Went there today knowing what we wanted, knowing how much our trade-in was worth from Kelley Blue Book, and knowing how much the "Internet Price" was for the vehicle we were interested in. After haggling just to not get low-balled on our trade-in, my wife and I tried to get them to come down from the "Internet Price" and the most they would come down was $500. We even told them if they would come down $800 more that we were ready to buy; this was a 2014, $30+k vehicle mind you.. . . .they wouldn't help out. So we walked. Was not impressed.
Taking business to another Dodge dealer whom has the exact same vehicle and I'm pretty sure will get our sale for the same price Stewg Hansen's wouldn't sell to us for. Good luck to you if you go to Hansen's.
Update: Went to Dewey (yes they are affiliated) but found the exact same car and they came down and gave us an even BETTER deal than if Stewg Hansens would have come down the $800. Avoid Stewg's, go to Dewey in Ankeny. Apparently the better pricing/floor managers are there and do not haggle as bad and care more about the customer.

I purchased a 2009 Kia Rio on March 29th of 2020. I called first thing in the morning about it and made an appointment (not required, you can just walk in) for 1:15. I was greeted at the door. Spent a total of 35 minutes there including the test drive. I recieved and excellent deal and fantastic customer service. They even helped me get the car back to Norwalk since I went up there alone. I've bought 6 cars from dealerships in my life and this was by far the best experience. Highly recomend a visit to the store and website to see if they have what you are looking for.
Waited 9 days to get morning appointment, dropped off jeep 7am. They had all day, did not even look at. Then they canceled my shuttle trip. I had to wait 45minutes for a ride. Worst experience I have ever had for a service appointment.

This is my second vehicle bought at Stew Hansen Chrysler Jeep Dodge. That in itself should tell you something about the reputation this company has. There was no waiting to see a salesman. The gentleman I had the first time retired. The other salesperson, I felt with was very professional and proficient. He answered all my questions satisfactory. I did have a little waiting time to see the finance man due to other customers buying a vehicle. But, that's a good thing, for them. I would highly recommend this dealership. Next time I'm in the market for another Dodge diesel truck, Stew Hansen will be the first I consider.

I've been trying to call this location and I've been cycled through the operators for almost 20min without any assistance and or speaking to the correct department (service department). wasted my time and when i spoke to the service department, the call magically ended when he said hes gonna put me on brief hold. i had to pretty much do this all over again and they still haven't helped me. gonna try Dewey and hopefully i can actually get the assistance i need.
My first visit to the service dept. After beinging checked in I was not talked to again for two hours. No one and I mean "no one" even acknowledged my presents for that entire time. Mulitable employees walked by numerous times and not even one "hello". I find that to be the big down fall of this car dealership. I was enformed of the issue with my vehicle and the problem will be fixed shortly. They had to order the part needed. Thats fine. I hope that I get a hello from someone the next time im in there.

They are very nice and friendly people who treat you well and are not pushy at all. I went in with a vehicle in mind that I wanted to purchase that I saw on the internet and they didn't try to sell me anything else. They showed me the vehicle I wanted and told me everything I wanted to know to make an informed buying decision. The financing department is great. I don't think they should get any stars there should be a poop emojis instead they are another scum bag dealership out there just to rip people off I would rather deal with a fly by night car dealership than with Stew Hansen they just go ahead anf make decisions about what tepairs without asking you and then you are stivk with a bill and work done from just taking their word for it
The Sales Team was AMAZING! Steven was patient and flexible (even with a screaming newborn interrupting him). My only critique is of the finance team that were borderline RUDE about our declining of certain services, even after I made it very clear that I was uncomfortable! We almost walked away because of him, but we love the car and Steven made it worth while!
To have a customer come in for an error message, and schedule them for a week out is frustrating but understandable. Can only do so much at a time. But then to send a customer off in that same vehicle with out so much as a quick check on fluids for the error message. and just shrug your shoulders and give that I have better things to do stare. Not satisfied and disrespected at the dealership.
First off Merle Burkle was awesome he took time to really make us comfortable. We are looking forward to our next deals in the future thanks again for being so great.
We went back to Stew Hanson to buy another Jeep Grand Cherokee, our salesman, Monte has been very pleasant to deal with and keeping us informed on the status of our new 2014 Summit order. This Jeep purchase was the easiest car deal we have ever experienced! We told Monte what we wanted for our trade-in and what we wanted to pay for the new Jeep and we got just that. Maybe it helped being a previous customer. We previously purchased a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland from them, my wife really loved her new Jeep and wanted to upgrade since we were out of warranty now. We had just minor problems with the XPel covering and have to go back for some additional install and possible redo. Overall we would highly recommend Monte and Stew's for your future auto purchase!

My wife called this place up asking about the price for an oil change. They tell her $40 and schedule an appointment. She arrives, and all of a sudden it's $50. She replies that she was told forty and the response she gets is "oh that's with tax".
A) tax is not 25%
B) if it's $50 then say that the first time
C) it's dirty inside
We won't be coming back for service or for purchasing our next vehicle.

Talk about a complete WASTE of TIME! My husband and I were in the market for a new Jeep and our experience started out great. Our salesman, Pierre showed us many different options and we were able to narrow it down to the one that we wanted. Pierre did a great job of selling us on that vehicle. Both my husband and I LOVED it and were very excited. Then we started the negotiating process and that is where things went wrong. We had a number in mind and we were just about to that number when Pierre's manger Scott came out and said I am very sorry but that car you wanted actually sold this morning. Instead of saying lets see if we can find that one at a different lot. He goes right into saying he has one kinda of similar. Well kinda of similar means not even in the same package. Our salesman said he would go get that jeep so we can at least take a look. In the mean time we were with Scott ( the manager) and he just started throwing out numbers. He didn't ask what we wanted vs what we didn't want and never once said he would look elsewhere to see if there is a jeep that we previously wanted at a different location. He literally just started plugging in numbers. I am the type of person where I don't want any hidden fee's and wanted out the door price. Well of course that wasn't the case. When he showed us the price ( of the vehicle we have yet to even see) it looked great but didn't include everything. He was also calculating everything right in front of us .Our salesman then came out saying I found one but not the one that the manger was talking up because it was also sold and no one put a sold sticker on that one either. Then the manager started talking up this new jeep and said it actually has more bells and whistles but he would "give us the same price" of the other one THAT WE NEVER SAW. He never once budged when he gave us that original number and said thats the best he can do. That was when I was done. I get mistakes happen but the manager Scott who handled this was a complete joke. Not only that but then he started talking down on his salesman. Our salesman Pierre was great. I could not have asked anything more of him and it wasn't his fault this occurred. Scott was your typical car salesman who didn't give a rats about anything but more money. Needless to say we walked out and drove to Deery Brothers of Ames. We had an awesome experience with them. They actually pulled up the original jeep online from Stew Hanson and were able to find the exact same everything at a different lot. The managers were great and NO hidden costs. We should have started there to begin with rather than waste our time at Stews. Never again will I give them the time of day.

I had quite the negative experience with Stew Hansen s in the past...this new experience I am going to share is quite the opposite. My wife was in the market for a new Jeep and went to Stews. Based off the previous negative experience I reluctantly accompanied her to the dealer. After awhile it was brought up that I did not like this dealer and this is basically where it all starts. I was introduced to the sales manager Mark and salesman Eddie. I explained my feelings and he apologized and wished it had never happened. The two of them legitimately bent over backwards to regain my business. Mark and Eddie started looking hi and low for a new truck that would fit my needs. After a couple of misses they finally found the exact truck that I was looking for. Mark wanted to personally structure the loan, he did me right on my trade in, he kept the payments where I needed them, he was right there every step of the way. I was dumbfounded with the amount of effort that was put in to regain my business. I am nothing but pleased and will gladly start to recommend friends and family.

Purchased a used car from Monte Carlson. The tire sensor came on during test drive and he pointed out the weather fluctuation. Aired up tire before driving off lot. The car was not gassed up, no windshield wiper fluid. Less than two days later, check engine light and tire sensor light is on. I called Monte and he said he suspected the sensor was broke when I bought it and told me to put tape over my dash cause they are expensive. Really? He is sticking to the As-is, even though HE SUSPECTED an issue and didn't disclose his suspicions covered it up and will not make is right. So no gas, no wiper fluid, sensor lights not working. I bought thinking it was weather fluctuation but he let me buying knowing it was broke and not disclosing...tape over my dash, seriously...sad customer service.

Worked with Doug, used car salesperson, virtually due to COVID on a car. Agreed on price, confirmed I could take it that day, and promised to hold it till i got there. I was paying cash. Drove 2 hours and was almost there when he texted to say to say they sold it. No offer to compensate for my time or gas. Guess someones word means nothing these days.

I have to say, finding a dealership like this is like finding a diamond in the rough. They are fair, prompt, and most importantly honest. Tim Tinkle is a rockstar and Scott Downard is also amazing. Scott used our interaction online before I entered the dealership to tailor our whole in house experience. I've never met a dealership that utilized their online presence in such a professional and useful way. He knew we were in here to buy, that we knew what we wanted, and that we were savvy about the price we wanted. More importantly, he matched us with a great rep (Tim Tinkle).

We drove 183 miles to buy a Hyundai Veloster from Stew Hansen!! We drove this distance because Chris, Jake and Phillip dealt with us over the phone fairly, honestly and professionally. We had a trade-in that, based on our description of it, they gave us fair value and lived up to the number when they saw the car. They worked their butts off to get this deal done so we could get new vehicle for our son Renato's 21st birthday gift. I am not sure how anyone coming in contact with this dealership would walk away with anything less than a 5 star rating. We will be back for more cars from Stew Hansen.

I had a great experience today! I knew I wanted a knew vechicle but was sure it would happen. By the end of my visit I was able to drive off in a brand new vechicle and it was exactly what I wanted.
Our family was a loyal customer throughout the years. Unfortunately, a recent experience will prevent us from ever going back. We made a mistake thinking that going to a dealership to service our vehicles would equate with quality...we were wrong. In a nut shell, we ended up stranded 2 hours north late one night recently when we had a terribly corroded battery cable that broke and prevented our car from starting. Talking to 2 different auto body shops, they were shocked at the lack of preventative maintenance and ineffective services that should come with a routine oil change.
