Good Ski Resort, with it being one of the higher ski areas the snow is a little dryer, the lodge is pretty nice and there are a good variety of runs for all types of skiers and snowboarders. It does get busy so get up there early or wait till early afternoon on a weekend or holiday.

This is our usual ski area. Like any area or resort it has it's pros and cons, but we only go for the skiing and don't expect much with the lodges. Plenty of secluded bowls and trees if you explore enough.
Stevens Pass is one of a few local resorts near home - but, compared particularly to Snoqualmie Pass, its primary competition in the "close enough to Seattle to be my regular mountain" competition, Stevens has a few major perks: It's typically somewhat less busy, the runs are generally better, the snow is often better (due to fewer people), and unlike Snoqualmie, the whole resort is accessible by chairlift only (Snoqualmie has crossovers which are fairly challenging - I don't count those).
The food is expensive and lift tickets are a little bonkers - but that's just kind of true about the sport. Come up on a weekday when you want to get the most bang for your buck - the mountain will be almost empty and the tickets are cheaper, to boot.
Dusty from Security is the coolest, dopest of all the Steven's Pass employees!!!
After we lost our keys snowboarding, he stayed hours after the resort closed to make sure we didn't freeze to death on the side of the road, what a guy!!
With his background and education, he really deserves a raise. He clearly loves his job and the guests at Stevens. They are lucky to have such an awesome resource and asset.
This is my favorite Seattle area snow resort. This year though, the crowds have been crazy! Make sure you can get the the ski area before 9am on the weekend or you may have to park in the satellite lot and be stuck riding the shuttle.
I grew up on this mountain, but now find myself going elsewhere. Long wait lines and limited parking. Make sure you get there before 8:30am on weekends.
Veil is kinda ruining Stevens in my opinion. They raised the lift ticket prices by a ridiculous amount and their customer service seems like it's decreasing as they value business over there customers now. If they did some big changes like way more parking (not just another couple hundred but a whole new lot) and a whole new life (the replacement ones are nice) then I could endorse such a price hike. As it stands tho tickets have doubled in price over around 4 years to the ridiculous level they are at now with little significant changes. I love Stevens, it's got great runs and it's not that bad of a commute but it's going down a dark path.
First time visited there even though I have passed by many times. It was really beautiful. Lifts were not open yet but there were many people enjoying the beautiful scenery and snow. My family also had a great time. We will be back for sking and snowboarding this winter for sure.
went on a powder day. AMAZING. Lift lines move smoothly and efficiently. Super close to Ballard, looking for the next powder day and I will take a day off from work and go have some more fun.
Love the mountain. Love the staff. They are working out some kinks with there new system and the line took way too long but if you get them online it's much cheaper and much quicker.
I came here every year for 7 years, but this place has the highest price increase for non-season pass skier this season. The trails are not bad but they do not worth the at the door price ... maybe ok if you have a season pass which is what they are pushing people to purchase.
Good assortment of runs for all skill levels, nice lodge, good assortment of food for purchase (incl healthy alternatives), rain is rare during the season. Best for single-day skiing - finding accommodations nearby is tough.
Stevens is allways fun lines are moderate a little busy on weekends but still worth the day! The terain park is allways being upgraded to challenge the most novice of riders to the expert level. They have great littke shops and rental equiment for days. Food is good and cold beer in the pubs, they also have a food court its pretty exeptional aswell. Not much wrong with this place other than the inflation of the price to board but thats going to be expected.
Came here to go mountain biking. It was great. The views were spectacular, the riding was great, almost no issues with crowds (a couple trails are very narrow and people sometimes were stopped), and the crew working here were all genuinely awesome and helpful.
Definitely recommend, if you know how to ride already, I would suggest foregoing lessons, as they are two full hours and the other people working gave us plenty of basic tips and tricks for the specialty things that go along with this sort of activity.
This place was a pitstop for us as we headed to Leavensworth. Nice place to relax and stretch your legs. Came in the summer. You can see a bunch of mountain bikers around and great to soak in the nice fresh mountain air.
There have a nordic ski area with a slope for the kids. We went in December and there were never more than 4 families there. Plenty of room for that many. Not many places to just play, but the kids loved the slope. Good for all ages we had a 1 and 7 year old with us
They removed the automatics gates at the lifts and now have someone scanning everyone's pass. This seems slower than before and some people don't even get scanned.
Otherwise pretty decent. Not too many longer runs unless the backside is open.
Practically my second home, I love this place. Amazing Backcountry, slack and dude country. Good snow, nice vibe. Good diversity of train from bunny Hill to huge drops and plenty of double diamonds. Amazing terrain park as well. Not as many features as other parks, but way better quality of jumps.
Great ski resort with many lifts and runs, an awesome terrain park, two sides of the mountain and a great community. The food is not amazing, and if you don't arrive early you won't get a parking spot on the main parking lots. On a sunny day the views of the mountains is amazing and night skiing is available until 10pm but make sure to check the calendar for that. Definitely recommend checking it out
I learned here and the mountain is big and awesome to ride, when the snow is fresh, some of the the chair lifts need some upgrading though, other than that, the staff is very helpful, once I forgot my season pass and they gave me a free day pass by showing my ID
It takes at least one hour minimum to rent skis and about 30 minutes to buy a pass. We got here at 8:30 a.m. and we still need to get our ski rentals. DO NOT RENT YOUR SKI EQUIPMENT HERE. Oh and and the food was awful. I am sure the skiing is great.
Awesome skiing and hiking! Pacific Crest trail intersects right at resort. Fun place to visit at first snow for snowball fights ! One of the prettier passes to drive! Wifi and cell at top! Legend has it that Bigfoot lives nearby! take time to stop and smell the roses during spring and summer and play in snow in winter..year round recreation
Lines aren t half bad but food is overpriced, terrain parks are fairly tame, the pricing is as corporate as it gets (buying a seasons pass for example has blackout days), and number of lifts isn t super great
Parking was an absolute nightmare. I understand the limitations of space for parking - but they really need to handle shuttles much much better (that is in their control). Skiing was excellent! It's not a very tall mountain...but it has good terrain
For a weekend place near a major city, Stevens Pass Ski Area is remarkable. It offers such a variety of terrain, that you can be challenged no matter what is your skill level. I heard one of the PSIA-NW tech team members (and examiner) say it was one of their favorite places to hold clinics and exams. Although they had me, as dberkeygroup, get their Kehr Chair display printed (color images on plexi-glass) as well as other banners and posters, plus brochures for the ski school, I have been teaching skiing there for many years with an independent, concession ski school, Olympic Ski School. And although I know the mountain, there's always a new challenge. Stevens gets drier snow and more snow than other locations, plus their new Jupiter high speed quad on the back side really eats up the line, getting you more vertical. Worth going and exploring. And, you can always come visit me at Olympic.
2 stars because I like the terrain on the mountain so 1 star for the front side and 1 star for the backside. But They completely rip you off and dont care! I spend 85$ yesterday up there on my lift ticket alone. (That's a day of work) I dropped my phone on the last run of the night and needed to go get it. I knew right where I left it taking a break.. They closed and the lifty said sorry nothing they can do. What the f#!$ I just spent 100 $ here and you won't even let my hike it to look for my phone that was brand new? Why? Why not? The chairs were still running. It was the Hogs back lifty. Blond long hair young boy. Rude. Uncaring and unprofessional. That phone costed me $800. Now I have to buy another one. And it could have been avoided if the they hired someone that cared. Ivr never felt so violated. I never want to spenf another penny here again. And if I can help others go somewhere else from now on I will .. And let's talk about the lady the sold me my ticket. She didnt even have a clue there was an easter egg hunt on the mountain. In fact she said there wasnt. And there was. There was riddles and clues everyone on the mountain. (Older lady w/grey hair) This place has lost it family integrity. I wish the old owners still ran it. It sucks now. Not to mention I waisted over an hour of my ski time waiting to get my tab in the bar in the main lodge. New gurl bartender? She was rude and not very easy on the eye, rough around the edges in every way.. Dirty Blond hair Maybe? She doesnt deserve her job. People pay hundreds of dollars every time they visit here. Customer service should be 100% up there foe us to pay so much for it, but again new owners and low pay will always get bad employees. I ended up finally just walking out. Sorry stevens pass, I tried to pay but I also paid for skking and was truly done waiting. It was a small tab too. No reason why she couldn't just grab my money and cash me out real quick. I screamed a few times to her asking to close my tab. She just rudely told me to hold on and completely kept ignoring me. I couldnt even get my glass of water I asked for an hour prior .. And why was the original dude bartender guy not helping her? It was like he hated her too. Not a good vibe up there at all this year, wowzer. They dont care about ppl or there life or time up there any more. Its really disappointing . Bakers become better lately when it comes to good employees and fairness and Quality. I've had a few bad experiences here this year... Not to mention double paying on hope for the slopes, and no manager on duty to help correct it. Then yesterday when showing the receipt from hope foe slopes, they said they can't do anything to help me and the employee that said they could help if I came back, lied. Another 200 out the door, And so much more. Just bad people up there now ! Maybe they dont care who they hire? I suggest anywhere else for a travelers 1st time.. In Washington. This place sucks now. Completely sucks. I am a huge promoter and my words carry far. I'm going to make sure the piblic, all my feiend and family and followers knows how wrong this place is and how bad you guys have wronged me and not made anything right. Upset and disappointed is an understatment.
Just go somewhere else. Save your self from strife and stress and getting ripped off! And getting horrible customer service.
I just wanted to drop a quick note here and express my upmost gratitude for the employees of Stevens Pass. They saved my ski day by offering me a free demo because my gear was broken, despite having no obligation to do it.
I went to the demo shop to see if they had an extra set of pins for my marker kingpin binding after discovering that the pins had broken on my binding before my first run of the day (side note: don t get the kingpins! ) Unfortunately they did not. However, Cashmere took pity on me and let me rent a pair of demo skis for the day so my day wasn t ruined. He offered excellent customer service, and I really wanted to thank him and the rest of the staff.
He sent me over to Matt at the demo shop who queued me up with the perfect set of skis , that could fit my touring boots. Matt even Let me return the skis the next morning so that I could go on the camping trip I had planned.
Let me emphasize that nobody was under any obligation to do this, the gear that broke was my own, not a rental from Stevens. Although they gave me the demo for free, I can assure you it made my day, and will pay off financially in the long run too for stevens. I ve been skiing Stevens pass my whole life, and with employees like this, will continue to ski Stevens my whole life and recommend it to everyone I know.
Thank you to the staff, in particular Matt and cashmere, I really appreciate it. Keep up the good work!
I m disappointed in the management companies not the mountain. There s a good amount legit routes to enjoy on Stevens.
Unfortunately the continued shift of ownership has lead to a lack of investment for improving or even just maintaining the current equipment. While I was there last weekend Hogsback one of the main high speed quads was down mid day and, and before that wasn t loading every chair... I sympathize with the workers having to accommodate for this lack of support.
Plus the lodge situation hasn t grown in any way shape or form in some time.
I look forward to going back when the increased lift ticket prices are worth it.
