The what the heck? I doubt their knowledge now and my brother wanted to get a custom build from them. Told him id build it myself after this interaction. Will not do business here again. Cheaper online anyways.

While friendly and knowledgeable I purchased a motherboard during the hight in az of the pandemic the board was broken from the manufacturer due to the whole virus thing the receipt was either lost or i never recieved it despite acknowledging that it was likely possible to look up the card transaction and my willingness to take a downgrade just so my son has literally anything for school I was told too bad I'm sorrry but we cant/wont do anything. Was my goto pc/part shop guess ill be switching to newegg/Amazon and will recommend the same for my friends and family.
Very prompt diagnosis and repair of trashed operating system. All data was retrieved and a smooth running desktop was returned to me for exactly the cost that was estimated. I ll use them in the future. Thanks SWS.
I bought two USB dongles for Bluetooth and W-Fi only to learn when I got home and did a little online investigation into the products that they do not work with Linux boxes. This limited compatibility was not clearly labeled. I do not drive by SWS very often, so had these in car to drop off sometime, but then learned from the the receipt ("the fine print") they would not refund purchases after 15 days.
Brick and mortar stores have to try harder to survive in this internet age, and I really prefer to support local shops, but .... screw SWS - next time I need an accessory and expect reasonable customer service I will go online.
SWS is an example of a horrible local business. They are stingy with their policies, they take any opportunity to deny a return or exchange, and generally treat their customers poorly. I recently made a sizable purchase and as we are dealing with a global pandemic I asked for some hand sanitizer from the huge bottle they had on the counter. The clerk denied my request. "Employees only" he snarked.
Well, if you treat your customers like that I doubt you will need to worry about your customers using your precious sanitizer...you won't have any customers.

The people at SWS are the best. Andrew spent close to an hour helping me decide on the hardware that was best-suited for my needs. No up-sale, no pushing, no pressure; he answered all my questions and gave me his personal opinions, without imposing his point of views. Just plain friendly and helpful.Yes, there are lower priced online shops -- but the value of the personal service is priceless, especially when it comes to computer hardware, of which I do not know a whole lot. And yes, their prices at SWS are quite competitive.Very knowledgeable staff, very friendly service, and good prices -- you can't beat that equation !!!
Would be a good store - if it were 2008. I went to SWS to get at least 1 of 2 things: some tube for my watercooling setup, or some multisleeve cables for my graphics card. They had neither. Their excuse for the tube was that "it has so many sizes so it would be difficult to keep track of all them." So in other words, you're lazy? That's not a great mentality. And for the cables, the idiot of a worker said that "cables are designed only for that model power supply." You're wrong. Cables are designed only for some of the power supplies in that BRAND'S line.
Off of that topic, the amount of products you guys have is where you would be viable in 2008. The amount of mouses, monitors, keyboards, motherboards, power supplies, cases and graphics cards available is that of a business just starting up. Heck, you've got more monitor mounts than you do actual monitors. You need more inventory.
Aside from those, you also need to employ people with more knowledge of computers. Just by the one guy that I had tagged to it made me feel like SWS is misleading most of its customers. I don't even mean this sarcastically, but I feel I could legitimately run this business better than it is currently. And I'm 14. It was just a joke talking to that one guy. Also, when I first asked this girl that was working there behind the counter about the water cooling tubes, she had no clue if you guys even carried it and had to ask her chi worker, who was the guy with a huge lack of knowledge to whom I had to talk to.
To whoever runs this place, I'd consider seriously looking over the place and seeing what you can do to change it. I mean this all as a sort of constructive criticism.
Absolutely no help whatsoever on the two things I was trying to purchase and they suggested I go to Best Buy. Next time I won t go there I ll go somewhere else for any questions or purchases
This was my first time coming to SWS and i have to say that everyone went above and beyond my expectations. they had evry part that i needed and when i was not quite sure exactly what i wanted they helped me find exactly what i would need to have an exceptional pc. to anyone looking for parts and exceptionally friendly customer service should consider coming to sws. this is my goto place now when i need help and need parts
Do not go there, l paid to have a computer repaired, they kept it for 2 weeks and did nothing to it at all. Now they are not allowing people to look around inside at the products they sell. It's totally ridiculous, l can look around in tons of stores, but not SWS Computers.
I asked what I thought was a simple question, and they willingly enlightened me on the can of worms I was about to open. They did this WITHOUT trying to push a sale, and even suggested I wait until a newer version of the item in question was released! They want to help, not sell.
Best customer service I've had in a long time! Brandon and Thomas were fantastic! Very knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need or up sell. Would highly recommend these guys!
They are making sales outside of the building so be sure to come knowing what you want. Service for me was quick and easy, I even asked for advice about overclocking and how it works, I got a brief and concise explaination. Overall, it was a good experience.
A great place for all your computing needs. We like coming here for our computer cables. They have lots of different cables at various lengths - all for way less than everywhere else.
The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. I needed a computer repair and they gave me a quote and had it fixed for less money and in less than one day!
I've always recieved excellent advice at SWS for no charge. Which has led me to purchasing a CPU, a motherboard and paying them to put my Ryzen rig together. If I'd gone to SWS in the first place, I would have spent less then I did trying to purchase working, compatible parts from Newegg and assembling them myself.
I had a problem with my laptop just before the start of the semester at the U of A. Worried about how i was going to come up with the money to replace it, I took it to SWS. The store manager Brandon M. saved me time and money by fixing it fast.
I had an issue I couldn't figure out myself so I decided to take it to the boys at SWS. They charged me 50$ to figure out what was wrong and give me an estimate of how much it would cost. I ended up doing the job myself after they told me exactly what was wrong. They also cleaned out my PC (it was pretty dusty) and held it for me for about 5 days. Since they did such a good job with my first visit I decided to go in for a quick clean up for another PC I was going to give to my brother. I went in and talked to a gentlemen named Eric. He helped me out with all the questions I had, about building PCs as well as some concerns I had with the PC I took in. He talking me through all my questions and told me if I wanted I could wait for it to be cleaned, that he would get started right away and it wouldn't take long. He referred me to some PCs I could use while I wait in the store (I was able to study a bit). He called me up and told me that my PC was fine and cleaned it all up nice and on top of that added some screws I was missing that if not replaced would eventually cause a problem in my PC, free of charge! I was very happy with this and started to walk out with my PC. At the door I was getting ready to cover my PC with a sweater since it was raining but without asking one of the employees packed the PC in some bags so it wouldn't get wet. I didn't even ask for them but he helped out. I didn't get his name unfortunately but I appreciate the gentlemen with the spiky hair and glasses who helped me. I then got home and tried to do a full system restore on my PC and ended up messing up somehow. I panicked, I honesty didn't know what I was doing, so I decided to call SWS and ask for Eric. Lucky he was there and he called me down and walked me through the whole process on how to reinstall windows. He honestly saved me a great deal of time and money and I greatly appreciate his outstanding costumer service he went above and beyond for me. He walked me through and I was able to fix my computer. He even told me I could call back if anything else occurred with my PC. I greatly appreciate the boys at SWS and highly recommend them. It might be a high price for diagnostic but your paying for quality and efficient work.
I've recently gone to SWS a couple times in order to buy some replacement parts for my computer, which has been having overheating issues. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. My friend tells me they're overpriced, but I haven't had a problem. Everything seems to be comparable to what I find in online searches.
Been shopping here for years. There really is no equal in Tucson. I am grateful we even have a computer store at all. Great place to buy hardware upgrades, as often they are just sold MSRP everywhere. Might as well buy it here locally and drive home with it.
Easy to get essentials around the PC, gadgets, cheap but good quality cables. It's a fun place to be. Never been let down by them.
Great computer place.. typical specialty shop prices.. THEY DO NOT offer warranties past the one giving when buying a new machine. They did not try to accommodate or suggest where to get a new warranty or offer to upgrade my machine. Ironically.. Bestbuy helped out with a warranty and offered a service plan for the computer i bought at SWS.. guess SWS didnt want my service anymore! Would i shop here again? if i need a particular piece of equipment, sure.
Quickly they say hello, I got to wonder through the store looking for what I needed and was ready to leave when finally an employee on the way to do something else stopped and decided to ask me if I needed anything or help and while helping me allowed another customer to interrupt the help I was getting.
Staff was extremely quick in fixing a drive with data on it. It took less than 20 minutes and they suggested some affordable options for avoiding breaks in the future.
Even a do-it-yourselfer like me runs into trouble sometimes. I fix family computers all the time, but I managed to mess up my Surface Pro 4 beyond repair when I was installing a new driver. Nothing was working, the pen, the screen, the keyboard... I took it in and they offered to diagnose the problem for $40 and fix it for $100. This seemed like a bit much at first, but I needed it fixed. They came back only a few days later and said they could only fix the screen and pen, but would only charge me the $40. It was a good start, so I could at least use the tablet again.
Then when I got home I found out they had actually fixed the keyboard too! So everything was fixed and it was a very good deal. I'll definitely be back next time I get in over my head.
SWS has never let down. By the looks of the negative reviews the only people with an unsatisfactory opinion would be better off going with pre built anyways. These guys are the experts, and they won't try and gouge you on anything, just explain your specific needs and you'll have no issues. I'm still using my custom SWS pc after 4 years for high end gaming and the only issue I've ever had was a budget video card, and they replaced that too
I love this place. They do cost a little more than online usually but I buy from them whenever there is a sale. They also have a small used parts area that has saved a couple builds for me with random little pieces. They have a new custom water cooling section now too, I can't wait to start getting into that after my next GPU upgrade
Friendly staff who helped me find what I was looking for. They have a nice selection of tech and peripherals if you don t want to wait for shipping from an online retailer. Not the cheapest but they were still able to cut off a couple dollars from my purchase by price matching with Amazon.

I needed a new computer and decided to try a local company to give me the machine I wanted with nothing I didn't. I chose SWS and I'm so glad I did! They were very helpful and professional to work with. I'm not a computer guy so Brandon helped me choose based on my needs. They then set the computer up for me and installed the additional programs I wanted. They did all of this on the spot (took about an hour). The computer is great, suits my needs perfectly. It only has the programs and features I want and no extra programs or bloatware. They installed anti-virus, anti-malware, etc. and provided instructions on general computer care/maintenance. This is where I'm going for all computer needs from now on.... Dan
Whenever I have a computer SOS, SWS is where I go. The team is a reliable safety net. The SWS team has been honest, knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to my computer needs.
Many years ago I purchased a replacement power supply for my P.C from SWS. I was given excellent advice on how to perform this task. Recently I purchased a printer and could not get it to work. I called up the store for advice. They offered to do the installment for me for $40 if I brought the computer and printer in their store. No one, including the directions, suggested that I reboot the computer. Luckily I overcame my stupidity before giving this store more business. This store may still have good deals. The expert advice that I once swore by seems to be missing.
Customer service sucks, 2 young men that work there are very rude and obnoxious. Definitely needs a refresher in public relations and a lesson in manners and how to speak to the public when you intend on selling them something. He was so rude i had to slowly walk away from fear of hurting the rude child. Must be a snotty nosed rich spoiled brat kid.
Nice and knowledgeable, until they have to fix their own mistake. Made me wait 72 hours on their own mistake, and now claim they will charge me for installing components I could have installed myself 72 hours ago. I will not be going back to you guys. Like I said, you're nice until you make a mistake. Bad business. Do not support them. They literally gave me my computer back without telling me that they didn't swap the psu, and didn't tell me how to get another one from them, and sent me on my merry way with a bad pc, and no knowledge of it. DO NOT GO HERE. Garbage local company under the guise of, "Good Guys."
Josh helped me build a computer and was an amazing help and most importantly he didn't try to over sell me things I didnt need and as a mater of fact he told me ways to save money with a way smarter way to build the pc
Dealing with SWS was a terrible experiences. I asked them to run a diagnostic test on my pc. My hard drive showed up faulty so i replaced it. Then i asked them to install my OS. They did but they messed it up. Now they are running another diagnostic test that has been in "process" for some time now. Just waiting for them to try and bill me for a problem they caused. Dealing with the employes was also a very frustrating process. A employe named Dillon was very rude and disrespectful to me while trying to get them to fix my computer.
My husband has been going here for years. A couple of weeks ago he bought me a "helping hands" with magnifying glass tool. It is of mediocre quality at best and is difficult to use. (In fact it was never used because the set up and adjustments were limited and a mess.) Hence we tried to return it. Apparently they do not do returns on tools because they fear being a "tool rental" store. Perhaps SWS should sell better tools and make it clear they do not do returns when an item is purchased. We always try to support local businesses, but this was a bad deal. Maybe I can find a better product online.
We tossed the item the day after trying to return it.
