey my lock.
Clean hotel. Nice little restaurant. Great water park for kids under 10.
I m really confused at the negative reviews. We spent the night here, and had a great time! The check in was fast, and our room was ready before the 4pm check in time. We got the 2 bedroom suite, and it was extremely clean and was ideal for giving the kids their own area. We ate at Boston Pizza, and it was delicious and reasonably priced. The waterpark was clean, and kept 3 14 year old boys occupied for hours. While it is smaller than Splash Lagoon or Great Wolf Lodge, it is considerably less expensive, and is perfect if you are looking for a quick getaway. The only issue I guess I could have if you want one, is that I find it strange to charge $20 to park in their lot, especially if you are already paying for a room. But to me that s minor. This place was great!
Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Beds seemed smaller than advertised. Water park is great for young kids
The wave pool was kind of small. I would recommend going to the Great World Lodge that was nearby. Have to pay for parking separately.
We brought our 3 year old there for her b day. Was great, service for food/drinks was slow. Understaffed during week. Overall great experience
We only visited the water park so I can't rate the hotel. The wait to get our passes to get into the park was long, after we signed the paperwork she directed us to change rooms but never said anything about getting towels at the desk so I had to walk back through dripping wet which was freezing to sign them out. When I went in to use the women's washroom there was some sort of blue fan running which made the bathroom so cold when you entered from the poolside wet. The water park itself area was great my family and I had a blast the only thing was the horrible draft coming through the window/doors by our table.
I visited the Americana to go to their spa to enjoy a 55 minute massage and a pedicure and it was amazing! Felt super luxurious and relaxing ! Would go back in a heartbeat
Cheap resort, dirty carpet. Note that they keep your credit card on file long after you leave. My credit card info (along with expiry date) was actually passed by the hotel to UPS, who was contracted to mail me some personal items we accidentally left in the room.
The reception also kept record of my driving license (unlike other hotels in Canada, which only look at it to verify your name).
I will never visit this hotel again, and recommend others to stay away from this place.
Just came back from a 1 night stay at the Americana and we liked it. Went there with my wife and 2 kids ages 8 months and 2.5 years.
Room; I booked a double queen superior room that was the same price as the standard. Spacious but wasn't clean under the beds, my house cleaning tip reflected that.
Restaurant; Jack Tanners was under construction so they set up a breakfast buffet in the conference room. Our $30 voucher covered our breakfast which was pretty standard. Was disappointed with the microwaveable bacon but at $12 a head and who knows what their new cooking facility is like, I'll forgive them this time.
The Waterpark; was fine truth be told. Water was warmer then blood temp so the kids won't get cold, it was busy there but not crowded, my kids really enjoyed the kiddy pool. I didn't get to indulge in the water slide, wave pool, or the jacuzzi...maybe next time. My only complaint was not enough seating areas.
My main complaints about Americana. I wasn't crazy about the layout, all entrances other then the main lobby has a ramp and my kids were in a 2 seater wagon. I understand they don't want big deliveries and stuff coming through the front but it made checking in a little harder. Then you've got the hall behind the lobby lined with rooms and it splits at the end into a T where you park depends in which side of the T your room is...again, a little inconvenient.
All in all, a good experience here and I would come back mostly because its cheaper then GWL which was $400/night and Skyline at $250/night around the same time when I got Americana for $180/night. Might try Skyline because of it's proximity to the falls if that is important to you but I have a car so no biggy for me.
Awesome
Io
Neat and clean. Well informative and friendly staff. Water park full of fun for children and parents.
Room was nice, water park was a lot of fun with kids. Would be nice if it opened sooner or check out was later. Felt rushed in the morning.
Water park is great for kids 10 and under, staff are friendly and the facilities are clean. Rooms and decor are extremely dated. The arcade is a joke. A lot of machines are out of order and some of them aren't labelled so they just steal your tokens. For over $350 for a single night they really should be investing in hotel improvements. I think this will be our last time here.
We checked in with our family into three rooms recently and thought the rooms were quite pleasant. The parking for $20 was really high considering there is plenty of place around and it was an out site parking. Quite a cash grab! The waterpark is plenty of fun for the kids and there's a nice spa to pamper yourself on the second floor.
We had a great time! Staff was very welcoming and helpful
We can't wait to go back. We were treated like royalty.
Could have been better if the ice machine wasnt basically in our room. Woke our baby up at when someone used it.
It's no where near the strip. Waterpark is small but for the price it's a great value. Would go again for a night or two, nothing longer. Kids will get bored after 2 night stay.
I will fully describe my experience in a day or two when I get home
Great sport for a family getaway with a little one, a little on the loud side but not to be unexpected with a water park and this many families staying here.
Highlight was seeing parents on their balcony ripping bong hits after the kids went to bed.
