Terranea Resort Review

We came for the view, and lunch. This is a fantastic place to see the California coast! The food was amazing too. Also, excellent service!

Customer service was great! Everyday we were greeted with smiles and friendly staff. The landscape is very gorgeous! It was a peaceful and beautiful get away.

Beautiful hotel, relaxing, excess to outdoors activities, beautiful scenery.

Way over priced
We were forced to pay almost $100 for nachos and a few drinks.
Total rip off. Not worth it.

Terranea resort locale has a wealth of hiking and biking trails, amazing coastal views and wildlife.

Beautiful view of the ocean and coves from out room balcony. Well kept bathrooms. Very comfy bed. Very spacious and cozy at the same time.

Great place to meet friends for drinks and light apps while watching the "sun melt into the sea" as Jimi would say.

My favorite 5 star property of all time! Staff is hospitable and views are amazing!

Have gone only twice and each time was for the spa. The massages were great and the facilities and well. We will keep coming here

Great location but looking a bit long in the tooth. Rooms disappointing in relation to rates charged. Needs a transfusion of capital and inspiration.

Gorgeous resort! I highly recommend going and visiting if in the area! Go walk around the beautiful trails, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the wonderful views! Staff are very kind and helpful! The resort is kept very nice and clean! Valet parking waa made easy and quick!

Quick ride along the coast. Shooter nice coffee place outside the resort. Super friendly staff. Delicious coffee. Fantastic atmosphere. Awesome views (when there is no marine layer).

Very good value and especially welcome to advise without moderation with the sea view, come before noon because no reservation possible ...

The staff were all incredibly kind and professional. It was an absolutely gorgeous area and the trails were great. My warning to those sharing a room is the beds categorized as queen are definitely NOT queen beds; they are full at best, which made for an uncomfortable stay for four nights.

Went to Nelson's for the outside music and food they have every month. Loved it!

Terrenea is a beautiful resort full of amazing things if you have the money to pay for it.

Phenomenal resort, very well maintained. All staff no matter their role is very friendly and helpful. They all seem truly delighted to be working there. Absolutely beautiful location.

The resort is a stunning property. I loved the pools and walking trails. My room was the reason for the two stars. The room was on the first floor and the water from the bathroom sink smelled like sewer. Three maintenance engineers looked at the problem but were unable to fix it. The hotel was fully booked of the style of room I had so there were was not an option to change rooms. They wouldn t upgrade. Free bottles of water were offered so I could brush my teeth. There were stains on the carpet and on the cloth bed frame. I was disappointed with the room given the price. The staff was nice and the restaurants decent. Bashi was my favorite. I enjoyed the lecture about the hawks who help keep the area free of seagulls and crows by scaring them off.

I have mixed feelings about staying here again.

The place has a beautiful view. They have flora that makes it look like you are in Hawaii.

We did not stay in a room but came for a photo session. The resort is beautiful, great location and beautiful architecture.

Gorgeous location, but you're definitely paying for the view when you go for lunch at the restaurant. That said, the food was good with a nice selection of varied options. The long wait did seem a bit engineered though, as there were multiple open tables throughout our "45 minute" wait.

Where heaven and earth meet. This place is just beautiful. The Palisades used to be an island so most of this place is just amazing. Many movies and famous shows were filmed here. Plus the location facilities are relatively new.

Beautiful resort, nice scenery, great atmosphere. Ocean front, clean air. Feels like you are in nature and away from the real world.

Always a five star experience from the moment you hand over your keys at the valet, to the last sip of a good wine after a delicious dinner. Everything is always perfect.

This is a true paradise for people who want to enjoy the gulf course, luxury spas, and the delicious food!
However, the price tag is high, so save it for special occasions, unless you are a celebrity from all over the world, or just pretend to be the celebrity from the surrounding areas; )
However, the view is free and the atmosphere is relaxing and tranquilizing, and you can really enjoy the reflection you have there.

The best spicy margarita I've had!! The fish tacos were delicious, but that margarita!! I'll be back

A wonderful hotel with tremendous infrastructure. Worth tb the visit for non guests to enjoy the restaurants and cafe. Great ice creams.

Went to the Lobby bar for some drinks and the sunset. Wendy took care of us and provided great service. The view of the property and the water was phenomenal.

Terranea has nice, easily accessible walking trails open to the public.

The all American luxury resort near the ocean in gorgeous, Rancho Palos Verdes, have a golf club, 3 different kind of pools and even a man made Beach, obviously useful during spring and summer time if you plan to go into the water, unless you use a wetsuit of course.
Good bar and friendly attendants that make you feel like if they know you from a long time ago, so try it

Difficult to find way around. We went to visit the beach area and parking was very difficult to find. Even valet required a purchase from one of the restaurants at the resort unless you wanted to pay $20 for parking.

Beautiful view. Docents were available to explain things. Saw dolphins off the coast.

The room was great! Marvelous location! The veiw was breath taking. The adult pool bar (Cielo), however, was sub-par. We tried to order a mojito from the "full bar" and there was no mint. Then, we ordered a Blue Moon and there was no orange. Upon checkout, the woman at the concierge desk was not helpful. We love to experience culture everywhere we go and food is a big part of that. When we asked if there were any food locations close to the hotel the concierge said there was nothing in the area. We found a few nice places just a mile away. Go figure.
All in all a good experience minus a few small hiccups.

I had dinner at Terranea. Service and food is very good, excellent wine selection. Views are amazing at sunset, Catalina Island is quite visible - it feels like you're far away from LA. The grounds are nice as well. Price is high - about $450 before tip for five people. Nice for a special occasion.

our first time at Terranea was fantastic! We enjoyed a nice lunch with friends at Nelson's. The staff were polite and attentive. Food was good. Drinks were better....but aren't they always? After lunch the walk on the grounds grounds proved to be evemtful; more appealing restaurants, numerous pools, plenty of vantage points with 180 views of the Pacific. There was plenty of room/space/privacy no matter where we ventured. This was surprising to me considering we were told they had 5 full weddings today ( a Saturday ). We already planned our next trip back. This time we are staying a might it two!!

Went to Nelson's for food and drinks on Easter. No wait. View is really pretty. Service is mediocre. Food was great and mixed drinks were good.

Paradise along the coast of metropolitan LA. Beautiful place to relax when you want to get away without really getting away. Food, golf, pool, spa, raw nature, and sunsets as a combination cannot be beat.

Not a bad place to stay if you don't mind the location being so out of the way

Great happy hour deals! Split a flat bread and got a couple drinks each for $30. The servers were attentive and really nice as well. Probably helped that it was slow, but I'm thankful for the experience.

High quality hotel set on a picturesque cliff - perfection.

We were treated like royalty. Staff top notch. Handed me a glass of champagne when I checked on. Bed the most comfortable I've ever slept in.

The setting is absolutely beautiful and the resort itself is very nice - comfortable rooms, helpful and friendly front desk staff. However for the price and prestige, the restaurants are all lacking and the service was inconsistent at best and slow and inattentive at worst. On our second night, we tried Nelson's who estimated 9 p.m. as its earliest seating - not a good option when traveling with a 2 year old. We moved on to Bashi who informed us they didn't have any seatings. At that point, we asked to just place a takeout order but they wouldn't take those either. Not the kind of hospitality you'd expect from a high priced resort. Fed up, we finally went to the front desk to inform them of our issue in finding food and they called Bashi who agreed to let us place a take out order from the bar. While we were waiting, I looked around and saw many empty tables, open bar seats, etc. so couldn't understand why they made it seem like they were overbooked. In the end we payed $80 for 3 mediocre noodle dishes.

On the plus side, we enjoyed the grounds. The pool was nice and my son liked the slide and splash pad, even though we had to pay for $16 pink swimmies for him to use it.

I was here for a conference but would hesitate before booking a non-expensed vacation.

How can you not love Terranea. Probably the most relaxing place in the United States. It's impossible to not let your stresses melt away.
