I have no idea where the negative reviews for SWS ...

I have no idea where the negative reviews for SWS are coming... I'm going to guess some disgruntled former employees. I was at SWS yesterday. I show up probably once a month, like I did yesterday... all I needed was a replacement power cord for my laptap. What I got was instant, friendly service An employee took me right to what I needed. I was out of there in five minutes. That's been my experience at this locally owned store for as long as I can remember (10 years?). Go and shop this store, it's better than ever. The employees are friendly, competent, knowledgeable and helpful. Spend your money here in Tucson at a locally owned business that cares.

Went in today with my son to buy additional RAM as well as a gaming keyboard and mouse. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and answered all my questions with kindness and very courteous. Prices were very fair..except for the darn sales Tax :) I would recommend it to anyone who asks for a reference to a good computer shop that is locally owned.

Great store and great customer service. I've been building pc's for myself and friends since I was a little fella and I intentionally acted like a novice when I went in and these guys didn't even consider taking advantage of me and actually helped me save a little money through a mod I didn't know was applicable. Great store and worth the small $$ increase compared to online warehouses thanks to the exceptional customer service and same day product acquisition.

This place is a lifesaver. I made the mistake of buying a Lenovo Yoga laptop, which is incredibly delicate. The on/off button stopped working along with a USB port. I thought it was ready for the junk pile. However, SWS was able to fix my laptop and cleaned off some malware I didn't know about. I highly recommend SWS Computers.

Called ahead to figure out how they were operating with all the new covid rules. The guy was very helpful, told us to come by, line up and they would bring options out for us to view at their set up booth. The wait was quick, got in line behind 6 people, and only waited a few minutes. Told the guy exactly what we were looking for, and he brought out exactly what we needed. Quick, efficient, and friendly. Would definitely recommend coming here for your needs, so much better than waiting days for shipping online.

Wow I read some of these negative reviews and it looks like the statements are more personal than professional. My review comes from two different prospectives. I am a longtime former employee, and a customer. First of all let me say that Owner/Manager Fred Jr. is one of the most passionate people I know, both personal and professional. Fred is extremely passionate when it comes to customer service, honesty, and integrity. Fred's mission for SWS is to provide an excellent experience for every customer who contacts or comes in the store. Employee's are not only screened for knowledge of product, computer operation, but also there ability to patiently listen to customers needs. I know for a fact that poor customer service is not tolorated. Some of these complaints baffle me because it appears they very likely could have been rectified with a little understanding and better communication. My experience shopping at SWS has always been pleasant. Even though I am a former employee, I show patience when entering the store and seeing they are very busy. Employee's are trained to make contact with customers, but not smother them into high pressure sales. One person's review noted that he was not being taken care of and noticed several employee's were alegedly standing around. Employee's are expected to help stock merchandise, and at times they leave the service counters to do so. It's not unheard of to simply ask for some help if you feel the salesman is not currently with another customer. SWS is a full service computer electronics store. Fred Jr. personally oversee's the service department, and also constantly reviews products that keep SWS ahead of the curve in an industry that is constantly changing. Although offering his customers products at reasonable and competitive prices is a priority, Fred Jr. also makes sure to quickly cease carrying any products that tend to be cheap quality, with high return rates. SWS is very deserving, and appreciative of your business and they will strive to make sure you are taken care of in a professional manner. Fred Jr. and the staff understand that customers have choices. Give SWS a chance to earn your business, and you will likely become a repeat, or in my case a lifetime customer after you see what a pleasant experience you had.

Went in looking for a part. They didn't carry it in store, but said they could possibly order it. They took my info down and made photo-copies of the part. I was told the person who does the ordering was out that day but would be in a couple days later and would call me with options. Fair enough. I never got a call. I called several days later and was again told that they would call me back. It's been over a month now, and nothing. I found the part elsewhere and was able to fix the device anyway, but the lack of courtesy from SWS stinks. The least they could do is leave the parking lot open for customers who want to eat at Feast next door because that would be the only time I'd ever go back for something.

I have bought the parts and told to build two separate home PCs, and the staff were nothing but professional and courteous. They started me away from costly and unnecessary items to help me build a computer with the power to do what I needed without an exorbitant pricetag. Cables and accessories are also a great but here, from budget items to premium quality.

I'm going to try to make this brief, and not a "stab" or rude. However, I desire simply to share my experience, and other shoppers/visitors can take or leave this information.
I have visited SWS many times over the last year or so, simply to see what a local PC hardware shop has to offer. I am a very tech savvy person, I build my own PC's and know exactly what I'm looking at, and looking for. I visited with the full intention of buying products I need if they had them. There has only been one time in approximately 5-7 times I visited that anyone has spoken to me. As an example I went to the store yesterday 1/23/2019 and there wasn't a single other customer in the store when I arrived. No one said hello, hi, or can I help you find something. Through my time browsing the store, still, no one said anything to me. I made eye contact with at least two of the store associates and the situation remained the same; no greeting, response, or offer of help. I proceeded through the gaming keyboards, the two sides/isles with computer cases, looked at the processors they have behind the glass cases - bearing in mind that I'm on the market for the i9-9900K - I looked around and still nothing from the staff. I looked at the motherboards that are also displayed in the glass case, the graphics cards, all of which are VERY high priced items - again nothing from the staff. After about 15 minutes of browsing the store, and no communication from the staff I proceeded to leave - without surprise not even a "have a nice day," "come again," "good bye" - nothing. I will not be revisiting SWS because I've tried too many times without success to support this local business.

Helpful staff who found me the part I needed, explained the return process before I bought it (because we both knew that the part might not fix my problem), really easily processed the return when I brought it back, and even referred me to another store that might be better suited to help with my particular issue. Next time I need computer parts/help, I will be starting at SWS.

In starting, it seems that my experience was nothing out of the ordinary as there are many reviews here pointing out the shortcomings of SWS. I went in to get a USB hub for my laptop and I was greeted by a very sweet and friendly girl behind the counter who said a sales person would be right with me. I told her what I was looking for and she happily pointed me in the right direction. That was where the positives end. Upon finding the USB hubs I had some questions about what would work with my laptop and I had to search out a sales person myself. When I asked my questions I was scoffed at for my apparent lack of knowledge. All I wanted was a little help. I left without buying anything and I will never return. There is no need to insult a person who has questions. Shame on you SWS

I'm don't know anything about computers ,and not one of those guys made me feel uneducated or stupid in the slightest bit. They were very to the point and helped me understand what exactly what kind of animal I was dealing with. Good stuff.

SWS is a ways away from my home. However, it is worth the trip. I needed parts for my computer and was able to find exactly what I needed. When I couldn't find one part there was a knowledgeable person to guide me. I appreciated her help.

Very disappointed in this business. have spent literally tens of thousands there over the past years, yet they refused to return, or exchange an item I purchased (which they knew I had purchased as I am in the store quite often) when I could not produce the receipt. The staff was very polite, and friendly, yet would make no exceptions. I expressed my disappointment and advised that I would likely not return, but they still refused to help. I will go out of my way to avoid shopping at SWS ever again.

I see that SWS repLIED to this post. I emphasize the LIED in Replied because the item I returned was in perfect condition, and they knew I had purchased it from them. I was mostly upset because after 15 years of shopping there and spending literally hundreds of thouseands of dollars between my personal and business related purchases they were so very petty in denying my simple refund request. Th e owners of this establishment obviously don't care about their customers one tiny bit.

Many of the store's employees are super friendly and this may be the only redeeming quality of SWS anymore.

I've been going to sws for years. Now all the staff knows I never order anything on a new release. well?? The new nvidia 1080 came out and I wanted it. I ordered it from them and it came in on time. I've always counted on them for reliable information as well as what would work well for my rigs that I build. They treat me like a friend and colleague instead of a paycheck. I built my first gaming pc back in 2012 and I'm almost done building a newer updated version for 2016. They are very intuitive and very nice to explain how certain programs and hardware work. I have more confidence to build rigs now that are so amazing now. Sws is the best place to get my info and parts from. I highly recommend going to sws. Thanks guys you are awesome. :)

I expected alot more from this company!! I went there to buy a laptop.. and was given three choices all of which were way overpriced!! Um not to mention I had to stand out in the heat!! Because they were not open.. I'm done with them.. just search online and I can find better choices cheaper through online sites.. Amazon.. eBay... Fakebook market place.. this company can die for all I care anymore!!!!!

A great local business, I have been there many times for a variety of small products but my experience of purchasing a computer was the defining moment for me. Of course they were eager to show us the newest and most expensive options and the main sales critique I'd have is they weren't respectful of price points, as a salesmen you should examine the customer's needs which is not only what they need out of the product but how much are they willing to spend. If I wasn't already aware of what was in stock as a timid consumer I may not even ask if there is anything more affordable and walk away defeated at high prices. However I already knew what I was looking, so I knew where they were hiding all the refurbished stuff. Even tho i shifted the focus from full priced items to the less expensive options they didn't falter on their help. They were just as informative with those items as well. Even though they have scary signs saying no returns or exchanges i was glad to hear they will exchange the product if it is defective within 30 days. I've heard a lot of complainants about prices for individual components but you have to remember buying from a local business means that some of that price you pay goes to a Tucson local's paycheck and part to run this local brick an mortar store which feels a lot better than dumping money into the amazon coffers.

Pretty good selection with not very good prices. I think they just don't move the volume to order big enough to get the price down on most things. Great for that one off thing you need to have right now, but for any major hardware or builds I would recommend ordering online and waiting the few days for shipping. Their refurbed/used computers and gear is almost always way overpriced, and they get most of that for free from people dropping off electronics to be recycled anyway so it doesn't cost them anything but the time to clean it up. Mostly the staff is great and very knowledgeable, they have some of the best technicians I've met doing repairs. So basically their great for the random part you need today or if you're not computer savvy and need some diagnostics or repairs done, but don't do any major purchasing here for parts or builds. It's too expensive.

I was trying to get a video card that was out of stock on the regular places I purchase from online. I needed to get the card ASAP as it was for a machine I was building for a client. I called several retailers and no dice, they did not have the card I wanted. I called SWS on a whim, and the sales staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about computers. I was able to purchase the card and they shipped it out to me extremely quickly. I was able to finish the machine for my client and not lose a customer. I was very impressed with my experience shopping through SWS.

I will never step foot in SWS or call SWS again. OK, don't get me wrong, They will help you, they know they're stuff, and have always like the fact they were local, but I was sold a motherboard that been nothing but trouble, constant blue screen because of the lack of support for a product, in my opinion, that should have never been put the market. Another issue was the crap warranty, they wouldn't help me unless I took the machine in, and paid more money. Yes, I called the manufacturer asked for a replacement, but I never received a response.
After about a month of trying figure why the computer would blue screen and reboot, I pinned down the real problem, it was the memory. I cannot confirm this, but I believe the memory was either defective and they knew it, or it was defective, refurbished, returned, and resold, and they knew that too. I tested the memory in a different machine and it began doing the same thing; shutting down, and restarting. Even though I ran several memory diagnostics on the stick of memory, none of them detected anything, and this why I cant confirm, but every time I used that stick I ran into issues.
I PAID FULL PRICE!! They wouldn't swap it out because of the amount of time that had elapsed, and because of they're stupid return policy. I think they buy cheap product and put a ridiculous price on it and offer crap return policy. So SWS wants to stick me with a junk product? Fine. I have a lot friends who have a lot friends, they all have computers and at some point need help and I am going to make sure they all know to think twice before going to SWS, and I will make sure they know that I was sold a faulty product and SWS did nothing to help me.

I was traveling through Tucson on business when my laptop crapped out on me after I dropped it down a flight of stairs. An associate recommended SWS and I am very glad they did. I rarely back up my files so when I thought my hard-drive had been destroyed I almost had a heart-attack. The staff at SWS was very helpful and were able to recover all my documents and repaired my laptop. They also installed software that automatically backs up my files to a cloud account so I don't have to worry about lost documents anymore. I was really impressed with SWS & how quickly they were able to fix everything. thanks so much!

SWS has been my go-to spot for computer supplies for years now. I have always found what I have needed, whether it has been simple stuff like HDMI cables of varying lengths or robust pre-built systems (my SWS built work pc has been running nearly continuously for 2 years without issue). The employee's I have worked with have always been courteous and knowledgeable, greeting me promptly when I arrive and assisting me with any questions I have had. I always recommend SWS first to family and friends when they are in need of any computer related supplies.

I have been to SWS many times, and I have to say they run a great operation. I believe many of the negative reviews are from people who do not completely understand their machine's problem(s). Yes, you may be able to buy on-line for less, but I would support local Tucson business and I can bring a machine back to them that they built and they can resolve any issues/repairs quickly.
