I bought two lemons from here.
A 2015 Jeep Cherokee and a 2015 Jeep Renegade.

I recently purchased a truck and have to say that Garret and the rest of the sales group were great in working with me and the accomendations I requested for signing. They also provided me with options available to me and explain them to me so I could make sure to select the items I wanted with my purchase. Thank you for keeping with great communication and listening to me. My family and I are excited about our new vehicle.

We wanted to start looking for a car but thought it would take a while to find something we liked that didn't break the bank. Our salesman Ryan Curtis was very helpful, friendly and attentive to our wants/needs. We gave him a list of things we wanted and he delivered those and more. My heated steering wheel wasn't working like it was supposed to. The Jeep dealers in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City were worthless, the one in CR more so. The Stew Hansen service team knew there was a problem and a part was ordered. Todd (service manager?), Dylan and Doug (service advisers) were awesome! They were all so nice and more than helpful. As I was waiting in the waiting area, everyone who worked here seemed like they enjoyed their job and/or this dealership. I wish I would have bought my Jeep from here, and had I kept it, I would definitely be commuting to Des Moines to get any work done.

I just purchased my new Jeep Rubicon from these guys on Monday. This is the second Jeep in 3 years, I bought a Grand Cherokee 3 years ago from these guys.I travel over 2 hours to deal with Bryan at Stew Hanson, he always treat me with respect and does everything they can to make a fair deal for both sides. I had a sports car trade in that nobody else would give me a fair price on, but Bryan and Scott made the deal happen ! I will be back for my next Jeep or Ram truck.

It was a great experience! The process was fast, in and out! And at the same time treated like family!

The people make or break a dealership. People have many choices to look for and buy their vehicles and to have them serviced. Jerry and all his crew are just top notch.

Mr.Orlando is a good business man hands down, ive pretty much shock him when i came in and requested him. He was amazed. Mr. Orlando has great an outstanding customer service skills very dedicated, helpful and very knowledgeable about alot of things i was highly satisfied working with him, he listens,cares and shows it he's multi talented. I would give him 15 stars if they had the option very good dude.I would recommend him to all of my friends an family good business. I went to the collision center to get work done. I pointed out that they spelled my name wrong. I was told that doesn't matter. I feel customer service is lacking. I'm going somewhere else to get my car fixed.

I ve got my last 2 Jeep s from them and they have been great!

I have debated for the last couple days to leave this review or not, but the experience is still bothering me, so if anything else maybe leaving this review will help me feel better.

I purchased a new 2018 Jeep JL unlimited rubicon on last week. The initial experience was great, no issues and went smoothly. I wanted the tow package on the rubicon but it wasnt on the one i bought, so they added it into the contract and gave it to me, fantastic!

I called to set up an appointment to have it installed and asked the person on the phone what was included in the $795 tow package. I was told the $795 package included a bigger battery, bigger alternator, tow hitch, wiring harness, and auxiliary switches. Wow! Nice. I write everything down.

I set my appointment up for the next week.

A couple days before my appointment i call to make sure everything has arrived before i make the 1 hour long trip into the dealership.

Spoke to the parts department and they said all they have in is a hitch and wiring harness. I explain that i was told what was in the package days earlier and he said he would talk to someone else to figure out whats going on and he would call me back in 10 min.

Hour goes by with no return call, so i drive into the dealership myself to figure this out.

I walk up to the parts department with purchase agreement and what i wrote on it. The guy at parts counter had no idea what i was talking about and had no knowledge of my prior call he stated.

I explain what i was talking about and what the package included. He said $795 tow package is whats put on at the factory and isnt available after the fact. States the wiring harness for auxiliary switches will be to short, etc. I think nothing of it, and thanked him for explaining the confusion with the tow package.

He looks everything up and gives me a parts list of everything thats included in the $795 tow package, and walks me over to another office to talk with someone else. They are not there so they page her.

While waiting, another person looks at the parts list and purchase agreement. They must of been a manager of some sort, he stated that these other items are not included in the tow package and "i dont know who wrote the other items on the sheet". I stated i did and he again said they not included. This is the 4th person to tell me something different at this point. I state "thats not my problem" and he gives a sarcastic laugh.

He asks who i dealt with and they were paged to meet with me.

The discussion that followed started cordial enough, but when i started to explain things he grabbed his head and said i was giving him a headache and i could tell from his actions, tone of voice and facial expressions he was getting upset with me.

I said "all i wanted was for what is included in the tow package to be written down on the purchase agreement, because i am being told different things on whats included. If its just the hitch, write it down. If its the hitch and wiring harness, write it down. If its everything, write it down."

He then asked how long i have had the vehicle , i state "couple days" he says " if you dont want it, we will take it back!".

I couldnt believe it. I said "no, we have a contract, and again say all i want it whats included in the tow package written down."

I finally get him to type on the purchase agreement, hitch and wiring harness. Instead of tow package that was originally on the purchase agreement.

As we were leaving, i said i couldnt believe how hard that was and asked if he was having a bad day, he said "i was told you wanted something different".

I said "no, all i wanted has what was included in the tow package written down because it wasnt itemized". Thats all i wanted. Every person told me something different."

He then said "give me a hug".

The whole situation after purchasing the vehicle was extremely off-putting, extremely difficult and just a big confusing mess.

My family will never purchase a vehicle from Stew Hansen again.

This was my second purchase of a new car from Stew Hansen. Shad Clayton, and the rest of the sales team were a pleasure to work with . They found the exact car I was looking for and traded another dealer for it. Over the week it took to find my car and make arrangements, I never felt pressured to do anything. I was able to drive in to the dealer one afternoon, and drive away my new car after just a few signatures. First class service in my opinion!

I had TJ as my service agent...he was awesome! Kept me.informed every step of the way! The work done was second to none! Great experience!

The collision center is good...beyond that. Had a horrible experience with both the new and used staffs. My wife was treated with disgraceful tact. Almost to the point of being looked diwn on or invisible. We took our business else where. The only problem with the collision center was over a rental. But that was not their fault.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Numerous trips to the service center for the same problem with a fix after the 7th trip. Then comes trip 8. Promises made to pacify us which of course never came to fruition. They lost a great customer and a jeep lover. Will buy my Gladiator elsewhere, and will tell everyone I know to avoid them. If you love being fed bull and like being treated like nothing more than a number then this is your place. It's not mine!

I wasn't too pleased with their all around service. The salesman reassured me the payments would be near the budget agreed upon. After I bought the car, my payments were nearly $100 more than what he promised. When I brought this concern up to the salesman, he said I cam refinance after 1 year. So after 1 year, I came back to Stew Hansen and they said they cant help me. They will promise the custoner they can do anything to help, that's a lie. Buyer beware.

Took my car in to get body work after a deer accident. Received it back with some paint still scuffed and steering wheel damaged. Was told by a James that the steering wheel is just wear and tear and didn't address the paint scuff. Steering wheel is less than a year old (from Stew Hansen Hyundai) and shouldn't be cracking. Sent photos to another shop that I called and they said it looks like someone ran a ring or watch across my wheel during the time they had it.

I wanted to thank service manager Todd Giblin for helping me out on our trip to Colorado. I was having transmission problems in Des Moines on a Friday early evening. i got to the dealership after the service department was closed. Todd heard what i was going through and came out to see if he could help me.
he explained to me what he thought was going on and checked out my transmission for fluid leaking. He got me on my way. Thank You so much for the help.

Bought a newer vehicle here that was misadvertised as a hemi and supposedly inspected by stew hansens mechanics and didn't find out later until my mechanic looked at it a month later and informed me I was screwed and Stew hansens will not make it right!!! I will not be back.

FOUND OUT FROM MY LIENHOLDER, AMERICAN CREDIT ACCEPTANCE THAT STEW HANDEN'S SOLD ME A 2011 FORD ESCAPE WITH KNOWN ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. I CALL ONCE EVERY TWO WEEKS TO GET A JUMP SO YHE CAR WILL START. I GET TOLD IT WAS THE BATTERY, NOPE, NOT ACCORDING TO STEW HANSENS, IT IS THE STARTER, NOPE NOT ACCORDING TO FORD, AND IT IS THE ELECTRICAL, YEP, BUT NOT ACCORDING TO STEW HANSENS AND THEY WON'T TRADE THE CAR OUT FOR ME!!!!!!! NOT FAIR, THIS SUCKS AND I'M SUING!!!!!!

We worked with Doug Burke and could not have asked for a better experience. He made sure that we were given the best deal possible, communicated with us frequently throughout the entire buying process, and answered and addressed all questions and concerns we had. Very happy with our vehicle and will be returning.

Service Center needs improvement, i scheduled my town & country for oil change, brakes, and tires ahead of time for a monday 11am. Drop off my vehicle 15 min before my scheduled appt and let Scott our technician know we need the vehicle back at 3pm. We have children to pick up from school. Scott says no problem, We get a cal around 2:30pm letting us know they havn't gotten very far with the vehicle and that it wouldn't be done until tomorrow morning, and they discovered i need new rotars. Wonderful so i had to walk to my daughters schools to pick them up and walk home over 5 miles, i have been inconvienanced out of a vehicle on my only weekday off, now i have to reschedule the rest of things to be done for another day, in 4 hours my vehicle got a oil change and a wash. i will have to do this all over again another day? This is ridiculous, this is not the 1st time i have had to reschedule an appt because they were "over booked" either. This is 3rd time, i understand shops get busy but come on!!! if someone makes an appt their vehicle should be worked on at that appt time, i am a very busy person i knew what i wanted done to my vehicle on the day of service and only got one of those items done. I am not happy with the service provided.

7:30 am appt, shuttle picked me up @ 3:15pm & oil change & brakes still are not finished. Not even the factory recall. 8 hours & still not done.

My vehicle broke down directly in front of the dealership. I took it in for service and was assured it would be a low cost fix and they would call if charges exceeded $100. Sure enough I received a call saying my PCV valve and hose needed to be replaced and the cost was $242.59. I said ok and Stew Hansen fixed within the hour. After I received the invoice showing $198 in Labor fees I called around to other dealerships including Stew Hansen at another location. Quotes ranged from $35.05 to $53.88 at the other Stew Hansen dealership in town. Stew Hansen also tried to tack on a new battery for $150. I took the vehichle to another shop down the road to look at the battery and they said it was fine. Stay away if you want to keep your money.

Rich Taylor (our Sales Rep) was very professional and knowledgeable. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and helpful. A great buying experience!

I was watching some videos on youtube and every few seconds during the video a banner advertisement from Stew Hansen blocks the middle of the screen. I watch the advertisements before a video as I want the creators rewarded. But this sort of disgusting abuse is long remembered and not appreciated.

Sales guy Scott and the finance guys were great. Cashier's Both times talking with them they need more customer service training not the friendliest bunch of people!

Owned the first two dodges ever in my life after owning about everything but. One was purchased from Stew's, one wasn't but I bring them both here for service. Have taken them in for regular service several times now and worked with Chip and Dan E. They are really great to work with and process flowed well with regard to scheduling, drop off, communication, and the pickup. Makes me want to buy a dodge for my next purchase again just to make sure I can keep getting the great service.

My service experience was very stressfull and financially unneccesary and costly. Feb. 6th Dodge Ram 1500 truck towed to Stew Hansen Dodge told I needed a new engiene, this cost $7600. Dollars. 4 days later would not start again towed a 2nd time they told me I needed a new fuel pump, another$600. Dollars. I agreed to replace it as instructed. Drove the truck home the next day would not start. Towed the third time. They had the truck another 6 days and said they had to bypass. the integrated fuel pump module. This is what they should have done to start with instead of replacing my fuelpump.Iasked for a refund on the fuel pump they declined. I am not happy with the way they misdiagnosed my vehicle,they have lost 4 adult auto buyers in my home. I was a long time 30 year customer. TIME TO DODGE DODGE AND SHOP CHEVY!!!

I'm one of those people that hates buying on credit. I am rewarded with having a "0" credit rating. Circumstances left me with little choice but to bite the bullet and see if I could actually purchase a nicer newer car and Stew Hansen Dodge Chrysler Jeep made it happen for me !
It all started out by me posing the question " Does Stew Hansen have any way to help somebody like me , with a 0 credit rating?" on their on line Chat and Mitch replied right away. "We help folks with no credit rating all the time" and then he asked if I had time to stop by and talk about it. When I got there , Tim met me at the door and said that Mitch had filled him in on my situation and was happy to help. After I explained what I was looking for and I joked with him that the last place I went to , made me sign a paper stating that I was a zero and Tim told me that I was not a zero at Stew Hansen's.

Chip is great to work with in the service department. he got me in last minute to correct a computer synch on my new Jeep. took a whopping 15 minutes on my lunch break. very happy with their service!

By far the easiest car buying experience. Doug Burke did all of the work and got me into the truck I wanted in 2 hours. I didn't set foot on the lot until I was taking delivery. I spent 15 minutes at the dealership and 10 minutes was spent talking about nothing. I was offered 4 different financing packages and chose the one that suited my budget and needs. I had been working with another dealership for well over 5 months and was more than happy to give them my business, but ultimately, the professionalism and convenience at Stew Hansen won me over. I would definitely buy here again.

I threw everything at these guys - had a dealer from a border state on text, had consumer reports car buying service. Aggressively sought their rock bottom price. They kept their cool and beat other prices. Glad I was able to buy locally. In their shoes, I would hate a consumer like me, but they gave me the same courtesy as they might someone who knew nothing and was prepared to pay 50% over invoice... ;-)

What a joke. This is the greediest dealer I've ever tried to do business with. I came in for a vehicle I found on their website and didn't even try to negotiate the price. They were more than happy to sell me THEIR vehicle for that price but when giving me a price on my trade they wouldn't even come close to the KBB value. I learned something new AGAIN how they calculate their prices. I brought in the KBB printout for my vehicle because the last time I came in, that's the site THEY used to value THEIR vehicle but was told that they use KBB to value THEIR cars because it's always the highest but when valuing MY vehicle they use a different site. Their BEST offer for my trade was almost 10K under the TRADE IN value that KBB listed. I also have a 2016 Ram and a 2015 Chrysler 200S that I TRIED to buy from them only to be told that the deal I wanted could NOT be done only to go to the next dealer to be given that EXACT deal or even better. I wanted 10K off my RAM and was told no way but when I went to DEWEY in Ankeny they said no problem. Done deal. When I wanted 7.5K off my 200 they said no way but got 8k off at GRANGER MOTORS. There's obviously too many pockets to keep full at STEW'S. If you want a deal stay away. If you want to be bamboozled, then by all means, give them your money and lose 15K off the value when you drive your new payment off the lot. NEVER STEPPING FOOT NEAR THEM AGAIN. DISHONEST, GREEDY AND PATHETIC!!!!

I would like to say thank you to this awesome dealership for pushing for me to get the car I wanted. I know my credit was pretty bad but somehow they worked a miracle. Very poor service,only good one there is the sales man Jim Fisher. Front desk very unfriendly. We bought two new cars from them, 5 year warranty bumper to bumper,but whatever is wrong is not covered,this is for sure last time we bought a car there.
